Great food and service for the price

Had an excellent meal at The Plateau. It was a little difficult to find above Waitrose, but once there we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. My wife is celiac so they made every effort to make sure her needs were taken care of. The quality of the food was very high, tasty and cooked to perfection. The ambience of the restaurant is very pleasant, particularly on the balcony overlooking the square. Finally they treated my daughter to a birthday surprise at the end, which was totally unexpected and a lovely touch. We will definitely be going back and I'd thoroughly recommend this little gem to anybody.

The Bear hotel is a lovley old building. Staff were very helpful and food was good.

We had quite high expectations ahead of meeting friends at the Grill having heard some really positive feedback from friends locally but I won’t lie, we have reflected on our evening tonight and feel quite deflated by the experience really…. We were a table of 6, 5 adults and 1 child…. Firstly the drinks…. We were impressed that the restaurant offered bottomless soft drinks. None of us are real drinkers so paying an extra £1.20 each seems really reasonable. When our first round of drinks were delivered to the table we were presented with bottles of Diet Coke. We told our waitress this didn’t seem right as we we expected these would be on drought but we’re reassured this was correct. Unsurprisingly at the end of the meal, each bottle of coke and lemonade were listed on the bill. The waitress told me the bottomless option was no longer available!?!?! I was obviously really frustrated by this…. Secondly the food….The main courses were nice. Perhaps a little small in terms of size of burgers etc but the food was tasty. My wife who is gluten free was a little disappointed that her burger had no cheese for some random reason compared to the rest of us but we were all pretty happy with the taste of what we had chosen. Thirdly, desert…. The only gluten free option was toffee brownie which my wife opted for you. No exaggeration it was the size of a two finger kit Kat for just under £8. Compared to the other deserts our group had, it was absolutely tiny and really out of proportion with the others. Again no complaints on taste here, it was just a bit odd. Lastly, the service…. Clearly it was a young team looking after us this evening and all obviously working really hard but it was sloppy, from drinks being spilt, being quite rushed to order drinks while we were waiting for our party to all arrive, cutlery not being offered for desert, also a sarcastic laugh from one member of the team when we enquired about the burgers being gluten free if we removed the bun?!?! While this may be an obvious yes, it’s so important for us to ask these questions and felt a little belittled by this reaction. The meal came to £200 for the 6 of us, all with 2 courses and a few drinks (owing to the issue with refills) I wouldn’t say this is unreasonable for us all but as per my opening statement, we were just a little disappointed by it all and it’s a shame the issues we list don’t reflect the quality of the actual food in terms of taste. I hope the above comes across in the balanced way I had hoped and the restaurant finds these comments constructive to help their ongoing business.

Had an amazing evening at the Terrace celebrating my 30th birthday with my family and friends. James the owner was so attentive from start to finish and I really appreciated his professionalism. The venue is just the most gorgeous venue in Shrewsbury looking out over the river! Very classy. Thanks to all the team at terrace for the very yummy food and drinks which went down extremely well with all of my guests. Thank you again xxx

Visited this restaurant last night with some friends wasn’t sure what to expect as although we have visited Finnegans on a number of occasions having heard that the restaurant now had a Tapas and Al La Carte restaurant alongside we decided to try it, so pleased we did the food and service was exceptional with both Ollie and Karen making it that much more special with their fantastic friendly service and professionalism making sure we felt really welcome. We had both the Al La Carte and Tapas between us and both were amazing can’t wait to revisit definitely highly recommend 5 *

Coffee looks like they forgot to put the coffee in and doesn’t even taste of coffee , need to change supplier or install a new machine

El peor doner kebab de todos los tiempos. Hecho fuera de la vista, por lo que no estoy convencido de que provenga de un lugar. Calcule que está en el microondas. Sabe a carne de salchicha extraña. Sin ensalada. Fui a comer a las 10, con patatas fritas y bebida. Pequeña porción de patatas fritas. Muy decepcionado. No volveré.

Outstanding value and service. Love their lunch and dinner options. Quality beers on tap Asahi and Meantime. 👍

Really friendly and nice food. They even let me eat in which was really nice of them since I like the atmosphere. Would definitely order again ❤️
