First time here. What lovely staff and gorgeous food. My vegetarian Rogan was beautiful so tasty and fresh. We also had chicken balti which was lovely. And a bonus complimentary drink to top it off. Excellent

Visited with family including a baby and a 4 year old. Service was outstanding and couldn't have done more for us. Food was amazing quality. Have visited before and will certainly be visiting again soon. Thank you all very much.

We visited to celebrate a friends birthday. First of all the staff are wonderful - they looked after us very well and offered complimentary baileys and gave the birthday boy a little gift when we left. It’s a nice environment to eat in with authentic music in the background. The drinks were great & topped up as soon as we finished. One of the plates on the table was chipped but replaced immediately it was pointed out. The poppadoms were the nicest I’ve had but we didn’t enjoy the pickles very much but our friends loved them. I had tandoori chicken and got two big pieces which was too much for me - unfortunately the chicken was a bit tough and I ended up pulling it apart as I couldn’t get my knife through it. The prawn dish was lovely & our friends enjoyed their chicken in a coconut sauce which was way too sweet for me and too thin BUT our friends loved it. The rice was good & the nan breads were too. I had an ice cream which was lovely. So it’s a mixed review but we would go again and I would make a different choice of food. The main plus was definitely the staff and that counts for a lot when some of my choices weren’t the best.

My husband and I decided to order a takeaway and initially went to place the order online. I decided to call the restaurant directly to avoid the extra 50 pence charge that is placed at the end when paying. We collected our takeaway and left to only discover we had being overcharged by £8 compared to what we would have being charged if we'd ordered using the online service. Unfortunately this has now put us ordering from this restaurant again. Food is lovely but I don't like dishonesty.

We ordered this as a takeaway and it was probably the worst Indian we have ever had. The chicken was over cooked and dry and the sauce was like soup it was so runny. The dhansak was most definitely not a dhansak either.

Ordered take away. Delivery was estimated to be an hour, no worries. It arrived 4 hours later at 1am. No call, no answer, no excuse or apologies. No refund, had to charge back via the bank. Absolutely wild.

Poor service and rude waiter! I was also given ghee (butter) after repeatedly checking and explaining that I'm vegan. I initially asked what the vegan options were and was advised that I could have paneer. I explained that cheese was not vegan, and then discussed options that would be suitable. I was advised by a different member of the team who seemed to have better knowledge of which foods did not contain ghee. Upon receiving my meal and having a couple of mouthfuls I realised that it was swimming in ghee. The staff member i spoke to admitted it was ghee and basically told me it was a misunderstanding as I had just asked for "less oil", which was not true. I asked what they would do if someone had an allergy and I was told that there was no point in getting upset or angry about it. Terrible food and poor customer service. This restaurant advertises the fact that vegan options are available, please be cautious.

We have travelled extensively throughout the world. This is perhaps the worst Indian style food I have had. The butter chicken actually tasted of nothing and to boot had spoonfuls of sugar in it. Chicken Tikka.. I have never seen this bright red before.... There was a few good things poppadom and the after 8 mint

Food arrived 50 minutes late. Was Luke warm if that. Curry’s were the consistency of water and had no flavour at all. Definitely will not be returning.

Great food and great table service..THEN THE MOOD CHANGES FOR THE WORSE…the young waiter wanted cash payment not card…even suggested I go into town and get cash (I politely explained that was not going to happen) so they said card was ok providing I leave a big tip…in the end very reluctantly accepted card WITH NO TIP. Then as a final miserable gesture they regretted that the food we asked to be bagged had been thrown away. Sonali does not have a monopoly…there are other options available in Beverley…

When it first opened this was a lovely place for a meal. Attentive staff, great service and most importantly brilliant food. This has all gone out the window now. Slow and rude service, constantly having to chase for drink orders, ridiculously long wait on food and then when it finally comes just a bowl of soupy grease. Wont be back ever. Gutted.

I booked a table for 2 online on Saturday morning. A couple of hours later I received an email and text confirmation. On arrival at the restaurant the staff were not aware of my booking. I showed them my email confirmation, but they just kept looking up and down their reservations book in disbelief and asked me 3 times if I used a different name. The restaurant was very busy and it was getting embarrassing. I said we’d leave it when one of the staff muttered that he’d find a table. The table was not in a very good position (near the kitchen and door). I said that I prefer to sit on the edge and was told those tables were for people who had booked (I HAD booked!). So we said we’d leave it. There was absolutely no apology given to us from any of the staff. They acted like we were an inconvenience. We use this restaurant regularly and often go with friends too, but no more. It would have spoiled our evening completely, but luckily another restaurant fitted us in.

Food was lukewarm warm , pickle tray ,that cost £3 had 3 of the same dip and that was all. Samosa that cost £7 !!! Was so small a mouse would sink it in one. Chicken Pasanda £7.96 was just two chicken nuggets!! Over all experience with the food was just poor will not order again!!!

Ordered takeaway, first time using this restaurant. I ordered prawn korahi. Taste was good but the sauce was 50% oil. Rice was dry. Also large chunks of almost raw onion in the sauce. Won't be ordering from here again.

We happened across this restaurant a few years ago on recommendation from a friend, so far we have not had reason to complain or not be satisfied whatsoever, the food is excellent, the staff are friendly, courteous and actually remember and welcome you back when you return, generally we go on a Saturday and it's usually really busy, which is a good sign to me that if its that busy, its because it's good. The most recent visit, again it was really busy, but the food came out in good time and the gap between courses was just right to let the starter settle before the main course. A table near us were kicking off at the length of time waiting for food, but on a busy Saturday night what do you expect? I can whole heartedly recommend this restaurant and would rate it as the best in East Yorkshire.

Well what a great evening! The service was excellent. Had a good laugh with the lads! Go carefull on the vindaloo 🥵♨️. Was red hot but thats what we wanted! Full of flavour & the chicken was super tender! Will be back very soon! 10/10

This should be a great restaurant, which our friends recommended, so we ordered a takeaway delivery. You expect to wait for a reasonable time on a Saturday night. But is 2 hours acceptable? What was more frustrating is that when we called to check progress they said it would be a few minutes - still waited another hour. However good the food - its not worth a 2 hour wait.

The slowest takeaway delivery. Recommended by friends, so we thought we would order on a Saturday night. So, you expect service to be a bit slower on a Saturday - but over 2 hours from ordering? Is that really acceptable? Especially when we called for a delivery update after an hour and were told it would be soon on the way. So why lie to us? Do yourself a favour and give these guys a miss.

Waited just over 3hrs and called many times to be told sorry it’s on its way. Terrible service. Don’t order delivery at this place

Service was very very poor. Took over 20mins for staff to come and take our orders, hard to flag. A waiter had very bad attitude, he threw the cutlery, was very curt and impolite. No shortage of staff, just very poorly trained staff. Food was extremely slow. Expect a 20mins or longer waiter when you've finished your course. Food was mediocre in quality, portions small, very little meat/substance. Toilets male and female did not have toilet roll. Highly do not recommend. Will not be coming back.

Been going to this restaurant for around 4/5 years now. It’s our favourite Bangladeshi restaurant in Beverley to meet up with work colleagues. Clean & tidy place, staff are quick & efficient. Food is always good.

Solo, but treated like a star Food was really good, had a rogan Josh, naan and rice. Naan seemed a little dry, but soft. Rice was good, as was the curry

Be careful!! Went here on Saturday evening with two friends after a few beers around Beverley - it came highly recommended too. We left feeling disappointed and felt ripped off - would definitely not recommend!!! Having had the pickle tray and papadums between us, we orders a curry each and shared two rice, one chips and one nan bread. With a beer each, we were charged over £100!!! Check you bill as this was definitely wrong and we won't be going back! I don't like leaving bad reviews but I also don't like being ripped off. Such a shame as it is a nice setting...

First time ordering from this restaurant, an option listed through JustEat. Delivery was prompt, no complaint there. And price was reasonable/comparative to other similar restaurants. However, maybe my expectations need to be adjusted. I am from Glasgow, so my curry expectations are essentially the country benchmark. What I received this evening was far below that benchmark. I ordered fish pakora. I received some sort of breadcrumbed fish goujon. Whatever it was, was not pakora. And let's not discuss the accompanying sauce. I ordered tandoori grill - most of which was made up of some chicken thigh on the bone, rather than breast meat. Always find these a wee bit dodgy, as 90% of the time the meat is not properly cooked and I hate having to play with my food before eating it! Ordered a peshawari naan, that was described as filled with mixed fruit as it should be. What I got was half a naan filled with nowt but dessicated coconut. Not impressed. There is one thing not fulfilling my expectations as to what constitutes a proper curry, but to not deliver a product as advertised is unacceptable. Poor show.

Booked last minute for a Saturday night, glad we did soon filled up. Once we got the food we could understand why it was full. Amazing food, great range of dishes and drinks, absolutely outstanding! Will definitely return when next in the area!

Unfortunately the experience at Sonali Spice was disappointing. Although the restaurant wasn’t that busy we waited a long time for the food to arrive, and when it did the order was not correct and some items were missing and it took time to rectify this. The staff weren’t always that attentive. The food wasn’t bad, however the Korma was mostly sauce and had limited meat. The restaurant was clean and tidy but not in a hurry to return

The staff were friendly and the restaurant is nicely decorated. The food isn't good. We had Poppadoms and pickle trays to start. It had no taste. I had a chicken tikka bhuna, which was described as having a rich thick sauce. There was hardly any sauce, and it was drowning in oil. The only nice part of the meal was the garlic naan. Really disappointed.

Sonali take way. Well, in my experience a madras would be spicy and give a bit of a kick. Not the case but if you like four pieces of lamb in a bit of gravy you are laughing. If not well disappointment is it. Sonali spice is misleading as there was no spice. If i had of wanted four lamb chunks in gravy i wouldve gone elsehere in the hope of a lamb madras. The naan was good but the curry? Really really poor. If you want a curry go to McDonald’s as you stand a better chance than Sonali Spice. Dont get me started on the prawn masala. Over the phone they admit error yet nothing to provide a solution. Marks out of ten? Erm yeah.

Ordered a takeaway for 9 of us sat night. 75% of the meals where poor. 4 bits of chicken or lamb in a dish is way OFF the mark. The sauces mainly looked like red / yellow water. Absolutely poor food. Won't be returning. Akash is 10 x better.

Just ordered king prawn shashlik masala to be delivered. It was cold and had king prawns in shells which was not on the description. Due to the sauce I couldn’t see what bit was prawn or shell and ended up with prawn ‘legs’ all over the dish. Very expensive and very disappointing

Best I've had for some time and I grew up in Birmingham so I know about curry. Lovely waiters and very helpful. 10/10 guys 👍 Looking forward to being known as a regular customer.

We went for a curry after a few drinks on New Year's Eve. It was very busy for obvious reasons, but the staff, despite being under pressure, coped admirably with a great sense of humour and efficient service.

We booked for eighteen people on New Years Eve. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were efficient and interacted with guests with a good sense of humour. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. A good time was had by all and the food was exceptional.

It is with a heavy heart that we are having to leave this poor review. We have always been regular customers of Sonali Spice but over the course of this year we have seen the quality of service and food fall dramatically. We visited again yesterday evening and was truly shocked by the poor standard. The service is so slow and most of the staff seem totally disinterested in their customers experience. We both ordered different mixed starters and main meals, but the chicken was so salty it was barely edible. The portion sizes are now considerably smaller than previously, but are presented in a different way as if to decieve. I should have raised my complaints earlier but chose to do so when paying the bill. I just really hope they take this complaint seriously otherwise they will continue to lose even more customers.

Another great find in Beverley! This restaurant has been here for some time yet we have only just tried it , we're so glad we did. The staff are very engaging, incredibly friendly and attentive. The food is beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, the Onion Baji is a must! The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, very clean. Definitely one to try.

Could have been better. But Could have been a lot worse. Maybe I was just difficult to please that day. Think they tried to hard. Just wanted to enjoy a peaceful meal.

First time we have used these guys for a takeaway meal. We ordered one of the set meals for two, which was ready in 35 minutes.I can only say that the staff are very friendly and helpful making you feel very welcome at their establishment, the food was tasty and the portions generous. I'd be happy to use them again.

Absolutely awful Indian food. No spice and absolutely no flavour. Cheap, mushy chicken and under-cooked naan. The worst of a bad lot in Beverley. The best thing about it was that it arrived quickly.

Having tried this place 2 years ago and was disappointed thought I'd give it a 2nd chance. Big mistake although the meat is tender the flavour and taste of both dishes we ordered karahi and saag was non existent. No wonder the place was empty. Appalling

Four of us are just back home after having what we can only call a truly fantastic meal. The food was fresh, full of flavour and cooked exceptionally well, the service was excellent, very professional while being friendly and efficient. We had a fantastic night , can't wait to return 👍🏻

Went to Sonali for a birthday celebration although i rang and booked it seemed to take 3people to find my booking then when seated and studied menu and order taken not all dishes came out together eg only two out of four starters and had to ask for the rest same with rice on mains found portion sizes were not value for money although very tasty restaurant very busy and noisy and long wait for food also was unable to get a jug of water for the table
