The best restaurants serving Asian food in Croydon London

Excellent restaurant. Food was incredible and service was kind and attentive. I would 100% reccomend.

This evening my family and I dined at this fantastic place Machan Kitchen in Croydon. We were blown away by the service given to us by the staff member Yenda, she was extremely polite and professional taking great care of our menu requests and explaining our dishes of choice. The food was absolutely first class and full of flavour with a hint of spice. We left there extremely pleased with everything and will be back very soon. I highly recommend Machan Kitchen to everyone

This was the first meal out I have had since the beginning of the pandemic. This place has a fairly large concrete garden area for dining and drinks. The staff here are very hard working, friendly and attentative. I ordered the satay chicken which was very good as was the satay sauce it comes with. The spare ribs were very flavourful, well cooked and were coated in a sticky soy glaze. The chicken garlic with peppers was particularly good. The coating was well seasoned, crispy yet delicate and the chicken itself incredibly tender. I also ordered a beef massamun curry with rice and noodles, all of which tasted great. Drinks were all served nice and cold. Can not fault this place at all and well done to them for providing such an exceptional experience.

We visited for the first time to try Bao Bao bubble tea .. we all liked it very much!! The staff is very helpful and kind. Pls do visit to experience something new.

Curries were always good here when the restaurant was called Rice n Spice but since the change of name and menu the food is possibly even better with an eye on the fresh ingredients, herbs and spices. Now they definitely stand out from the crowd for exquisite flavours and excellence. I highly recommend a visit even if it is a bit off the beaten track, a really nice place to eat out with friends or a special occasion. Delicious.

Ordered for takeaway and absolutely inedible. A super thick layer of oil on both curries. Even tried stirring it in and was still left with a ridiculous amount of oil (which is probably why it also spilt all over the bag). Picture is after stirring!

Very bland wouldn’t order again

The prawns tasted funky and after we told the waiters. He said that it was how it supposed to be. Clearly it wasn’t, It is not our first time eating Asian food. We were not offered a replacement dish of any sort. In the end We did not eat it and after asking for a discount the waiter felt the right to get upset with us (yes, he got upset, the poor thing and we were the one being asked to pay for bad food) he refused the discount saying that he wouldn’t do it just because we didn’t like the food?!! Good job! Keep treating your customers like that.

I don’t want to write a long winded review abut this place but I feel I need to send out a public health warning for people that won’t realise how this place is taking advantage of the food ignorance of some of the general public. What we ordered for starters : chicken satay for starters: when it arrived to the table the chicken was covered in peanut sauce,it was very dry and tasted rancid and sour, sent back and the came back the same , did not eat it. The clue that there was something wrong was the fact that the chicken was covered with the peanut sauce, this is not normal when ordering chicken satay. What we ordered for main course: Beef rendang , chicken rendang, rice , roti , stir fry vegetables . The vegetables wear good, roti was tasty but very oily,beef rendang was not great ,it was too wet more like a stew not like an authentic dry Randang and it had an unpleasant after taste. Chicken rendang is a made up dish not an authentic to Malaysia but thought I would try it , wish I didn’t , I did not like the smell so did not eat much . Most of the food was still left when we asked for the bill and The manager asked if we wanted to take the food away my response was no we didn’t this food is rubbish . I think this restaurant is desperate for the penny and don’t care that they are serving up poor quality food that is not fresh because some people don’t know any better. As someone that’s been fortunate to visit Malaysia a few times i can say that this place is doing a poor representation of Malaysian food and the most disturbing thing is that I think they are knowingly serving food that’s going off.

El sábado por la noche hice masala de langostinos reales y terminé en A&E en las primeras horas de la mañana del domingo con gastritis aguda causada por intoxicación alimentaria. He estado en cama durante 4 días, vomitando y lloriqueando, a pesar de que el hospital me dio medicamentos contra la enfermedad. El restaurante no se está responsabilizando o tomando esto en serio. Me he perdido 4 días de trabajo (no pagado) debido a la negligencia de este restaurante y están ofreciendo un reembolso de £ 12. 95 para las gambas. Por favor, no arriesgues tu salud comiendo en este restaurante. Ahora tengo dolor renal, que podría deberse a la deshidratación o algo más siniestro.

Amazing satay chicken with egg fried rice, and starters were varied and tasty, and clearly freshly cooked. Nice staff, quick service and priced between a takeaway and a restaurant, so felt good value. Enjoyable evening!

Hands down worst place in South Croydon. Avoid like the plague

Can’t comment on the atmosphere because I always get takeaway but the matar paneer and tarka dhal are always so good and always speedy service!!

I have been using this Indian restaurant for many a year but unfortunately tonight the food was way under Par. I found the food lupe warm and meat was fatty and the juice watery. I’ve never been let down before tonight.had a delivery 5/4/2025 and it was like the old days food perfect ,service good,price £30 well done back to normal.
