Never had a bad meal here and all the staff are very knowledgeable and can help you pick the right meal. Large selection of drinks including my favourite cobra on draft.

Bombay Lounge in Dalkeith is quite honestly back to its best. Multi-award winning and rightly so! From the popadoms with lime pickle, spiced onions and yoghurt sauce entrée to the vegetable pakora and minced lamb samosa starters that leave your taste buds dancing! And then comes the main event?! The sizzling chicken tikka main with extra bowl of karahi sauce and chicken jalfrezi unlike any I’ve ever tasted before! Nom nom! The service and the ambiance are also top class! Unfortunately for my waistline, as Armie says, I’ll be back?!

Overall, a decent Indian restaurant in Dalkeith.

3 HOURS FOR DELIVERY Placed an order for delivery (£130) was warned that delivery may take up to an hour and a half. 2 hours went past I phoned the restaurant to get an update on my order. I was told it would be with me in the next 15 to 20 minutes a further half an hour past phone the restaurant again I was told I would be contacted within five minutes. 15 to 20 minutes later, I phoned again to complain as no one had contacted me and now we had reached the three hour mark. The family member I had round had to take there dinner home as they had a taxi booked Extremely disappointed especially when the order was £130 Overall very poor service and would not recommend to anyone

Delicious food, lovely staff and overall fantastic experience. We placed quite a big order on a Saturday evening and everything was still ready ahead of time. Will be ordering again.

Tried to get a delivery almost 2 hours late ordered at 3.30 for 6.30 it’s now 8.15 still no sign of it good food but please sort your deliveries out now 8.45 still not got it

The cheese nan had no cheese, the prawn dish expected more looked like a normal dish nothing exeptional, creamy mushroom was watery and no Higgis in potatoe dish really disappointed

Notifications from Just Eat don’t tie in with the actual readiness of the meal. Nice curry tho

Booked for Christmas day. ... restaurant was packed with several very large bookings when we arrived at 4pm. Tried to ask waiter where kids meal was but couldn't hear him over the "live entertainment", to be honest, been in nightclubs with quieter music definitely not the level you want to be subjected to while trying to have conversations on Christmas day! Wasn't even advised there would be a live act when booking otherwise we wouldn't have bothered! Sat down at 4pm given poppadoms and had to chase the waiting staff numerous times to order as priority was given to the bigger tables the whole time! Still waiting for food at 5:20pm.... with a 6 year old who was already struggling with the volume from the "impersonator" and now starving as he hadn't eaten since lunchtime. Partner complained to manager and suddenly food arrived at the table like magic..... when paying all the arrogant man behind the bar growled "how was food?" When I replied "ok but your service was shocking and grossly understaffed" the only reply I got was the total of the bill and a dirty look! We were weekly customers here for take aways but will definitely never be back. Doesn't take much to admit that you're understaffed and left a 6 year old child hungry for an hour and a half. Even an acknowledgement would have helped some what but clearly all they cared about was tables giving them more money. Save your hard earned cash and go else where.

Had family up from Essex and daid it was the best Indian food they had over tasted . Everything was fresh and tasty

2 curry’s and rice hot and good! 2 pakora starters were both cold! Was a very busy night for collections. Usually no issues but starters unimpressed me tonight.

Delivery arrived cold, nan bread was soggy. Disappointed for first time ordering from this restraunt.

Was late but we didnt mind as it was new years eve. Food was lovely.

Order was left unattended on reception desk. When a member of staff found it they had to try and find who had ordered it as no name was left on the delivery. The Naan was overcooked and the food was mildly warm. sadly disappointed.

Nearly 3 hours for delivery when originally told 60-75 mins. Phoned the restaurant after 2 hours and they told me they were very busy and hung up on me!

Our order was so late that we had to go and collect it, despite calling the restaurant multiple times, whereupon they told us that the delivery was on its way. At the fifth phonecall, we asked to collect, which they said it was ready for. Burnt bread

Amazing food as always however the takeaway service waiting time is a joke. Collecting an order in the past has been over an hour late, deliveries the same. And when I've mentioned how long I've been waiting for my meal I've received quite rude responses from 2 members of staff about being short staffed. This is fair enough however there is no need to be rude and it happens so frequently with our orders I'm unsure they really have the capacity to deal with their customers or enough interest in customer care.

I ordered the meal just before 5.30pm, it was finally delivered 7.43pm. food was lukewarm! had to reheat it in the microwave. not great Bombay Lounge!

Very good food but overpriced and the online menu prices have been increased by 50% for example pilau rice now £6 but £4 in the online menu. The owner is over friendly and his style may not go down well with everyone. The staff are friendly and efficient. We ate midweek evening and it was very quiet.

Lovely food but not very hot when it arrived and it’s not that far away.

Very sad to say this as I’ve been going for years, without Mikey there the food and service has went totally downhill, 8 of us last night have been going for a while and all agreed that the food and service was not a patch on what it was before, and I’ve noticed this going on 3 occasions in the last few months, so was not just last night. Bombay green curry was like the salt tub had been spilt into it, the wrong side dishes came and plates where being taken from the table before people had finished eating. Will I go back? Aye if the boss is back overseeing the service and food

An unethical business.Ordered food and waited almost 2 hours only to discover that they weren't going to deliver it!!Called up to 8 times only for it to be redirected to the answering machine!!Shame on you.If you can't deliver the food ,don't take orders.What a disgrace.

Food was expected to arrive between 8:30 -8:50 but didn’t arrive until 9:20. The delivery app had said it was delivered well before. The food was stone cold and everything had to be reheated. The order came with a bottle of wine to drown our sorrows?

By far the best Indian restaurant around food and drinks are amazing and the staff are so friendly. Even if you haven’t booked they always make sure you get a table

Food was ok though not very hot We waited absolutely ages for it to arrive, 2 and a half hours. The wrong delivery was then given to us but thankfully the driver was still there and able to fix this or the meal would have been later still! Not idea

Ordered chicken tikka Dopiaza and was given a plain chicken Dopiaza. No can of free Coke Zero in the bag either. Apart from that a tasty curry

Not a good Monday at the Bombay Lounge. You might have won awards in the past. You didn't win any with me. When you order food you expect good tasting. Not to be bland. Why do you severe slices of chicken not pieces in the meal ordered? Not advertised on the menu. Never in my meals at Indian restaurants have I been served slices of cheaper chicken. Very underrated sauce very bland. Ordered a garlic naan 😭 nope a burnt plain nan. My starter came straight out of the microwave. The heat from starter was still radiating. Finally the coffee was that strong you would have got a big kick. The reason we require coffee. This was because the welcome heating was just cold ❄️air. BEWARE CHRISTMAS REVELERS.

No point in serving great food if it doesn’t arrive. After a wait of 2 hours 15 minutes I had to go and collect it myself. Will never order a delivery again from here.

What has happened to Bombay Lounge? We used to go regular and have met up with friends there over the years. Always good service. Always good value for money. Very disappointed with our last visit. Kept waiting for our mains. The food was very average and not as good as it once was. Then we were hit with a bill of £64! That was 2 curries, shared naan, shared rice, shared chips and no alcohol. We appreciate they need to make money, but they are massively over priced compared to other places. If it was good food and worth it, we wouldn't have minded the price so much. Not the waiters fault, he was lovely. We won't be back unfortunately.

Fabulous food, staff are always friendly and helpful. Great menu, generous portion sizes, it is pricey but I think worth it.

Whilst the curries tasted nice, they were extremely cold and chips were inedible.

Food was fantastic, korma was a little on the runny side. Would highly recommended and we will definitely order again.

The meal was fine No complaints there but wasn't impressed with the service. First time here No one asked how our meal was or asked uf we needed another drink My husband had to call a member of staff over to order our drinks. Also we had to call again for dessert and coffee as no one came near us. Won't be hurrying back.

I've had better elsewhere. £14.95 for a main ( chicken in a curry sauce ) is overpriced in my opinion. Cutlery on the table in a container gives off a wetherspoons vibe which is fine but not if you're spending £100 for 2 people

Always great food and service, highly recommend.

Original order delivered on time, but it was missing items. Phoned up to inform them of this, they arranged to send the missing items - this then took 40mins to come. There were only 7 items total originally and they had 2 hours to make it, I don’t know how it can go so wrong. Although we got to eat eventually, we felt the delays and issues spoilt our dinner and evening.

The lamb bhuna was so salty I thought my head was going to implode.The tarka daal had the colour and consistency of baby poop.Fortuneately it did not taste like that.But that was only because it tasted of absolutely nothing at all.The chicken tikka sauce appeared to have been made with budget brand tomatoe soup and marmalade.Food gave us horrendous indigestion-and to top it all off we both had the scoots the next day.

Collection was easy and staff were lovely. Food was very tasty and well made, sadly it was quite cold and we had to reheat it. Will order again, please make sure food is heated?

Only issue was that the food arrived cold, other than that great service & arrived quickly

Ordered just before 6pm for 8pm. Sent message for update at 8.30pm. Was advised delivery now exoected 9.05pm. No sign called restaurant at 9.30pm, told 10mins arrived at 9.55pm. Delivery driver advised only one driver on that night too busy for one!

Pains me to write this about an indian ive always loved, but delivery at 5:45, the 6:30, then eventually delivered at 7 is out of line. The food tasted a.azing as always but needed to be heated up.

We were disappointed with the 2 meals the had very little taste and the chicken was a bit overcooked and we will not order from them again as it we were that disappointed with the meals.

2 hours delivery time, but I can forgive as it said that in the estimated time, however when it did arrive it was cold and missing a dish. Last time we ordered wasn't great either. I won't be giving them a third chance. Such a shame as this was our go to place for a curry.

Sunday night Ordered a take away and told 1 hour 40 max for delivery! Phoned to query delivery and told it’s just left! 2 hours 45 later it arrives! Food was cold and TBH very overpriced

Awful. Food arrived so cold. We waited so long then pretty much had to prepare the food ourselves. Restaurant could not care less and blamed it on Justeat asking them to contact Justeat with any issues as it was nit their problem.

Took over 2 hours for our order and the time just kept getting pushed back. Called the restaurant and they weren’t very helpful.

Ordered at 6:33pm. 21:14pm and food still hasn’t arrived.

collection stated 45 minutes so I went to collect after 45 minutes and then had to wait an extra 45 minutes at the restaurant before my food was ready. They didn't even start cooking my food until 1 hour after order was placed

Ordered at 1721 arrived at 2045! Absolutely shocking service! The staff couldn’t have been more unhelpful when I called 4 times to ask where it was!

We used to order our takeaways from here regularly however the past 6 months every order has been a disappointment. The last two orders have been missing items and food has been cold. Unfortunately it has put us off ordering from here again.

Took nearly 3 hours for delivery. Even on a Saturday early eve that’s very long. Driver looked very rushed when it did turn up. Not really sustainable to have a service which takes so long. That said, the food quality was good (I had to reheat a bit). It’s a great local eatery but it must sort the takeaway delivery side out - I’m unlikely to use again.

I order from Bombay lounge regularly and the food is normally amazing , but on this occasion the chicken in my dish was very hard and chewy which made it inedible.

Totally unprofessional service, called 3 hours ago and was told 2 hrs for delivery ,called back after 2hrs 30 mins and was told he was going to call the driver and he would call me back, guess what still waiting, now when you call the shop it goes straight to voicemail, totally shocking service, avoid at all costs
