First impressions are good with friendly staff and a stunning interior. Happily, the food matches those first impressions. Incredibly fresh, full of flavour and absolutely delicious. Everything we had was incredible and (especially if you take advantage of the Wednesday night offer) good value for money.

Typical Indian restaurant food, fine but nothing outstanding. Staff could do with being a little more happy and engaging (apart from the chap that actually served us). Not sure I’d go back as there is now a far better option just up the road.

Very impressed by this restaurant. We visited on a BYO Wednesday evening. The food was delicious, plentiful and beautifully served. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, and the tables attractively laid with white table linen. The service was perfect. 10/10

Service is good other than on Saturdays when they can’t coot with volunteers of takeaways and diners. Saturday service is slow. No licence so take own drinks. Food food. Portions can be small-especially rice. Strange experience when we were there- table next to us eating their own food- takeaway pizza-/ alongside their meal!!! Odd. But it’s good local curry house. No specials. Menu does not change.

We ate here on a Sunday as we arrived in Church Stretton late and there was very little open. Recommended by our accommodation owners and seeing the Tripadvisor reviews were very good we arrived and got a table without booking (although I’d recommend booking as it seems popular). Service was extremely good and they were very helpful in recommending dishes for my dietary needs. All the food was very tasty. Portions were good, but we felt the price was higher than we would pay for a similar meal nearer home. Toilets are really in need of a bit of TLC hence the 4 instead of 5 star rating.

Had an excellent meal here on Saturday night. It was very busy and there was a wait for food. It was worth it though. Wish this place was near where I live! Really reasonable prices. BYO is a bonus. Nice staff.

Stopped for tea on a drive back from Cardiff to Cheshire. We were very impressed with the service and the food looked and tasted superb. Portion sizes were very good too. Happy to recommend and will return when driving this way again.

Pm meal last night I ordered my usual pre covid Chicken Tandoori no sauce, and large salad. 'Friend had starter stuffed veg, and then salmon curry. , a little pricier than mine.Friend loved her starter and main, I loathed my main , nothing like used to be over the 25years used this restaurant. No mixed spice taste or tandoori, and chicken legs very dry inside then loads of greasy oil poured over, lots of greasy onions, and salad was unmentionable in size and presentability.. Left most of my meal, but really glad my Yorkshire visitor enjoyed hers. Explanation for same weak, something about dyes, but I wanted to talk about where the spices were, and why no choice of chicken breast. Staff could see hardly eaten but no replacement or refund offered, or complimentary drink or side dish, or dessert. First time in 25yrs felt let down and not taken seriously how dire my meal was. Will still visit again as have loved this restaurant for many a year, and always remember the owner giving special attention to my daugher's 16th and ten friends having a special meal there. Daughter now 36yrs but lovely memory

Nice service. Waiters were very attentive. Covid security was brilliant. Chicken pakoras were very good. Salmon curry was beautiful! Lamb in dhansak was a bit tough, but sauce was nice. Sundries were lovely. Overall good stuff and lovely evening.

We have takeaways from this curry house quite frequently and it is usually fantastic. Ordered a family curry last night and was very disappointed, hope it’s just a one off 😞

I am an indian and can vouch that this is by far the worst indian food I have ever had. They have us stale food. The breads were not cooked at all. So please avoid them.

The food served in the Jaipur is always fabulous and is consistently to this standard every time we visit which isnt bad as we have been a regular for the last 18 years.Sam Emlack and his team are the always cheerful and helpful and my friends and family all think this is the best Indian food they have tasted.I agree and we will be back again for another fantastic meal sometime in the near future.We like the new decor and think that they have done a really good job on refurbishing the toilets.Very modern clean and state of the art Derek and Ann

Very friendly staff who made a fuss of a young lad with his family eating at the restaurant, as well as went out of their way for a confused elderly lady who had walked in whilst we were dining. The food was really fresh and tasty and there was no wait. We really enjoyed our meal here.

This Indian restaurant is one of the best we've ever found; so good that we travel 200 miles a couple of times a year to eat here!It's just re-opened for eat-in meals (July20) and the food is as good as ever. An interesting menu which has all the usual British-Indian dishes, accompanied by some interesting house specials, too. All are carefully flavoured, not the usual identikit sauces.Portion sizes are generous; food freshly cooked. In more than two decades we've never had a bad meal here.Tables are now reserved in advanced; they're mainly in separate booths which makes distancing very easy. Staff mainly wear facemasks; all kept their distance. Meals now served to the table (not served onto the plate) to maintain distance. It all felt safe and sensible, but without being intrusive. (Oh, and the bathroom facilities have been recently improved, too!)Really pleased to see these guys open again. Currently Tues-Sun (not Mondays).Totally recommended.

We visited the Jaipur for my mum and dads 60th wedding anniversary and my fathers 89 birthday, the food as always was delicious, plenty of choice and cooked to perfection. It was the first time out since lockdown and we were made to feel perfectly safe and waited on superbly. We were placed on three tables in family groups and all the staff wore face masks etc. Top restaurant.

Takeaway service at it’s best , Jaipur will be closed every Monday. Open for 6. Days a week TUESDAY TO SUNDAY. From 5:30pm till 11:00pm

The Jaipur has just reopened for takeaways only. Having eaten there many times in the past and always been impressed by the food, todays takeaway was of the same standard. Two months of covid closure hasn’t harmed the great tasting food or the warm welcome from the staff. Welcome back!

Looked after us extremely well, food very good and good wine list.We visited just over a week ago when the storms were raging and the restaurant was full.

FSA hygiene rating still 4 and there were a few things I thought needed attention. The toilets aren't good and the menus were a bit sticky!Food and service were very good as usual and that's the important thing hence 4 circles.Minor issue when the food arrived, the waiter took one look at the Balti and realised it wasn't right. We suggested that if it was the wrong dish it wasn't a problem but the waiter stood there looking around for someone he knew. It took a while before he just disappeared. He didn't speak very good English so we still have no clue what the problem was. Anyway shortly afterwards we got the Balti we'd ordered.

On My Travels, Stopped At Jaipur. Food Was Great, ii Enjoyed My Lamb Tawa Main Along With A Plain Naan, My Brothers Ordered Several Starters Including The Butterfly Prawn,Which They Also Enjoyed. Great Service👌

After a beer or two in the Old Coppers we collected a takeaway from The Jaipur, ordered 25 minutes earlier and ready on time.A couple of dishes between 3; Chicken Dansak and a Tandoori King Prawn Shashlick and some papadoms with chutneys.I found all of it delicious, there was a bit of a gripe about the 'Tandoori speciality'; too few prawns and not as good as the Dansak. There were 3 little pots with the papadoms, 2 were the same!Recommended and there's still a picture of their legendary regular above the bar, Mr Pete Postlethwaite OBE.

Helpful team and menu. Allowed everyone to order individually and for the bill right. Enjoyed the food and has shot up my list of places to visit next time I fancy an Indian. Feels a bit off the beaten track the first time you drive there but actually very close to the M6 junction.

Definitely worth a visit here. We visited on a Tuesday evening and had the buffet. Although there isnt a huge variety, what they do have is very tasty and it's well priced.

As fans of the good old curry, we chanced upon the Jaipur and decided to try it out.What a great decision that turned out to beThe staff were attentive and courteous, and the food, well, almost a week later, I'm still salivating just thinking about it.I won't bore you with our personal selections, as everything we saw being delivered to various tables around us (as well as our own) looked fantastic. Judging by the reactions of everyone around us, it tasted as good as ours did.Well worth a visit

Looking really tatty inside. Nokmey has been spent on inside for years. Seats shabby. Menus falling apart and plastic sheets inside are stained and sticky. Loos are horrid, pipes and wires sticking out of walls. We went on a quiet night so could really notice how bad it’s looking. Food ok. Pestered by waiters to buy over priced drinks, they asked every five mins. I think the people who run this place have got a bit lazy and rely on locals coming in.

This restaurant is lovely, the food is amazing only downside is when they get busy they can easily forget what they are doing such as getting drinks. Staff are all friendly and the restaurant has a great atmosphere.

Ate here on a Thursday evening, food was excellent with good prompt and friendly service from all of the staff. Main meals were hearty and full of good quality chicken. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good quality Indian food.

We visited as a family on the weekly buffet night. There was a reasonable choice for the price. The staff were friendly and service was good.

I have been told by a few people to give them a try, so I did. Booked a table for Friday night and we went. Warm welcome, immediately taken to the table, drinks and poppadoms arrived quickly. Very crisp and fresh poppadoms. Food order taken. The food came in a timely manner and it was very tasty, my fellow diners thoroughly enjoyed their meal as well. The waiter replenished our drinks and was very attentive.

We visited of a Sunday evening on our wedding anniversary. The restaurant was busy but not particularly so and there seemed to be plenty of staff on duty.

Really fancied an Indian and it didn’t disappoint.

I moved to Shrewsbury 2 years ago and have struggled to find a good curry house compared to the standard in Wolverhampton. I had been hearing great things about the Jaipur so booked the restaurant for my mom's 60th. The food was fantastic with everyone thoroughly enjoying their meals (especially the cheese naan ) The waiters went above and beyond to make sure it was a special occasion for my mom and can't thank them enough!

After a trip to the Bucks to watch the cricket, we ordered a takeaway and enjoyed a quick pint at the Kings.

We ate here on a Monday evening. The range of curry is pretty wide and the food we had was excellent. Had a long chat with one of the waiters, all the staff are friendly and very helpful.

What a great place for eating. Staff friendly and thoughtful. Went twice while staying in the area and food and service good both times. Second visit was for their Feast Night (all you can eat) and quality was good again and it included pops and chutneys to start off and naan with a choice of about six or seven curries which you could mix and match. Thank you to the staff for their efficiency and friendliness.

It’s been such a long time since we had a properly tasty curry - our last several visits to an Indian have been disappointing bland affairs. But this was fab - every dish was really good and very tasty.

A fairly nice and busy Restaurant. Service was ok. I was on my own and would have preferred longer gaps between starter and main. There was no gap. The main arrived almost as the starter was being cleared. The food itself was typical although the dansak that I had could have been a little hotter from a spice chilli point of view.

Not had a decent curry in ages and we knew we were staying nearby for a week's holiday so I was very much looking forward to my takeaway. I was not disappointed. Great service from the staff, very friendly and welcoming. Offered a drink while we waited which is always nice. Food absolutely spot on, 100% recommend.

When we are staying in the area we almost always get takeaway from here, it's tradition, especially as we don't have a decent Indian restaurant where we live.

A bunch of us went out for a meal. The staff were friendly and very attentive. The food was generally good with good size portions. The big letdown was the cleanliness of the building and especially the toilets. It is amazing how nice these places look when you have had a beer and the lights are dimmed. The big shock for me was the price at the end of the evening. It was quite expensive even after we all split the bill. For that sort of money the place could do with a bit of a spring clean. To sum up, good food,good staff but not cheap and a bit grubby.

As always this place never lets us down, with friendly and welcoming staff and amazing food to boot and the price is always good and as always there is a wide selection to choose from which can be cooked to any preference. I will always go back and recommend to as many people as I can.

Although I have only rated this restaurant as average please don’t let that deter you. The food is good and the portions generous, except for the rice - a single portion was not really enough for 2 even sharing a naan bread. This is a common theme with Indian restaurants, and given that rice is relatively cheap I do wonder why they skimp - it can really only be for 1 simple reason. The service was good although it was a bit odd for each main dish to have 10-15 Secs on a gas powered camping stove and then be half served before being left on the usual hotplates. That said we all enjoyed the food very much.

We ordered a take away early on Saturday evening. The wait was 40 minutes. The meal was ok, but fairly tasteless. We all felt it was very expensive for a take away.

We were staying in the local area and got a takeaway. The phoned order was checked carefully over the phone and then we collected in person. The food was ready when we arrived to collect it, and was still hot when we got it home to eat.

Having arrived in the area late on Saturday we were in need of a quick fix tea. We popped into Jaipur to order a take away which wasn't a problem, there was a 30 min wait which wasn't an issue as we did some food shopping in nearby Co-op, returned and the food was ready to take. Reasonably priced and full of flavour we decided to return for our last evening!

First night in our holiday let and a takeaway was on the cards. Curry always wins!. One of the best we have had we have already decided to have another one before we go home !

A friend told me to try the Jaipur buffet and I’m glad we did. Arrived just as they opened and the food was hot and a great selection of it as well. Not your usual buffet, a small but nice selection with a variety of flavours and nice to see fish and. Lamb as well as chicken.

Called in on spur of the moment on Saturday evening early having not been there for some time , chicken in my curry was very tough and dry shame used to be really tasty place to eat Sorry guys I think things are slipping

A bit worried as there were a very limited choice of places to eat in Church Stretton on a Monday night in September. I needn't have been, our food was really nice & the service was excellent. No hesitation recommending/returning.

I went to Jaipur for an early dinner on a Saturday. The restaurant was still empty, service was professional but a bit clumsy and food was fine - the dhal was good, chicken was tasty but very tough, the paratha was good, dessert was obviously supermarket bought.

Fortunately, I booked this a few weeks earlier, just as well as it was full and extremely busy. Not just for people trying to get a table but for takeaways too.

Ate here August Bank Holiday , food ok, tasted ok, typical Indian restaurant food modified to suit the English taste, nothing to write home about, would I eat here again , probably yes but not really bothered, we are still looking for that Indian meal where we can say fantastic , but sadly not here.

Had bulk order for our group. All good quality, and on time. AND most importantly not oily. Wide range of naans also tasty and well prepared. Accessible but not sure re accessible toilet.

Visited on an early Sunday evening and it was busy. This did not affect the service or speed of food. Can't remember the names of the dishes but I can say everything was very tasty, beautifully presented and plenty of it, so much I had to have some boxed up to take away as didn't want to leave it. Our large party of 11 gathered at Jaipur for the buffet dinner on a recent weeknight evening. Once seated, our drinks order was quickly taken and served, and we were off to the races for the buffet. As we were among the first parties to arrive for the evening sitting, everything was fresh and piping hot - the only detraction was that the rice and naan were delayed in their arrival, so we could load up our plates with delicious Indian curries but without the rice and naan. Still, that was soon resolved. Table service was efficient with the clearing of plates as people made return trips to the buffet.

Come here tonight for brother in laws 40th we’ve already been 3 times the food and staff have always been 100% amazing 9 of us went tonight and unbelievable, food as always was spot on quick service they can’t do enough for you here they’ve even bought a a free dessert with a candle out for the birthday boy and sang happy birthday for him even though they were busy this is by far one of the best Indians you could ever visit as heading says if you can find better I need to know!

Yeah - proper flavours, great staff and service, great choices and they cant do enough for you. The price - bit too much though - as evidenced by only 5 tables in use at 7.00 pm on a Summer Saturday....it was early though.. Watch out for the little harmless looking chillis in the hotter dishes - great burn man! Decor a tad dated maybe? But hey, just what I picture in my mind's eye when I want a sit down curry. Great job fellas!

Although a bit slow getting seated even though we'd booked it's worth it . We have eaten here a few times before . The food is so good we keep coming back . The selection of dishes is great . It is brought to the table efficiently and really hot . You get plenty of meat in each dish , they don't skimp on anything . Staff are friendly and polite . Prices are as you expect from an Indian restaurant . Overall great .

We were staying nearby and fancied getting a takeaway as we had had a long day so we popped in and ordered a takeaway. We then had a wander around Church Stretton while we waited, our food was ready when they said it was an even though we had a good 10-15 minute drive to the cottage it was still very hot when we arrived.

This was our first visit to Church Stretton, meeting up with friends who live in the area. They had told us that Jaipur was "moderately good", so I was cautious and checked out other reviews first. Our friends had made the reservation, but we arrived a few minutes early, waiting for them. The staff were welcoming and, upon the arrival we were shown to a round table, with two chairs and a fixed bench seat. The seating was comfortable, but the table could accommodate 6 diners, so we were rather spread out from each other, and voices had to be raised due to this and the sounds of other happy guests!

Came in with family to eat after a visit to Shropshire.. Great atmosphere.. Food was amazing.. staff were great, very friendly and very helpful.. Very highly recommended.. Will definitely go eat there again when we visit Shropshire..

We go every week, mainly on a Sunday. The food is always superb, it dies exactly what’s it says, it is one of our favourites. Go, you won’t be let down!

Called in for the fist time, a leaving do, about 20 of us, table laid for us, think it's fair to say everyone enjoyed there meal, eat as much as you want for £12.

Had the buffet good value and good food - go back as many times as you like - service very good as well

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays the Jaipur do an excellent " eat as much as you can" buffet. The difference is here all the food on offer is excellent, no re heated yeaterdays stuff, but all good hot made today food. a brillant evenings eating!
