Great place to eat with stunning views. A bit expensive for what you get, but good food. Two menus for 4 and some small snacks are enough. Thanks for the good service Elmo!

Attended Chaophraya for a wedding reception dinner and several of us went for the 'Wang' set menu at £55/person. The three course meal was full of exceptional food and the wait staff were incredibly attentive, helpful, and adding a very positive atmosphere to the night.

Lovely spot with great food, some of those chillies were hot! The cocktails hit the spot as well, a proper treat dinner.

Very overrated, inside decour and view I believe this is what your paying for, far from authentic pad Thai and very basic dishes with not much flavour, waitied 20 minutes before got served a drink and 40/50 waiting for food! Optional service charge was on the bill which I refused to pay and the staff dint seem happy about it which I thought was rude

Been many years since we visited, I have to say it's only improved - great service from Thomas, messed up on our order and the entire team fixed it in two minutes - quality of the food was excellent

Beautiful food, excellent service, staff went above and beyond, Cameron was very entertaining - a rare find anywhere in the world. We went with friends and had a great time and enjoyed a number of cocktails with our meals which were well balanced and all too easy to drink!

Cool vibes and the potential for great views if you can get a seat facing the castle. Had one of the best spicy cocktails ever (Thai Picante) - the bartender modified it to be slightly milder for me since I can't handle too much spice and it was perfect! Delicious food and great service. We have several dietary restrictions in our group and the servers were very helpful to accommodate.

Went for Friday family dinner. Pretty poor service! Took couple of friends who were also disappointed by their service! Had to ask for cutlery, napkins, drinks ! Food served without asking anyone needs any plates. Food was very average too for the price they are charging! Service was the big let down! Been there few times but no more! I will not recommend to go there, there are better options nearby !

Overall the place was okay! The sharing platter was tasty but nothing to write home. Partner had the sweet and sour with dragon fruit which she said was good. I had the duck from the grill section.!i get it was crispy duck. But damn was it dry! I've had really amazing crispy duck else where so I know it can be suculant. It was just all ok. The banana fritters with coconut ice-cream were a let down. Not sure where you get your ice-cream from. But its very cheap and bland. Spend a little extra for better end product. Chocolate bomb was decent. Service was good but almost very theatrical, however it was above par which is nice to see. The most shocking part was the service charge. At £150 for 2 people to then ask to put on £18 was almost a little greedy and cheeky. Would I go back? No unfortunately I didn't feel this place won me over. I kinda wish it hit all the right notes as it does have a lovely setting.

Great location, loved the ambiance, loved the selection of drinks at the bar. Food was not to our liking it was sweet and bland. Tomyum soup had to sent back twice. Service was friendly and courteous.

I have tried to unsubscribe for the last 6 x months with no luck- do not make the same mistake I did and sign up to receive a deal / discount.

I cant give this place 5 stars only because of the food. Our side of rice was crispy, hard, and stale. The chicken stir fry dish wasn't bad, but not amazing. The chicken pad thai was delicious.

Fantastic Thai food, served by friendly staff and many tables have a stunning view of the city. Our food arrived before the drinks and the lighting in the area we sat in was so dim that we struggled to read the menu. Fortunately the food was good enough to overlook these annoyances.

Loved this place. The food was great but the staff was even greater, my friend ordered the wrong drink by mistake and the girl at the bar was lovely about it and went out her way to help get my friend the right one! Was really appreciated! Definitely recommend coming here! A little pricy but worth it!

Amazing share plates - small dishes packed with a tonne of flavour. Cocktails were gorgeous and palate-pleasing ... Super nuanced tasting notes. Also can't beat the view 😍.

we loved our Friday night dinner at this restaurant! from the friendly greeting to the OTH drink to celebrate our anniversary all the way to the great food and service. on the high end of prices but worth it. we had the dumplings and the tacos for first and the pad gro and sweet and sour stir fri for main. that last one wasn’t amazing but it bad. chocolate bombe for dessert-to die for!

Extremely friendly waiter and you have a great view ( you can even see the sea), alongside delicious food It is pricey but completely worth it 😍

It's a fantastic restaurant. The views were spectacular, and the food was phenomenal, a great night out for our 25th wedding anniversary and my 59th Birthday. We even got a complimentary proseco drink and birthday cake.

You are paying for the view as well as the atmosphere is great. The food is very good but is definitely overpriced. The flavours were great. Service was good but a little pushy.

We had breakfast and it was delicious, we normally go for lunch /dinner but they have started breakfast so gave it a try which we would highly recommend.

A wonderful restaurant for lovers of Asian food. The restaurant seating is wonderful. The service is excellent. The prices are high. Our requests We ordered Tom Yum soup with Seafood and they brought it with chicken. It was not good 5/10 and a discount was made on the bill after explaining to them that the order was wrong.. Ghastly. We decided to try based on the reviews. I was really looking forward to fresh, vibrant, authentic Thai food. Disappointingly, the food was nothing like any Thai food we've eaten before. We ordered a variety of dishes which looked, and tasted, like a Chinese takeaway. The rice was a congealed clump. The various meat dishes were dried and chewy. The chicken with cashews was more edible. We didn't finish any of the courses and just chalked it up to a bad experience. The service was good. There are much better, less hyped, Thai restaurants in Edinburgh. Next time, we'll go back to Dusit on Thistle Street.

We both loved our meal here. We went for the set menu which is fantastic value. Great as you can swap meat and items too. The views are lovely. The waiter was perfect, attentive but not too invasive. Offered to take a picture and gave local recommendations etc . Highly recommend.

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. We had dumplings, spring rolls and prawn crackers to start and then we all went for the pad Thai for mains. Two with prawns and one with chicken. So good. We left full and happy.

Came on a slower Monday afternoon. It was not busy at all. It did take over 30 minutes for me to get my food from ordering, and while they brought me a free snack and apologized, I did notice a couple other tables waited quite a long time too. Just odd for how few tables were occupied. Maybe 20% capacity. I got the pork belly, that was delicious. My drink was great. The pork ribs were over cooked and dry. Service was great. I don’t like an optional service charge that I have to ask to be taken odd but I also can’t just change. That felt odd. Like everything else in the area I do think it’s overpriced but it’s good food. Just not great. And it’s really slow so have a lot of time.

We stumbled upon this place when visiting Edinburgh and we're so glad we did. It was the best Thai food we've ever had. The view is sensational to top it off. Highly recommend the Ping Set Menu, amazing.

The view from there is amazing, breakfast was affordable and delicious. The drinks we had were fresh. We were served by Apinya and she was very helpful and friendly.

Only a few tables have a view of the castle. The food is average.

This is not the place for authentic Thai food. Food took a long time before getting served so when they arrived it was just warm and meats were all dried up (and hard to chew). Definitely recommend AGAINST anyone who is planning to visit this restaurant.

This is a fantastic restaurant. The service and curiosity from the staff was second to none. The food was great and the decor was lovely.

Food was meh, and I love Thai food. Disappointing. Staff was nice and friendly but not attentive, at least to us. We didn’t get our appetizers for an hour. No one asked to replenish our drinks or bothered to check on us. Our food came 2 hours after we arrived. It was busy for a Monday, but it seemed as if retime was getting there food but us! We had a 8:15 reservation and when we arrived they made us want while they scrambled to get us a table.

Restaurant is well presented however I feel it was very overpriced. I had chicken skewers which were mediocre in flavour and a bit over cooked with a side of jasmine rice which again was over cooked. Service was great and servers were lovely but I don't think I'll be back definitely much better food for a fraction of the price elsewhere in Edinburgh.

Visited with our best friends as part of our wedding week celebrations and was lucky enough to be seated in the glass conservatory area with stunning views over to the castle . The food was so fresh and delicious could not fault a single thing , the staff were all very friendly and very attentive overall and amazing dining experience.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this wonderful rooftop restaurant! The food was so delicious, the staff was extremely friendly, and the views were amazing! This was our favorite meal that we had during our ten days in Edinburgh! I highly recommend it!

Amazing Thai food with a superb view of Edinburgh Castle. We rate this as some of the best Thai food we have tasted. Staff friendly and welcoming too, made it a wonderful experience. Highly recommend this place!

Thai spicy on the Khua Kling was as spicy as a jalapeno, they automatically added a 12.5% "service fee".

Had a delicious breakfast here today. Food amazing, staff lovely and attentive and amazing views of Edinburgh. Highly recommend the tropical pancakes. They were amazing!

Rather disappointed by the food. Curries were watery and tasteless . Fried rice was dry. The mango and sticky rice was atrocious. Only worthwhile items on the menu were the appetizers. We had heard so much about this restaurant.. very disappointing to note just the opposite .

We had the sharing platter and it was delicious. Our one included the chicken fried rice with Thai basil, Panang beef curry, salt and pepper king prawns and sweet and sour crispy chicken. The restaurant is beautiful and depending on where you are seated you can have views of Edinburgh castle. Delicious, authentic Thai food, lovely surroundings. Very busy restaurant with a good atmosphere. Very clean as well. I’ve been before and had the masaman curry and the crispy chicken with cashew nut which was equally delicious.

The food was amazing. The prawn pineapple fried rice is a must try. The mango sticky rice for dessert was perfect. Ask for luke to be your server.

Absolutely amazing place! Visited for lunch, was sat on the terraced part with incredible views over to Edinburgh castle. The food was absolutely amazing, beautifully presented, tasted phenomenal with amazing flavours, and service was both quick and super friendly. Definitely would come back here in a heartbeat and can’t wait for my next opportunity to, the starter with the coconut milk wrapped in grape leaves was to die for ❤️

Visited with a friend. Was seated with a view of Edinburgh Castle which was nice. Ordered a sharing starter that had chicken spring rolls, chicken skewars, some prawns and duck salad. It was all very good and tasted amazing. For mains i had the chicken khua kling i had asked to make it not too hot together with some egg fried rice. It was very nice but a little spicy bit good. We had some alcohol free mango mocktails again which were good. Chicken and Duck are Halal on the Edinburgh menu. I would definitely try again.

The restaurant is lovely, good service and the terrace is so nice, great views. We went for one of the set menus between two people. The sharing starter was good but some elements, were just OK. Mains were very average, a bit bland but good portions. It wasn't a bad experience per se I just wouldnt rush back.

The steak was delicious and the staff were great. Will certainly return.

This is really an insider tip. You would always walk past the restaurant. Completely inconspicuous. On the top floor there is a winter garden, small but nice above the city with fantastic food. I think it was very romantic. I had a recommendation from a travel guide and am glad I tried it.

Food was great but our waiter Angus was the star. Definitely what we needed after travelling so far with my Thai family. The Green curry is also unironically better than most places in Thailand.

A modern Thai restaurant that exceeded any expectations. The food was amazing and our waitress Anna was so attentive and friendly to talk to along with all staff.

4 and a half out of 5 stars. You can't give half stars so I have rounded down. This place would be 5 out of 5, if it weren't for the (very) few staff members who seem to absolutely hate their job and anything to do with smiling. That said at least you know where stand! The ocassional sour face aside, this place has very good food and excellent views, particularly in the 'conservatory' area. Service is fast and attentitive. Food is very tastey and authentic. Views are some of the best in Edinburgh.

The site is great in all aspects. The place is very modern and with a very careful aesthetic. The waiters are extremely polite and helpful. The pad thai is simply amazing. 100% recommendable!

Felt like eating Thai food and after many tries and near miss with other Thai restaurants, we found this place via Google search. Very happy tp have found this. Beautiful place, excellent service and best of all the best Thai food in Edinburgh. Totally worth the trip. We turned up without reservations just last minute on Saturday last weekend, but, we were still given a table albeit indoors. Beautiful ambience and excellent and friendly service. Food was tasty and serving size was perfect. Their Southern chicken is a must try and so is sticky rice with mango. Tried thier Mai Tai - was good but not the best I have had. Next will try something different. I loved their papaya salad too! Going back there soon.

The wait for a dinner on the panoramic terrace was very high and the fog prevented us from enjoying the view as much as possible but on the other hand the food was really excellent, both the PAD Thai with prawns and the fried rice again with prawns, they helped us brought back a bit to Thailand. It's a shame about the drinks which, given the prices, were really poor, my advice is to avoid them and just take water or beer.

Had starters and main courses. Vegetarian mixed starter was really nice but the mains - sirloin steak (signature dish) and halibut were really below average, bland and not really worth their price. Service was exceptional.

We visited on 25th April in the evening on the recommendation of the friends we were visiting. It came up to all expectations - a lovely venue, with stunning views, lovely food and great service, thank you Alejandro! Will definitely return the next time we visit Edinburgh.

The service was good and food tasted good however the portion was really small. When we asked if it was enough for the table to share, they said it would be - but realistically it’s only enough for one person per plate and per bowl of rice. Would not share the plate, just get your own.

Food was good but not great, seemed overpriced. I guess you’re paying for the rooftop but we were sat by the kitchen soooooo yeah.

Why does a Thai restaurant have a DJ playing a form of 'Club' music. Atmosphere ruined as more like a Bar. Eaten here many times and taken friends and overseas visitors but now atmosphere ruined.

Enjoyed another very tasty dinner with friends. Our server, Anna, made the evening - funny, friendly, knowledgeable, full of recommendations and just the right amount of attention. Vegan diners, coeliac diners, vegetarian diners .. all catered for with ease, and with plenty choices 😃 Ladies bathrooms are in sore need of decorating tho!

I went for dinner here on the 14th of December 2023. The restaurant is very nice inside and the views of the surrounding areas and the castle are fantastic. I had visited here before, so I had recommended Chaophraya to friends who were vsisiting, and we all met for dinner. The food was fantastic, The only disappointment of the evening was we waited over 1 hour from our starters and main meal. One of us had to go to the waiting area to ask when our mains were going to arrive. The staff apologised and told us they had a large party in, and it had slowed up the kitchen. They then arrived at the table with 4 complimentary proseccos. 2 of us weren't drinking, and im personally not a fan of prosecco. It did ruin our experience because the food itself was so good. I will return in the future in the hope the service has improved.

Had a wonderful experience at Chaophraya yesterday, we told them it was our year anniversary and they gave us each a glass of prosecco which was such a lovely thought, the service was very fast and friendly and they made sure we had everything we needed. we chose one of the set menus which was the ‘yom’ option, all the food especially the lamb curry was amazing, we felt like we had a comfortable amount of time inbetween courses. The Spice island ice tea cocktail is also to die for 🥰

Food was nice...atmosphere is very nice...only thing was bothered me is 12.50% optional service charge which seems too much and also they didn't ask if I want to pay that or not...they just charged me anyways...and its cost me £9 for no reason...
