Like a few people have said in their reviews we came here years ago but somehow it got forgotten about, then some friends said they had been and were impressed, so we went last night. The decour is modern and smart, the service was snappy and the food delicious, I had a mild dish and it was excellent, one thing to note that if you like things not too spicy then tell them, my wife’s was excellent but their medium is everyone else’s blow you head off! Would highly recommend a visit.

Ordered in advance and it came Stone cold, missing items and the chips couldn’t even be described as chips, triple fried with no content. Onion bhajis were cremated and naan breads were stone cold. Very disappointed for a takeaway ordered in good time and not at a very busy period of the night on a Saturday.

We live locally and saw they had redecorated, looks much better now. So we tried dinner, very good service, food tasty, we had a madras and a vindaloo, sure we’ll be back.

Went with family and had a lovely starter and main -the place was very clean and inviting - the staff were friendly and helpful - the quality of food was very high served to a high standard too. Price not bad - so highly recommended.

Our favourite restaurant, every single time the service and food are amazing! We always feel so well looked after and welcomed by the team. Our children want to move in and always have a great laugh. The food is so delicious, although we can never finish the huge portions, but then we always have leftovers for tasty lunch the next day. Highly recommend Bindiya Chicken. Thank you so much for yet another lovely evening, see you again soon!

Think they were having a joke...... was hotter than the sun inedible... I had 4 others try it and ended badly ... amazing flavour but don't need to mess with people's hard earned money ... it was beyond hot! Chicken dansak should never burn the skin off your lips I'll happily ask you to try it??

Super food with a great veggie choice. We were visiting the area (staying in Allerthorpe) and noticed a few dishes we don't see in restaurants of this type in South Wales. Most definitely recommended.

Even since I booked a table at this venue, I have received countless promotional text messages from Bengal_42 to the point where it is pure harassment now! Despite deleting and blocking each message, each new message has a different number! And despite contacting them via email requesting the messages to STOP, the text messages continue! NO, I hugely regret ever contacting this place and giving them my phone number, it's beyond a joke now!

The restaurant is located in the town centre, plenty of free parking available after 6pm. The menu had the standard dishes and a few of the chefs specials. The portions were a good size, fresh ingredients and just the right amount of spices made a winning combination. Definitely worth a visit.

Jaber was absolutely sound. Service was brilliant and food was great. I always love a bit of spice and it did not disappoint.

Had the most fabulous takeaway tonight. The food was delicious. Both the samosas and Onion Bargi were flaversome and crisp. The Nan bread was cooked perfectly. Not oily. Main courses hot and plentyfull and tasty. Can't wait to order again

Stopped by early evening on the off chance of a free table. Premises clean tidy, service very good and food very tasty and well presented. If I am in the area again, would certainly pay another visit. Thumbs up from me (and family).

The Food at Bengal Lounge is always excellent. We visited again as the restaurant has been refurbished. The staff are brilliant and very friendly. My 8-year-old son says he rates them 5* for Service, 5* for Food, and an extra 5* as he was to go there every day! The new Sunday offer is a bargain at £15—lots of food, plenty to choose from, and still the same great quality.

Really great service and the food is the best Indian food we have tasted. Staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome each time. Couldn’t recommend enough and the new refurbishment has massively improved the feel of the place.

Had friends over staying with us here in pocklington, so we decided to go for curry, not been before, food was amazing 😋 plenty of choice, and good portions.. so much so I couldn't eat it , so the kind helpful staff boxed it up to take home. Lovely refurb too.... very relaxing . Really friendly helpful staff, atmosphere was great 👍 We will definitely be coming back, and would recommend it, if you want a decent authentic curry then give it a try. You won't be disappointed. Fabulous evening, Bengal lounge has recently had a make over and can I say it is fantastic! The food and service is exceptional, well worth a visit but be prepared to book on a weekend!!!

Amazing food! Poppadoms & Dips, then Sharer Pakoras, Samosas & Bhajis. Husband had Naga Mirch & I had Ceylon (both with Naan). By the time I came to my main meal I felt a bit full so I asked if I could get the rest to go, which they were happy to oblige & put our left overs in containers for us (made for a delicious breakfast!!) The restaurant was lovely & the staff were so friendly & provided a great service I would definitely recommend & would return.

We visit here twice a year when family get together we where highly pleased with the new look. The restaurant looks amazing. The food is always excellent and the staff attentive and friendly.would recommend darker blinds for blocking out the sun but other than that 10 out of 10 xx

Just got back from an amazing meal at Bengal Lounge. First time we've been since the refit and its better than ever - the place looks great after the refurb, the staff are so welcoming and friendly, and the food was incredible - well cooked, generous portions and super high quality ingredients - no stingy little pieces of meat lost in sauce but giant succulent chunks! It was honestly I think the best Indian meal that I've ever eaten, and we're already arranging to go back next month for birthday
