I’m getting more and more into Thai/ Malaysian/ Asian food – especially a good noodle dish with some fried chicken, a bit of spice and I especially like it when a dish topped with a fried egg. Or a decent Thai curry / a laksa with a good kick of spice goes down well too. So when we visited Syiok-Lah, they provided two of my ultimate plates of heaven; Maggie Goreng – Fried Chicken (£13.95): Stir-fried Malaysian noodles with mixed veg, egg, topped with spring onion, crispy shallots, fresh chillies, and lime to finish. Rice Dish – Beef Rendang (12.95): 6 hours slow-cooked beef in 10 combinations of herbs, spices, coconut milk and toasted coconut. Served with coconut rice and cucumbers. Garnish with coriander and fresh chillies We also shared a Chicken Satay Bao Bun (£7.50) Everything was exceptionally delicious and we cleared the plates (as you can see). The service was swift and staff really helpful and friendly. Other dishes on their menu include Roti Canai (two pieces of flaky roti bread served with a choice of Beef Rendang or Chicken Curry), Laksa, Loaded Fries, Chicken Drumsticks and more. There is only one Vegan option currently but this may change as they grow?!

So very sad to see that Raies has closed after so many years. Thank you Max and all that's worked with him over the 40 years of business. I have lots of great memories over the years. I 1st started going in 1983 and will miss you now you have closed. I have one 'Max's favourite' left in the freezer that I will enjoy. Including having to call in on a Monday to apologies after falling out over delivery times on Saturday nights. The curries you have served have always been so enjoyable. Best wishes in you're retirement Max.

superb flavours, just great quality

Just this minute been to pick up my order highly dissappointed noodles have no flavour the bbq ribs are fatty and needed to go back in oven. Over priced for quality of food. My regular chinese was shut. And i get more food and flavour for less money with my regular chinese.Will not order here again it really has gone down hill since the last time i ordered . Lady in the shop was lovely which is probably the only positive i could say on this review. I would rather go without now than be dissapointed nothing worse than paying and looking forward to some food and it being a total let down.

I didn't receive the salad or sauce I ordered. It has always been perfect from kabish when I've ordered previously but tonight it was not.

The worst curry I’ve ever eaten, so tasteless even the rice was bland. Think the only thing I could taste was ghee! Ordered 2 different mains and both as bad as each other. The nann equally as poor.

The Keralan inspired food here is superb. We could have started at the top of the menu and worked our way through it. It's refreshingly different from other Indian style restaurants and this is what makes it special. It was full on a Monday night, that in itself speaks volumes. Backed by excellent service this restaurant fully deserves it's reputation. Marvellous!

from being notified the food was on it's way, it took 25 minutes to arrive. It was all cold and disgustingly greasy and the curry had been squashed in the bag and so leaked everywhere! As a regular customer this was extremely disappointing

ordered a flake and coockie dough milshake, got flake milkshake but no cookie dough milkshake just cookie dough, and wondering when the milkshake gunna turn up.

Ordered delivery from here as I have many times before, tried veg pathia rather than my usual achari or madras, it was the sweetest sickliest curry I’ve ever had, I clicked Asian style and dry but it was just carrots and potato like syrup/jam with pineapple in it! I think it was a pudding? I’ve had many veg pathia in bfd, but this was another level……..
