Great food. Pad Thai was the best ever had. Very satisfying

The massaman curry and rice was pretty good. The pad thai had so many dry chilli flakes, it was practically inedible. My throat and lips were burning. Not pleasant, very uncomfortable. It's a shame as I have had the pad thai from here on more than 5 occasions, either sit in or delivery, but this time it was not good. The bottom of the container had over a teaspoon of chilli flakes still in it. UPDATE: In response to the Owner, on this occasion, my purchase was by delivery, so there was no refund for the dish or replacement, so I feel like one of your staff members has either been mistaken and this has in fact happened to another customer as well, or is telling fibs

We had the beef salad, chicken skewers and Thai crackers followed by a red and yellow Thai curry. All excellent. We are coming back before our trip to Edinburgh ends...

Delicious food at fair price! Friendly staff and cool atmosphere.

I got a take-away chicken green curry and coconut rice. There was about half a chicken breast in there, Ting Thai could do better for the money they're charging.

We sat by the window which was freezing because there is no insulation whatsoever and the glass is very thin. 2/4 dishes were cold upon arrival. Also one thing that left us a uneasy was that the waiter handed us the soup which was filled to the brim and his fingertip touched the liquid. Overall, not satisfied.

Some great food but let down by not being very well-run. They didn’t have the drink I ordered, or the second choice I went for, and they ran out of lager while pouring my friend’s pint so another friend had to have something different instead of lager. Another friend ordered the IPA and it never arrived, even though he did ask the waiter two more times for it. They then put through the wrong dish for me so I had to send it back and they then cooked the thing I’d actually ordered but it arrived after all my friends had finished eating and so they were just waiting for me. The first (wrong) dish was not nice - some kind of broth - but the second (correct) one - beef noodle soup - was good, although so salty that I couldn’t finish it. My friends enjoyed their food. Overall I wouldn’t bother going back.

Food was nice. We tried this place our visit last week. Food and ambience were good but we were disappointed by their service. We were given a different menu which had cheaper prices -which was probably their day menu or weekday menu(their mistake). Once we asked for the bill, we noticed that the prices were higher than for what we had ordered, which is when we asked for the menu again. This time the staff got us the menu with higher prices (probably their weekend menu or evening menu) and 4 of us had to pay a higher amount as they pointed that the (new menu) rates were correct. This left us a bit disappointed by their service.

This restaurant was so cute! The staff was very pleasant, the atmosphere cozy, and the pad Thai was delicious!

Great vibe, super friendly staff - food is Blinkin delicious! I love that fact they use boxes to serve some food. How clever and all about recycling! Plus, less washing up! A little different. Not traditional - that’s what makes it special. Thoroughly recommend!

We come here all the time on our lunch breaks and we love it! Pad Thai with a soft egg is always a winner.

Tuvimos una gran comida - pero definitivamente comimos en exceso - currys rojos y verdes tailandeses y también un pad thai entre 2 de nosotros. Realmente lo disfruté y tiene un precio razonable.

The Pad Thai had no real flavour apart from burnt oil. It also feels wasteful to serve food in takeaway boxes to people who are sitting in. The music was way too loud, but staff was friendly and helpful

The standards for service are out of this world. The staff are amazing and always accommodate the services you need. Fantastic people overall should really visit this place!

Normalmente Ting Thai ofrece una gran relación calidad-precio, comida de estilo callejero. Hemos comido aquí un par de veces en el pasado y normalmente la comida es buena. Desafortunadamente, esta vez fue pobre. Las gambas burbuja normalmente excepcionales estaban sobre cocinadas y rodeadas de una masa flácida - no la excelencia crujiente de visitas anteriores. Los platos principales eran indiferentes, sin los sabores ponzoñosos limpios que el restaurante normalmente ofrece. Superb food and staff. I had belly pork in massaman sauce with potatoes and peanuts and it was beautiful. My wife had pork moo yang (I think!!!) We also had chicken wings, boiled eggs, and sweetcorn fritters, and all of them were very good indeed. We also both had drinks. Staff were also very good, and service could not be faulted. We will definitely be back.

The BEST Thai food and great value! I come here every time I'm in Edinburgh and have also eaten at the Teviot Place branch. The music is a bit on the loud side, but with the wooden stools and stark decor, that's the sort of vibe they're going for. It has a relaxed, casual vibe and some of the food is served in boxes, just to note in case that bothers you. It's the best though! The service is good at Ting Thai and they have loads of great dishes, including ones you don't normally find on Thai restaurant menus in the UK. It's far better and much more authentic than places like Chaopraya in my opinion. I had crispy chicken with a spicy chilli sauce over rice, but their noodle soups, beef salad, curries etc are fantastic too. It's really You won't be disappointed with anything you order here, and if you come before 6pm the food is even cheaper with a lot of dishes under £10. I dream about this place sometimes, don't hesitate to go. I'm obsessed.

I have been in ting thai Lothian Road today 5.10.2024 at 16:40 and I have to say food is original - like in Thailand (tasty and worth to come ) but service /waitress was extremely rude (no please ,no thank you , no sorry when the food came different than ordered) unfortunately it was not the first time but for the first time I thought that was one off . I know it is a street food experience but street level service should changed at least minimum of manners please. Today I was in ting thai Lothian street on 5 10.2024 at 16:40 and I must say that the food is authentic - just like in Thailand. (delicious and worth coming) but the service/waitress was very rude (no please, no thank you, no apology when food came different from what was ordered). Unfortunately this is not the first time. But for the first time I thought that was a mistake. I know it's a street food experience. But street level service should change at least minimum manners.

Thanks to Google reviews, I found this place. I wasn't disappointed! Pad Thai is delicious!!! Lots of delicious sauce, al dente pasta, expressive, spicy, huge shrimps :) And Yam Sam Krob - shrimps again (what!), squid and crisps topped with a nice spicy sauce. Fried, not rubbery! Excellent!!! Close to perfect 9/10 ;)

Fast, casual, with a real buzz to the atmosphere. The line-up moves quickly, the food is hot and fresh, the service is friendly. So it has all of the attributes of a good "quick casual" restaurant. We visited during the first week of students arriving back to Uni so there was a young and excited demographic eating there.

This is a great dinner spot! Bea was a fantastic waitress and the food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back again

Incredible place for a quick bite or a group meal out. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Service is fast and the food is top notch. Best Thai food I’ve had so far, cannot recommend more.

Food is tasty! But at what price? - They serve food in cardboard boxes full of forever chemicals/PFAS (Google how good they are for your health) with boiling hot food inside, even if you eat-in and specifically ask for a plate. - They prefer to discard a ton of non reusable boxes of rubbish per day to avoid cleaning up the dishes. Stop profiting on the environment.

Popped in for a quick lunch, service was first class and our servers Ashah Tash and Hannah couldn't do enough for you. More than happy to talk us through the menu and give their recommendations. I had the pad ka phrao with seafood and it was out of this world. Fantastic afternoon will definitely be back.

Surprisingly good. I went there with my son last week. Great service and very reasonably priced. Tasty, simple food with no frills. Very good indeed for a fast food restaurant and no pressure to rush off.

Giving 3 stars as been coming here for years but for a while now the pad thai I normally order barely has any veg in it and the noodles are overcooked. I paid £8.90 for my lunch today, which is a lot of money for just a box of noodles and few pieces of tofu. I love this place so I hope the management reads the review and makes positive changes in the kitchen. Service is always fab!

Best Thai food outside of Thailand, 100% the best in Edinburgh!

The chicken dish with jasmine rice was extremely dry and probably from previous days as it was cold inside and tasted of cardboard. Rice was good. Also the menu says 5pounds for pint but I paid 6.80 for some reason.

Came here as I was seeing a fringe show. The most friendly staff! The girls were so busy but made sure we were looked after and couldn’t have been nicer. food was very tasty! Had the Jungle soup and the bubble prawns. Would really recommended this place if you are visiting Edinburgh!!

Been here a few times and have always had a great experience. Last time I was in I was served by a lovely girl called Natasha. Defo would recommend!

Have used the Ting Thai Caravan on several occasions, have noticed the food quality is going down. On last visit, we noticed the menu price had gone up by a large percentage. When waiting to be served, the waitress continually ran her finger through her hair. When she served our food, I noticed that her thumbs were in the food bowl and also saw the same happening with other customers. Therefore I will not be visiting this place anymore.

Anyone who’s reviewing this 5 stars obviously hasn’t had proper authentic Thai food. We had 5 dishes and it was the worst Thai food I’ve had in Scotland. Nice atmosphere and service was decent but food was full of msg and packet sauces. Chicken and pork was dry and tasteless. Tom yum was clearly out a packet. More like tomato soup. Very disappointed as we walked a long way for it after seeing it on food review club ( who clearly haven’t got a clue) and we won’t be back.

This restaurant has an amazing atmosphere. Everyone is very relaxed, this creates an amazing environment to eat in. My friend and i thought the prices were amazing for the amount of food given. The pad Thai tasted great and had a lot of shrimp too! Staff where friendly and always open to help if i had any questions.

I was really excited to visit as I have heard great reviews. However, the service we have received just ruined the experience for us. Despite getting seated first and ready to order we had to wait for an order to be taken, while people getting seated after us were getting their food. We looked at the staff who were obviously not that busy if they had time to chat and laugh at the bar. We ordered still bottled water, but didn’t get it. Upon reminding we were told to refill the jug by the counter, which we did not want that’s why we ordered the bottled water for which we are paying. I understand the Thai street food vibe, but then take orders over the counter and do self pick up. Otherwise what’s the point of having servers when they are sliding the food on the table without a word and walk away? Not the most authentic Thai food, but it was alright. Veg pad thai had too much liquid that it filled the box (but flavours were good), crispy pork skin is not fresh but rather from a bag so it was limp. Might try again, but at the original establishment. Hope the service there is better.

We were a party of four & had eight dishes. Mostly they tasted very similar, relying on the ample toppings of raw onion, tomato and sliced chilli for flavour. The food didn't taste Thai (except for the Masaman curry); it was just blah. Maybe they had run out of the right ingredients. The service was poor; it came with no smile and no engagement. I went to Ting Thai because I'd read some good reviews and I love Thai food, but it was a big disappointment. I wouldn't recommend.

The service and the atmosphere are great, the food is very reasonably priced, but also it’s nothing to write home about. If you want a reasonably priced comfort food that get you over for the day this is not a bad place.

Food was delicious and staff were welcoming and attentive. But the experience was dampened by their issue with bar flies..... we noticed one or two while waiting for food and by the time we were half way through, we were flicking them away from our food. Maybe an issue with beer pipes or all surfaces including walls need deep cleaned. A shame as I would have given 5 stars. The food was beautiful nonetheless but doubt we will return for a while

Super delicious Thai food in a (too) hip place for me. There are only starters and main courses available, so no desserts or coffee and/or tea

This is the taste of southeast asian food, highly recommended. For around £5 I would buy - Tofu J (crispy tofu), - Nam Tok Nua (beef), - Kai Look Kuey (egg), or - Gai Cha Plu (chicken). All come with fresh vegetables and are nicely flavoured and spiced. There are three options of rice: Jasmine, Coconut, and Fried. You get free water which you can refill in a jar.

Recommended by the guy I was meeting for lunch. It was so good, I had belly pork which was cooked well. It wasn’t advertised as cooked with chilli so the waitress said she would add on the side. Overall excellent and will be back when in Edinburgh next. Great service and really tasty!

Came in today for the first time ! Such a picky eater but loved the Garlic noodles and tofu. Staff so nice and helpful. Tash, Ashah, Hamish and Dave were lovely. Music was great too! Will definitely be back.

Been to Ting Thai at Teviot Place and had great food so whilst in Lothian Road thought we go in. Glad we did, food was excellent and service was fab. Met Tash the manager who was super friendly. Definitely will be back!!

Flies kept circling me and other guests. This was a frustrating experience I ordered a noodle dish and asked if there was tofu in the veg option. I was told yes. When the dish arrived it was served in a takeout box (“street food style” the server said) and i could only find 1 piece of tofu. Disappointing.

Food was good, the king prawn pad thai is always enjoyable and great value at lunchtime. However the volume and choice of music was more appropriate for a rave venue, and it made it difficult to chat to my friends. I also took exception to the grading of the tips to service going from 10% which I think was deemed as acceptable or similar and suggested service wasn’t amazing. 10% has always been a perfectly acceptable tip in the UK, it’s not exactly a red carpet, silver service type of place anyway. It would put me off going back.

Pretty unattentive service, but read that that’s the vibe they were going for. I agree with someone else’s comments that I should be told i have to refill my own water. My Pad Thai was pooled in oil, so not my favorite but okay flavor. prawns were good!

Wow!! First visit and we will be back. The vibe is amazing the food is fantastic (I am the fussiest eater ever so I am not saying this lightly) just wish I had room for more!! Our server was Tash and she was bright, bubbly and explained the dishes and recommended a couple that I would never have chosen,,, but I was actually blown away. Being pescatarian is not easy when going for food but this place caters for all. You will not be disappointed 💕

Best Thai kitchen in Edinburg!!!

The pad Thai was ok, if a little greasy. The place lacks atmosphere, probably related to the staff rushing you out. I had barely finished my meal when the bill was brought, no one even asked if I wanted anything else. I found the service poor and pretty rude. I won't be back.

Honestly the food is so good we’ve been twice in 3 days on a 6 day holiday. Our server Tash was great! Definitely a favorite in Edinburgh.

Stopped here for a quick afternoon bite. Servers were nice but not attentive. The food was ok. But why serve something in a to go container when you are clearly eating in and the other dish comes in a bowl. Small nit that we are in Scotland and they only had jack Daniel’s for whisky. On the service. I’m happy to refill my own water but please just tell me that up front.

Such an AMAZING atmosphere here, a gem on Lothian Road, was served by a lovely girl called Tash, who made sure everyone in my party was well fed and looked after, will definitely be coming back!!! Staff were beyond helpful and the Tofu was delicious!!

Really lovely atmosphere, welcoming staff and the food was great. Came here with two 15 year olds and they loved their Prawn and Pork Belly Massaman curries. I’m a vegetarian and there were plenty of options for me too. Jugs available for tap water and although the restaurant was busy the service was attentive and the food arrived quickly. Would definitely recommend.

We asked if a dish had nuts because we were ordering for someone with an allergy, we get told no nuts in this dish. Ok good. We get home and it’s covered in nuts. We said sure maybe we weren’t clear enough, so we went back and asked for another one, this time specifying please no nuts. Paid again, receipt says no nuts no chilli. We get home, open it and it’s covered in nuts and chili. Unreal
