We called in yesterday before visiting the Cathedral. A member of staff asked us to take a seat and they would be over shortly to take our order. We had 2 lattes which were lovely and hot, 1 fruit scone with butter and jam and 1 cheese scone and butter, both were served warm and were delicious. We will call in again when next visiting Lincoln.

We stopped in after a walk around the cathedral. Not looking for anything special, we were impressed both by the friendly & efficient team running the place, and the ordering app for when you sit outside. Outside is sheltered from wind so that even a glimmer of sunshine is really pleasant. Our drinks order arrived quickly & with a smile. No hassles at all. Have to say the food being delivered to other tables looked fab & was reasonably priced. Definitely somewhere we'll try for lunch next time we're in town.

My wife, young daughter and I had a good experience at the Cathedral Café yesterday (Table 28, at about 1230h). We opted to use the app-based ordering system, as the café was heaving with people, it being a Bank Holiday. The club sandwich and the ham-and-cheese toastie were superb: absolutely delicious food. The Café also serves the delicious Breckland Orchard soft drinks, which went down a treat. The team at the Café deserve genuine praise for their friendly, helpful and professional attitude.

Asked for smoked salmon & scrambled egg on white toast, it came in a toasted sandwich. Not very attractive looking, took toast off the top, there was overcooked scrambled egg. Barely warm and very minimal amount of smoked salmon, and it was barely warm. Should have told them about it, but didn’t want to make a fuss. Won’t be going back,

Cafe is nice, atmosphere is good. Food is nice - standard for what you’d expect at this type of place, and priced about right. Service was ok.

A beautiful setting as you’d imagine, pleasant waiting staff, however, the time between the order being taken and food actually arriving is very long, with constant apologies about the wait, being told that they’re very busy. However, on every occasion that we’ve visited (about four in all), this has always been the case! I really do believe that the kitchen system needs to be improved and that the coffee shop management need to consider the amount of reviews on here that say the same thing about the waiting times.

We visited the cathedral and found the cafe so stopped for coffee . We were greeted by a very rude girl stocking the fridge with cake . Just take a seat , she said no hello nothing . I asked if they had scones and she barked they were in the kitchen. Luckily a nice young man served us and he was very polite and friendly. The coffee and scones were nice although we did have to wait a long time for them ! The cafe was busy and the young man was rushing about , the girl who had been rude came out of the French doors and almost growled at the man and said there’s people over there take their order and then marched off . She was very rude and I wish I had said something. Apart from this the place was very clean .

We needed coffees after an excellent cathedral tour. Arrived at 1145 and order was taken with 2 minutes. Our coffees arrived at 1205 whereas the toasted tea cake had already arrived - without butter - after 5 minutes. It seems, looking around, that food arrives before drinks. Apparently the coffee girl "was on her own". We were attended to by several different waiting staff. Not an experience I shall rush to repeat.

Waited 50 mins for salad nicoise which was salmon, deep fried potatoes, olives, no green beans and iceberg lettuce. The wife's club sandwich with salad and crisps came covered in chips. Worst salad nicoise I've ever had and definitely misnamed.

We've visited often for tea and a scone in the afternoon but on this occasion ordered lunch. Two coffees, two ham and cheese toasties and a portion of chips. French baguette for the toasties so actually just a warmed sandwich. It was filling enough but I was surprised to find a 20% surcharge. It wasn't clear what it was for (vat? service?) so total cost £26!

One of the best cafes in Lincoln! Beautiful Georgian rooms decorated in relaxing colours and looking onto stunning gardens. Delicious snacks and drinks. The cafe is well run and spotlessly clean. Worth climbing the hill!

Don't waste your time and money! Having walked around the castle grounds and Cathedral, we fancied a drink and bite to eat, so went to the LC cafe, we saw a couple with a cake and sandwich selection and all agreed how nice it looked. My husband went inside and was informed to select a table and someone would be out to take our order. After 10 minutes or so I went inside to counter and asked a young lady if someone would be coming to take our order and was told Yes someone will be with you. Annoyingly a guy that came and sat down after we had arrived was served by one of the staff walking round with an iPad and a couple of minutes after received his food order. After another 5 minutes the young lady I'd spoke to came out , completely ignored us and started clearing a table . At this we were all fed up and rather discussed at their lack of interest. So we all stood up and I said to her that seeing as No one is bothered about serving us we will go somewhere else. It wasn't busy being a Monday , I dread to think what it's like at wkends? We went to Bells tea shop on Steep Hill, and bought some delicious amazing cakes, Bells friendliness and service was 100,% better than the LC cafe.

Visited the cafe whilst visiting the beautiful Cathedral. Ideal location, adjacent to the shop. Light, modern, spotlessly clean, great service and an excellent light menu. Lovely outdoor area overlooking the attractive Eastgate gardens

Arrived sat at table, unable to do table pay due to being misleading, eventually a member of staff appears goes to people who came in after us. Came to us, said he’d come back, brought food out for others, said there is a problem that he needed to see to, something about milk off and it had gone everywhere. He needed to clear it up. 😒 waited again people were leaving. He came back to us and on the 3rd time, he said he could take our order but there was a wait of at least 45mins but if we were to go inside it would probably be 1 hour… we walked away to try somewhere else. Ridiculous

The location.of this cafe is lovely, especially the outdoor tables in a lovely garden with a view of Lincoln Cathedral - the most beautiful building in the world. The service was very helpful and friendly. It’s a shame that the food lets it down. Dry sandwiches made from tasteless ultra processed bread, accompanied by a few limp leaves and oven chips. Very overpriced for the quality of the food. Worth a visit for coffee, but don’t make the mistake of eating there.

Our family of 3 ordered 2 pieces of lemon drizzle cake and one piece of carrot cake, to go with our coffees. You then pay before you receive your order, even though it is table service. This must be because you cannot then see the food you are ordering as I certainly would not have paid for it. Literally the smallest piece of carrot cake I have ever seen! It was also extremely hard and stale so had to be exchanged. The lemon cake was nice but again very small and broken. We felt at £3.95 a portion we had been ripped off. We come from Lincoln. Is this what we want tourists to think of us? Terrible!

Nice environment OK coffee BUT! We ordered a price of lemon drizzle cake which was small and crumbled , a piece of Victoria sponge which was small, and tasted manufactured . We also had a sausage roll and a pasty Both of which arrived on large plates with no garnish to make them look attractive and could have been bought for less than half price at Greggs ! Very disappointing particularly as there are some excellent alternatives near by .

I went in here today with friends for lunch myself and one of my friends had a roast lamb dinner but the roast lamb wasn't roast lamb, it was lamb chops instead which were tough and fatty, myself and another one of my friends ordered a milkshake and it appeared to be from the milkshake shop next door. The menu does not state the lamb was lamb chops and that the milkshakes are from the milkshake place next door.
