Excellent!!! We are from the Dallas in the US and have alot of Indian spots, this outdid all the Indian places that we’ve tried. Great aloo gobi cook perfectly. Mother said her lam combs were cooked perfectly and not chewy at all! Highly recommend!

Can’t rate this restaurant highly enough. Staying in Edinburgh, we chose to take away. The food was absolutely delicious; a perfect meal. The staff so very polite. Had we more time we would’ve eaten in as it appeared super relaxing. Thank you. The best meal in ages.

Ordered take away from this restaurant , ordered some chicken Momo’s, fried momo and fish pakoras. Momo’s were average portions were very small, disappointed when we saw fish pakoras portion ( 3 pieces) and cost £6.

We came in front m the street after seeing a good review online and got a table easily. We had really lovely food here and good service. Food was adjusted to spicy ness that we asked for.

I wanted to dine in but because I was visiting so asked for takeaway as I was going to have a long drive. I asked the lady for fried momo not steamed but ended up getting steamed momo. I was very disappointed and the chicken momo had no flavor at all. The vegetable momo were better but the tomato chutney tasted very bland. I don't think I would recommend coming here as you are not getting your money's worth. it is over priced as well.

Jolly decent grub to be had here. The tandoori chicken was superb - falling off the bone. Light and more-ish breads. Tasty pakora, even if the portion size was small. Well-presented curries with precise flavours. Friendly staff and reasonable value for money, considering the location. Drab dining room. Very tatty stair carpet en route to lavatories.

Good service, great food and wine. We visited early evening in the middle of the Edinburgh Fringe and had a lovely meal. Great vegetarian options too. Busy family atmosphere and reasonable prices.

As well as the staples - and what you’d expect from the menu - there are some great additions - Momo dumplings, a satay and other Nepalese delights For the mains - the lamb dishes were stand out and the breads - roti and Naan - light and so fresh Portions are huge so don’t over order Sides of tarka dhal and sag aloo were huge and we reluctantly had to leave some behind Great range of beers - try the Nepalese one - Delish. Cobra also on draught Great atmosphere and great location if you are up for the Fringe

Drinks were forgotten, food was forgotten and when it did arrive after an hour it was really average. Needed a search party for the chicken in my Tikka. The staff were inattentive and took ages to clear plates. Basically they couldn’t have cared less. Not at all busy so no excuses. Notice they only respond to good reviews.

Ordered two different curries which tasted almost identical despite having very different descriptions. Tasted very watered down as well which was a shame as there were hints of good flavours, but obviously trying to make the curries stretch over many orders on busy nights. Slow service and repeated questions for the same items, so not worth the above average cost

Visited Namaste Kathmandu in Edinburgh on a Tuesday evening during the fringe. Was able to get a table straight away and the service was brilliant. Quick and friendly. The food was good, and I would return here again when visiting Edinburgh

Absolutely delicious food! Service was quick and wait staff was very helpful in helping me choose from the menu. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant if you enjoy Indian cuisine.

I am visiting Edinburgh, I tried this restaurant for lunch, the service starts at 12, and we entered around same time with few other customers, after giving our order around 12:05, there was a very very long wait, there seems to be only one or two waiters. we ordered veg samosa, Lamp Thali, Mongo Lassi, Veg Rice, Cheese Naan, Paneer Makhani etc. Portions sizes were large for Thali, rice and bread, however the accompaniment gravy portion size was not enough for rice alone, lamb curry taste was good. Veg rice was too bland not spicy, not tasty at all, Samosa was good, lassi was good as well. Ambience was good and some light music, but this is not the place if you are planning to visit other attractions. the food will be heavy, and longer wait time.

Place deserves more than a 4.3 rating. Just had dinner here and it was delish👍🤤

I'm really bored by so many Indian restaurants which have almost exactly the same menu, and I needed a change. Namaste Kathmandu has a more interesting menu, has a really good selection for vegetarians, their prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. The spicing of all the dishes I ordered was satisfyingly complex, and nothing was oily. Several of the dishes I ordered seemed to have the same components and taste, and everything had a slightly sweet tinge. Several of the dishes I ordered were outstanding: the mixed beans soup was unusual and refreshing; the tarka dhal was the best I've ever eaten, and the kulcha - I chose the onion version - is utter heaven. I would have given my review 4 1/2 stars if I could have. I will definitely be ordering from them again. I just did order from them again, this time adding their paneer shashlik: I'm not a huge paneer fan, but this sounded interesting, and I really liked it, and will be ordering it again. Again, the tarka dal was utterly stunning.

Really nice food if you are in the area. The meals we ordered were tasty and slightly spicy (fine for a non Indian eater;) ). Service was ok, but not the best I have seen such as the atmosphere, but still very good food.

Good food, I love the chicken tikka masala

I got a table straight away in the evening and was impressed by the food! Very tasty Nepali-Indian cuisine. I found it a shame that side dishes such as rice or naan are not included in the price of a main course. I would raise the prices of the main course and list the side dish included. The staff was really friendly and very attentive! When I'm back in the city, I would like to try the thalis here again.

Indian food is better than many indian restaurants in the UK. Service with happy faces, nice ambience, food is rooted, authentic.

Sooo lovely! Me and my boyfriend enjoyed our starters and mains. We had Nepalese starters Vegetable 'Momo' which are dumplings. We both had a mix of steamed and fried ones and they were tasty. The curries were lovely and spicy, helped us being all warm and cosy. And it's really good that this place has plenty of vegetarian dish choices as well.😃

A must visit restaurant. We had a chicken thali and one of the lunch specials chicken curry + rice. The server was very helpful with great recommendations! Prices are affordable and worth it. Definitely recommend lunch here. The setting and decor reminds me of India. Food was of great quality and quantity.

Great food. It was super crowded, so we were seated in the basement. Even so the waiters never kept us waiting.

Was very disappointed with the staff food was fine but the service was terrible I was having my food they didn’t asked me and just gave me bill they don’t know the manner and how to deal with the customers.

Good food at a reasonable price. Of course, I found the beer expensive (a pint of Cobra for €6.5). The bread is great. The correct service and location. The photo is of a Mutton Thali, which I found a bit bland. Those in the group who ordered them said that the dumplings were very good (steamed, not fried). I had never been to a Nepali and I liked it

A cozy place that serves Indian and Nepali food. The staff are dull and non responsive. Some food items are priced high like a roti for 4 GBP

The food was delicious and the portion was quite generous. Naan bread was very soft and the curries were pretty good too. Would strongly recommend their Thali.

Waited over two hours for our order. I demand a refund and compensation. Not the restaurants fault - phoned them 4 times to chase the order and it was lack of couriers. Completely unacceptable.

The menu was good especially the variety of momos. Anjou organised the table for a large group (and our black Labrador) and they were all very welcoming.

We ordered steamed Momo, Kathmandu beer, khukura ko sekuwa and more which came on total of £52.69. Momo came without any sauce and as a Nepali I know Momo always come with dipping sauce, ordered Kathmandu beer but received Gurkha beer instead and sekuwa was packed and came with two big chuck meat which was undercooked inside. Had to throw half of the ordered meal. Very disappointed with this, I don’t know whether it’s by mistake but they should at least call back if it was mistaken. Never will I ever go back to this restaurant and I shall never recommend this to anyone. Please go somewhere else for meal if you don’t want to waste money :(

Food didn't arrive at all, just eat app said it was delivered when it wasn't. When I called the restaurant I was told it was my problem and I would have to contact just eat to try to get a refund so I've basically just had £40 stolen from me and been told it's my problem.

I could not fault this restaurant! As soon as I arrived, I was greeted and welcomed into the restaurant by an incredibly polite and hospitable waitress. Immediately, I was brought a fresh pitcher of water and a glass before even asking for this, and this was very well appreciated as I'd been travelling all day! The menu was comprehensive, and so I elected to initially only order a starter before I decided exactly what I fancied. The bean soup was amazing, and I was so glad that I had it! It was helpful that the waitress explicitly asked about spice levels as my tolerance is very good, so the dish really hit the spot! I asked for some specific dishes that I would have at home, and the team were more than accommodating and most happy to make these -- in fact, I had the best peshwari naan I've had in a very long time there! The menu had an excellent array of both vegetarian and other dishes, though I elected to have a vegetarian meal and was not disappointed! Everything came freshly prepared, spiced to my liking, and *gorgeously* presented. I think the portion sizes were quite generous, too. The bathrooms were spotless. After my meal I made a point in thanking the staff -- it was truly a fantastic meal! The owner's family were very lovely and conversational, and I was so glad to have found their wonderful gem in Edinburgh! Next time I visit the city, I am sure to return! Thank you so so much for a fabulous experience!

One of the best Nepalese Indian restaurants in the heart of Edinburgh near Edinburgh Museum. Variety of vegetarian options available with delicious taste and quality. Very humble and polite staff.

We called in early on a Saturday afternoon. The welcome could have been friendlier but we ordered and we’re looking forward to our food. All in all the food was very average quality indeed. My chicken curry didn’t have a huge amount of chicken in it though it was ok. My wife’s Lamb dish was mostly bone and inedible gristle with barely 4 mouthfuls of actually edible meat. It was pointed out to the waitress but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. I really wouldn’t visit again

The first delivery driver never collected the food and pretended to deliver it. The restaurant were great about this, sorted out a new driver and made sure the food was hot. Great food and service from them as always.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch here. The chicken biryani, korma and samosas were delicious.

As Nepali, i would rate that the food was really bad. Momo was so blank, no spicies at all and dry and wrappers were too thick. Chutney was really bad too (smells weird no nepali flavor). Kukhura ko masu, was disappointment. It tasted like Indian curry; we Nepali dont use suger in our masu, but the masu was sweet and chicken pieces was really dry. I was really craving for nepali flavour but this resturant was really disappointing. I am never ordering anything from you guys again

Service was absolutely fine and setting nice. Starter of chicken pakora was a bit crispy and the chicken tikka was two bits and fairly tasteless. Main course. Chicken madras which was very bland, not spicy and could have came out a jar. Other main a Rogan Josh was better.. I certainly wouldn't be rushing back as it wasn't cheap.

I had the best Samosa Chaat. Veg momos were good too. Then on the same day I had dinner and enjoyed that as well. Glad I stopped by. Highly recommended place if you want to taste Indian food with food quality at a reasonable price.❤️❤️

Restaurant sympathique mais le rapport quantité/prix n’y est pas. Les portions sont trop petites compte tenu du prix; les plats sont servis sans accompagnement (ni naan, ni riz…). Personnel aimable, service un peu long. La cuisine reste bonne mais le curry est assez sucré. Good restaurant but the disges are small and served without any sides; look expensive for what ut is but cooking is good (curry is very sweet) and the staff is very nice although it is a bit long to be served.

Order wrong - received the chicken/cheese dish instead of malai murgh tikka ordered.

Food was ok the Tarka Daal was very runny almost soup like and not worth a main course price. The chicken tikka masala and garlic chilli chicken were pretty bland in fact almost tasted the same. Have eaten in the restaurant and was impressed but tonight’s carry out was definitely below par.

Mid evening meal, busy but not excessively. Service very polite and flat breads very good. However on paying remium rate for an indian trestaurant the main point is to recive a delicious curry, which this was not. I do not rush to criticise but the curry tasted like a corner-shop curry sauce jar. Many meals gain approval here, which is good, but some do not as is seen on reviews. Wrong meal, wrong night in our case, no magic factor.

Amazing food and pretty fast service! We ate it all so fast! Only complaint was that the music was some 60 second-ish track that kept repeating itself the entire 45mins we were there and it got quite annoying.

I ordered, and paid for, the main course poleko kukhura but only got the starter portion. Really nice food as usual, but very frustrating to pay for a main course and get a starter portion.

Me and my girlfriend went in here for lunch. It was fairly quiet and we wanted something small to share. So we went for the Momo chicken starter and a chicken curry to share. The food took a long time to come out and it was fairly mediocre. The staff were pleasant but the atmosphere was kinda of depressing and the only light I could see was from the window. It is not that cheap either. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Just go to a different restaurants, there is plenty of other places.

The staff were friendly amd helpful. The food was okay , I ordered a chicken curry in hot spice level but they brought out a mild curry, they had no problem switching it , but the service was very slow and when we asked for more roti our food went cold waiting for it .

We had booked a table for 6 people and, despite the restaurant being very busy, we only had to wait a few minutes to be shown to our table. The service was excellent and we were served promptly for starters, mains and drinks. We ordered a variety of starters and mains and everyone was delighted with all of the food we were served. Finally, the place had a great, buzzing atmosphere and the prices were very reasonable. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Late night dining after an event at the fringe. The service was good and the food was not bad but nothing exceptional. There are better Indian restaurants in Edinburgh. The worst part was that we were charged £1.50 for a very small onion! That did it for me. Not on my list of restaurants to go back to.

A lovely restaurant with great service and excellent food. Spoilt for choice. One tiny suggestion. A little more sauce with the satay starter please. Would have lifted it from very good to superb.

We were made so welcome by the lovely staff. We wanted to eat quickly. We had a fantastic meal and were really well looked after. Pickles were amazing and our Nepalese main courses delicious. Thank you!

Highly recommend this place for Indian. We ordered Paneer Makhni and Chilli garlic chicken, both were great! Their tandoori roti and paratha are made from whole wheat flour and are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, exactly how it is made in India.
