Came in for a wee lunch, the food was scrumptious,seated very quickly despite business, and food served quickly. It was so good and would recomend the katsu chicken to warm you up for a cold edinburgh day. Sasha was the best, and very friendly and attentive.

Not happy at all, I called specificly to ask if I come at 10 if I will be served and I was told yes, I was before 10 and got told its only takeaway after making a 40 min trek and they specificly knew I was coming. Apsolute joke.

Always a lovely experience with friendly staff and delicious food. I’ve been there many times with friends, some of whom enjoyed the many vegan options. I usually have salmon and scallop sashimi which is beautifully presented and extremely fresh and delicious. Also particularly recommended the prawn gyoza. Yum yum. Very reasonably priced wine list with lovely wine. Definitely recommended!

The experience here was very very good. Not crowdy at all which i don’t understand why because the food tasted delicious. The atmosphere was very calm and peacefull. Not at all pricy. A must visit if u like japanese food

Food arrived stone cold. A large order and all of it had gone soggy and cold, total waste.

Nice thickness for salmon sashimi, tasted fresh and sweet. Teriyaki chicken was nicely made, the staff were pleasent aswell. I definitely recommend going here if you like this style of food.

I had their Tonkotsu Ramen and IMHO, it’s in my top 3 ramen in the UK. The service is also excellent, very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely come back here in again if I’m back in Edinburgh.

We love Yes Sushi, we've been coming here for over 2 years now. It's the best sushi spot in the UK. You HAVE to try the tasting menu, and ask what is the seasonal cocktail for sure. We celebrate all our life events here birthdays, engagement, Christmas. Imogen, Lisa, and Sasha have gotten to know us so well and are so so welcoming. We sadly will be moving away from Scotland and we're devastated to leave our sushi family behind. Highly recommend!

Fast and delicious - will definitely order again

Thought the service was very friendly and helpful, but the food was not really of the same quality. Nice enough but we thought not particularly well presented. The table was also pretty dirty on arrival, despite the fact that the restaurant was pretty empty.

Very good service and very good food!!

I was quite disappointed with the food and I had higher expectations based on other people's reviews. We got delivery. The sushi rice was quite bad, it was overcooked and tasted like plain rice (no sushi vinegar flavour). The fish was average, almost tasteless. The packaging was also bad and the pieces had all fallen out of place, and even though this is mostly the delivery person's fault, the restaurant could at least foresee this and put some buffer lettuce or something in the boxes for stability. Overall definitely not worth the price.

Ramen is not ramen. The egg is not specially made with soy sauce. And it doesn't come with any algae.

I had the tasting menu at Yes Sushi for lunch, and it was incredible! The atmosphere was relaxing and staff were very sweet. The service was so quick, as soon as I finished one dish, the next was out. The lychee cocktail was very refreshing.The sushi dishes were the absolute stand outs! The mango cheese cake mochi were definitely runner ups. The price point was definitely reasonable for the the amount of food served and being in central Edinburgh. I will definitely be back!

Have been 3 times now and the food is insane. So fresh and tasty! Staff are so attentive and constantly filling up your water. Very friendly staff. Greeting everyone with a smile. Fast turn around on food. No long waits. Will definitely be returning!

I could say without exaggeration that this is the best Japanese food I've had in the UK. I've been missing it for a while. I can't believe it's so cheap. And the lovely waitress who performed a one-man show at any time. Although I didn't ask her name, I was very happy that she served us. I will come back often. This restaurant makes me yearn for Japanese food. Trust me, it's really worth to give it a shot, you will come back praising it. 😆

Can’t fault their food and service. Generous sized meals, fresh ingredients. We got the salt & pepper shrimp and we agreed it’s the best we have ever had! Also had Chicken Gyoza, Chicken and Pork Katsu - all awesome. Highly recommend!

Best sushi Ive ever had in scotland

Delicious sashimi. The house special is great for giving one a taste of different fish. Wherever I go, I get grilled eel. This place grills eel wonderfully; perfectly captures the texture and flavor of eel. Their Dark Dragon roll is excellent. Definitely try some! Great place.

Never had a bad experience in yes sushi, me and my partner have been a lot of times now, easily our favourite sushi and Japanese cuisine restaurant in Edinburgh, the service is fab and the food delicious, I’m a big fan of the sushi sets they do, great way to quickly order a bunch of different bits to try

Service was excellent 👌. Food came quickly, the waitress always kept tap water topped up at the table (which I never see elsewhere), all staff were friendly and attentive. Food was pretty good and it was very decently priced, especially for Edinburgh and compared to chains like Yo! Sushi. I went for the tasting menu which was a great deal for the amount of food you get and I loved the variety. The lunch deal looks great too. Would definitely visit again!

Had the takoyaki, pork tonkotsu ramen and softshell crab sushi roll. All of which were incredible!

Oh wow! I have never eaten such good value food in my life. Two of us went for a weekday lunch and had the set menu for 2. It only cost us £20😲, for which we got (each) miso soup, 3 starters and a main. It wasn't the best Japanese I've ever eaten (we've been to Japan) but it was great; authentic, well thought out and well cooked and nothing was disappointing (between us we ate a lot of items on the set menu). The staff were really lovely, the space relaxed and comfortable and it's very central. Will definitely go back the next time we're in Edinburgh to try more of the food and have one of their amazing sounding (and beautifully described) cocktails. Very highly recommended.

Sushi was good quality, especially the salmon sashimi. Downside is that there was no chopsticks delivered and very small piece of wasabi and ginger to accompany the meal.

Food was nice good portions for a testing menu, service was very good, smiley staff we enjoyed the meal and atmosphere.

Booked meal for 8pm. App kept saying driver waiting in restaurant. Delivery time kept getting pushed back. Eventually food turned up one hour late. App still saying driver waiting in restaurant.

For the amazing quality and quantity of food you get, I really recommend this place to anyone! The set menu of 8 courses for £20 is a steal. I've eaten at Yes Sushi numerous times and it continues to be one of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh

I have been here twice or thrice before. Nicely priced and sweet atmosphere. Staff have always been lovely as well.

This was perfect! I brought my mom to Scotland because she was born here 75 years ago, and hasn't been back since she was 5. So this whole trip is extra special for us. After travelling from the states for 12+ hours door to door, we were desperate to find somewhere cozy and comfortable to eat at that wasn't super noisy or crowded, and decided Sushi was a easy choice. Yes Sushi delivered! The food was fantastically prepared, the service was quick and friendly and welcoming. I'm sure I'm going to pop in there again while we're here for lunch.

We ate the tasting menu and everything was delicious - it's probably the best sushi I've ever eaten, I savored and enjoyed every ingredient. Furthermore, the treatment was exceptional, they were very patient with our lack of knowledge.

We enjoyed a late dinner here and were not disappointed. Before I get into the food, I’d really like to highlight the exceptional service we received. The staff were so kind, patient and professional. Samantha made excellent recommendations and was just an all round lovely person. For appetizers we had the chicken gyoza and salt and pepper chicken wings. For main course we ordered a prawn tempura sushi roll, the salmon avocado Temaki hand roll and chicken teriyaki udon. For dessert we ordered passion fruit and strawberry cheesecake mochi. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. My favorite was definitely the udon, but if I were ever in town again, I’d order the exact same things. Thank you for a great experience.

I come here all the time and it’s honestly my favourite restaurant in edinburgh. The prices are amazing for the food and the quality of the sushi is so good. Staff are lovely and the cocktail menu is great

Nipped in for a quick lunch. This was decent food. Sashimi wasn’t great, the rest was decent. At the price point it’s definitely worth a try. Service was a bit all over the place though and inside the restaurant is freezing cold. Absolutely no heating on at all. It passes the “would I go back” test but there are better options on Edinburgh but we just didn’t have the time.

They don’t give you soy sauce for sushi and sashimi, instead they give you a strangely sweet sauce. When I pointed out that it was not soy sauce the waitress talked back to me insisting that it was specially blended for sushi and sashimi. I said to her it is not recommended to use sauce like this for sushi and sashimi. She said “I’m sorry you didn’t like it but we’ll continue to recommend this to our customers “. Now, I’m Japanese. She could clearly see that. And still she didn’t take my words as an advice. How ignorant is she! That was a terrible attitude to their customer. I don’t trust a restaurant like that!

Consistently outstanding food that never disappoints

I'd been dying to try this place for ages and finally got the chance when I was in Edinburgh for an event. I opted for the taster menu, which was 8 courses for £24. This I thought I was excellent value. The service was speedy and friendly, I was offered a heater because of the cold weather outside, and I also treated myself to a really lovely cocktail. I wasn't sure if the dorayaki I had for dessert was meant to have come with some kind of sweet sauce to dip in but it still tasted nice without. I also learned sashimi is meant to be served on ice which is handy to know. I'll definitely be back on my next trip to Edinburgh, whenever that will be.

The food was delicious, the service was spectacular and the best of all is that they accepted our dog in the restaurant as they are Pet friendly, something we found difficult being in Edinburgh.

The sushi was tasty, but the set with salmon was disappointing because of its mediocrity... There were just pieces of fish. I also don’t understand why the website doesn’t indicate that the set will include miso soup. If we had known this, we wouldn't have had to pay another £6 for 2 miso soups and have to throw away 2 servings
