The best restaurants serving Asian food in Shropshire West Midlands

Brilliant food, service excellent, great menu selection just wish it was easier to find out opening hours as website link not working

Despite its rather unassuming exterior this small restaurant (now known as Thai Mere) comprising two ground floor dining rooms surpassed expectations. Having seen recent favourable reviews on TripAdvisor my intention was to stop for an early Saturday dinner. However, returning from Oswestry much earlier than planned with my wife and daughter we arrived at 1.20 p.m. Greeted upon entering we waited a couple of minutes during a service and were then shown to a table in the first section where nearby two couples were seated. Our drinks of Singha beer and tonic waters promptly arrived and we were then able to concentrate our minds on the serious task of menu selection. The first course of Poa Taek (mixed seafood soup including prawns, mussels and squid) and Prawn Tempura (tiger prawns in batter) followed. It was immediately evident from the presentation that the authentic cooking was on another scale when compared to many similar establishments. Visually appealing, well seasoned, succulent seafood, with good size portions was just the start. For mains we chose Nuea Pad Gatiem (stir-fried beef with garlic ), Pad Thai Chicken, Gai Pad Bai Gaprao (stir fried chicken with chilli and beans), Larb Mooh (minced pork), and Egg Fried Rice. After this feast only one diner succumbed to a dessert of Banana Bai and Ice cream. A consensus of opinion scored top marks for a very enjoyable lunch. Mention should also be made of the excellent service, high level of cleanliness (including washroom facilities), the comfortable seating, as well as the atmospheric Thai setting. Based on our first experience this little gem deserves to succeed.

Para alguien nuevo en cocina asiática o quizás un regular; esta es una visita obligada. Me pareció que para un amigo que era nuevo para estas premisas, el personal era demasiado dispuestos a asesorar sobre lo que para comenzar. El menú es bastante amplia con varios aspectos positivos para la mayoría de los platos. La popularidad de estos locales se mide por el hecho de que en mi última visita fue prácticamente llena a las 8 pm. atienden a familias como parejas y grupos pequeños.

Carvery was cold,Husbands chicken burger was dry,Daughters burger was burnt,Father in law and mother in law both had stakes and said were a little dry

Really modern restaurant. Good food and efficient staff. Reasonably priced. Takeaway food can take precedence though.I think the welcome you get there now is great and the staff really take time to talk to you.If your not sure what to order they will help you.They have started to build up quite a few regulars now so it's well worth booking ahead.They have recently given the restaurant a refurb and it's looking really good with more seating added.We have recently ate at Flavourz as we normally do if we have time at the weekend and the Restaurant and staff still excellent.One thing to mention is the parking,not a great deal outside the restaurant but you may sneak into one of the sidestreets.I guess this is what happens when you get popular.It has changed again recently with new decor,table lamps and a loyalty scheme. Flavourz has definitely changed lately to a very popular Indian restaurant.The staff they have definitely try to keep the diners and the takeaway diners happy, difficult when you only have a small restaurant to work in.

The food delivered was warm, the delivery driver didn’t know the whole address and spent 5 minutes walking around, then he argued with me explaining it was my fault, but I had provided full details, last time I’ll use this establishment

So pleased that Venue 7 is open and thriving! Living locally, we pop in once a week. Owners are friendly, the venue is clean, relaxed and modern. Bar snacks and games available, great drink selection and dog friendly! Lovely place to enjoy the river with HUGE outdoor seating area. Highly recommend, especially the spicy prawn crackers!

It was incredibly great. The food, atmosphere and especially the staff members were very good. Absolutely, recommend checking that place.

Myself and 19 other friends had a pre organised reservation at Shifnal Balti for 18:30 on Saturday the 14th of December. Our group where expected and we where shown to our 2 tables of 10 adjacent to one another. The waiter then told us he was going to place us all on one bill and we could split the bill at the end to which we replied we wanted to place the orders as couples and singles as we had different preferences and would like to pay separately. After approximately 40 minutes we were then passed bits of paper and pens and asked to write down our orders, which we did then after 15 minutes later we where then asked to write the prices of each item on the pieces of paper. Over an hour and we hadn’t had a drink order taken, we even had to ask for water and glasses for our table, on arrival it was noted that only 4 glasses where on the table of 10! 1hr 20mins after arrival still no orders for food taken people where getting frustrated, I was then approached whilst I was sitting down by a female member of staff who stood over me I hadn’t communicated with her at any stage and she said in a loud voice this isn’t the way we do things here! and you are not welcome here! I think she was referring to the whole group but directed it at me. with out saying a word I got up put my coat on and left this establishment closely followed by every member of the party! Disorganised and Rude about sums up our groups experience of Shifnal Balti, I would like to conclude with a massive thank you to Mins Cantonese for the warm efficient way in which they accommodated us setting up 2 tables of 10 getting everyone drinks in moments and the lovely food! swiftly and efficiently,Thank you!

First impressions are good with friendly staff and a stunning interior. Happily, the food matches those first impressions. Incredibly fresh, full of flavour and absolutely delicious. Everything we had was incredible and (especially if you take advantage of the Wednesday night offer) good value for money.

Not only was it over an hour late. It arrived cold. The also told me that he had to brake hard and the bag fell on the floor. One of the sauces was damaged. I am extremely disappointed and will not be going there again. What a terrible experience

This is a wonderful place to eat, made even more wonderful by the ladies who make the magic happen. This is my preferred place of providence in Oswestry, not a phrase I'd ever thought to utter. Whether you're Thai, bi or an old bloke like me, this is a place to eat through your dreams. My meat eating friends are in awe of the ribs. Not something I care for but the ladies look after my culinary exclusions, that is not something I take lightly. No alcohol sold on the premises, small price to pay. Can't recommend it highly enough.
