Totally stand-out warm and welcoming service from our phone call to book, to our arrival and throughout our delicious, filling Sunday lunch. The team (and we have to mention Emma as a particular star) took care of every little detail to elevate our visit to a special occasion. We were traveling with our dog and our reserved table included a welcome treat and a water bowl ready for him - how lovely that we didn't have to ask for anything. Our meals were generous portions, very tasty and reasonably priced. Every pub and restaurant should be like this.

Fantastic food and the waitress Alona who was from Ukraine was amazing. Very pleasant and friendly. A credit to Yorkshire Fisheries.

Friendly welcome, lovely atmosphere and delicious food.

This has been a popular restaurant since opening so much so its expanded. 3 of us shared multiple plates all cooked to perfection with a lightness of touch and delicious flavours. Cocktails are amazing and the Reisling is excellent value and whilst it feels like it might be expensive it’s still better value than many tasting menus. My only gripe from inception is the decor looks dated even after the revamp and the lighting is brutal.

Came here twice this week as I was in town again for business…. Sunday roast (lamb) was so good I had to come back tonight to try an authentic fish and chips. Both were excellent! Service was great both times and the feeling the place was exactly what you’d want in a pub off the main tourist paths. Sunday was laid back and quiet. Tonight (Wednesday) was a lit bit more lively with football on the TVs, but still it maintained a local, great vibe. Prices are excellent and both times the service was welcoming and great. The gent who greeted me tonight and let me try my peas “two ways” made me feel like a local and a welcomed friend. Thanks to all here…

Excellent place, good atmosphere and even better food, even offered free entertainment on the night, (we had a little angry orange fella running around crying about some food he’d already eaten then sent his wife on Facebook to handle business for him) brilliant performance

Excellent evening meal - well balanced menu, faultless service, really tasty and well presented food - well worth every penny!! Of particular note - the pork belly was exceptional, the sticky toffee pudding to die for. It's definitely on our list to return to when next in the area - thank you for a great evening.

We’ve been eating here for years and always been delighted with the quality and service; this evening’s meal was no exception. Fabulous menu, perfectly executed dishes, superb wine list and great service as always.

Read about this place on National Geographic magazine years ago and always wanted to try. The Sunday Roast sharing platter was perfectly cooked and the vegetables were amazingly tasty. Portions were very generous as well. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

A small local restaurant with a small but perfectly formed menu. Everything we had was delicious. Perfect for a romantic dinner or an evening with friends. Staff were friendly and attentive and offered advice / suggestions for both the food and wine. About a 15 minute walk from the centre of Edinburgh and also on the tram line in the direction of New Haven / Leith

Excellent service with friendly, welcoming staff. Our group has been here before. Now under new management, it’s still fantastic. We enjoyed our roasts and Loaded nachos. The lasagne tasted great but was a little small. Overall, excellent and will go again.

Recommended by the group from my holiday accommodation nears Holsworthy. Thought we would give it a go to get my scone fix ….. wow We went for “The misfits” (large cheese scone & one sweet scone) definitely the right choice Delicious 😋….. the choice of cakes are amazing & never seen such large giant cakes …… just brilliant 😊
