Pho in Edinburgh, City of

Came a week ago with a friend and we were served by Hana (i’m sorry if you’re reading this, i know it’s late!!) but she was absolutely wonderful and made us feel so at home - the sweetest soul ever, will be back not just for the amazing food but for the perfect service :) x

Really great place to eat at. Had the chicken and prawn noodles which were very flavourful with good portions. Staff were professional and very understanding. Specifically a guy called Pete who provided very good customer service for my friend and myself. Would recommend

Great Pho, authentic, lots of different sauces, great music, service spot on. Oga was lovely. Will return often having been once 👍

Great Vietnamese food and staff

Loved dining at pho tonight, the atmosphere is warm and inviting and I was immediately seated. We were served by Molly who was super lovely and attentive. I ordered the coconut pineapple martini which was probably the best cocktail I have tasted. The food was equally delicious and will definitely be coming back x

Came in and were immediately welcomed and seated. Nice atmosphere to the restaurant. Our server Molly was lovely - very helpful in guiding us when selecting from the menu. Food was brilliant, especially the baby squid starter. 10/10 would recommend.

Delicious food (as I’ve always found to be the case with Pho), but the service was awful in this branch… 1hr 15 mins from arrival to a bowl of pho being in front of us. The waiter slopped one of the bowls across our table, the floor (and himself) and didn’t utter word of an apology, or come back to clean it up. After rushing through our food, I asked for the bill with a clearly inferred sense of urgency (we had a cinema booking next door, with the film starting 2 hours after our table booking…) - in spite of getting to the point where we were so late that we were literally sitting on the edge of our seats with coats on, our waitress continued to wander round serving other tables for quite some time. By the time we did actually pay, we simply didn’t have time to politely challenge the “optional” service charge that had already been added to our bill.

Came in to a lovely atmosphere, staff were friendly and the food was great. Came out quickly and came back to check in. Served my Molly and she was lovely. Overall a great experience will be back!!!

We had a lovely lunch here, our server Tyson was very amiable. The photo shows the Curry Prawn and Pho Xao Beef Noodles. The sauces on the side made a great addition to the dish. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try Vietnamese food, we'll for sure be back soon. 😁

Disappointing experience - not worth repeating We chose this restaurant because of the many good reviews and the long queue outside, which gave us confidence that we would have a good meal here. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. After entering we were quickly assigned a table, but then things went wrong. It took a good 10 minutes for someone to come by to take our drinks - or so we thought. In reality we had to wait 45 minutes, and only after we asked ourselves were our drinks finally brought. As an apology we were offered a 50% discount, which was nice, but did not make up for the inconvenience. Not much later we saw that the table next to us, who had ordered after us, received their food earlier. When we inquired about this, it took another 15 minutes before our food was on the table. It wasn't particularly busy, so the long waiting times were incomprehensible. When the food finally arrived it was disappointing. The soup with steak and noodles was bland in taste and the portion on the small side. The wok with steak and noodles had the same problem: little flavor and no special preparation. All in all, we give the food a 6.5/10 and the service a 4/10. Despite the discount offered, the overall experience was not positive. Not a second time for us.

Absolutely delicious and amazing for my macro goals - all their nutritional info is available online and their selection is super healthy. I had the chicken summer rolls and the chargrilled pork rice bowl. Leo also took great care of us and made our first visit extra special. This will definitely be our go-to place for takeout going forward (sorry Wagamama!).

service is so bad i cant believe it

I’m very disappointed with this restaurant’s approach towards delivery drivers/riders. They don’t allow drivers inside the restaurant, forcing them to wait outside for long periods just to get any attention. On top of that, it takes at least 10 minutes to reach the restaurant from the parking area, making the process even more inconvenient and time-consuming. This lack of respect and consideration for the riders who work hard to deliver food is unacceptable. It creates unnecessary delays and reflects poorly on their management

The food is great! One of my favourite places in Edi. However, the service is null sometimes I crave Pho and I decide to walk in but I regret wasting my time. you’ll be waiting in the queue for a long time even though they have availability ( clean tables), you’ll be ignored by their staff and you’ll be served with such attitude by the ( new wee girlies). It’s time to look for a better place, good food, and most importantly smiley and welcoming staff.

Visited Tuesday the 21st of Jan for dinner with my mum. Leo provided excellent service and the food was ohenomenal as always!

Visited Pho twice now and will keeping come back, especially for the pork and lemongrass meatballs. Service is always friendly, shout out Josh for keeping us fed and watered and talking cinema!

Popped into Pho for lunch and had a couple of dishes which were delicious and arrived quickly. Josh was our waiter and was attentive and helpful. It’s my first time being there but will definitely return.

I have a dairy and gluten intolerance and I could eat, except for the spring rolls, everything on the menu. And on top of that the Hot&Spicy chicken Pho was delicious!! Izzy (I hope I wrote your name right), one of the kind servers, recommended it and it was the best choice. 100% would recommend and will come back.

Excellent restaurant at more than reasonable prices for the center. The pho soups are excellent. Very good service. Be careful there may be a wait! You have to arrive quite early, book the day before or be patient but it's worth it!

Wow! 1st time here and the food, service and everything was stunning. The staff were attentive and chatty but in a really welcoming way, Eden was our server and I’ve never experienced a staff member who had went out their way to make sure I had the best experience quite like him. We had the steak and garlic pho and it’s was so good and the flavours were so perfectly balanced. My friend I was with had the coconut and pineapple margarita and said it was beautiful and I had the dragonfruit lemonade and that was perfect not too sweet and not too sour just right. Will be back again!

Absolutely amazing Pho. We try to find a pho everywhere we go and it never disappoints. Staff were incredibly friendly and walked us through the menus, and were very informative about allergens at all times. Drinks and food were incredible. We will definitely be coming back.

My favourite noodle soup in town. We have tried others but keep finding ourselves back in pho for the friendly staff, their accommodation of my allergies and the warm atmosphere. Highly recommend

Food was overwhelmingly spicy and rather bland. The service was worse, guy with red hair serving was unprofessional and lacked basic customer service. Will not return due to this experience.

If you have self-respect avoid this place! After walking in and taking a seat at a free table we were ignored by ALL waiters and left 10 minutes later. Nobody made eye contact with us, nobody cared. Later we noticed, that a queue has built in front of the restaurant and people were ignored as well, although the restaurant was almost empty. Waiters were just walking around, cleaning tables with no rush at all and talking to each other. They just make customers feel like nothing. Never ever experienced anything like that.

Had a wonderful meal at Pho in St James’s Quarter! The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. A special mention to Aileen, our waitress, who provided exceptional service—friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Highly recommend both the food and service!

Left feeling slightly disappointed with our experience at Pho. The soup base was underwhelming and lacked bone broth flavours. It was also much saltier than it should have been. I understand they probably went for the healthier method of making their own beef meatballs, but they were of a mushy texture and was a strange take on the classic chewy, bouncy beef balls typically seen in a bowl of pho. The pho came with the usual beansprouts, basil leaves and lime, but also came with mint leaves and instead of the classic jalapeños, they opted for red chilli's instead. No waters provided for the table - thought that was standard in the restaurant trade? The starters were decent enough - springs rolls and fried squid. They just failed to nail down the quintessential bowl of pho.

I ordered a large lemonade, and my friend ordered a large orange juice. When we went to pay, I was shocked to see that my large lemonade cost £9, and the quantity was listed as 2, even though I only drank one. The staff explained that because it was large, they counted it as two servings. However, my friend’s large orange juice was only counted as one. Clearly, there was a mistake. Even after I pointed it out, they still insisted that I pay and even tried to deceive me. It was only when I asked to check the menu again that they finally removed the extra charge. If I hadn’t noticed, they would’ve just made me pay without saying anything. This place definitely discriminates based on race — absolutely unacceptable!

Lovely warming food especially on a freezing cold day. Lot’s of veggie / vegan options and most of the menus is gluten free. Our server Josh was very friendly and welcoming too.

Had a lovely meal; spicy 3 mushroom Pho, and summer rolls and veg spring rolls, and the new smoked fish offering at the bottom of the menu (that was great!) Everyone was lovely and attentive but especially Josh who took care of our table was always mindful of our needs and really made it such a nice night. We came at 6:30 on a Thursday, short wait, but by 7:10 we could see a big line up outside, so I’d suggest coming a bit earlier if you prefer not to wait. Yum yum!

Ordered the spring rolls, summer rolls and beef combination pho! The summer rolls are fresh while the spring rolls are crispy!! The pho is good,but the beef itself is rather chewy and not the best. The soup is very good though! This location is right within St James Square, so very easy access to everything after shopping

First time in this restaurant. Eden was very welcoming , great at service, knew the menu well and was able to give us good advice on what to get . Will be back next time we are in Edinburgh
