Zengh Fine Indian Dining in Shropshire

Waiter called Moe, I think he is from the Simpsons he was extremely rude contradicted myself and friend's re daguroesly under cooked food stone cold inside we refused to eat. Next morning spent on toilet due to food poising. Second strike went in for Tuesday buffet waiter called Moe refused to honour the deal, I guess you get the drift waiter should be sacked for being rude to customers and being a jerk.

Without a doubt, in the top three Indian meals I’ve ever eaten (and I’ve eaten a lot!), staff matched the quality of food and prices are so reasonable it’s actually cheap to eat out!

My Lamb madras was as good as anything I have eaten anywhere, my wife’s Butter Chicken was disappointing, the special rice we shared was great, the starters though nice were just to small to justify the price.

This is my favourite place for an amazingly tasty curry with super friendly service. I regularly go for dinner at Zengh and have never been disappointed. It's great value too as the prices are very reasonable with no compromise on quality.

Ordered a delivery whilst staying at Podslife, excellent Zengh Biryani and Fish pakoras, super delivery to think we were staying quite remote.

As a family we have a meal from zengh either takeaway or sit in every week and each time it is faultless amazing service and food and at great prices. Must visit amazing food

Dining in or take out, always fantastic. Had take out tonight, delivery was very prompt. Poppadoms and starters still crispy and crunchie. Curries were tasty. Mo will always go out his way to help and make every occasion great. Remembers favourite dishes and advises what else you may like. Prices are very good, cheaper than some other local Indians and food is better. A family favourite for us to go to. Has recently been decorated inside too, looks lovely. Arrived solo for early dinner as a new customer. Lamb chop starter was just two bones with onions really, no real meat on the bone. Chicken Balti main good as were the chapatti’s. The starter let the meal down. £19 for one with only water was not cheap and deserved better.

Quite impressive for such a little place. Food was hot and tasty and fairly priced. Bring your own alcohol if you want a drink. Only serve soft drinks. Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely meal here. A mixed starter was delicious, as were the meals of chef's house special (can't recall wife's but it was tasty). Naan's were excellent too. Rice nice. Very reasonably priced.

Small restaurant, clean but rather unimpressive decor. However the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was first class and well presented. Well worth a visit

Stayed locally, made last minute booking to eat in, phone never stopped with takeaway orders and we found out why! Great menu, fab freshly prepared food, first class customer service - no delay to our service. Highly recommended, thank you all X

Such a wonderful time we all had, we are a family of 4. We all had 2 courses and I was astonished at the amount of food we had in comparison to the amount the bill came to at the end of the meal. What an absolute bargain. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Felt well and truly spoilt. For us as adult we really do enjoy an Indian meal, we have eaten in many Indian restaurants but can honestly say that tonight's has been the most enjoyable. From a taste perspective and a service perspective. So pleased we travelled to the resturant to have this meal. Just makes us wish we had this quality of dining in Chester. Ordered a takeaway for five. After reading good reviews really disappointed . Poppadoms not crispy and tasted stale. Chicken in all curries had that twice cooked taste. Tikka masala was a vivd red. One of the dips with poppadom was a lurid green colour. Shish kebab wrapped in a stale tasting pancake. Samosa tasted ok but consisted of two mini samosa. Threw most of it away. Naan was ok.

Delicious food, great service. Haven’t been here for a while due to Covid restrictions. I don’t know if it’s because we haven’t been here for a while but the food was so tasty. Each dish completely different and so much that we bought it back home but have had to eat it straight away! Service is so friendly, and a bonus is that you can take your own alcohol. Will be back very soon.

Second visit! Ordered a takeaway for boyfriends birthday. Food was absolutely delicious and was delivered quickly. Forgot to pay when ordering and was told to not panic, eat and THEN phone so thank you! Peshwari Naan is particularly good. Thank you Mo for remembering us and sorry you had to work on your birthday!! The new dipping sauce was awesome. We will make sure to visit next time, and every time, we visit the area. Highly recommend visiting or ordering from here.

Staying in the area for a few days and ordered a takeaway from this restaurant. Could not eat in due to COVID 19. The food was excellent, really tasty and good value for money. Definitely recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

We were holidaying in the area, and had pre-booked, good idea as it's only a small restaurant, but the menu itself was large, great choice and they're also willing to tweak meals to suit your taste. We'd checked trip advisor before hand so knew to take our own drinks in, helps to keep the bill down. Had a lovely night and returning when next in the area.

We have visited Zenghs a couple of times recently with friends who are regulars. We we very impressed with the quality of the food and their ability to tweak a chosen meal to suit your taste. Such as a bit milder or spicier. The staff are brilliant. Very attentive but not over bearing. Very good value for money. We would suggest booking at the weekend as not many covers.

I love the Mumbai seek kebab with a chicken tikka vindaloo and pillar rice. It’s not too hot tbh and last time I asked for it extra hot and it was spot on. Will be back soon for a takeaway

Went on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was quiet. Friendly waiter and we had a pleasant chat about the restaurant. Onion bhajis to start were excellent. Achari chicken and chicken tikka korai were both excellent along with rice and nan. We eat curry fairly regularly and really enjoyed this meal. Bring your own wine was good for us.

Not a chance this is authentic quality Indian curry. Ordered for collection had a chicken curry. There was no taste, the sauce was like a child puree, you could not sense any of ingredients. Save your money or marry someone Indian who knows how to cook like i did

Essential to book a table at weekends, but so worth the bother. Delicious food, unusual, authentic curries served in a timely manner, and affordable too. The restaurant is unlicensed and so customers bring their own.

This restaurant serves a good selection of Indian dishes to cater for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. The food is authentic, service is efficient and is quite popular so it's advisable to make a booking in advance. We feel lucky to find good Indian food in the village where we live.

Had one of the best Indian meals here on Friday, that I've eaten in a long time. Food was delicious, full of flavour. We hadnt realised there was no licence but ordered our food and popped to the local shop for s bottle of wine! Staff attentive & courteous. Great value. Thank you!

me and a group of friends had a chicken tikka curry from here and what could we say the food was out of this world, the best i've tasted in a while. the customer service is fantastic and the restaurant is lovely and clean. i will certainly be using them again.

We visited on a Monday night after driving up from Sussex to visit the Ironbridge museums and stay in the area for a few days. The food was incredibly tasty, arrived quickly and was very reasonably priced. The peshwari nan was just delicious and each of our mains were flavourful, filling and we were incredibly impressed. Our waiter (Mo) was chatty, friendly and professional. I highly recommend eating here, if we lived here we’d be dragging family in!

Haven't been here for a couple of years, but still a good meal at a reasonable price, I always like being able to bring our own choice of wine.

Just had an amazing meal here. We both chose food from the chefs special menu, both meals were completely different from anything we've had before, beautiful spices and flavours. Best prawns I've ever had in a curry. Will return.

When Zengh first came to Broseley it was a breath of fresh air not having to travel outside the town to get a decent curry. Over the last year I have noticed a decline in standard which includes, freshness, quality of ingredient and service. Mo is over familiar at times and receipts/bill seem to be inconsistent beings though we always order the same. I think it needs to up its game considerably as it will loose regulars.

The food is good, the service is good but I do think that the portions are quite small for the prices they charge. Home delivery is very slow and it is a bit of a lottery as to whether you get the meals that you’ve ordered. That said, they are polite when you call them to explain their error but by the time they re-deliver, it’s just too late. It’s a shame because I believe they do try hard but we’ve just had too many “none perfect” experiences and have decided not to go there anymore.

The wife and I decided to treat ourselves to an early Valentine meal so decided to try this restaurant as we have never been before. The food was excellent but our visit was somewhat spoiled by a large very noisy group and a very mediocre service.

Table for 10 for birthday, great service, lovely food as always and great staff, esp Mo! Tried new dishes and they were great. Bringing your own alcohol makes evening relaxed

Tuvimos una cena maravillosa aquí con amigos, tenía el dhaba el pato tandoori, podina especiales y una alphonso. La mayoría de las cuales no había probado antes, y nos gustó todo de ellos. Panes Nan buena y arroz. Servicio agradable. Alcohol, pero se puede poner...

No te dejes engañar por el horario de apertura de este lugar. Haga temprano asegúrate de pedir porque si son tranquilas cierran temprano! !

Whilst down in Broseley visiting family, my wife and I decided, on recommendation, to visit this restaurant as we enjoy Indian dining.Rightly we were advised to book our table for the evening as the restaurant is not particularly large inside. Upon arrival we were met by the friendly staff and quickly shown to our table situated near to the kitchen counter. We were immediately offered glasses for our bottle of wine, we had taken, as the restaurant is not licensed to serve alcohol.After a look at the extensive menu we elected to share a starter of the mixed platter starter, followed by a king prawn bhuna for her and a chicken walla for me and a shared rice and a garlic nan.Starters quickly arrived and were very tasty and varied and served with yoghurt dipOur main meal took slightly longer to arrive but, to be fair, we needed the slight break to make room as the helpings are plentiful.Both mains were excellent and full of flavour and mine was nice and spicy as I had expected and indeed wanted.In all the food was a success however my gripe with this restaurant is one about room.The restaurant also does takeaway menu at a reduced price from the restaurant tariff, and on this experience it would appear, to be very lucrative for the business, however this means that diners have to suffer people standing around your table waiting for their orders.Whether our visit was a particularly busy night for takeaway orders or not I am not sure but throughout our whole night we had to endure people standing adjacent to our table waiting and watching us eat our meal whilst they waited to collect their meals to take them home to eat them in peace !!!At one point someone waiting even passed comment to his partner as to how much my meal looked and smelt nice !!!! We were not the only customers that felt this way as an adjacent table was also heard echoing our sentiment.This unfortunate experience could in my opinion, be easily avoided by the owner installing a wall from the main door to the counter and having a separate access door to the main restaurant. If I had wanted to eat my meal in the company of others then I would have chosen mcdonalds and not paid extra for the privilege. In conclusion if I was scoring this restaurant on the food and the staff then it would be 5 star all the way , however on the experience can only give it 3 as our evening was spoiltWould I use it again?..Yes for a take away in its current layout...... however if the owners take note and give consideration to our comments, we would love to return as diners

I have mixed feelings on Zengh. Their Rogan Josh and Saagwala are very good, but their Tikka Masala was a huge let down (not much better than a ready-meal). It's too gritty. I think they're reducing the base too much or adding too much almound/coconut powder.Not much meat in their Keema naans.I think you'd be better off spending your money at Kashmiri Cafe. They're much better (and cheaper).

Have enjoyed take aways, discount for collection, or the Tuesday banquet. Booking essential as it's such a good offer tables booked quickly. Food freshly cooked. Friendly staff. Take your own booze, glasses and water happily provided.

My wife and I have eaten in and had take away meals from Zengh quite a few times now and every meal has been great. The price is reasonable and the quality of the food is probably the best compared to other local Indians. The staff are always very friendly and they are more than happy to tweak the dishes to suit.

Have visited twice in the last 10 days. The restaurant is small and nicely decorated in a modern style. The tables sport crisp white table cloths and good quality crockery and cutlery. The service is efficient and friendly.The restaurant has 2 aspects that I hate. Take aways dispensed from the dining room and bring your own drinks.(Zengh is not licensed). So why 5 stars? Answer - the food is superb, with a menu which is varied with some stunning specials! Will return.

A small restaurant in a small town but well worth visiting both. The intimate setting is comfortable and immaculate. Staff are efficient and service cannot be faulted. The menu is varied and interesting and the food fresh and tasty. Very happy customers.

We are lucky enough that Zengh deliver to us. Really speedy delivery, faster than advised which was great. We had a chicken tikka spinach curry, boiled rice, keema naan and chips. The chips were tasty and piping hot. The boiled rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked not sticky at all. The curry was perfect as was the keema naan, perfect amount of spice. Flavourful but not too hot. The only thing I wish they did was a Nargis Kebab but you can't have everything!

For Indian food this hits the spot. I just wish they delivered to where I live! It is worth going out to fetch though. The menu seems a bit more upmarket than others and well worth trying new things.

Telephoned our order, we were told how long it would be, and they were right on time, really pleased with that on a Friday night. As usual the food was excellent, You even get a 15% discount off the menu, for having a delivery, 20% off if you collect.

If you are in Broseley this restaurant is well worth a visit. The food is everything you would expect with an Indian meal, tasty, delicious, and faultless.....!! The perfect stop-off after a visit to the local pub, just a stone's throw away, and the staff are incredibly welcoming too. Bring your own drinks though, as they do not serve drinks from what I could make out.

First time we have tasted the delicious food from Zengh, but definitely will not be the last. Collected take out, but next time will eat in, as we were made most welcome whilst we waited.

I go here often, at least twice a week, the food is fabulous and cooked fresh to the heat that you want, I have chicken vindaloo Naga, very hot. Bring your own alcoholic drinks as there is only soft drinks available. Friendly Staff, Kay, Mo n Ras make you feel very welcome.

I'm not just saying it because it's my local Indian but every single time I have eaten there I can never fault it. Both food and service! It's all presented beautifully and the staff treat you like royalty. There is loads to choose from and there is something for everyone.

We have eaten here three times so far, after having a takeaway the week before. The food is delicious and so fresh tasting. There is a salad and raita to accompany your starter and I had the scallop kebabs which were superb, just delicately spiced. On Tuesday there is a special banquet night, which is incredible value at £9.95 and includes a starter, main course, side dish and rice or bread. You need to book in advance and take your own beer or wine.There are plenty of different dishes to try and I am looking forward to working my way through the menu. Brilliant food and very good value.

We have been here lots of times, we're lucky enough to be able to call this our local, and the food and service is always brilliant. Delicious and varied menu with something for everyone.

Use this fine place twice a week sometimes more, food is excellent especially the Phal( very hot) not on the menu but just ask. Have to say, always take away as I live over the road, but the restaurant does look good and very clean. The staff are always friendly and very pleased to be of service, well worth a try.

Fantastic indian food. Lots of unusual dishes including fish dishes. This is not your late night indian after the pub closes this is a small restaurant with delicious food. Tuesday night has three courses for £9.95

Me and my wife ate here on a Saturday night, was pretty quiet when we arrived at 7.30pm soon got busier, but a really nice experience, it's a fairly small room but it's feels really pleasant and cosy, the food was really good, I always rate an Indian restaurant by its masala and this restaurants was really delicious, the staff were very friendly and would definitely eat there again if in the local area.

We have had a varied selection of cuisine over several months that we have used this establishment, and those times we have ordered delivery, it has been prompt and of the same good quality.

Had a vegetarian blow out with her ladyship. Had two veggie mains and two veggie sides, garlic naan and a rice. Very good! Tasty and fresh tasting. Staff pleasant too. Amazing value at 25 quid! Could not fault the place and would recommend! Sensor light in gents goes off very quick and requires the gent to go "rodeo style".

We went along to the Tuesday 'deal'. We had to book in advance, and when we arrived the place was full.Not a problem though, staff were on the ball. I ordered the Bengal Naga, which was exquisite, a very tasty curry, with definite Naga flavour - and some heat.We all had a try of each other dishes, and they were all different and very good.Can't remember the details of the deal, but a meal for four, with starter, sides, sundries and mains only came to £45. A bargain AND very good food.We'll be back.

Order a family curry and spent well over £15 and received no popadoms, onion mix or mint sauce as a compliment as most other indians do provide! Think they should look into doing this as its a nice extra to your meal. Food is excellent but just need that added extra

Good service, innovative menu, and my friends meals were great. But having paid an extra £10.95 I expected more than 4 king prawns in sea of (very tasty) sauce. Dissapointed.

We came to Zengh with our friends who.live in Broseley, this was our 3rd visit, The food is absolutely amazing very flavoursome and a little bit different to many Indian/ Bangladeshi restaurants - I can recommend the Mumbai Chops for starter - delicious and the Chicken Tikka Garlic Chilly Wallace was spicy and rich - my friend had the Mirchi duck which also tasted spectacular and a great range of side dishes - reasonably priced and served with a smile and courtesy - don't forget to take your own drink as it is not licensed. Booking advised as it gets busy. Thank you we will return very soon ☺

Used the delivery service on several occasions. At times the food is exemplary yet others it is flavourless and seemingly not very fresh with very poor quality meat.

I live close but have never been in until last night !first and last time may I add!! Staff =miserable,totally unfriendly.Food =rank .Ordered sea bass but when it came it appeared to be cod and it was OFF! When I cut into it the smell was atrocious and tasted sour ,needless to say I left the lot !Naan bread still doughy and visually under cooked !Couldn't wait to leave .NEVER AGAIN
