Amazing food, amazing service, best meal Iv had in a long time

The food wasn't as good as the reviews suggested, and many of the dishes lacked flavour and were too sweet. In our group we ordered tom yum which tasted sub par, the green curry, which was too sweet but average, I order the pad thai and that was way too sweet and not very flavourful, unfortunately the worst pad thai I've had. The staff seemed ok though, but sadly the food wasn't to our expectation.

I couldn't fault the service from the staff but unfortunately the food didn't live up to a traditional Indian curry. I have visited several Indian restaurants across the country, including personal trips to India, and yes we have westernised Indian food however, I have never tasted a chicken tikka masala (CTM) with onions through it even though the base is/can be made with onions, this was not authentic and the fact I do not personaly like onions, which was the reason I choose CTM. Staff requested to inform them in future to have it blended. Sorry I'm looking for a traditional CTM. Will not be back unfortunately. To reiterate the staff were very helpful.

We always love the food at Bonoful. Our favourite curries in Edinburgh. It is classic with some great twists. For the time we lived in the area, we have felt so lucky to have this place nearby.

Monday night curry with my husband. Lots of great selection of dishes to choose from the main menu and they also had a mid week special menu. We chose from the main menu, portions were a good size and dishes were very tasty. We ordered a king prawn puree to share for starter and was plenty. The lamb madras was the right level of spice and meat was very tender, we also had a chicken tikka pathia which was delicious with is sweet tangy first bite then spicy kick afterwards. Would definitely recommend for a place to go during the week for quiet curry or looks like a great place for larger groups at the weekend. Will definitely be back.

Everything was wonderful until we received the bill and the ten percent service charge was automatically added to the bill. When asked, that was the tip, which we could have happily declined if we had known what it was. When paying by card, we immediately removed the device. But I also saw that we should have used the opportunity here to give XYZ tip. This means that we Germans, who like to give ten percent tips for good service, would have ended up giving twenty percent because we would have been ripped off without being informed. We think that's a shame in such a great, vegan restaurant. This has never happened to us at any other pub in Scotland, where everyone was always nice and fair and we were happy to tip. But we think it's a shame to be ripped off like that.

Used to order here a lot, food was excellent and absolutely faultless. Then last few times it was nowhere near as good, final straw was one night I collected just before it closed midweek, it was the worst Indian food we have had. Unfortunately won’t be eating from here again but gave it 3 stars for how it used to be.

I have been here several times with my partner as the food is superb. Great atmosphere and good staff. The only thing that let's it down slightly is the wait for a drink. Our past 2 visits our food arrived before our first round of drinks. If the bar staff were to work half as fast as the kitchen, there would be no stopping this place
