A lovely sunset from the car park to an absolutely amazing meal with great service! The staff are so friendly and attentive to make your visit the best experience possible. The food was ordered and with us in no time at all. We had a starter of mushrooms which were lovely! Then we had the lasagne and goujons for main which was one of the best lasagnes ever eaten! For pudding we had a sundae and treacle tart which were so so tasty. Could not fault one element of this meal and it’s priced reasonably too. Best food and best service we have had in a long long time! Only wish we lived locally as we’d be in here all the time!

We had booked to see a film at the nearby Kinema in the Woods and so an early supper at The Tea House in the Woods seemed ideal, as the two are just a minute's walk apart. Honestly, not being local and just having the photos to give us an idea of the place, we were expecting something along the lines of a summer house or pavillion; so we were surprised to find the interior so large and well laid out, a selection of tables and booths and, for good weather, an extensive patio. Our imagined light supper turned out to be a really good meal, lovely environment and great, friendly service - a special shout out to Chloe. My other half had the vegetarian, three beanchilli and loved it. I went for something from the specials board - hanging chicken and chorizo kebabs - which arrived literally 'hanging' by virtue of a metal ring contraption, which the plate sat on and then a high extension with a hook on it, with the kebab skewers hanging. (Apologies - hard to describe!) My meal was huge, imaginatively presented (!) and absolutely delicious. As well as my kebabs, substantial in themselves, I had a portion of chips (my other half had to help with those) sauces and dips and coleslaw. I impressed myself by managing to finish it! The dessert menu was very tempting so we ordered one and Chloe brought us two spoons! It is so lovely to be surprised and to have one's expectations so roundly exceeded. We would highly recommend you visit.

On a sunny spring afternoon, this was an ideal place to order a steaming cup of great Italian coffee and choose a home-made cake and sit and while away a few minutes, watch the world go by. The staff were friendly, the environment comfortable and it just felt like all was well with the world; the ambiance of a really good coffee shop. My other half had a deeply dark and sticky ginger cake, topped with fresh, light, lemony icing whilst I indulged in a Malteser tiffin bar. We could have been in a chic cafe on the continent; I hope the residents of Woodhall Spa appreciate how lucky they are, having this on their doorstep.

Went to Woodhall for the day and decided to try the Melrose. I wasn't sure if I was meant to wait for my order when I went in or if they were going to bring it to us as after serving me the server went to someone else without a word to me. The waitress came out and she didn't seem to know what she was doing as she'd got the table numbers mixed up, my partner spoke to her and she completely ignored him even though she knew he was speaking to her. She then tried to be all friendly after I went in and they saw I wasn't very happy with being ignored but it was too late by then. So with that and a pot of tea, a latte and an ice cream for the dog coming to the very expensive total of £9 we will be giving this place a miss next time.

Friends said if you ever visit Woodall Spa look out for the cake shop. So glad I went looking for the cake shop as the cake display looked gorgeous and very tempting. I could resist buying a couple of cakes for later. And I wasn’t surprised I had to join a queue, which gave me time to look around. The cakes were delicious and of course if I’m ever in the area again I’ll definitely stock up on more food.

This place is on the poorer side of average. It looks ok from the outside but is very stark and soulless inside. No atmosphere at all. There was a long wait for food. The food was not great when it arrived. We will not be going back.

We arrived at this hotel for a wedding, on arrival I found it unusual to be asked for payment upfront? We were staying in the grounds, in a block of about 20 rooms (approx) The door to the lodge was entered by security fob. It soon became clear that the door closure was worn out, as the door slammed shut every time someone came and went, including drunk golfers at 2 - 3 am in the morning???? My room was the first one inside the door the door frame was connected to the wall of my room so the slamming door was annoying!!!! Three times I reported this problem to the receptionist (when I could find one) who promised to sort it, this never happened. The shower in my room was leaking into the bath for the duration of my stay (2 nights) I reported this also but again nothing happened. A family member had an executive room paying over £100 a night more than my room, when they arrived some of the wallpaper in the room had fallen onto the floor, damp was obviously an issue? Whilst on arrival the hotel seemed rather nice it soon become clear that all was not as it seemed (hence payment taken upfront). The staff were all young and lacked guidance or training the guy at breakfast was just damn right rude, if I hadn't been at a wedding I would have left and found somewhere else immediately. This hotel requires a good maintenance man, a full time receptionist as well as a manager. The other noticeable point was the reception, which was in a small office. The reception door spent more time locked than it did open. Even on the morning of leaving, the reception was locked, when I went to leave and discuss my complaint with someone, six sets of room keys were just left lying on the floor outside. When we tried to book our rooms the phone was never answered, the same with emails, now we know why, lack of staff. Nevertheless the experience of the Dower House Hotel, Woodhall Spa is over and I won't be returning.

During our stay at Woodhall Country Park we were pleased to be told The Village Limits was open. We rang to check they had a table and we would be able to take our fur baby and were pleased to get a yes to both. The restaurant is beautifully quirky, full of lovely old furnishings and lots of items from the past set in decor that matches perfectly. The staff and owners were very welcoming and friendly, the choice of drinks at the bar was more than enough and they are not overpriced. The food was delicious, the menu is not huge like some restaurants but there is still plenty to choose from to suit everyone’s palate. I had the pie which was packed full of chicken and ham hock, while my husband had the Schnitzel, both came in generous portions. It was very busy and obviously popular which is understandable and I think on our next visit we will have to pre book as we would be very upset to not get a table.

We chose the Petwood Hotel as it was close to the Lincolnshire Aviation Hertitage Centre which we were visiting and also because of the link to the Dambusters 617 Squadron. We couldn't have chosen better. The location was excellent and the grounds lovely with some surprising finds. The staff were very nice and helpful. We were in room 315 and yes we could hear the bangs etc. from the kitchen which was a bit annoying but didn't spoil our stay which was for 2 nights. We booked an evening meal for the first night and had the biggest steak and ale pie so beware!! but it was lovely. Breakfast was very nice although the staff were a bit fraught as there had been a wedding the day before so had a lot of guests to serve. The second morning was more peaceful and we could choose off the breakfast menu. We loved looking around the hotel especially the bar which has been left as it was during the war with lots of interesting memorabilia. We would definitely stay here again.

Sadly not a great pub which is a shame because I am sure it could be . We went for dinner and they had no chicken, no belly pork no lamb no ciabatta. In fact the girl said she couldn’t remember all the items they hadn’t got .it was a Saturday before the bank holiday so you would have thought they would have stocked up. I had lasagne and husband had pie. Both very poor. Average at best. Would not eat there again.
