I only stopped by for a coffee and thought that the cappuccino was excellent. I also loved the warm yellow decor and spacious interior. The toilet was clean and pleasant. Service was professional and friendly.

Our two night stay was excellent, the staff were very pleasant and very helpful. The room was lovely and cleaned every day with clean towels. Only one fault was that the bathroom was quite cold but it was bearable for the time we were in there. The food we had was really good and they have an extensive drink choice behind the bar. Car parking at rear and central location, 20min pleasant walk to Annan distillery.

Had a trip down memory lane in Annan with my family and went for lunch at the Café Lounge Bar in The Corner House Hotel. Ordered lunch, two young men were seated at the table next to us, one of them coughed the whole way through his lunch, not once did he put his hand over his mouth!! When they finished they went to the bar to pay, neither had masks on but one put his on half way down his face, they paid then ordered cakes to take out and never once did the man serving ask them to put their masks on!! When we finished lunch my brother went to pay and forgot to put his mask on, the man that had just served the two men ( obviously locals ) said to my brother " you've not got your mask on sir" my brother immediately put his mask on, both my sister-in-law and myself said to the man that he never once asked the two men to put their masks on, his reply was that he hadn't noticed!!!! I don't know how as he had been talking to them both for 10 minutes. Obviously one rule for local people and another for visitors!!!! I certainly wouldn't go back.

Pleasantly surprised by this little gem, recommended by a local.Homely and friendly with tasty freshly prepared food. Had soup and a sandwich which was really nice. Get a great view of the street below. We arrived at 2.59pm...not realising til we had ordered that they finish serving at 3pm! Phew...we wouldn't even have realised as, No one made a grouch or a grumble, or an "I'll check with the kitchen" before taking our order. So they get an extra star for the hospitality of not making customers feel like they are putting staff out for arriving at end of service. I would go back.

We can not recommend this lovely little coffee shop enough. It's right on the high street, convenient free car parking nearby, head up the stairs and find yourself a window seat. We had coffees and cake. The Americano coffee might have been the best tasting coffee i have ever had. Not too strong, certainly not weak. A rich smooth taste with a clean palate and a subtle aroma. We shared the gluten free vegan lemon & ginger cake. It was moist and full of flavour. Beautiful cafe interior with some artwork on the walls to catch your eye. The young lady who served us was friendly, nothing was too much trouble. A definite hidden gem of Annan

We have been using The Corner House for our Sunday brunch for the last three months or so and I had forgotten to review it so am putting it right today. Right in the heart of Annan its part of the Corner House Hotel. The menu is quite extensive but as importantly is the service which we have always found to be brilliant. The staff are very friendly and it is clear that is a popular meeting place for many of the locals. Normally we will have a soup and half baguette and curly fries and wash it down with a tea and a caramel latte that all comes in at around £15.00. Excellent value for money, very relaxed and the perfect place to start your Sunday.

The corner house café is easily missed being upstairs from the entrance but this has become a favourite place for a light lunch after a walk. The service is friendly and the food good and at a sensible price. the view from the upstairs windows looking down on Annan high street is pleasant. All in all well worth a visit

This is one of the very few comfortable places to meet a friend for coffee in Annan. The choice of cakes is limited but the staff are very friendly and it's quite. Coffee is drinkable but not memorable. I have used the events room for a poetry prose event in the past and it was a really nice space to use, with staff who could not be more helpful and a nice bar .

We popped in here Saturday afternoon for some scones, toasted teacakes, coffees and teas. The food was very nice but at first there was a mix up with who was serving as there was only one girl doing everything but then someone else appeared. Lovely little spot looking down on the high street.

I do quite like this place but the service is kinda of in your face, nice but grows tiring. Puts me and others I know off visiting this place as the man waiter means no harm but is kind of annoying and it makes the environment not very relaxing, he is also quite out spoken such as when you order a Diet Coke he always...Always comments on how one has chosen diet which is not really appropriate. Almost everything I have a had soup it has been cold and I've requested twice in one serving for it to be reheated and it was still just warm. Due to this it puts the idea in your head it's been taken away to be spun in a microwave which isn't really desirable. I had a baguette which came with a side salad this didn't really fill me I feel it needed more maybe crisps or something it was a bit boring

Visited on a Saturday afternoon about 2.30. Seated ourselves at a lovely table overlooking the high street and made selections from the menu which stated things were available until 4 pm. Waited 10 minutes. No one came to take order so went to the bar to be informed the chef had gone home and sandwiches and paninis no longer available. So this could have been lovely but lack of food and poor service meant that this was not a great experience.

Nipped in to the Corner house Cafe Lounge for lunch, and wow was it so worthwhile, the cafe itself is up a flight of stairs just off the high street, was fairly busy, and filled up quickly. They had a choice of 4 homemade soups, which we had as a starter, I had chicken and leek, parents had a lentil, and a tomato sweet chilli, absolutely beautiful, it comes with a great hunk of crusty bread, we also had ordered the macaroni cheese and chips, for mum, dad wanted a Bolognese pasta bake, and I had beef salad. I can quite honestly say we struggled with the main meals as the soup is so filling, very big portions. Gave the main meals a good shot, and everything was perfect, again the portions are very big! Will definitely definately be back, when we,'ve lost a few pounds, haha. Not expensive at all, good front of house service, and nice view of street from large window seats.

This restaurant is part of Smiths hotel at Gretna Green. We were in the final days of our holiday in Scotland and wanted to have a special meal. We were staying at the hotel and saw this had good reviews. Well it didn’t disappoint. It was good that you could pick and mix from the a la carte menu and the bar menu. Every course was very good. Because we had courses from both menus I didn’t think it was too expensive. The service was good although it was very busy with other events going on. The staff were kept busy but were still attentive to our needs. Would recommend if you want something special or just for an evening meal.

A super bed and breakfast with a lovely vegan curry and home baked ecclefechan tart in the bar which had an open fire. Steve and Mary looked after us like a mum and a big brother. Could not do enough for us including a very welcome lift to and from hoddom Bridge as we were walking the annandale way. And a packed lunch to order. Will recommend to all, especially walkers.

We ate here and finished our meal, the waitress cleared away and we decided we'd have another round of drinks before leaving. We waited 5, 10 minutes and the waitress never came back. I went in search of someone but couldn't find our waitress. I didn't like to open the doors to the kitchen. We waited another 5 minutes and my wife said 'this is ridiculous' and went off in pursuit. She found our waitress in the bar (was she watching TV, did she fancy the barman?) and asked if we could get some service. The waitress said 'the restaurant is closed', as if we were being unreasonable in expecting to be served a round of drinks. No, the restaurant isn't closed if you've still got people sitting at a table you're serving and you haven't asked them if they want a dessert or offered them the bill but simply buggered off. So we said OK, can we just pay the bill. Which we did, and obviously didn't leave tip. We won't be going back.
