Have been 3 times now and the food is insane. So fresh and tasty! Staff are so attentive and constantly filling up your water. Very friendly staff. Greeting everyone with a smile. Fast turn around on food. No long waits. Will definitely be returning!

I could say without exaggeration that this is the best Japanese food I've had in the UK. I've been missing it for a while. I can't believe it's so cheap. And the lovely waitress who performed a one-man show at any time. Although I didn't ask her name, I was very happy that she served us. I will come back often. This restaurant makes me yearn for Japanese food. Trust me, it's really worth to give it a shot, you will come back praising it. 😆

Can’t fault their food and service. Generous sized meals, fresh ingredients. We got the salt & pepper shrimp and we agreed it’s the best we have ever had! Also had Chicken Gyoza, Chicken and Pork Katsu - all awesome. Highly recommend!

Delicious sashimi. The house special is great for giving one a taste of different fish. Wherever I go, I get grilled eel. This place grills eel wonderfully; perfectly captures the texture and flavor of eel. Their Dark Dragon roll is excellent. Definitely try some! Great place.

Never had a bad experience in yes sushi, me and my partner have been a lot of times now, easily our favourite sushi and Japanese cuisine restaurant in Edinburgh, the service is fab and the food delicious, I’m a big fan of the sushi sets they do, great way to quickly order a bunch of different bits to try

Service was excellent 👌. Food came quickly, the waitress always kept tap water topped up at the table (which I never see elsewhere), all staff were friendly and attentive. Food was pretty good and it was very decently priced, especially for Edinburgh and compared to chains like Yo! Sushi. I went for the tasting menu which was a great deal for the amount of food you get and I loved the variety. The lunch deal looks great too. Would definitely visit again!

Had the takoyaki, pork tonkotsu ramen and softshell crab sushi roll. All of which were incredible!

Oh wow! I have never eaten such good value food in my life. Two of us went for a weekday lunch and had the set menu for 2. It only cost us £20😲, for which we got (each) miso soup, 3 starters and a main. It wasn't the best Japanese I've ever eaten (we've been to Japan) but it was great; authentic, well thought out and well cooked and nothing was disappointing (between us we ate a lot of items on the set menu). The staff were really lovely, the space relaxed and comfortable and it's very central. Will definitely go back the next time we're in Edinburgh to try more of the food and have one of their amazing sounding (and beautifully described) cocktails. Very highly recommended.

You have to visit here, meet the lovely people and eat their sensationally tasty food. It's beyond delicious and the tasting menu was incredible. Thank you so much for having us, we'll be back very soon :)

Sushi was good quality, especially the salmon sashimi. Downside is that there was no chopsticks delivered and very small piece of wasabi and ginger to accompany the meal.

Booked meal for 8pm. App kept saying driver waiting in restaurant. Delivery time kept getting pushed back. Eventually food turned up one hour late. App still saying driver waiting in restaurant.

I have been here twice or thrice before. Nicely priced and sweet atmosphere. Staff have always been lovely as well.

This was perfect! I brought my mom to Scotland because she was born here 75 years ago, and hasn't been back since she was 5. So this whole trip is extra special for us. After travelling from the states for 12+ hours door to door, we were desperate to find somewhere cozy and comfortable to eat at that wasn't super noisy or crowded, and decided Sushi was a easy choice. Yes Sushi delivered! The food was fantastically prepared, the service was quick and friendly and welcoming. I'm sure I'm going to pop in there again while we're here for lunch.

We ate the tasting menu and everything was delicious - it's probably the best sushi I've ever eaten, I savored and enjoyed every ingredient. Furthermore, the treatment was exceptional, they were very patient with our lack of knowledge.

Very nice food and good quality-price!

We enjoyed a late dinner here and were not disappointed. Before I get into the food, I’d really like to highlight the exceptional service we received. The staff were so kind, patient and professional. Samantha made excellent recommendations and was just an all round lovely person. For appetizers we had the chicken gyoza and salt and pepper chicken wings. For main course we ordered a prawn tempura sushi roll, the salmon avocado Temaki hand roll and chicken teriyaki udon. For dessert we ordered passion fruit and strawberry cheesecake mochi. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. My favorite was definitely the udon, but if I were ever in town again, I’d order the exact same things. Thank you for a great experience.

I come here all the time and it’s honestly my favourite restaurant in edinburgh. The prices are amazing for the food and the quality of the sushi is so good. Staff are lovely and the cocktail menu is great

Nipped in for a quick lunch. This was decent food. Sashimi wasn’t great, the rest was decent. At the price point it’s definitely worth a try. Service was a bit all over the place though and inside the restaurant is freezing cold. Absolutely no heating on at all. It passes the “would I go back” test but there are better options on Edinburgh but we just didn’t have the time.

They don’t give you soy sauce for sushi and sashimi, instead they give you a strangely sweet sauce. When I pointed out that it was not soy sauce the waitress talked back to me insisting that it was specially blended for sushi and sashimi. I said to her it is not recommended to use sauce like this for sushi and sashimi. She said “I’m sorry you didn’t like it but we’ll continue to recommend this to our customers “. Now, I’m Japanese. She could clearly see that. And still she didn’t take my words as an advice. How ignorant is she! That was a terrible attitude to their customer. I don’t trust a restaurant like that!

Great unassuming sushi and japanese food establishment. Priced well with a very nice and extensive menu, this little spot is a good visit. Also a big shout out to Lisa for looking after our table. Really excellent service.

Consistently outstanding food that never disappoints

I'd been dying to try this place for ages and finally got the chance when I was in Edinburgh for an event. I opted for the taster menu, which was 8 courses for £24. This I thought I was excellent value. The service was speedy and friendly, I was offered a heater because of the cold weather outside, and I also treated myself to a really lovely cocktail. I wasn't sure if the dorayaki I had for dessert was meant to have come with some kind of sweet sauce to dip in but it still tasted nice without. I also learned sashimi is meant to be served on ice which is handy to know. I'll definitely be back on my next trip to Edinburgh, whenever that will be.

The food was delicious, the service was spectacular and the best of all is that they accepted our dog in the restaurant as they are Pet friendly, something we found difficult being in Edinburgh.

Incredible value. Imogen and Axel were most helpful, we opted for the lunch menu and we still can’t believe the value. Excellent service, will definitely be our new local.

The sushi was tasty, but the set with salmon was disappointing because of its mediocrity... There were just pieces of fish. I also don’t understand why the website doesn’t indicate that the set will include miso soup. If we had known this, we wouldn't have had to pay another £6 for 2 miso soups and have to throw away 2 servings

Wonderful staff, Tasting menu was absolutely excellent and fresh absolutely full after. Great value - will go back. Even my 11yr old thoroughly enjoyed it.

Friendly staff and delicious food (even though I found it quite sweet, but that's maybe because they use sweet soy sauce they have- the soy saucethey have was extra sweet compared to a normal soy sauce). I will go back there again 😀

Absolutely wonderful. They don't cut corners, and you can really get your fill of what is likely the freshest salmon in all of Edinburgh for a price that is very affordable for the quality offered. Miso soup is top notch as well.

Super nice restaurant with nice waiters and super food. We sat by the window on the street side and it was lovely. we sat there for like 3,5 hours en enjoyed ourself very much. Would recommend to everyone. We had the tasting menu. I eat vegetarian and the vegetarian food was also very nice, the only thing i disliked was the seaweed salad but that is just personal preference of course! Just overall a great experience.

I ordered chicken katsu with noodles. It was not any katsu sauce at all. Just a lot of oil on the noodles with a few onions, not sauce at all. I called the restaurant to complain, as I used to go to this restaurant, but they just apologise about that, they didn't offer any refund or something. Definitely I will not buy to this place anymore.

Nice Japanese restaurant with great tea! My favourite is definitely the dark dragon roll, it’s so tasty and the portion here is great. The pork katsu is super juicy and tender. The salt and chilli chicken wings are very nice too. The tea here is so flavourful, they blend their own tea which is so amazing! I highly recommend the cherry blossom tea and the mango passion fruit tea. I never had a mango tea that actually tastes like mango. They have plenty of seatings inside, pretty big menu to choose from! Amazing service, everyone is super friendly and welcoming! Great location as well.

Authentic sushi experience, perfectly prepared and great sake

Had the lunch deal which was tasty and very good value. We had the salad with the mixed starters, katsu chicken and teriyaki salmon. Also had the cherry tea which was lovely. Great service would definitely eat here again.

Same of the dishes are are hit or miss. But overall it's okay. If you're familiar with Asian cuisine you're NOT going to be amazed. Portions are quite generous. Prices above average.

Super friendly staff, great food and atmosphere. The sushi tastes fresh and delicious. The restaurant was busy but the staff were so organized and on top of it. The waitress Sasha was very nice and had so much patience with my daughter and surprised her with a free dessert to celebrate her birthday. Highly recommend!

Very decent value, reasonably priced nigiri sushi. Perfectly prepared but not very generous with the pickled ginger or wasabi. Not the tastiest I've ever had but still decent.

Lovely food, lovely staff, not expensive, quiet gentle ambience means you can actually have a conversation. Not the fastest service but not slow, and all made to order so a wait is to be expected (just order a green tea to do while you wait).

Ordered an hour before closing but order was only enroute 15 minutes after the place closed. Might explain why there was no teriyaki sauce on my teriyaki tofu. Otherwise decent food.

I absolutely love this place!!! Incredible food and variety on the menu, they always use very fresh ingredients and the quality shines through. It's very hard to not request for more after my first plate. 🤤 The atmosphere is so charming and comforting, it's clear that there is great pride and passion with this lovely restuarant. The staff are such a pleasure, they are very accommodating with a genuine friendliness which makes my family, friends and I feel so welcome. They always make sure to ask about dietry restrictions and allegries, they take great care in making sure everyone is catered for. This is the BEST place to go for sushi in Edinburgh!!! 💘

This is our 3rd visit and each time we are amazing at the value for money. First 2 visited we opted for the 8 course tasting menus. Could not believe the value for money! Food was delicious. Opted for the lunch menu today and again we were blown away by the value for money. 3 starters each and one main course each for £20! Staff are also lovely

We had the 8 course tasting menu. Truly outstanding and great value for money. The tapoyaki, chicken yaki soba and mochi we're particularly good - but it was all fantastic. It's rare to find somewhere that strikes such a perfect balance of quality and value for money while serving incredible food which speaks for itself. Great staff also!

Delivery man had issues finding the right building. Miso soup was way too salty. Unable to finish it. Soya sauce, wasabi and ginger, not enough. Soya and wasabi only enough for one set (2 sets were ordered). No chopsticks provided. Other than that, the 2 sets were very good.

I have been here many times, and the quality of food has never disappointed me. Lovely selection of sushi, sashimi, hot food, and deserts. Drinks were lovely too and finally, they offer some cocktail selection too. The star of the show was our waitress Lisa (I think that's what her name is), lady with a lovely smile and styled eyebrows 😊 super friendly, funny and knew the dashes, although other waitresses were lovely too and very attentive. Loved the food and had such a good time. Will be back again

me and my boyfriend come here often for lunch and you can get 3 starters and a main for £20 for two!! food is delicious, service is fantastic theyre really kind and friendly, they always ask about allergies, very central location, rheres always space to get a table. the only thing i would suggest for the manager is to change the music as its the same song every time lol

Food was insanely good, gorgeous atmosphere, lovely restaurant. Struggled to choose what food to order with so much choice on the menu, but what we did get was amazing. Sasha, our server, was literally the nicest person we’ve met in Edinburgh — she was so sweet, complimented my makeup, brought us boxes for our leftovers and was just so wonderful. 1000/10 for Sasha from Isla and Shirley x
