Enjoyable experience and nice food.

Seekh kebab is superb. Tikka chicken very nice and tender. Naan could do with more cheese but also very nice.

sadly below par......we ordered garlic naan and both were plain, I don't think the tikka masala was the correct dish as it didn't resemble any i have jad before and everything was under seasoned. Very disappointing and not a cheap treat. sadly will not be ordering again from here.

The food was amazing but over an hour early!

Food arrived fast and was nice and hot. Taste was a bit too generic though, lacking any depth of flavour that make a good Indian curry stand out.

Was a regular customer for many years, but the recipe for their entire Tandoori grill range has changed from once the best in town to one of the worst we have ever had. The only thing which was still good is peshwari nans, all meats tasted terrible

Jalfrezi was watery and bland, korma was ok. Usually order from here but the last few times has been really poor so won't be ordering again for a while.

I have ordered here before and it is usually good.. The North Indian garlic chicken did not taste good at all, you couldn't taste the usual spices and had very very little chilli. I hope this does not happen again or I will not go back.

Abida has to be our favourite! Looking forward to a sit in visit to its sister restaurant soon

Great food, great people. First time I have ordered to my home rather than my in-laws and it was still perfectly on time despite being a bit further away. Set meal for 1 option is easy to miss in the app so make sure you seek it out and have a look. Always 5 stars!

I have ordered 12 items mixed of vegitarian and non veg food but it was not all good. Samosa was bad Onion pakora was too oily Chicken wings was hard and bad taste Paneer butter masala was too sugary and paneer was too hard Not even single item was good Very much disappointed with this quality 😞 waste of money

Restaurant which formerly also served as collecting point for the Abida takeaway. *Formerly*. If you want to collect your order, drive to the other site. Still, very friendly staff which called the other site and had them deliver my food to here. Restaurant seems to have quite an atmosphere, and has a very nice ceiling decoration. Food rating is for the takeaway food *not the restaurant*.

Order came late after it said it was already delivered. When I phoned restaurant to tell them it hadn’t arrived after I got a notification it had been delivered the man on the phone was dismissive and rude. He told me that they are just busy and kept interrupting me. I was trying to confirm that the driver didn’t give it to wrong address but the phone operator was unable to communicate with me without interrupting me to say they are just busy. I had to just hang up and hope order was coming. Eventually it arrived and it tasted awful. Lamb is chewy and fatty sauce is bland and the pakoras veg&chicken and clearly frozen cheap rubbish. Same with the garlic naan. Would not recommend at all 0/10.

After calling 3 times and being told the driver can’t find my address. Eventually after an hour wait our meal arrived I had to give a blast in the microwave but the food didn’t disappoint beautiful 👏

Lots of great reviews for this place so we gave it a go. Overall it was okay but spoiled somewhat by tasteless, chewy unpleasant chicken in all 3 dishes. Bhuna was a bit meh….lacking in herbs.

When this place first opened it was so good sadly it’s went downhill badly. We ordered food and was told it would be 50 minutes then we get a email saying it’s going to be another 30 minutes so phoned restaurant and simply put we were lied to. Girl on the phone said it was out for delivery and would would be another 10 minutes then it was 30 minutes ended up another hour don’t believe it had been made never mind out for delivery. Not ever using them again which is a pity as they used to be so good now sadly so bad.

Pakora was in a box full of oil. Chicken dry . Currys not good. Naan full of grease. Won't be using again

I ordered a load of vegan curries, they were all delicious and the restaurant wrote that the curries were dairy free and vegan on each box. Highly recommend!

Abida's food is very tasty but the delivery was very late. A few minutes before the estimated delivery times end, I got the message via Just eat that the food was delivered, enjoy. But after that it took actually about 45 minutes and 2 phone calls to get our food. Also nobody I spoke with on the phone or the delivery guy apologised for the delay.

Since discovering Abida I seem to order at least once a week. Pretty much entirely for the Chefs Special Tandoori Chicken Tikka Main -- great dish if you want quality. The food is always hot on arrival. I've ordered from them around 10 times in the last two months.

Food was cold when arrived. Bread was burnt and vegetable pakora was soggy. Really disappointing.

Takeaway. On time. Food portions generous and tasty. Prices decent.

Had a really tasty veggie chilli garlic dish and my wife had an equally as tasty veggie biryani from here last night. Tasty food, fast delivery, easy to use website, very reasonable price and the deliver guy was very friendly too! Will definitely use again! Thanks guys :)

Ordered a Korma as it’s the mildest curry as I’m not very good with spices but it was far too spicy so couldn’t eat it. I regularly eat Korma from other Indians so I know it’s never this spicy. Very disappointed as was really looking forward to it. Won’t order again I’m afraid

All freshly cooked to order, which I will admit, takes a considerable amount of time, so allow yourself plenty of time. Staff polite and welcoming with a snack on arrival. A sweet treat with your bill. Little touches that make all the difference. Had enjoyed the visit and food was very nice indeed. Recommended.

Food was delicious, lots of flavours BUT disappointed as delivery time came and went at 20:30pm. Responded using app, and new time was 21:05pm to which there was a very apologetic delivery guy BUT my dishes/Nan was cold when it went to eat it. I’ve definitely order again but next time just for collection!

Very tasty, good portion size. I don’t think they use ghee (or at least not much) which means the food is nice and light comparable to some other restaurants. Will order again.

2 tourists arrived in Edinburgh needing a meal. Ordered 2 curries, rice and naan bread, on blind faith from an unknown restaurant and had it delivered to our hotel. No choice but to give a 5 star review. Large sized portions and genuine flavour. Thank you.

Food was tasty, and delivered early

Estimated delivery time came and went, called the restaurant and they said it would be 5 minute max. Another 20 minutes later still nothing so had to call again. Guy said he would call the delivery person. 5 mins later I got a call and got my food. One of the curries wasn’t closed right so there was half of one pooled on the bottom of the bag and covering everything. Food was delicious and still hot. From order to getting food was 1.5 hours. Shame about the service.

Not usually a fan of Indian foord but ordered from this place a couple of times and loved it, very nice meal, reasonably priced, Def recommend

Very much disappointed by Abida, incredibly poor customer service and food arrived almost an hour after it was meant to with no apology. The man on the other end of the phone wouldn’t give us updates and ignored my number after the first call, so much so that we had to get another number to phone which he picked up immediately. Only saving grace is that the food was alright, however not any better than other Indians in Edinburgh, and with the poor service and delivery time you would be better placed saving your time and money elsewhere. First and last order from Abida.

I ordered a vindaloo, and what arrived was not a vindaloo. No spiceys, no heat bland. No spicey onions, chips cold, and soggy. Definitely would not recommend or order again.

Unfortunately meal was delivered an hour late after the end time of the estimate. I’d been advised that it may be 15minutes late But it was a further 45 minutes. I tried calling the restaurant but could only get through to leave a voicemail and even then they did not reply. Unsatisfactory.

Much more than your average take-away. Ordered 4 different curries and each one was unique. Very generous with the fish and meat portions. Had the vegetable MOMO and spicy fish starters, both very good, so tasty on their own they didn't need the dipping sauce. Will definitely order from Abida again and will recommend to others.
