Sunday lunch was dire , one of us pointed out an earwig resting near the pork joint . That was not the problem the veg looked soggy so I thought the parsnip looked brown the Yorkshire was like cardboard but worst of all was the gravy really nasty dinner and left it all . Inedible No comments from the waitress £23.50 at least the starter was edible . This is the last time I eat at the parkway never again .

Visited as a party of 15 for my mother in laws’s 80th birthday. I would highly recommend this venue for an occasion with multiple age groups as suits everyone with enough atmosphere but not too busy. Service was good with a large choice of vegetables on the carvery. All hot and a nice touch is that once you choose what you would like the plate is carried to the table for you. We were not rushed and even though not the cheapest option it was worth it for our party. Only small negatives but the bar service in the lounge was really slow as only one server and it can get quite hot in restaurant with the full length windows;We just pulled the curtains across. Have booked again to go as a family in December

Great choice of items on set menu. My homemade soup was a delight. Carvery was plentiful, hot and very tasty. Cheese board was a meal in itself. David and his staff were superb very attentive and friendly. Christmas atmosphere in the restaurant. Looking forward to my next visit. Covid rules in place and felt very safe and comfortable.

On arrival shown quickly to our table, staff were helpful , friendly, efficient and eager to please. Food served with fantastic portions, delivered piping hot and in quick time. Quality of food was exceptional. Choices were varied but limited due to current restrictions in staff etc; but what was provided was first class.

As mentioned in a general review of the hotel, the food in this restaurant was absolutely stunning. The salmon starter came with pearls of dill gel - very refreshing, an excellent idea. The baked halloumi and roast lamb were both fabulous. Tarte au citron was tangy and gorgeous. Can't recommend it enough. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we were lucky enough to meet the Chef and congratulate him on the food. The prices are extremely reasonable and this is my new favourite restaurant.

I've dined here twice recently and I must say I was not impressed atall. The carvery meat was very dry. Rock hard inedible roast potatoes and gravy like tar. I opted for the steak on my 2nd visit. It was very tuff and tasteless. Thankfully the glaze on top gave it some flavour. The chips were frozen which I do not expect from an establishment like the parkway. The starters and desserts were lovely though.Service 5* ambience 5* Main meal a let down unfortunately

We opted to visit because of the carvery. Wow, it was absolutely delicious and huge portions, a mix of beef, pork and turkey. Lovely veg too, a great mixture of options, and all properly cooked so they had great taste, looked fresh and yummy. Great cauliflower cheese. We had starters too, delicious chicken liver mousse. The girls who worked in there, and the chef, were all so friendly and welcoming as well which made the evening even better. Would definitely go back when we visit the hotel again.

Loved everything about this restaurant. A beautiful well dressed room, a great staff, a smalish menu with some very nice items on it. My wife loved the Pork Wellington, and I went with the Carvery, having missed a chance at a Sunday Roast earlier in our travel. The staff brought out 3 beautiful cuts, and the chef cut me off a slice of the beef to try while I was waiting in the line at the cutting table. One of the most amazing pieces of beef I had the pleasure of trying. He then cut me some of each, a nice Yorkshire, and a selection from a vast array of vegetables, that were just great. A fruit piece for a starter and a very unusual presentation of an Eton Mess for desert and this was the best meal I had in the UK this trip. Thank you folks.

Have been to this place dozens of times but our last visit was indeed the last after a waitress spilled wine over three of us. As she was a young girl we didn't make a fuss because she was in tears over the incident. You'd expect a manager to come and take charge and offer some sort of recompense as there were 3 potential sets of dry cleaning bills to address for a start. We were moved to a new table as the original was soaking. We ate our meal at the new table feeling pretty damp but with no sign of a manager coming to enquire how we were. In the end I called one over and asked was she aware of what had happened. She was it seems. I asked why she didn't speak to us about the incident and it seems that she didn't think it necessary to explain that the hotel would meet any bills. She didn't apologise or discount our bill in any way and even over-charged us until I corrected her! The whole experience left my party furious and we vowed never to return despite having been loyal customers for years. By the way, the food is good here but we won't be tasting it again I'm afraid.... I've delayed writing a review of this place as I needed to compose myself before even attempting to!

This would have been a 3 but the excellent food more than made up for the pathetic service during our meal (which is a common theme when eating and drinking at the Parkway). Lack of people management is clear and staff came across as pretty clueless. We ordered from the à la carte selection, where we were spoilt for choice. We both had the crab starter, then I had the steak, which was cooked nicely rare, and my wife had the halibut - also cooked beautifully. I had the cheesecake for pudding and this was excellent. We enjoyed a good bottle of wine with our meal. Service is just not slick, with our starters arriving before our drinks - this is a basic error. A little bit of training would not go amiss in order to have service matching the excellent food.

Have had meals in the past here and they have been OK, this was a totally new experience!! Ordered from the A la carte menu having the truffled white onion soup to start which was delicious! This was preceded by bread that was brought to the table without ordering it, sadly both brown & white breads were so nice we polished it off before the starter appeared! The bread was served with butter too - have 'spread' will not eat it! For mains decided on the butter poached halibut......there was a very generous portion of fish which was cooked to perfection!! Did wonder if the garlic butter & pickled red cabbage would overwhelm the halibut but it was a perfectly balanced plate. Ordered mashed potato which did have a few lumps in it so clearly not passed through a ricer. And had seasonal vegetables - they were cooked to my liking being al dente and my only comment here would be the size of the broccoli had one huge piece and several much smaller pieces but this is purely aesthetics! A really impressive meal which left me pleasantly surprised given previous experiences! In terms of service the staff were all very young, and a tad inexperienced however polite and attentive.

Visited as part of a party, the restaurant was only a quarter full lots of empty tables. Service was very slow. The starters were ok like last year the swede was cold and. I complained but no hot swede was brought. The ice cream was ok for the desert. We had the teas and coffee at the table. The lounge was deserted.

Fui con mi familia que fuimos desde lejos. Yo cortésmente pidió comida de los menús se muestran en las mesas. Me dijeron que no había comida hoy, ya que el chef estaba demasiado cansado! Me fue desestimada con un solo gruñido. y scowl Esta fue una sorprendente acción como estaban siendo otras personas sirve bocadillos y patatas fritas. Como una persona profesional que ha utilizado el jubilado instalaciones aquí antes, y haber comprobado la web antes de nuestra visita, estaba muy decepcionado de mi tratamiento en esta temporada festiva. Qué manera de tratar a los visitantes de Gales. Hay mejores maneras de tratar con la gente, y es inaceptable tratar a las personas de forma diferente. Definitivamente no recomendaría este establecimiento y no cambia sus puertas de nuevo.

Fuimos para asados de navidad, el melón estaba bien, persona que tenía la sopa dijo que eramuy picante. El carvery estaba bien el sueco que tuve fue frío el resto de las verduras era cálida pero no caliente. Tuve ensalada de frutas que estaba bien, pero me habría gustado una crema con ella. Tomamos el té y el café en el salón que se echa para nosotros por un cantante que había tanto ruido que no podía mantener una conversación.

Lovely fresh food, excellent service and reasonably priced for what we had. We were staying overnight at the hotel and decided to book for lunch.......we were glad we had booked because it was vey busy........probably because it is so good! Excellent all round!

Siempre la calidad excepcional de la comida, sin embargo las pocas últimas visitas vimos una notable disminución en el servicio, en la medida en que se preguntaba si visita el restaurante de nuevo. Fue vergonzoso y muy raro de siempre tienes que parar los camareros, y pide repetidamente para artículos de la orden. Visitamos última noche, domingo, con 2 huéspedes, y qué mejoras! Había un supervisor, que se encargó que todos los huéspedes sirvieron rápidamente, y en todas las etapas de las comidas de 4 platos los camareros se aseguró de que nuestros platos estaban despejadas, y todo era rápido nos trajo a la mesa, y que constantemente nos preguntó si queríamos que necesitábamos o cualquier otra cosa. Dave Poole, el supervisor personalmente nos preguntó si todo fue de nuestro agrado, y nos hizo sentir que nuestra clientela era realmente valorada. Este nivel de supervisión era claramente deficiente en visitas anteriores, el cual mostró. No dudaría en recomendar Ravellos nuevo - comida fabulosa, con buena relación calidad-precio y atento y bien entrenados camareros, bien supervisados.

My wife and I went to a new years eve bash at the parkway last night 2014, it wasn't one of the themed nights that they have,! but there was about 20 with the party we with, with easy listening music and decorated tastefully throughout it seemed to be a good recipe for a great night !

Being a regular visitor to this restaurant I have found over the last several weeks that the service and food have improved immensely. This I think has been down to Becky who I believe has become the supervisor accompanied by Michael and floating around in the background is the lovely Nicola. I mention these names because I think they deserve the recognition of putting this restaurant back on the map as they say. The service is now 4 star -keep it up folks -see you soon.

I wrote a review about 4 months ago, stating the sunday carvery was disappointing as to service, although the food as excellent. Revisited Sunday 4th October, and the service was vastly improved. The food was excellent, as always, however the standard of the staff and quality of service was exceptional. Well done.

This is a 4* hotel with Ravellos as its restaurant. We have been here before on a Sunday for the carvery and had an exceptional experience so decided to come back again. We dined her on 07 Sept 14 again for the carvery, however we were left very disappointed with the whole experience.The biggest downfall was the service which was not co-ordinated, and rather slap dash. Normally you are shown to your seats but this time everyone fended for themselves which left you then waiting to be served for drinks and for someone to take your order. Once your orders where taken they seemed to forget about you which left a large wait and a prompt to get your drinks and starters. Then it was another long wait for them to acknowledge you to go up for your carvery. Meat was beautifully cooked, however the waitress serving the vegetables was very skimpy on what she served for example I was given 2 roast potatoes, 1 sprig of brocolli, 2 florets of cauliflower cheese and a couple bits of cabbage, so I asked for a bit more, then the drama of the gravy this was sloshed all over my plate so that everything was swimming and the waiter who had to then get my extra sauces was struggling to keep it on the plate. I asked for some of the gravy to be removed to which they plated me up a new dinner with even less than was originally intended. For £42 for 2 meals this is disgusting. I would say that on this occassion the staff and management really let themselves down. But on the plus side the food is and was delicious. I would give them another try as like I said the first experience was exceptional.

Ate here while staying at the adjoining hotel.First thing, we were sat down, and it took them a good while to offer us a drink. On looking at the menu, it was very expensive, and the vegetarian choice was poor. But the food was good when it arrived. As a result of expense, and lack of interesting options, we did not do starters or desserts. Another positive, they have a choice of real ales, which one does not often see. So overall this place offers good food, with limited choices, and at high prices.

Have eaten here for a variety of reasons over the years, this time for a birthday meal. The carvary has always been of a pretty good standard, as have the vegetarian choices. But this visit saw a new menu, with poor vegetarian choices, of only one main choice and the carvary was like over cooked school dinner, the soup was grainy like the leeks weren't washed properly , it tasted terrible. The sweet trolley was always good with a varied selection, so much so it was hard to choose, this time poor choice, poor quality. In fact I feel I would get better at the Toby down the road. Service fine , but genuine customer service , not a patronising tone can be the difference between fine and excellent customer service. I feel like I have lost a good friend in that I could always rely on the Parkway for a good level of service and food. Close to home, my business and years of trusty service. Farewell old friend I'm off to spend my money else where.

I recently visited the Castle Y Bwch and had a fantastic experience and meal! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a cozy charm that made us feel right at home. The staff are attentive and friendly, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. You can tell the food was good quality, fresh and prepared there and then. We left with full stomachs and happy hearts and we cannot wait to come back again! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a lovely meal in a welcoming setting. Well done team Castle Y Bwch!

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast here this week. I’ve actually been a few times and it’s always been good. The service feels like whomever is hiring or training the staff, really wants them to care about their customers. Both of us enjoyed our eggs benedict and watermelon iced tea. The eggs were perfect and runny. Yum. We noticed that there is a happy hour with cocktails, so we might try that next time!
