We celebrated our anniversary here, and it was nothing short of magical. The table with a castle view was a lovely touch, making the evening feel extra special. The food was simply mouthwatering, and our server Ming was fantastic—super friendly and attentive. The whole staff made us feel so welcome, and the live music added to the perfect atmosphere. We're definitely planning to return soon!

The service was poor, we were placed behind a door near the bar, and no one approached us at all. Despite trying to call for attention, no one seemed to notice. Although there was an absence in that section, it shouldn't mean that staff from other sections should neglect their responsibility. The food was just average; Dusit and Rosa's are still better

We miss our fave Thai Chaophraya in Manchester so we were excited to visit the Edinburgh restaurant when on a new year break. Attentive service, seated in the glass box with lively castle backdrop! The food was just as good as we recalled & we ordered a load of classics including their delicate sweet & sour, classic green curry & starters. Lovely night in a special little restaurant

My husband picked here for our anniversary as he thought I’d like the views of Edinburgh castle and he had been on a business dinner. We arrived early and were seated immediately however we were seated in what can only be described as a corridor, with the cutlery behind me and the toilets along the same corridor - at night you can’t see the views as the blinds are down and we weren’t at the correct side for the castle anyway. Service was slow - in fact we are still waiting on the still water we ordered!! The food is lovely although this also came with its issue - my husband ordered the jungle curry but with lamb not prawns…it arrived with prawns! When we queried it we were told they couldn’t do lamb - at no point were we told that, we would have accepted another protein but it felt like they couldn’t be bothered to change it. The other massive issue was it was freezing - I watched people get their scarves and put them around their shoulders. Would I rush back? Absolutely not! The one in Glasgow is by far a nicer atmosphere.

The atmosphere was so classy and incredible as suitable to be called a dine in restaurant. Taste was good, especially Tom Yam Soup. A little bit pricey compared to food portions, specifically Jasmine Rice. A staff didn’t ask me how food it was and skipped my table to ask other tables instead (my table was between)

This spot was an absolute 10/10. Our waitress name was Chalisa and even though she was still learning, her service was amazing. After my request to make some dishes less spicy, the food was superb. We chose the Wang sharing set menu and it was more than enough for two people. For someone who can't handle spice like me, I'd recommend the 'Pad Prew Waan Gai' And for dessert we chose the 'Chocolate Bombe', they poured the hot Caramel sauce on top and you could see the chocolate just melt. Will definitely come back!

I was turned away from an empty restaurant, supposedly no space for walk-ins. The staff communicated this information in a discourteous manner, which I found surprising given that we were only seeking accommodation for two adults and one child. Overall, the policy of not accepting walk-ins seems ill-advised.

First time visited for brunch It was an Itison deal £36 for a champagne brunch for 2 with hot drinks. We were shown to a lovely table overlooking the castle. The atmosphere was lovely, staff attentive and the quality and taste of the food and drinks were amazing. Enjoyed every minute and would definitely like to return in the future. Thank you

The food was exquisite. One of the best Thai meals I’ve ever had. The ambience was incredible due to the lights and the DJ who was amazing. The service was superb. Lovely waiters and waitresses and barmen. Such a cool and vibey place as you will see from the start with the steps going up and the decor once you enter. I really, really recommend!!!!

Hugely disappointing Thai Basil Fried Rice with a pork - so spicy it was inedible (other than pieces of pork). If you’re going to do delivery through Deliveroo give the customer a choice of spice level!!

Dined in on 24th December. Staff were attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and we had a great view of the castle. A big shout out to the bartender Tana and the waiter taking care of us for being attentive and ensuring our dining experience was to a high standard.

We were seated for drinks and nobody came to take our order within 25 minutes. We left, and the servers all thanked us as we left, never realising they didn't even serve us

I booked this restaurant for a friend’s birthday after receiving a strong recommendation from a family member who had visited this exact location before. I’ve personally been to the Manchester branch, so I was expecting the usual high-quality food and service. Unfortunately, last night was an absolute disaster from start to finish. Our table was booked for 8:15 PM, and we placed our drinks, starter, and mains orders within the first 15 minutes of being seated. The drink service was very slow, I was told they had run out of Pinot Blush wine. I was given the last glass, which was disappointing since it was only option served by glass instead of a bottle. The starters took 40-45 minutes to arrive, which was average at best. On two separate occasions, we were told items from our order were out of stock and were asked to change our order. This was frustrating, as they should have known this when we initially ordered. We begrudgingly made the changes, but after an hour of waiting for our mains, we had enough. By 10 PM, we asked a waiter when our food would be ready since we didn't want to wait any longer. We were told it would be out soon, but we’d have to change our order yet again—this time because they had run out of beef for the Penang dish. They offered a different beef option, but warned it would be tougher and harder to chew. Given that this dish costs over £25, this was unacceptable. We refused to change our order again, which left the birthday girl with nothing to eat. After another 10 minutes of waiting, we decided to tell the waiter we no longer wanted our mains. It just didn’t feel fair for one of us to be left without food. As soon as we said this, they claimed the food was ready, but at that point, we had already been sitting for almost 1 hour 45 minutes. They did take the mains off the bill, but the way the waiter laughed about it and offered us a discount on the rest of the bill was inappropriate and unprofessional. What made the situation worse was the restaurant wasn’t even busy, so there was no reason for these delays. When we asked to speak to the manager, she was dismissive and didn’t want to address our concerns. To top it off, she started speaking in a different language to the staff right in front of us, completely ignoring us, which I found incredibly rude. This was an incredibly disappointing experience, especially for a special occasion like a birthday. Given my positive past experiences with the Manchester branch and the high recommendations for this location, I was shocked at how poorly everything went last night. I won’t be returning, and I can no longer recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Profit NOT the customer is king here. Poor food, but friendly, prompt waiting staff. Nice interiors but very loud acoustics of room; DJ music made the noise uncomfortably loud. Complained about insulting amount of vegetables in curry & padthai but was told "Sorry, but this is how you do padthai..." Charming. Don't recommend if you're over the age of 25 and seek a customer orientated establishment and some 'soul' to your dining experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This Thai restaurant offers stunning views and an incredible dining experience. The Chiang Mai curry was particularly unique and bursting with flavor, and all the dishes were made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. It’s clear a lot of care goes into the food preparation. Our host was very polite and helpful, which added to the experience. However, we did request to be seated at a more spacious table and, unfortunately, were not accommodated. While this was a bit disappointing, it didn’t overshadow the overall quality of the meal and service. I’d highly recommend this place for the food and views—just wish the seating arrangements were more flexible.

The food is amazing here! Super clean and has a lovely ambience. Ate here twice, definitely some of the best food I ate in Edinburgh. Allana was super helpful and informative.

Very poor experience last night. Restaurant was very busy and seemed to be plenty of staff but service was dreadful. Took 20minutes to even be asked for a drinks order, starters arrived after 1½hrs, mains came almost an hour later and by the time we finished desserts it was 3½hrs all in. We had booked the festive menu with prosecco. Were given the wrong menus, was told it didn't include prosecco, was asked to provide proof that prosecco was included. Very embarrassing in front of the group. When they admitted their error, it was too late as folk had already started other drinks and no-one wants to have fizz after red wine. Only had one round of drinks as couldn't get anyone to take an order for more. We were left without cutlery. We had ordered a set menu for the whole group thinking that would be easier but at least 3 dishes on offer were not available. When the food came it was OK although the some items were in thick greasy batter. I did speak to a manager who was very empathetic and reduced our bill. He was lovely and it was clear he wasn't happy that we had had this experience. But unfortunately we won't be back. I had a family birthday booked for end of month but have cancelled because of last night. As we were leaving we heard 3 other tables complain also.

The restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere. Most dishes were good, but the Tom yum didn't meet expectations, and some other items were just average. Overall, a pleasant experience

We were served by Oscar who was brilliant and very attentive. The food was good, however for the price I would have expected it to be slightly better.

Food is insane, view is perfect but the waiter informed us that he has the authority to decide on his own tip. This meant that he could chose the exact percentage that he felt worthy. As a customer, I believe that I should be able to make my own choices in this regard. Quite frankly, I find this rule rather bizarre as the waiter can chose any value. Not really happy about that.

Excellent meal celebrating my daughter’s 21st birthday. Everything from booking to commication leading up to our booking was great. On the day staff were attentive and Cameron looked after us. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back. We were a group of 4 - two couples - and visited on Saturday night. I had booked well in advance and had both text and email confirmations of my booking which was effective. I have been to the Glasgow restaurant and so expected the food to be excellent and it was - the whole restaurant is lovely and it’s fairly big so a bit more space at each table that some other Thai restaurants in town - like say Dusit - where the food is great but all tables a bit cramped. We arrived early and had a seat by the bar where the bar staff took an order and brought drinks across - and added to the Table Bill - very slick. We had the set menu - Chaophraya- and it was fantastic - the states were amazing especially the pancakes and spring rolls. The three main dishes were really good choice - Chicken was spectacular, Duck brilliant and the Lamb curry was good. We don’t usually take dessert but it was included in the set meal - and it was brilliant too On the Saturday the restaurant was very busy and the first course was a bit slow to come out - but they told us the kitchen was busy and it was fine. We had the table booked until 9pm - per the booking - but they never rushed us at all and we left about 9.30pm. Service was good - and the waiters explained the dishes but didn’t linger - we liked that. Excellent location in centre of the city , excellent food and good service.

Really nice atmosphere and very friendly staff! The restaurant was lively, but servers were attentive and considerate and still provided efficient service to us throughout our meal. Some of the meals are a little on the pricier side but the food itself was really good quality. There is a really good selection of non-alcoholic cocktails which were really tasty. Our server was lovely and provided really great service to us. I believe our servers name was Immy (or Immaculate) but I have attached the card given in the photos- she was kind and attentive and gave us timely and helpful service. Had a really great experience here and would definitely recommend.

Really bad quality food. Really overpriced. We feel robbed. Overall quality was the same as any cheap Thai, Asian, Chinese in any corner, nothing special but for the price of high end cuisine. We waited a lot also for our food.

Came to this thai restaurant with my family the restaurant is fantastic great vibe and atmosphere the welcome from the staff was warm and charming we sat down and order when got the food it was out of this world amazing I had a stir fry wow unbelievable my wife had the same my daughters had curry and they said the same service excellent it was my 60th birthday and they bought out a very nice dessert on the house must go to this thai if in edinburgh

It's just such a goooood vibe here with delicate decorations and fancy meals.

The food and service were outstanding. Best Thai in town. My only critique is that the music was a bit too loud for my taste. If you prefer a quieter dining experience, I’d recommend requesting a table away from the bar area.

I can't tolerate spicy food so this was my first visit to a Thai restaurant. The waiter advised me to have Pad Cha I think it was called. Delicious. My partner had something very spicy which she enjoyed very much. Coconut creme brulee for sweet which was so nice I nearly had two. Coupled with the views a décor definitely a place to visit. Also you can see into the kitchen and I think that's very important

We had a fancy and delicious lunch date. Everything was tasty and the view was stunning.

The food was alright. The masaman tasted of nothing. The food was really slow to come out and the service of the staff was pretty poor. No water refills etc. Had to constantly ask for updates. I don't know why it so highly rated. Just go to another Thai ran by some thai locals. For the price it's not good.

The dishes are basically all fusion now not fully thai. The taste was average but not superior to other places e.g. ting thai caravan. Duck was tough, chicken was dry, lamb was too gamey. Sauces were all very nice. Was charged for water which i wasnt impressed by. The kitchen was understaffed and the servers got a lot wrong. Management were very understanding when issues brought to them, so props for that. Would not recommend. Other far better fine dining places

This place 😍 some of the best Thai I’ve had. We got the corn fritters and crispy pork belly for starters and I had the green curry for mains. It was all incredible! One side of rice is enough for two people. Vibes are great. There’s a DJ there playing good tunes at a good sound level and the service is good.

This place is a true gem, right in the heart of Edinburgh. Beautiful rooftop views, fantastic accommodating and attentive staff, impressive selection of lovely Thai classics as well as innovative dishes. Best mango sticky rice I’ve ever had. I’d give it a sixth star if I could.

My wife and I are big fans of Thai cuisine and make it a point to try it in every country we visit, including Thailand itself. So, when we stepped into this upmarket Thai restaurant, we had high hopes. The place looked quite classy – they even placed napkins on our laps – and the staff were friendly and efficient. The meals arrived quickly, which we appreciated. We ordered Thai green curry, beef chili basil stir fry, and some rice, along with two Coke Zeros, for a total of fifty pounds. Unfortunately, the food fell flat. The green curry was watery, and the chicken was so overcooked we had to send it back. The replacement wasn’t much better. The stir fry was overwhelmingly salty, with little more than soy sauce to carry the flavor. Considering how fast the food came out, it was surprising how overcooked the meat was. While the setting was lovely, the food has to come first, and sadly, this was one of the worst Thai meals we’ve had. A flashy restaurant is nice, but it doesn’t make up for a meal that leaves you wishing you’d stayed in and cooked yourself.

Our first night in Edinburgh and the food and service was great. It was me and the Mrs 3rd year anniversary so were greeted with some free Prosecco. All the staff were lovely and couldn’t moan!

Worst ever experience booking this restaurant. We called on 14th October around 8 in the evening for a booking for a table for 15 people for 22nd October, which is a Tuesday, not even a weekend. The staff was unhelpful, and after waiting 8 minutes on the phone, they said the manager had just left and would call us at 9:30 tomorrow morning. No one called back. The next morning I called them and asked for any update at 10 am; they replied, "Sorry, the manager is busy. We'll call you." Around 11:15, manager Daniel called and said if we want to book a table for Castle View, the minimum spend is £3,500. It’s a Tuesday, not even the weekend. How difficult is to book this restaurant for dinner and it’s so expensive as well,

Lovely Thai restaurant with a cool atmosphere and vibe. We had the Wang set menu for 2 everything was delicious and we had to have some of it boxed up it was so generously portioned. Cocktails were great too. The only very minor complaint would be that they didn't put nearly enough sugar on the crème brûlée, I like a good layer to break through with my spoon, and it didn't snap (it was still delicious though!). The service was great, very attentive. Overall a great experience, would definitely go back.

Food was average at best. We had a range of dishes, sauces for which were mostly nice (the sweet glaze duck sauce was pure sugar). However, the food itself (particularly the beef and tofu) was dry and overdone, as if it had been left under a heat lamp for a long period. The wine was majorly overpriced. £40 for a bottle of Sauvignon blanc which tasted almost off, it was that bad. Service was very slow (we were there almost 90 minutes before our starters arrived) and you had to flag down a waiter to ask about this or to get a drink. Our waiter was friendly enough but also borderline rude at times, clearly not very interested in being there. The atmosphere was nice, apart from the “dj” who, unless you looked over to the corner he was standing in, you wouldn’t have realised was there. Volume was less than even background music and the song selection was poor. A Spotify playlist would have been a better option.

This place is great. The food was first class. Staff are absolutely amazing, all very nice, helpful, and want to make the experience as nice as possible. We went for a birthday and the restaurant brought us a small cake and candle when the desert was ready. The food was unreal, and the drink menu was extensive. Great atmosphere, and if you can get a view of the Castle, it's great. It's definitely worth a visit.

Attended Chaophraya for a wedding reception dinner and several of us went for the 'Wang' set menu at £55/person. The three course meal was full of exceptional food and the wait staff were incredibly attentive, helpful, and adding a very positive atmosphere to the night.

Lovely spot with great food, some of those chillies were hot! The cocktails hit the spot as well, a proper treat dinner.

Very overrated, inside decour and view I believe this is what your paying for, far from authentic pad Thai and very basic dishes with not much flavour, waitied 20 minutes before got served a drink and 40/50 waiting for food! Optional service charge was on the bill which I refused to pay and the staff dint seem happy about it which I thought was rude

Been many years since we visited, I have to say it's only improved - great service from Thomas, messed up on our order and the entire team fixed it in two minutes - quality of the food was excellent

Beautiful food, excellent service, staff went above and beyond, Cameron was very entertaining - a rare find anywhere in the world. We went with friends and had a great time and enjoyed a number of cocktails with our meals which were well balanced and all too easy to drink!

Cool vibes and the potential for great views if you can get a seat facing the castle. Had one of the best spicy cocktails ever (Thai Picante) - the bartender modified it to be slightly milder for me since I can't handle too much spice and it was perfect! Delicious food and great service. We have several dietary restrictions in our group and the servers were very helpful to accommodate.

Went for Friday family dinner. Pretty poor service! Took couple of friends who were also disappointed by their service! Had to ask for cutlery, napkins, drinks ! Food served without asking anyone needs any plates. Food was very average too for the price they are charging! Service was the big let down! Been there few times but no more! I will not recommend to go there, there are better options nearby !

Overall the place was okay! The sharing platter was tasty but nothing to write home. Partner had the sweet and sour with dragon fruit which she said was good. I had the duck from the grill section.!i get it was crispy duck. But damn was it dry! I've had really amazing crispy duck else where so I know it can be suculant. It was just all ok. The banana fritters with coconut ice-cream were a let down. Not sure where you get your ice-cream from. But its very cheap and bland. Spend a little extra for better end product. Chocolate bomb was decent. Service was good but almost very theatrical, however it was above par which is nice to see. The most shocking part was the service charge. At £150 for 2 people to then ask to put on £18 was almost a little greedy and cheeky. Would I go back? No unfortunately I didn't feel this place won me over. I kinda wish it hit all the right notes as it does have a lovely setting.

Great location, loved the ambiance, loved the selection of drinks at the bar. Food was not to our liking it was sweet and bland. Tomyum soup had to sent back twice. Service was friendly and courteous.

I cant give this place 5 stars only because of the food. Our side of rice was crispy, hard, and stale. The chicken stir fry dish wasn't bad, but not amazing. The chicken pad thai was delicious.

Fantastic Thai food, served by friendly staff and many tables have a stunning view of the city. Our food arrived before the drinks and the lighting in the area we sat in was so dim that we struggled to read the menu. Fortunately the food was good enough to overlook these annoyances.

Amazing share plates - small dishes packed with a tonne of flavour. Cocktails were gorgeous and palate-pleasing ... Super nuanced tasting notes. Also can't beat the view 😍.

we loved our Friday night dinner at this restaurant! from the friendly greeting to the OTH drink to celebrate our anniversary all the way to the great food and service. on the high end of prices but worth it. we had the dumplings and the tacos for first and the pad gro and sweet and sour stir fri for main. that last one wasn’t amazing but it bad. chocolate bombe for dessert-to die for!

Extremely friendly waiter and you have a great view ( you can even see the sea), alongside delicious food It is pricey but completely worth it 😍

It's a fantastic restaurant. The views were spectacular, and the food was phenomenal, a great night out for our 25th wedding anniversary and my 59th Birthday. We even got a complimentary proseco drink and birthday cake.

We had breakfast and it was delicious, we normally go for lunch /dinner but they have started breakfast so gave it a try which we would highly recommend.

Our requests We ordered Tom Yum soup with Seafood and they brought it with chicken. It was not good 5/10 and a discount was made on the bill after explaining to them that the order was wrong.. Ghastly. We decided to try based on the reviews. I was really looking forward to fresh, vibrant, authentic Thai food. Disappointingly, the food was nothing like any Thai food we've eaten before. We ordered a variety of dishes which looked, and tasted, like a Chinese takeaway. The rice was a congealed clump. The various meat dishes were dried and chewy. The chicken with cashews was more edible. We didn't finish any of the courses and just chalked it up to a bad experience. The service was good. There are much better, less hyped, Thai restaurants in Edinburgh. Next time, we'll go back to Dusit on Thistle Street.

We both loved our meal here. We went for the set menu which is fantastic value. Great as you can swap meat and items too. The views are lovely. The waiter was perfect, attentive but not too invasive. Offered to take a picture and gave local recommendations etc . Highly recommend.

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. We had dumplings, spring rolls and prawn crackers to start and then we all went for the pad Thai for mains. Two with prawns and one with chicken. So good. We left full and happy.

Came on a slower Monday afternoon. It was not busy at all. It did take over 30 minutes for me to get my food from ordering, and while they brought me a free snack and apologized, I did notice a couple other tables waited quite a long time too. Just odd for how few tables were occupied. Maybe 20% capacity. I got the pork belly, that was delicious. My drink was great. The pork ribs were over cooked and dry. Service was great. I don’t like an optional service charge that I have to ask to be taken odd but I also can’t just change. That felt odd. Like everything else in the area I do think it’s overpriced but it’s good food. Just not great. And it’s really slow so have a lot of time.

We stumbled upon this place when visiting Edinburgh and we're so glad we did. It was the best Thai food we've ever had. The view is sensational to top it off. Highly recommend the Ping Set Menu, amazing.

The view from there is amazing, breakfast was affordable and delicious. The drinks we had were fresh. We were served by Apinya and she was very helpful and friendly.

Only a few tables have a view of the castle. The food is average.

This is not the place for authentic Thai food. Food took a long time before getting served so when they arrived it was just warm and meats were all dried up (and hard to chew). Definitely recommend AGAINST anyone who is planning to visit this restaurant.
