Yak & Yeti Restaurant in Croydon

We had a family takeaway treat delivered. I have experienced Nepalese food before and enjoyed it so I opted for these dishes on the menu, the other three family members were keen to share their dishes so we ended up with a buffet experience. The portions were good and the flavours authentic. If you prefer a more traditional Indian dish they are available on the menu, however it is worth experimenting with some of the less known dishes too. I enjoyed all the other meals on our buffet! My only complaint is that there was not a vegetable rice on the takeaway menu. I look forward to another meal on our return.

This Indian restaurant is brilliant, the food is superb and the staff are friendly and attentive definitely one of the best I have ever been to. Will be back in December when I next visit the area 😊

My husband and I visited Yak and Yeti last weekend. We were looking forward to eating here as the recent reviews seemed promising however we were mistaken. We were not led to our table but told in a rude and abrupt tone to 'SIT OVER THERE!' Ignoring this we sat down. Only food menus were dumped on our tables. We made our selection, closed our menus and we told the older gentleman (who was rude and abrupt) that we were ready to order but we needed the drinks menu. He then dropped them on the table proceeded to take orders from two other groups who came in after us, drinks and food. As he walked past he took our drinks order and I told him we were ready to order ages ago. but then Ee were left again, whilst he served others. We almost drank our drinks and he still didnt come.we had had enough, so my husband went to the bar to pay for the drinks where we stood for another five minutes being ignored, so we left. The service was appalling and I definitely do not recommend this restaurant as the Head waiter was rude and didn't know how to run the floor.

Large menu with various dishes. Had a good range of vegan and vegetarian dishes. The waiter was attentive and let the vegans know which dishes were theirs. The food is okay, it's not greasy but it's not the best I have had. The service was good, if a little slow but all in all, a pleasant experience.

Brilliant take away. Very varied menu- everything I've tried so far has been delicious. The staff are brilliant. We always go and collect, and if we have to wait a few minutes they often give you a beer on the house whilst you wait. They give us a discount every time we go! We have been addicted to yak and yeti since we found it.

Fantastic food, quick service, ordered enough for about a week. Great variety, good for vegetarians and vegans.will definitely orders again.love to support local businesses.

Was forced to cancel a birthday celebration at a restaurant the other night due to a family member being unwell. In an attempt to salvage the evening we ordered takeaway from Yak n Yeti. It was beyond amazing, they totally surpassed themselves - lots of full, happy tummies. So lucky to have this restaurant on our doorstep ...........

Great curries, particularly the Achari Gocht. Curry when ordered for delivery is always fast and hot. Would recommend.

Party of 5 arrived at 7pm, we asked repeatedly for tap water at the table (it was 26 degrees, we were at the back of the restaurant with no windows and no air con as had been advertised). The waiter brought over the wine we had ordered, but when it came to order a second round of drinks the waiter left before we had a chance to order so we didn’t bother trying again. We finally received the water at 9:45pm after our mains had eventually arrived just beforehand (and we’d had to go up to the bar to request a third time). We were given a jug of water and two glasses between 5 of us, which at that point just summed up perfectly what the service had been like the whole evening. The service was incredibly slow throughout the evening despite the restaurant was not busy at all. Items were missed off when our food arrived. Extremely unfriendly staff with the exception of one waiter who dealt with our bill request at the end when we asked for a missing item to be removed. We were dining with the 50% off Eat Out to Help Out offer, but it seems that this restaurant has taken this to mean a reduction in food quality and service. Have had Yak and Yeti before for takeaway but this was the first time dining in - will not be going back for either after this experience.

Ordered takeaway to collect for family birthday celebration for 8 people. Was ready at time I had asked. Very kindly gave a few extra poppadums and bottle of beer for birthday boy. Food was delicious. Would thoroughly recommend

Greaat takeout arrived in 40 mins which is good for a Friday night in london We had Lamb Xiacuti which was rich and spicy and not oily at all, and saag aloo also delicious. The tandoori chicken was moist and had an authentic smoky tandooried flavour..

Really disappointing delivery, with very stale poppadums and a daal makhani that felt like it had been thrown together in 5 minutes. I complained via Deliveroo and those items were refunded straight away, which was good. However, it would also have been nice if the restaurant had got in touch to offer some explanation.

Yak and Yeti is one of MANY local restaurants offering Indian and Napalese cuisine. I have eaten in the restaurant before. It's not normally exceptionally busy or full of personality I'm afraid, so I normally take advantage of the take away service and the 15% collection discount. Compared to others in the area (which have been tried and tested) this is the best around. Lots of south Indian influences and not you're traditional oily/ghee filled curries. If you want a dirty curry this may not be your place as the food is much fresher and not dripping in oil. The biriyani has fresh herbs and a bit of cheeky paneer which is a delight. If you get a variety of curries elsewhere often they all taste similar but not at yak and yeti. The garlic naan is also the best around. The only disappointment is the onion bajis . They used to be quite good but recently gone down in quality and size. Highly recommend.

On the evening of 15th January 2020 I treated my sons to a meal as the older one was 33. Both boys live at Crystal Palace and have eaten here a few times in the past year.They booked a corner table and we had a most enjoyable, memorable three hours together over delicious food, served by charming waiters in comfortable, warm and quiet surroundings. We shall return in the not- too- distant future. Thank you staff for giving us such a lovely time. .

Very average restaurant. Was expecting a lot more, being Nepalese. I wanted better flavours and different taste than usual Indian curry. Was OK but nothing special at all. Waiters and service was touch and go and far from great. Definitely not on my top list. Won’t go back.

I have experienced a takeaway from this restaurant on 2 occasions. The fish curry is divine! This is the BEST curry I have had in a long time.

Food delivery was late, there were missing items and the food was disgusting - even the poppadoms were stale. I called to complain, they wouldn't even fix the fact that they missed items off my order.With so many other good Indian restaurants around, do not go to Yak and Yeti

Yak & Yeti have always been a bit slow to deliver but the food was usually worth the wait so we decided to give them another chance and I'll say this: never again!Pre-ordered through the usual app to arrive at 8.30pm, order accepted, food being prepared all fine. Then, the expected arrival time starts ticking up; 8.35, 8.45, 8.55, 9.10, 9.20 and so on. We can see from the app that 3 different drivers had been assigned to the order and then disappeared...had they turned up to find the food not ready, we don't know?Eventually at 9.40 we decide enough is enough, it's nearly bedtime so we have to cancel using live chat through the delivery app. Thankfully we get a full refund!A Friday night dinner ruined, pre-ordered well in advance but no sign of any food for hours. We're not ordering from Yak & Yeti ever again.

My husband and I recently eat at the Yak & Yeti and never again!!!!!I ordered the momo dumplings straight away knowing they take a while and so that our starters would arrive at the same time sadly this didn’t work out as planned after sharing mine while waiting for my husbands starter which was forgotten at the same time fighting off the flies.There was only one other person in the restaurant so not busy but the staff were more interested in answering the phone for take aways and Uber eats.The food that came was very average! we left feeling very disappointed and vowed never to go back!!!!

There are a lot of Indian restaurants. And to be honest, I think a lot of them are pretty average. The British palate has a monolithic sense of what an Indian meal will be. So when you get something like Yak & Yeti, it’s really important to say how good it is. Authentic taste. Great service.

Mi amigo y yo visitamos este restaurante el 3. 8) 19) Pedí Chicken Tikka Masala y no me decepcionó. Es el mejor plato de Masala que he probado en mucho tiempo. El tamaño de la porción fue más que suficiente. El ajo Naan y arroz con champiñones era muy sabroso. El servicio fue eficiente y el personal era encantador.

Fue el día más caluroso del año, nada menos, y íbamos a cancelar por eso, pero nos alegramos de haber cambiado de opinión y de mantener la reserva. Tuvimos una noche sensacional con comida increíble, fuera de este mundo. Pedimos muchos platos, principalmente vegetarianos, para compartir entre nosotros y tengo que decir que fue la comida más deliciosa que he probado en mucho tiempo. Los sabores eran simplemente divinos y todavía puedo sentirlos haciendo que cada célula de mi cuerpo vibre al día siguiente. Excelente calidad, sabores de primera clase, muy buena relación calidad-precio, y el servicio fue amable y eficiente. Una gran noche! Para ser honestos, no podemos esperar a nuestra próxima visita, ya que estamos aquí sentados, ¡y solo estamos pensando en ello! Altamente recomendado.

Absolutely could not fault the food, faveroursome, great food and they catered to my needs..chef went out of his way to make something i wanted. I'm partner also really enjoyed his food. Great experience, great taste and great service. 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Paid a visit here on Monday night, service was ok but I had shashlik and it was finish, done in a red powder and just tasted shocking, won’t be going back, but as I say the staff were friendly hence the two stars

We were staying in the Crystal Palace area without transport, so wanted to eat locally. Yak and Yeti wasn't our first choice but it was close, and almost empty. I ordered lamb tikka, which was pleasant, my husband ordered the mixed grill. He loved the prawn, but found everything else dry and far too spicy. One glass of wine each. Okay, but really, nothing to write home about.

My partner and I had our one year anniversary yesterday. We plan on going to India and Nepal in the next couple of months for six months, so I thought to myself maybe somewhere Indian or Nepalese would be a nice way to celebrate. I found Yak and Yeti, it has to be one of the tastiest examples of Indian and Nepali food I have ever had! We had a few things to share and there was more than enough food, the problem was faced with was having to stop! I will definitely be back.

Will not return. Restaurant could not cope with being less than half full. Our reservation was at 7 and we didn’t get out of there until 9.45. Restaurant staff knew they were short-staffed from the start but continued to accept more diners and takeaways and did not warn or apologise until we kicked up a fuss.

All elements of the meal we ordered online were tasty and the vegetables were fresh. My partner enjoyed a flavoursome Lamb Rogan Josh and the peshwari naan was lovely.

Came here as part of a group. I actually really enjoyed the food I had, but the service was not great. However, I am willing to accept that this may have been related to being part of a big group and I would happily come back and give it another go as a family or couple meal. It might be helpful when catering for larger parties to ensure that staffing is sufficient as service was slow.

I ordered the butter chicken, aloo tikki chat, roti and steamed rice. The aloo tikki chat was over fryed, the chicken was dry, there was a foreign object in my curry and the curry wasn't very tasty. The only reason it isn't 1 star is that it was still edible, but I won't be ordering from this place again.

Visiting Crystal Palace and found this gem . Never had Nepalese food before and staff were more than helpful to tell us what the food was. Food was excellent and hot . On visiting Crystal Palace we visted and ate here twice . Both times had diferent food , but both times excellent . Staff were friendly and informative . Received excellent service, excellent food and , if we are in that area again , it is certainly a place we will visit again .

We have been to the yak and yeti in Crystal Palace for a dinner on Friday night, it was kind of steady not much occupied. We had a warm welcome with Nepalese beer on arrival. We ordered onion Bhaji, scallops , and 2 lamb chops as our starters. They were all yammy and mouth watering and so do our mains. Staffs are polite and very much helpful on advising you to choose food according to your flavour. Overall you made our family visit wonderful. Well done yeti team. We definitely back again.

I have never had such awful onion bahji’s before - EVER! Fried flour with a bit of Onion running through it! The poppadom was tasteless and the dips were just hideous! Bright orange mango chutney but not even a tiny chunk of mango in sight! Chutney is SO easy to make! How can a restaurant justify not making their own?!!!! It looked and tasted like bright orange sugar gel - absolutely disgusting! The mint dip was a pale green watery liquid and the onion chutney was just raw onion and a few bits of chopped carrot! Lazy cooking! Really lazy! I wish we had stuck to our locals! Our chicken curry dish was full of raw onion and nothing else! Really disappointed, will never return!

Been a regular at this restaurant for about five years and have always enjoyed it enough to return. In the past any complaints have been speedily answered/remedied which was reassuring. Very dissatisfied with the food/service we experienced on our last visit. Still waiting for a response from the restaurant as to what went wrong. An expensive mistake!!!

We eat here fairly often and have found the meals to be consistently full of flavour, and varied (we always order different meals from each other), with fresh herbs and spices. There are a couple of off reviews in the mix here, and that has never been our experience, so maybe we have always been lucky but I doubt that.

Ordered a take away. A little on the expensive side compared to others locally but the reviews were really good so thought it would be worth it. OMG it was terrible and most of it went in the bin. It was inedible. We ordered chicken tikka masala, chicken korma and butter chicken and to be honest they all tasted pretty much the same. Very VERY bland with an underlying taste of tomato soup. Definitely no spices in there at all. Absolutely awful and none of us ate more than a few mouthfuls.

Went there for dinner with my family last night. The aloo tikki chat was excellent. The chicken tikka masala sauce was excellent as were the Bombay aloo, chana marsala and bhindi. The only slight weakness is the limited range of desserts available.

Overpriced for very below average indian food, pickles supplied with the pickle try were like baby food.. Most of curries seemed to be the same for differing dishes and the service was ridiculously slow for a quiet night.

We have been eating from Yak and Yeti for a long time and ordinarily the food is excellent, however this time it was extremely poor - one of our curry dishes was far too salty and the poppadoms were soft and bendy rather than crispy.

Genuinely the best curry I've ever eaten. Good choice of vegetarian options and tasted really fresh. Will order again. Only downside is that there is no option to order drinks.

Para llevar buena - unos 35 minutos de hacer el pedido hasta la entrega, aunque viven bastante cerca. Comida sabrosa, conseguimos lo que pedimos, y una buena relación calidad-precio su A Tarka Daal y Paneer Tikka están especialmente deliciosa!
