Taj in Sheffield

My husband and I had food poisoning from a veggie curry from here! If you fancy 14 hours of vomiting then this is for you!

Not ordered for a while had a really bad experience, food had no taste an was clock cold

Good food and good price. Lots of choice. This will be my go to Indian from now on.

Was going to order on line visited the shop numerous times, on line orders charge 50p service charge (what for) send £2.50 delivery no thanks my on line order was nearly £30 and you want to charge delivery and SERVICE charge sorry guys not for me.

We were so disappointed, For a start there was only 1 poppudom to share between two of us and no pickles at all. I had a chicken Zafrani balti, I don't like very spicy curries but this was so bland and totally la ked any depth of flavour. My husband had a lamb methi which was only slightly better. We were also surprised that his carton was only two thirds full whilst mine was completely full. Sorry Raj but we won't be returning

Ordered chicken karahi and when opened box I had to fish for the chicken in the big square onions...hardly any chicken and filled with onions. The taste was just bland.. no flavour whatsoever. Was new to area and only went because of 4.5 rating, I don't know how it's rated so high

Thank you Taj, you are my everything. Taj is the best Indian ever. If I could order every day then I would. The chicken is very soft and falls apart, the naan is always soft and yummy. The curry is just so amazingly tasty. I wouldn’t order from anywhere else. No Indian take away is quite the same as Taj. My only complaint: they’re not open 24/7… BOOOO!

if could rate 0 stars that’s what it would get food was ordered at 7 and said it was due at 9 and arrived an hour late. it was luke warm. ordered 2 chicken masala’s and it tasted like a korma (coconut) with a hint of tomato soup. no spice, very bland. if you like coconut order from here.

Waited over 2 hours for food which they got wrong a awful response ringing back asking them why such a wait excuse was waiting for madras sauce said get a discount next time do not order they do not look after you as a loyal customer

Excellent food and service everytime

I would usually order from Spice Hut next door which is now closed. Delivery came right on time, the onion rice and raita was very nice thankyou. I was sad to see my butter chicken was like water and quite flavourless with 5 small pieces of chicken. As a chef signature dish, this let me down a bit. I probably won't order here again.

Lovely well-presented food, service and friendly atmosphere. The menu.is wide and varied. Not expensive for the quality. If you are waiting also, nice sofas and TV on too which is nice. Located next to Leppings Lane tram stop.

Food always excellent but service this evening has been appalling. Delivery was not complete, I called and was told that driver would come straight back out with remainder. I called again after waiting 35 minutes (we are only 5 mins drive away) to be given weak excuses. I stated that I no longer wanted either the missing or the food that we had, as this had gone cold, was inedible and filling the house with a smell of food that was no good. Was advised to give back food to driver when he arrived and refund would be given! No way, the food went in the bin, we've gone hungry and won"t be using Taj again. It"s a shame, food has always been good but they really need to work on customer care.

Have been using this take away for a while, food has always been good. Ordered online, delivery was at appointed time. After eating starter, realised that our rice was missing. Rang immediately and they said they would send it straight out. We live 5 minutes from restaurant. 30 minutes later it still wasn't with us. We rang again and were told that it was on route, they were short of drivers. We said we didn't want the rice now and requested a refund. Instead of offering some sort of partial refund/goodwill they requested we send the whole order back and hung up the phone???? What kind of customer service is that. The rice arrived 40 minutes later, we turned it away. Sadly that's it for us now with this take out. Can't understand why establishments can't acknowledge a mistake and resolve without discussion and difficulty, basic customer service!

ordered Curry on Tuesday from chef special and the food was very hot and flavorful. The front staff was very helpful and the nans and kebab were good as well.

Amazing food, loved the complementary potatoe curry thing it was lovely will have that again and the cheesy nan was a big hit. Thank you so much.

Got dinner delivered from Taj this weekend, and it was honestly one of the best meals I've ever eaten. I genuinely couldn't get over it. Having the allergen information on Justeat was super helpful, and there was plenty of vegetarian/vegan options. Our order came in good time, the portions were great, the flavours were incredible, it was fresh and didn't feel heavy or greasy... we're definitely going to be regulars!

This place is excellent for food takeout and the Currys and nan are always hot and the biryani is incredibly delicious.

Always a good curry from here. The Madras is nice and spicy. Very reasonable prices. Also very clear from the menu what is gluten free.

I love the Taj Indian Takeaway, it was very excellent and the service is very professional and up to high standards in terms of Indian restaurants. All the staff were friendly and greeted me with a smile and answered all my questions on which food to order and what's the best meal that restaurant has to offer. I highly recommend the restaurant for all people who are keen in trying out different types of Indian food and to expand the existing preference of Indian food.

Food was very bad. I ordered bhuna fish, they delivered rogan josh fish. Nothing was nice. Very salty poppadom. Onion bhaji too sweet, no spices. Raita was sweet. Salad was nothing but onions. Overall experience very bad. Had diarrhea after having it. Still having stomach upset. Wouldn't even give 1 star.

Submitted order and spent over £30 for hours in advance and received a text to say the order had been cancelled with no reason at all. Will take 3-5 days to get a refund. Not happy!!

I got the taj special murghi masala, and it was so tasty and delicious. the garlic naan is so soft and flavourful. would highly recommend!! the service was really good too.

8 pieces of tiny chicken for 6.50 is an absolute joke. Will not be ordering from here again.

The worst curry I’ve had in Sheffield… waited over 90 mins for delivery (2 mains & a starter so no big order). When it eventually arrived my tikka masala looked like tomato soup & was ridiculously spicy to the point I couldn’t eat it never mind enjoy it. Wouldn’t recommend, far better places for a curry in Sheffield.

Not impressed at all with this place curry's r very bland no spice to them at all and the onoin baja just not nice al all no spice to them very over done more like onoin bits chicken was not nice in the curry's more like frozen chicken thought it would have been fresh.

Onion bhaji was dry and bland, and the salad garnish was pitiful. Three different curries all tasted of the same base sauce, with only a hint of an ingredient to distinguish them. The lamb was either fat, or meat on the dry and tough side. The pilau rice was nicely cooked and aromatic; the naan was also good. We were treat to a free poppadom each, but they were underwhelmingly dry: not the slightly oily yet crisp, freshly fried variety.

I’ve been to this place quite a few times now and always found it to be very good food at a reasonable price. The service at the premises was very good and the guy at the counter was very polite and helpful.They do have a very great menu with lots of options. I can’t comment on the delivery service however as I have never used it hence the four stars. No complaints. Happy customer.

Ordered from here twice now. Excellent curry for the price. Would prefer home made chips to fries. I highly recommend Taj for your Indian take out.

We had our first takeaway from Taj on Friday & were very pleased. The food was was delicious, made with good quality ingredients & with some complimentary poppadums too. The staff were polite & friendly. We highly recommend Taj & will return.

Great food, recommended. Tried a few other similar places over the last few months, but kept on coming back to Taj. Tasty good quality food. In my opinion, the best (I know of) in Sheffield. Can sometimes take a while to deliver, but I assume that is because they are very busy as they are popular.

Once again sat night curry night I've had many of Currys but Taj as got to be 1 of the best food service good delivery always on time food hot tasty and fresh deffienly recemmended

4th time we have had food from here each time perfect currently the best Indian take away around S35 delivery price is a little pricy but the food makes up for that. If you haven't tried food from here give it a go you won't be disappointed.

This is the best Indian in Sheffield that we have found by far. We have tried manu and Taj are consistently delicious! I always collect and it's ready in 20 mins, great prices and menu. Generous sized portions. Usually get a few popadoms chucked in for free too! Can definitely recommend Chicken Tikka Zafrani Balti and Mushroom rice. Garlic Chapati's are also great as are the onion bhaji's ... I could go on!

Just Had A Take Away Delivered, Never Again! It's Been A Few Months Since Ordering With The Covid!! But Anyway We Thought After A Busy Week We Would "Treat" Ourselves! Burnt And Then Re-Formed Onion Bhaji! Tough Chicken In My Chicken Tikka..Only Reason I'm Giving Two Stars Is The Rice & Popadoms Were Eatable!! But That's Not Very Appetising So I Couldn't Eat Much Of That...So I'm Really Looking Forward To My Cheese On Toast!!

We don't have takeaways very often and I have to say, this was disappointing. We tried here due to next doors hygiene rating but will be taking my chances and going back there in future!Not awful, just very underwhelming. Over cooked spiced poppadom, no "extra" normal ones... just below par...
