Shere Khan Express Takeaway in St. Helens

Ordered at 6pm for a 7pm delivery. Phoned at 7.25 to see where my otder was to be toldd they are very busy but my order was on its way and put the phone down. Finally arrived at 7.45 food was look warm and the nan bread cold this went straight in the bin won't be ordering again

One of the food choice was the mixed kebab for 4 people to share, it was very much ordinary n thankfully not much of it, in the meal for 4 was just one shish kebab how do we share that, the rice was dry, the chicken chat was cold n gloopy, nah would only say the poppadoms n pickle dips were okay, but ive had much fresher hotter n better poppadoms,it's no wonder it's not to be mistaken or related with the takeaway next door, I believe theirs is a much better example of good food from an Indian kitchen. I don't know why I let people talk me into eating indian food anywhere different to Mr St Helens, the best Curry House again !!

Best bunch of guys EVER and the best currys around for miles and miles and thats comming from some one who has lived and worked in INDIA and grew up on the CURRY MILE MANCHESTER i know my curries.

Tried first time the rest of food was bit satisfactory but their burger was so tasteless and dry using frozen tasteless patties with no sauces and a-lot of salad like they are not getting paid for it. Not recommended at all 👎

Chicken jalfezi was more like a vindaloo,always order the set meal for 2 and never had a problem, 😕

Rang to order special offer take away which included 2 curries - 1 from tradional & 1 from House special. Ordered butter chicken (from House special) to be told that was extra! Pointed out that no where does this show this, was again told its extra and was laughed at!!! Told then to forget it. Put post on FB to advise others and they then said I was abusive & rude - maybe because I was laughed at when I pointed out their error!!!

Always busy .. speedy service .. excellent food .. we really like almost everything they make for us .. we would order again and again! Friendly staff .. everyone of them.

Ordered at 5.20pm on the app for request for 7.30pm phoned up at 7.50pm to ask where my food was the person on the phone wasnt very professional and said its on its way we're busy and put the phone down on me, they then rang back 5 minutes later to try and tell me i only ordered at 7.20pm. The food finally turned up at 8.15pm with one of the shop staff bringing it not one of the driver and just said sorry there was a mix up. I understand its fathers day and england game was on but if you order food over 2hrs in advance and ask for a request time you expect it to come at that time.

King kebab is a must 👌 but all the food is really nice staff very friendly 👌

The restaurant is not accommodating for large groups. The food was excellent, and the service was satisfactory during the meal, although the main courses took a bit too long to arrive. The issue arose when it was time to pay the bill. Despite informing the staff beforehand that our group of 15 would be paying separately, the manager insisted on providing a single bill for us to sort out amongst ourselves. This is challenging when some are paying by card, and it's not practical to expect customers to carry change. The correct approach would have been to allow each person to pay for their own order. Although they eventually permitted this, the hassle significantly detracted from the overall experience. It seems the staff are not focused on customer support. I recall a similar situation last year when an additional fee was charged for card payments. I had hoped for an improved experience this year, but it appears a different choice will be necessary in the future.

This is one of my worst visited restaurant in st. Helen’s. We went into the restaurant it was freaking freezing.one man threw the menu on the table. The man who was taking our order was very rude and impolite. He was treating us as if we have come here for free food. He was serving hate on the table. We didn’t had anything and just left. We promised ourselves we ll never ever come back here again. It was a very bad experience.

Got a takeaway chefs magic worst curry I've ever had, hardly any meat and what I got was very tough no peppers or onion all sauce never again

Very cheap cut of Donner meat. So much GRIT in there felt like I was chewing rocks The chicken wasn't too bad But the red sauce and spices are definitely just to cover up the cheap meat

Took nearly 2 hours to arrive, the poppadoms were stale, chicken chat was cold and burnt, onion bhaji were hard and burnt, curry was horrible, lamb bhuna wasn't even lamb - can't even decipher what meat it was supposed to be, naan bread was mouldy. This is the first time I have ordered from here and its certainly the last time. I would not recommend this place to anyone

Food was overdone and clearly left for a while food was horrible Nan bread was mouldy and meat in the curry was dry and unable to eat loads left over refused a refund or help just told was going send the food same as what we got not pleased with the service and was told I was kicking off on the phone when I only explained I was not happy with what I received

Food arrived eventually nearly 2 hours after ordering. The poppadoms were soft like they were stale, the chicken chat was burnt, the onion bhaji were dry and burnt. The curry was ill tasting, all food was cold. The whole order has gone to waste and hasn't been eaten. Wont be ordering from here again and I won't recommend anyone visit or eat from here.

3rd time order notes have not been read which ruins the whole meal as I'm allergic to the item I asked you to leave out as stated in the email confirmation I received. This time the lamb had big fatty arteries in it about 5 pieces of fatty chicken. I've not rung up because the owners and staff speak to customers like they are dirt. We only ever use this one on a Tuesday when the good one next door is shut the lamb is tender and high quality next door and the flavours are delicious and not just burnt meat

I know I’m only one person and this business is lucky enough to have a lot of customers but I’m shocked at the response I got within minutes of trying my meal. I’ve rang immediately after trying my food and had the worst customer service ever from a place I’d loved. I was told they don’t do refunds because people try it on. I understand the problem but that doesn’t help me and my genuine complaint. The meat was totally dried out. So salty it was even more inedible. The person I spoke to said they’d sort it out next time. Well that’s not happening. I’m on a limited budget and this was a treat. Totally gutted I’ve wasted my money and been brushed off like this.

First time ordering but never again. Lamb in the madras was fatty, grisly and chewy and not just one piece it was all of it. Chicken in the other curry wasn't great either so sorry but won't waste another £30 giving it another chance.

Fantastic food with very reasonable prices. Have stopped going to our regular takeaway in Rainhill as prices there are scandalous. Love this place@

Got a leaflet through the door..hot weather so ordered it was..I got the £18.95 for 2 people and OMG it was super delicious..last time I had a curry this good was in a restaurant in Croydon.. poppadoms were so fresh too..my new Indian takeaway..Thank you.

Ordered from here a number of times. Staff are nice! Food is always lovely and even though I live 20 mins away, food is still hot by the time I get home! Would definitely recommend.

Had meal delivered on new year's eve best Indian food I have ever tasted

This is a long term review from over about 10 takeaways, all good to excellent. We have ordered a variety of curries, tandoori dishes, starters, breads and rice. I can honestly say not once has any thing been poor. Chicken, lamb or prawn, you get a good portion and the same goes for rices and breads. I like a hot curry and the chicken tikka vindaloo is very good here. I would recommend this place to anyone. Also, there is often a complimentary portion of good onion bhajis in for good measure. To end my review, will all those who moan about cold food get off your back sides and pick it up. Takeaways do not send out cold food.

Great Biryhday night had by all

The food was gorgeous but we had a waiter who shouted at our table , telling us to put away the retirement party cards and get ordering. He came back with the cutlery and threw it down on the table for us to dish out . Like I said , lovely food but we won't be going back.

Best curry I've ever had. They also give discount for Blue Light card holders. Won't be going back to Garlic Spice anytime soon! Highly recommended.

what can I say the food is the best ever and the staff are polite friendly if I could bring them home I would but my wife won't let me only because there's no room ..well worth the 25miles round trip ......ARNIE MORGAN the older but good looking one ......right here I am again is it 5 years on 2022...well what can I say ... well, if I moved to India I would travel to this fantastic takeaway believe me, its clean ,,the staff are out of this world, the prices are so reasonable, considering the top chef's and fantastic staff who are so cheerful and helpful and give their best in service, the food is the best in the country or even the world and that is true !!!! I still travel 25mile trip cause their the best ... and I would still let them live here if my wife would allow it... love them all along with the fantastic food .... I'm still MORGAN But alot older but still good looking ..... I think ??

Probably best Indian takeaway in town. Bear in mind that I'm not an Indian cousine fan (usually too spicy for me) we chose mild dishes Inthis place and they are absolutely beautiful. Rich flavours, great variety, not drowning in oil. And very reasonably priced too!

The chefs special is hands down the best Indian I’ve ever tried. The spices are rich and deep in flavour with the meat succulent. Unfortunately, I’m only here for a few days. Would love to have this restaurant as my local takeaway.

Always a good curry, the king kebab is massive!!!

Iv used Shere Khan quite alot but my order has been wrong 3 times on the last few visits despite stating clearly what my order was.I specifically asked for them to get my order correct. Salad and mint sauces not put in with my order.(it's infuriating).On ringing them up their reply was "oh sorry,we'll put extra in next time".That just isn't good enough and the fact they can't get the order correct lowers the standards of the outlet.This may not matter to them but they need to know that getting customers orders right is very important.My last order was 30.6.22. That time i got 5 sauces but a salad short (i ordered 3 mint sauces and 2 salads for the two starters)but on other occasions iv had no salad and no sauces.I can't knock their food, food is very good and 5 stars for that,i give 3 stars because of their lack of attention to detail in getting the my orders right.It's just not good enough when i'm paying good money,for myself or any other customer.Like i said,it's 3 times it"s happened to me and it's put me off using them again because their food is lovely.I rang Shere Khan and told them how i felt and wasn't happy and said i may not use them again.His reply, "ok no worries".They clearly not bothered. Has anyone else had similar problems ?

Got food from here on way home from work most weekends & always been ok up to the last few weeks, I've noticed a change in food quality & most of the menu has now added spice, you get less meat & a container full of sauce, why the need to change I don't know & tonight was disgusting, parts of the main meal turned up cold & other was piping hot but like it was days old & just been reheated, chicken was like rubber inedible, rice hard, after 2 fork fulls the lot went in the bin, total waste of money, will not be going again, do not recommend gone downhill massively, doesn't even deserve one star but won't let u give zero

We've ordered from here many times before most times we've collected & odd times had meals delivered, tonight we had it delivered the rice was cold & watery, the chicken tikka masala was steaming hot but dry & rubbery as though been warmed in microwave & either over cooked or remains of day before, recipe has been changed so now far to spicy, the naan bread was ment be garlic naan & was tasteless, onion bhaji dripping in grease & week old salad pot, not at all happy with the food, seems like once you've order from them a few times they stop bothering with attention to detail in the food, WILL NOT BE WASTING OUR MONEY HERE AGAIN 0 RATING

Biggest and best kebab I've had in town. It's a proper challenge to finish their King Kebab, it weighs over 1kg only the meat!!

First time here, and tried a dish I'd never had before anywhere. Tasty enough, though could have been a tad hotter, spice wise, but I think that changes between different places anyway. Will return for more!

Disappointed. Was expecting better really but delivery arrived cold (although at the time estimated) and the lamb tikka was so tough and fatty it was inedible. Shame as I had high hopes. Maybe just a poor choice from the menu but probably won't order again.

Ordered a family birthday meal , most of the food was ok but the vegetable korma turned out to be loaded with copious amounts of lamb!! Issue being it was for my partner who is a vegetarian. Contacted the manager and he laughed down the phone when I explained that offering £6 refund for a meal is diabolical . It would cost me that in petrol for the 40 mins round trip to get a refund . He arrogantly said they have been in business 21 years and people will still keep coming back no matter what complaints he gets. He said mistakes happen which they do . But his idea of dealing with it was offering a £6 refund that has ruined a family meal is moronic. My partner actually ate part of the meat that was in the meal and when she realised what she was eating she ran to the toilet being sick. If your considering eating here don’t bother , the manager thinks you will still keep coming back no matter what rubbish they serve . Let’s show him who the real idiot is . Avoid ! .

Ordered at 5pm xmas eve, expected a long wait. Wasnt bothered about the 90 mins delivery time. Food came and was awful, poppadoms were stale and chewy. Chicken TIKKA pathia was ridiculously spicy, couldnt eat it. (Usually always get this curry from here but tonight it was inedible). The naan breads were chewy. Keema naan was just tomato paste spread on the inside, no meat. Will not order from here again and I've used this place for years. It's all in the bin and we are still all hungry.

Our first takeaway here, but a lovely meal and we'll be back. I only scored 4⭐ instead of 5⭐ simply because one or two chunks of my lamb were a little tougher than the rest and I expected them to be slow-cooked, so softer. But we'll be getting dinner here again tomorrow. 👌😁 Ps. That's one busy / well-oiled machine of a kitchen! 🥳

We were recommended Shere Khan by friends and went for the first time, and we had a set meal for two. It was excellent the whole meal was delicious, we will definitely be using there service again and would highly recommend them. Well done the team at Shere Khan, I’ve also got some left for my dinner tomorrow 👍

Had it delivered. Came on time and though they did leave a kebab out they were very apologetic and sent extra food with second delivery to say sorry. Mixed kebab was delicious, huge, and the chips are chip shop quality. All in all very satisfied

The food took an hour to arrive and when it did the food was freezing cold. The sauces had spilt over the kebabs and the order was wrong & part was missing. Upon contacting the shop the staff were rude and insinuated that I was a liar & the one that got the order wrong. £18 wasted and I will never use again despite enjoying food from the shop previously.

Ordered two kebabs , we waited well over an hour, one was wrong , both were cold. Our order had sauce all over which had tipped in the bag and our cans of diet coke were missing ( despite paying for them. When we asked for this to be rectified, we were given abuse on the phone and promised that we would have a new order ... however it didn’t arrive! AVOID

About our 5th delivery within 2 weeks from Shere Khan St Helens and can't fault the quality of the food or service. Fabulous! Lovely thoughtful touch for Valentine's as our order came with a beautiful single rose 🌹. Thank you! We're going to be working our way through your menu...😁🥰
