This was without doubts the worst, not only Thai restaurant, but any restaurant I've ever eaten in my entire life. In fact this establishment should be ashamed to call themselves a thai restaurant, or just a restaurant. The sweet and sour chicken was a wonder to behold. I have never eaten chicken, so dry covered in what only I can explain was a medley of fruit and vegetables that they must have found at the bottom of their fridge. Litchi x2 pineapple x2, red and green pepper, but the one that threw me was whole white grapes x2 thrown in there. It was like eating a fruit cocktail with bits of overcooked chicken in some kind of sauce, that I don't know how at this time know to describe. The green curry was over salted and what ever went wrong in the process of cooking, the sauce split and separated. Any normal restaurant would have started the dish again. But oh not this place. Let's serve it anyway to the customer. The king prawn padthai was unedible but worse of all not only 3 tough overcooked prawns within this diabolical mess, but they had thrown in tofu to possibly give the impression that there's more prawns in the dish than there is. They were saturated in fat and were unedible. Unfortunately, this was not the end of our culinary nightmare. We had two portions of calamari. Again overcooked so much so that we couldn't actually chew them to eat them. They would have worked better as hairbands. I must just add, this was a take away, because if I had actually eaten in the establishment, I would have walked out half way through without paying. And the price for this inedible food? £56. To be honest I was going to ask for a full refund and not right this review. But I honestly feel that the people of Tonbridge and the surrounding areas should be given some kind of warning regarding visiting this so called restaurant or certainly getting a take away from there. The only saving grace is, that the bag the food came in was strong enough to put all the inedible food back in, so as to throw into the dustbin.

The food is always beautiful and I highly recommend it - love this place. Best Thai restaurant is Teesside by far. In terms of the amount of chicken or beef you get in your order I'd they could be more generous. We've had takeaways before and there have literally been a few slices of beef or chicken in the takeaway container. However, I will always come back because the flavours are unreal and staff lovely.

My daughter and son-in-law took me to the Golden Elephant as a Mother's day treat. They know it is my favourite restaurant in the area. I was not disappointed. Joe (the owner) was very welcoming and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and atmosphere were excellent. I can thoroughly recommend it.

I absolutely love this place. I often go with my two boys and it is such a great experience for us. If you go during a summer evening it is perfect to sit outside especially with the lovely cooking aroma's and the friendly staff! The owner is a really great guy - very accommodating and adds to the quality of the restaurant.

Came here a few weeks back with my husband. We were seated promptly and the starts came out hot and very tasty. We had Gyozas. The mains were a different story. My husband's food came out way before mine did so i was waiting as it was. When mine eventually did come out the curry that i had ordered had rock hard undercooked sweet potatoes in it. Considering it was a fish curry i was concerned about what else was undercooked. The issue was immediately brought to the attention of the manager who did his best to rectify the situation for us. Instead i ordered another fail safe dish. This came out ok but only after another 20 minutes and i felt rushed eating this infront of my bored husband who had finished eating about 40 mins prior. The bill was partially comped for us as a result of the issues. But still came to about £40. Quite overpriced i must add.

My family went here for my mums birthday and in terms of taste, this is the nicest curry in Bishops Stortford. HANDS DOWN! Chicken tikka masala, the English staple, was absolutely faultless. So tasty. Onion bhaaji, garlic naan, and garlic and onion rice were absolutely outstanding. The food was genuinely incredible, making this review a 5/5. The meal was more expensive than alternatives in Stortford, but I genuinely think the quality is worth it. But don’t drink in there, pints are £7 and even soft drinks are £5. I will say, the restaurant knew it was my mums birthday and didn’t do anything extra or special, which surprised us. And there was only one waiter in the entire restaurant. It’s not a huge place, but at one point there were about 10 tables filled, so service was slow at times, but the guy was trying his best! Overall, a brilliant meal and a restaurant we will 100% be returning to.

Servicio siempre brillante y personal amable.
