Great food great price and you know what you're going to get when visiting a wetherspoons pub. Always busy but never a problem Steve C

We visited on a Sunday and the cafe was very busy, with only one member of staff front of house taking orders and making coffee / tea, serving cakes etc, so service was pretty slow. We had intended to have a snack, but nothing looked appealing, and it also looked expensive for what you got, so we just had a coffee. We love strong, robust coffee and ordered an espresso and americano, so nowhere to hide. The coffee was truly awful however - bitter and acrid; a couple of small sips and we just left it. It states that the coffee is bird life friendly and I whole heartedly commend that, we are RSPB members after all, but I don’t understand why that should compromise taste and quality. Suffice to say we’ll be taking a flask and picnic on our next visit and we went home after our walk to get a cafetière on the go. On the plus side, the young lady making the drinks was really pleasant and good humoured, despite being incredibly busy, and the design of the cafe, which overlooks the reserve is in a great location … if only the coffee was good.

Fantastic From start to finish! Cocktail making was brilliant with the best bar staff ever! Dee made sure wee had the best night and looked after all the girls. The door staff were brilliant crack especially Arlene! The music was brilliant! Safe to say wee will be back!!!

Visited these guys for breakfast whilst staying locally. We received a warm welcome from the staff who were friendly and professional. They have a couple of good breakfast veggie options, as well as soya and oat milk, we went for the veggie breakfast and the avocado on toast. They were doing something with the smoke alarms when we were there, so that caused a bit of a din, but didn't really detract from our visit.

Its not the most exciting hotel, but is fine for a work stopover. I've eaten here the last couple of times and was very impressed by their steak pie with nice veg on the side and a good pint of Guinness. Their haddock and chips is nice too

Everyone is friendly such a good pub very walm and welcoming. Not to expensive for the drinks.good pool table. It has a good dart board. You can play skittles here if you want

What restaurant?? Expected food but kitchen shut! Had booked in to stay so would have expected to have been informed of this prior to the refund period closing but no such communication & guess what, they’re refusing a refund. Dreadful service.

Myself and husband decided to have breakfast here today, we both ordered a family breakfast. The gentleman who served us was very polite. On arrival of the food, it looked well presented and steaming hot. It was a lovely breakfast, can’t fault it at all. Everything was hot and tasted lovely. Would definitely recommend and will definitely have another trip there

Decent fish and chips. Popped in last night on my way past and had mini fish and chips £7.50. Nice and hot and quick service too.

We went at a very quiet time on a Sunday so had the reduced menu. We were quick to make our order however they were very slow with food and drinks. The waitress was unsure of the menu and what the meals consisted of, when she asked a colleague, they were rude and dismissive. When we were waiting, we were asked what we were waiting for? Understand being forgotten about on a busy night but it was just us and one other table. The coke was flat, the spoon was dirty. The haddock and mash was OK but didn’t make up for the slow and rude service. Overpriced. One waitress recommended to another customer to use Just Eat and we wish we did too.

Stayed here with my 5 year old and we had a lovely time. The caravan was spotless and stocked with everything we could need. You’ll need to bring your own towels but bedding was provided. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the site was peaceful and quiet which is just what we wanted. There is a kid’s park which my son loved and there are fields all around so you feel like you’re in a little bubble away from everything which was lovely. The beach is a short drive away (or a leisurely 20 min walk) and there are lots of things to do within a 15 min drive. We went to Maryport harbour which was very scenic and had some lovely cafes and a great outdoor kid’s park. We got the train to Edinburgh (35 min drive to Carlisle train station and then an hour and 15 mins on the train) and that was a really fun day out. We will hopefully be back as we had a great time at this lovely site.

Sunday lunch was dire , one of us pointed out an earwig resting near the pork joint . That was not the problem the veg looked soggy so I thought the parsnip looked brown the Yorkshire was like cardboard but worst of all was the gravy really nasty dinner and left it all . Inedible No comments from the waitress £23.50 at least the starter was edible . This is the last time I eat at the parkway never again .

We visited here last year on one of the special offer mid week menus. We had beef, turkey and pork pie, liver and bacon and two kid's sausages and chips, followed by a chocolate mousse, lemon meringue pie and a kid's brownie and a kid's ice cream. The mains were fine, but nothing special. The liver seemed to be mixed with beef, which was unusual. The chocolate mousse was more like blancmange without much flavour and the lemon meringue had a strange texture. Friendly staff and good service. Good value.

Unlike any fish and chips I’ve ever had - tasted very fresh and not too greasy! Would 100% recommend, also perfect portions

Pub local apropiado, muy buena comida estándar del pub - tenía pollo schnitzel que era crujiente, caliente y sabroso, y mi marido tenía gammon, huevo con patatas fritas que habían sido retirados del menú en un pub favorito anterior - servicio rápido, bebidas traídas a la mesa muy rápidamente. Solo los inconvenientes para mí eran pedir a través de la aplicación de mesa que es conveniente e imagino que hace la vida para el personal y la cocina menos compleja, pero realmente elimina las interacciones personales que hacen una muy buena visita. También alfombras muy cansadas y parcheadas con cinta adhesiva, pero eso no es mucho para pagar con el fin de mantener un lugareño adecuado. ¡Gracias León Blanco!
