Wonderful Sunday Lunch, very friendly carvery chef. Lovely choice of well cooked local meat. Plenty of veg to choose from, personally cannot fault The INN for Sunday lunch. Does get busy however I think this is a good sign!! Looking forward to next week already.

What can I say, I have been many times to "The Inn" which is round the back of "The Lancaster" in Woodhall Spa, The Inn is amazing when open, good atmosphere and great staff, but The Lancaster, not so much, atmosphere "none" and the bar staff literally stood huddled in a group chatting with no interest at all in the customers, not happy, someone should tell them that it costs nothing to smile, say hello, or even to acknowledge, nope, will NOT be coming again, absolutely shocking...

On arrival shown to our table. We were 4 adults sat next to table full of child friendly people. Children shouting and running around. Not good. Quiet at the far end. Should have asked to move. Drinks ordered. Orange juice and lemonade £4.25, Sauvignon Blanc large £11.00 ( and not best quality.) Drinks delivered to table were all spilt on the tray, then he tipped the tray towards the floor splashing my new shoes and causing a slipping hazard that I had to point out to him. Really mad that I had to clean my new Reiker shoes afterwards. Table sticky and dirty with drinks ring from previous diners. Sold out of beef, by 2.30, when they are supposed to serve till 4pm. Only Turkey and gammon ham left. No bread sauce or pigs in blankets. Gammon super salty. Inedible. They put herbs in the Yorkshire puddings and in the roasted vegetables mix. WHY do this and spoil natural flavours. One of the veg on offer was frozen peas. Cop out. Why not savoy cabbage, runner beans, mashed swede, broccoli, roast parsnips etc etc. They are in the middle of Lincolnshire FFS. The cauli cheese ws ok but needed to be cheesier and further cooked, but just ok. Although food and plates acceptably hot, gravy was thin and watery Opted for lemon posset and peanut chocolate puds, which went down well with both diners. Cross that I ordered another £11 glass of Sauvignon Blanc as I didn’t realise they charged that much for such a poor quality wine. Should have asked to see the bottle. The big question. Would we dine here again. I’m afraid not.

I have noted some negative reviews about the Lancaster Woodhall spa and just felt it necessary to say how good this place really is, the food is excellent, extremely well priced and the staff and service second to none. We make this our go to destination every time we visit the area which is frequently. The menu is uncomplicated and well presented. If you want fast food go elsewhere, we have always had a 30-40 minute wait for our meals which we find totally acceptable if you want good freshly prepared meals. Staff are mainly young, very professional, polite and really helpful. You will not be disappointed with a meal here. I can absolutely recommend the fish and chips, the salmon and Gnocchi my wife absolutely loved, the Sunday carvery is a must do but book in advance to avoid disappointment.

We called in for a drink. Staff were friendly, nice garden area. The food looked lovely what other had ordered so we decided to eat. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as it looked. The chicken burger was extremely spicy and burnt. Onion rings were tasteless and the coleslaw wasn't very nice.

Booked a table for my Birthday as we had Family staying in Woodhall spa. Very friendly helpful staff who were always attentive. Food was delicious and the menu was varied enough to suit all of the different appetites. Really lovely setting too. The only complaint was the youngest thought his burger was a bit too charred around the edges but otherwise absolutely wonderful.

Food was lovely and had a nice long chat with the barman Adam who was really friendly. There is a couple of terraces, bar, and resteraunt to cater for so can u derstand the wait for food, its a lot bigger than I initially thought. There were several dogs outside with people eating so can't understand the person with the one star review saying dogs aren't welcome, there's literally drinking bowls provided for the dogs outside. Will deffinatley eat there again when we are in Woodhall spa next.

Firstly the food was quite nice and the place in general was nice. We sat inside as no space outside. The food was such a long wait which was not ideal with children. I would advice to sit outside only with children as then they could have been distracted with the playarea. I was surprised at the lack of staff on for a lunchtime, especially during the school holidays and on a nice day. Considering it was lunchtime when we turned up, there were no menus on the tables. I had to get in line of a queue of 6 people before me just to ask for a menu. The bar staff was on his own, but was also very slow. We then had a 40 minute wait which it does state on the menu is the norm. This did surprise me as most places state a 25 minute wait tops. I appreciate it was busy, but again the wait could have been avoided with a lot more staff on. It just wasn't enough for such a large place in the middle of the summer holidays.

Popped in here for a bite to eat on father's Day but with out the kids so was pleasantly surprised at the lack of others screaming kids you always seem to get on father's & ,mothers days out. The first bad point was the shock at being charged just over 9 pounds for a little bottle of prosecco, even the lad behind the bar laughed when I questioned the price . We both had the steak sandwich with chips , with a side of house slaw . Steak sandwich was better than average, chips were very nice and the house slaw was terrible nothing more than a runny mess . Would we eat here again , yes the place is very nice kept very well ,prices are on the steep side and there are places just as good and also better but overall not bad . Would of given four stars but getting pennies change from ten pound for a little bottle of prosecco is hard to swallow when across the road and next door it's six pound

In February went with friends to a birthday lunch in the restaurant at the back. First, they seem to cram people occupying around four tables, all together whilst the rest of the restaurant sat empty the entire meal. Second we ordered drinks. There were three of us that ordered sparkling water... two with ice and lemon and one with just lemon. That seemed to flummox the staff as we received two waters with just lemon and one with ice and lemon. Next was the main meal. Three of us ordered Caesar salad: One normal, one with the dressing on the side and I asked for it without the chicken and dressing on the side. I said to the young lady that I really just wanted a salad. When the meals turned up you could not believe that the two full caesars (one with the dressing on the side) did not even look like the same meal. One was a mound and the other pretty flat. When mine turned up I was in absolute shock…. I had part of a little gem lettuce and about 6 croutons. To add insult to injury, when the bill came I was charged £12….. the same as the others that had the chicken. Since it was a friend’s birthday lunch we paid the bill as I did not want to upset our afternoon. On 10th February I wrote to the company asking for my money back; on the 14th rang to check they received the email to be told that management were taking a few days leave but the email had been received. On the 15th I received an email saying they were checking into it. On 28th February I wrote again to ask for an update and I have received no communication at all. It's not the money but the downright rudeness and unprofessionalism of this company.

We come here relatively often because we live in Market Rasen - it’s a good place to drop in for lunch because they do a good range of sandwiches and soups etc. at lunch. However, the bar manager is extremely rude and ruins the experience which is otherwise alright. We went up to order and he was being very harsh with a member of the bar staff - right in front of us he was complaining that the pint she pulled was bad and being very patronising. The bartender who served us seemed quite distracted taking our order and got a few little things wrong, but nothing too serious. We sat and waited in the snug.. and just kept waiting. We were sat for a total of 45 minutes - waiting for sandwiches bear in mind - before we said anything, and the bar manager’s response was, ‘yes you will have a long wait because we’re very busy.’ We assumed he meant to restaurant because it was quiet in the bar area. Then he said we were told before ordering that it would be at least half an hour, which we said wasn’t true, and he asked for confirmation from the bartender who said she didn’t know anything about there being a long wait time. He then fell back to the excuse that it said there would be a 45 minute wait on the menu, but we looked and it wasn’t there. When he finally brought the food, we mentioned that it didn’t say anything, and he said ‘it will do’ and spent a while looking at the menu seemingly flabbergasted with the fact that I could, in fact, read. He put it down to it being on the other menu instead, but given that we hadn’t looked at that one as it is for larger meals, it was irrelevant. We also asked for an extra plate and he never brought it but we were fed up with trying to argue at that point. If we hadn’t have paid at the bar before eating we would have just walked out - not because the food wasn’t fine, but because he absolutely refused to apologise, take any responsibility, or do the courteous thing and offer us a round of drinks as a gesture of goodwill.

We tried to order desserts twice and after a wait was told that what we wanted wasn’t available. Eventually the bill came and the waiter asked us twice if we wanted our change. Yes we do the service was terrible and the dirty plates were still on our table. If they could get this up to standard to match the food it would be the perfect place. Such a shame !!

The Lancaster used to be one of the local old folks home called the Eagle Lodge and had the Gamecock pub at the far side, now Bar 617 cementing the Dambuster link. It is a decent restaurant serving solid Lincolnshire fare with good value portions and efficient staff. The bars are well stocked and there is plentiful off road parking which no where else on the Broadway can claim. As well as drinking and dining here over the years they did an excellent job in providing for my Dad's wake so a big thank you for that.

After all the excesses of the Xmas/New Year holiday period, my family has 2 birthdays in close succession. Therefore, we are used to trying to have a special celebration time when everyone else has 'had enough'! And that pretty much sums up our experience at the Lancaster Brasserie. It was 'tired' after all the forced festivities, service was 'OK' but nothing more. The decor is a little odd. Its neither fish nor fowl; if you're trying to garner favour with aeroplane aficionados then go for it, or similarly go for the French brasserie/bistro wholeheartedly or adopt the Art Deco style throughout, but don't appear to go off at half (third?) cock on all 3! On the other hand, the food was good; tasty, hot, nicely presented and satisfying. Selected dishes were Tempura prawns (large, numerous and lightly battered), supreme of chicken and belly pork (surprisingly, with no crackling but none the worse for that - nice stuffing compensated well). The frangipangi might have been better heated however. In sum, well into the 'OK' bracket, but could do better ( and probably does at other times). And if I'm paying, I want the service not to be suffering from post-Xmas blues!

Stopped here for Sunday lunch last weekend as the reviews are pretty good for the place. Staff were pleasant when we arrived and found us a table. We opted for the carvery which as our title says, was average, the beef was not very nice, very veiny, the veg was quite hard as was the roast potatoes. The other thing that we thought was quite strange was the decor, it’s quite an old building and inside they’ve tried to make it modern, but not really succeeded and then got lots of older bits in between. Nothing majorly wrong with the place but don’t think we will be back.

My friends and I enjoy visiting the Lancaster Brasserie, as there is usually a vibrant atmosphere and the waiting staff are cheerful and efficient.Friday night was no exception, even though we sat close to a large birthday gathering. We tried the more-ish camembert & French bread starter and for mains we opted for the chilli bean dish and a portion of belly pork. The meals were hot, tasty and freshly prepared. The 'piece de resistance' was the gingerbread cheesecake served with wonderful ice cream and wafers, Although the portion was bigger than anticipated, we loved the taste and consistency. We moved to a seated area for a final drink--a large glass of good quality hot chocolate. There was some confusion over the bill, as ours had been given to another table (which had eaten even more than we had). This was all sorted very amicably, though. All in all an exceptional evening meal for our birthday occasion.

We're regular visitors because we usually really enjoy the carvery. Two days ago, we arrived at 12.07...there was just the two of us and all the carvery meat and veg keeping warm but it took a few minutes before a member of staff showed up. We asked where we should sit and the young woman said:" Not in here. The tables are set for breakfast." We always sit in this lovely, light and airy room where the carvery is served and when she directed us instead to the big bar room at the front we declined as it was very busy and loud. So we went to another pub and had an excellent meal. Possibly not returning to the Lancaster because of the stupidity of setting up tables for breakfast which was still about 19 hours away! What a daft rule.

Service was slow. Starters didn't arrive at our table until about 30 - 40 minutes after we'd ordered. I had the "Lancaster bouncing bomb" - BBQ Glazed Scotch Egg, Red Chilli & Apple Slaw, Watercress is how the menu described it. There was a sort of "chef-like" smear of BBQ sauce on the plate (not on the scotch egg), and the "slaw" appeared to distinctly lack it's claimed ingredients of red chili and apple - in fact it could have been a tablespoon of an Asda smart price coleslaw and I wouldn't have cared after waiting almost 40 minutes for it! The watercress was indeed watercress though - can't fault that part. The scotch egg was nice though. My partner shared a plate of tempura battered king prawns with our daughter. There was a distinct lack of tempura batter, but still a sort of slight crunch to them, like most of the batter had slid off when dipped in hot oil. Then we had another wait for our mains that got to the point where I had to go and ask if they were going to be much longer.

We had a late lunch here yesterday. We were with my husband's mother, who is in her 80s and doesn't have a big appetite, so she always orders a child's portion to avoid food waste. When we asked for a small portion of scampi and chips we were told that this was not possible, and the waitress suggested my mother in law order from the children's menu. This is humiliating for someone over 80, and when we asked if scampi and chips was on the children's menu, it turned out it wasn't. I have never known a restaurant refuse to serve a small portion before, it is very bad customer service.

Have been here on a number of occasions for the carvery and would rate it as one of the best I've ever had. Cook is always very friendly and accommodating and the food is always perfect. Very reasonably priced and the deserts though a little more expensive are well worth it. Highly recommended.

Visited here before but sat in the restaurant section, on visiting the local area again with family we decided to visit here for food one night. Numerous members of staff walked past us and didn't even acknowledge us despite waiting for service. We decided to head through to the bar and upon getting served for drinks our server answered their personal phone and walked away from us. Not great when we were looking to spend quite a lot of money here as their was going to be a large family ordering meals.

Stayed at the pet wood caravan park and came here bank holiday Sunday for a carvery! We sat in the bar area of the pub and what can I say we weren’t waiting long at all......the beef melted in your mouth and had plentiful Veggies and big Yorkshire puddings couldn’t fault it at all

We called for coffee at 9.30 on probably the busiest morning of the year in Woodhall Spa. We were told that the machines weren’t yet set up for the day, and we were informed they weren’t open until 11.00am! When I questioned this I was told “well we’ve got to set up for the day!” Bearing in mind the busy 40’s weekend I would have thought everyone would be in early to cash in on such a great opportunity! There were residents inside having breakfast so Tea & Coffee was being served anyway! How very disappointing! Fortunately we were very well looked after at Kitchenetta across the road who seemed to be on the ball & organised in time for the busy day.

Visited last night with my partner. The decor was clean and modern though a little clinical. The place was pretty empty so service was great (a little to quick to clear the plates, we hadn’t finished before they asking if they should clear the table).

4th Feb. 2018, Sunday with two visiting friends visiting. had coffee and at midday asked for a table for 4 for the carvery. They did not look busy but was turned away. Poor service I think, in this day and age I thought they would be pleased of the business. Sorry Lancaster Inn its your loss.

Carvery service slow. Meat and veg very very bland. Was In the area for a weekend away don't think I would bother again. Perhaps speed up the carvery service waiting 30 min just to be called up is excessive.

We were visiting Bainland lodges between Christmas and New year and pre booked for 17 people. We had pre booked our meals but had lots of changes when we arrived. They coped with it fantastically.

the carvery is a good value meal with plenty of meat, unfortunatly there is not much atmosphere in the lounge and they have some funny closing times for food so check before you go. staff are all very young and not that well trained in customer service, overall good meal but with a few downsides

Visited the Lancaster Inn for dinner after a family trip to the Kinema in the woods. We were a group of 10 so the order for our meal was a lengthy one although we did only order a main course. Our meals were served after quite a wait and we were asked if everything was ok with them. It was not as one meal was missing. It took a long time to sort with trips backwards and forwards to check we had actually ordered it- we had! By the time the missing meal arrived most of the group had finished their meals leaving the 10th person feeling uncomfortable and unable to finish their food. This spoilt our evening and the staff had a poor attitude about the whole situation. We would have expected at least the price of the very late meal to have been deducted from the bill. Because of the poor service we will not be visiting the Lancaster Inn again.

A good menu along with daily specials means that eating in for a number of nights is fine. Some excellent examples of home produce and reasonable prices. The wine list is quite long and very reasonably priced.

Caters for just about all tastes of diners and drinkers, offering a seamless blend for just about every visitor. The food is good and, in my experience, the beer is well kept. An enjoyable experience in the heart of Woodhall Spa.

We met family here for a meal. There were 3 adults and 5 kids. Plenty for kids to do while waiting for food. I had braised beef which melted in the mouth. My husband and nephew had gammon which they both said was great. You could even get an extra egg with it! All 5 kids had mini pizza and chips with salad. It all disappeared so must have been good. Husband had shortbread stack and I had strawberry and cream soufflé, both very good. Kids all had icecream which they said was tasty. All made to feel welcome. Staff very friendly. Will definitely return.

Although we've lived in Lincolnshire for over 10years, we've never eaten at this restaurant. Unfortunately we wouldn't eat their again. The service was OK, the venue OK, the meals were dissapointing.I had the meatball with spicey tomato sauce and pasta. The meatballs were good, the pasta as expected, but the sauce was anything but spicey. My partners meal was not good at all, risotto with tuna steak, the tuna was nice but the risotto was probably the worst we've ever tried! Who puts big pieces of citrus rind in risotto? It lacked cheese and flavour except for a very overwhelming taste of citrus, which normally we really like. May be we've been spoilt eating at lovely places in different counties, but with places like the tea house and village limits near by, they lack the ambience and culinary skills compared to the others.

Called in here for a drink and had dinner as well. I fancied a jug of Pimms and by golly we got one. A huge beast full of mint, strawberries and cucumber. It took us a couple of hours to do it justice!!The food was good too. I had the belly pork and the wife had the Hunters burger. Service was excellent and prices pretty good.

Visit to the seaside wanted fish and chips, as I'm gluten free I usually struggle. Not here have gluten free on the menu, also curry sauce. We both had regular fish and chips, mine was wrapped separately from husbands as he had normal.Great portions glad we didn't go for the large.

Had a couple of roasts today which came with free desserts. Meal was lovely, fresh, hot, just what you expect. We was really happy with that.....but....half an hour after leaving we realised we had left a bag behind. Money, cards, car keys, medication, all stuff hard to replace when on holiday. We returned to the Windsor and the lady who was serving, cleaning etc said she saw the bag as soon as we left, so put it safe behind the counter. Panic over. We can't thank you enough xxx

Can't begin to say how bad this pub was, miserable landlady and landlord and the worst food I have ever not eaten. I say not eaten as we didn't get through even a quarter of the plate of awful food we were offered. My husband said the beer was okay but please don't bother with the food it REALLY ISNT WORTH IT.

We went specifically to this venue for breakfast. We ordered different breakfasts and made some changes to one of them with the helpful counter staff. The tea in the tea pot was cold and we took it back for a replacement hot tea pot. The breakfast was brought to us by a member of staff who did not smile or speak. Having ordered extra well done bacon we were surprised to note that it certainly hadn't been even well done. The plates were cold and so was half of the breakfast, the rest of it cooling rapidly. The toast and prepacked butter were placed on the top of the breakfast and we had to use our fingers to try and get them off the top, even though there was nowhere to put them (have they never heard of side plates)? All in all, very poor. Customer care is clearly not a priority.

Visited here yesterday as we have done many times previously and i was on my VERY SMALL electric scooter (ES). It was quite busy but not full as it is fairly small inside. Myself and my scooter took up the same amount of sitting on the chair as i was situated so i didn't need to use their chair and if on a large bike this would not have been possible. However a young girl asked if i could leave my ES outside and walk in which i could not as not able to do so. I replied we have been in there previously and had never been an issue but she said the couldn't allow it when they were busy. I would not have gone in if i was going to cause an issue or restrict any of the pathways and so i felt i had to leave, which we did. However there was 3 tables occupied by approx 12 men who were blocking pathways and not eating anything and were loudly talking to each other across the tables who were who were quite clearly obstructive but seemingly that was ok !!! I am disgusted in this day and age that such discrimination persists and i will not use them again. Perhaps they need to add a sign to the windows stating people with mobility aids would not be allowed in busy periods. Totally Disgusted. LInda Halls
