Excellent Thai food with good vegetarian options.

Very tasty food, I had the Chicken Penang curry, which was really nice. My husband had a Chicken Stir Fry which he enjoyed. I would definitely order from here again.

Fantastic local restaurant, for dine in and takeout. Always really friendly and the food is always amazing. I no longer live in the area, but will always go here when paying a visit!

It was awful! Worst Thai ever. Firstly, we didn’t get what we ordered! It was meant to be Pad Thai instead we got stogy soya fried rice with barely any greens or prawns. It was waaaayyy to expensive, especially for something we didn’t order! Devastating experience! And I’d like a refund!

OMG. It’s even tastier than what I had back in Thailand. It’s definitely a hidden gem and we will come back again. Thanks Pim for the excellent service.

Placed àn order for over £100 - food was cold, missing orders & sub-standard! Called up & the woman on the phone was not helpful. Menu on website is NOT the same as Deliveroo. Surprisingly Deliveroo were not helpful ei ther. Still waiting for 2 dishes which I doubt I will ever get. Not happy & please be careful when ordering from Mantannah.

Very disappointed with the food tonight. It was bland and tasteless. As for the fish cakes, well myself and my partner spat it straight out! Is there a new chef working there?

Had a takeaway from here - really straightforward to place order over the phone and it arrived within 40 mins. Huge menu and some great veggie options. Sadly no Thai crackers which we had expected, and the rice felt quite stale but everything else was incredibly tasty. It would be even better if they used sustainable packaging.

Great food and atmosphere. We’ve had some issues in the past ordering take away from them through Just Eat. Best way is to dine in the restaurant or order take away from them directly. The food is worth it.

The curry was inedible, the smell was rancid and it tasted very sour

Disappointing, first time I have had bland Thai food, they water down the sauces a lot. What is described as ‘very spicy’ on the menu ended up being mild probably because of the watery sauce. Won’t be ordering from here again.

Very disappointed... Should have gone to Icelands. Just as bland but would have been cheaper. Also, they don't appear to be committed to any form of sustainability initiative. My order came in 3 plastic containers. Hope they're recyclable.

We used the restaurant’s app to order a takeaway for delivery. The app took payment and there is nothing that says the restaurant is closed. Tried to contact restaurant when order not delivered only to find it’s closed!! Why can’t the restaurant just update their app-really frustrating we’ll have to now wait until they’re open and try to get our money back. We won’t bother ordering from here again-really poor

I'm pretty greedy so know all my local hidden gems, I'm also a fan of fresh seafood, so Mantannah has it all, it's a very small restaurant so you may have to book in advance but it's always a good buy and close to home.

Ordered though an app - super tasty food with generous portions with some more premium seafood dishes on offer. Fresh and delivered in good time. Definitely recommend and will order again!

It’s great to find a restaurant focused on genuine Thai cuisine. Beautiful dishes include the Yum Yum beef salad, tender Masamun beef curry, and Kha Nom Jeeb dumplings. All with a classic Pad Thai. Full of flavour as well as spice. Will definitely order here again 👏

Found the food generally bland, watery and uninspiring. Rice a bit cold. Order included one dish which was supplied not as described. We have had good experiences there in the past both eating in and takeaway but will not be returning.

A cosy and comfortable dining room with friendly staff. A wide menu selection with a lot of vegetarian options. Every dish we had was high quality. Throw in a nice bottle of wine and it's a winning combination. Definitely worth a visit if you're around Norwood Junction.

Claimed that they lost our order (we have email receipts) and then refused to remake it. And only told us 1 hour after accepting our order. Very disappointing.

I eat in, or order takeaway, from this lovely restaurant all the time. It's an absolute gem! I don't know what the negative reviews are talking about - I've been to Thailand and eaten Thai food for years, and always enjoy the food here. The staff are so friendly and kind - they always go out of their way to accommodate my dietary requirements (I'm coeliac). The food is reasonably priced and delivery is always pretty quick. Highly recommend it.

Great food, as always, and good drinks list, combined with excellent service. Now all Covid-19 safe too. The waitress even concocted a new cocktail on-the-fly, as they did not have all the ingredients for one off the menu, and it was very good. Possibly the best Thai food for miles around, certainly our experience for over 20 years coming to this great place. Took our neighbour along recently as they'd never eaten Thai before, and they were impressed. Regrettably, no Thai wines available at present, which is a real pity. Not clear exactly what the supply chain issue is causing the shortage. They even deliver their lovely food, which we make some use of.

Lovely authentic food. Went there with a friend the other evening, its a fairly small restaurant but very cosy! Enjoyed everything we've ordered. Our waitress was absolutely lovely, we've had a great chat at the end of the meal. Lots of food for £70, really affordable.

Came with my family and the food was such a disappointment. Send two meals back including what promised to be a green curry but was just veg and coconut milk. Salad was a shame also

Ordered a takeaway for delivery, Penang with Chicken, Phad Prig Khing, Sideways King Prawn, all 3 dishes had great flavour and very moorish, will definitely be ordering again.

Ordered a takeaway for my birthday treat, delivery man came with the wrong food, we rang the restaurant and tried to explain they said it wasn’t there problem and was not willing to help as through Uber eats. We ordered another meal from a different place that arrived okay, they then rang back and said your food was here and forgot to give it to the driver. We have been going here for years but unfortunately they have lost a customer!! Poor customer service what a shame!

Great local Thai restaurant and it is such good value. Staff are always very friendly and service is quick. Would definitely recommend eating in over getting a takeaway

Slightly scruffy location, but very good Thai food

Disappointed. Been coming here for nearly 15 years, but since management change few years back customer satisfaction has severely deteriorated. Ordered 90 quid worth if takeaway, and the manageress did not have the customer care or savvy to offer us an alternative, since they'd 'run out of prawn crackers' at 7 pm. The exact same thing I was told on last 2 visits!!!!

Been coming here for close to 15 years, but sadly last few visits has left a lot to be desired. Since the management change. Ordered 90 quid of takeaway for collection tonight, and they had no prawn crackers. At 7 pm. Ok, that's fine, but a savvy caring manageress would have offered an alternative, to ensure customer satisfaction.

We visited on Christmas Eve. They were super accomodating of the change in reservation. Great service and lots of options for vegetarians. Would definitely come here again

Delivery was a bit late and the food was only luke warm when it arrived. The veggie spring rolls were flavourless, the papaya salad was alright though but the pad Thai was a complete disappointment. Only 4 prawns in the whole dish and barely any veg and no sign of peanut and zero flavour, it is literally just greasy noodles. Paid £20 for the meal, complete waste of money.

Ordered from Justeat, food was meant to arrive within 45-65 mins. 80 mins after ordering, I got through to the restaurant and they informed me my food hadn't been cooked but it would be with me within another 20 mins. 30 mins later, we got through to them to be told the food was ready and going out for delivery - 6 mins drive. 20 mins later, still no food, called the restaurant to be told that they couldn't tell me when the food would arrive. Total time at this point was well over 2 hours at this point so we decided to cancel the order, but by this time, it was too late to order anywhere else. The order was refunded, but the reason given was "couldn't find the address" which is frankly just insulting. Considering the whole point of a takeaway is to remove stress, this restaurant failed spectacularly.

Great Thai food! Our papaya salad was particularly good, a delicious mix of sweet and savoury and spicy! I also greatly enjoyed my garlic chicken. Would highly recommend.

Terrible food quality! Every single item was sweet horrible tasting, despite specific request for extra spicy add on! Besides, the food was terrible quality - Mish mash sweet noodles, hard sweet satay chicken, sweet Thai green curry and hard exterior / sweet interior spring rolls! Would not recommend to anyone!

I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because i usually order from here and it's lovely. Not sure if they are just busy tonight but was very very dissapointed. The soup had spilled somehow into all the other dishes, so everything was soggy. It was cold, not fresh tasting either. The prawn crackers were stale! I hope they haven't been taken over as I'm reluctant to buy again now.

Soooo thrilled that they do mock meat for those that do not just want to eat vegetables as a vegetarian. Seriously amazing food, and great to have a full meal not having to just eat sides as a veggie. Really appreciate the effort put into vegetarian meals which other restaurants very much lack.

So, so good. Get the panang and the pad thai. Green curry tofu is good too. Online menu is confusing (why is the papaya salad in veggie mains all the way at the bottom and not in starters? But whatever, still a great place and worth all your money. Best most authentic thai food in south london 👌 Thanks so much!

Really nice and clean place. THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!! Freshly cooked, tasteful and seasoned, well presented and the portions are good.... I cannot fault it. The staff are really friendly also which gave a nice vibe to the evening. Will defo be going back and even start ordering takeaway too!!!!

From the high ratings online we were really looking forward to a Saturday Thai meal. A true disappointment. Bland, over-cooked, no fragrance or separation of flavour of a good Thai meal. Very ordinary and very avoidable.

My first time visiting this place. I’m from Thailand 🇹🇭 I love my Thai foods but I can’t find Thai restaurants cooking Thai foods like in Thailand. Having visited UK 6 years ago and enjoyed this restaurant I was disappointed in the food on this visit. I had the rump steak stir fry and it was underwhelming. Steak was chewy, flavours not as good as I am used to and I thought the jasmine steamed rice was gluggy. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Went as a couple on the hottest bank holiday weekend. In a uninspiring area largely featuring barbers and fried chicken joints, walking into Mantanah was quite a reveal; a small sweet waitress in Thai attire greeted us with a slight bow, hands clasped, uttered a welcome phrase in Thai. Ok, we're not in Kansas anymore. We had two cocktails, the one with the ginger was preferred above the other. We had the mixed starter. I had a Hungley and Phad Thai. My wife had something too hot, as usual. The food was good, very good. But the air-conditioning contributed to it getting lukewarm a little quicker than usual. The desserts were ok. Didn't feel fresh but that's not what they major on. Overall it was a nice evening and we would come again, but not in the summer next time.

Just exactly what we want from a restaurant. Lovely hot freshly cooked ingredients served with a huge smile.

People need to understand that thai rice is made differently it’s not uncooked or left overs, it’s how it’s made and this place is amazing but seeing the reviews of people complaining about their food is only because they don’t understand how thai people make their food

Visited this place for the first time yesterday (18/05/19) after reading the reviews also it is not so far from where I live and it was really nice, food is very good and tasty. The place is clean and airy and the Thai deco nice. The service can be a bit slow but don't let this put you off just enjoy it. The two girls serving are very friendly. I will visit the place again.

Popped in Sunday lunchtime (open 12-3, website a bit useless). Had been meaning to try for a while. They have a 2 course lunchtime special at £7.95 each or on the a la carte suggested set meals at £24.50 and £29.50 per person which for Norwood Junction would be a special occasion treat in my opinion. The restaurant although not inviting from the outside, is well decorated light & bright inside. We were comfortable at our table for two. We parked near by at Pay & display Grosvenor Road/Belgrave Road, appx 35 spaces, free on Sundays. (Some prices rounded) We opted to do our own thing and ordered the mixed starter for 2@£13. Spring roll, "filo" wrapped large prawn, rubbery but interesting fish cake, minced chicken,& water chestnut samosa & golden money bag(filled with pumpkin- hub found interesting.) Then shared beef masoman curry, chicken garlic fever stirfry @£8 each & jasmine rice@£3. Beef exceedingly tender with sweet potato possibly or pumpkin. Garlic fever chicken was divine. The portions looked small but we were both full up, I was stuffed. Large Bottle fizzy water @ around £3 so overall nearly £36 for two. A large party who had obviously been before arrived and then opted for the lunch time special, which is something for us to try in future. The waitress was lovely and welcoming. We will definitely return and also try out their takeaway service as we live locally. Summary : very tasty food. Please let me know if this much detail is helpful.

Came here late on a Saturday evening after a very heavy session on the beers at Crystal Palace service was excellent very attentive and quick. Food was really tasty I enjoyed my beef masaman and my friend liked his pad Thai. Very reasonably priced too.
