The lunch we had at Cradle was nearly sublime. Reassuringly one choice only re starter and main. The Carrot & Apple soup was rich and deeply good; the accompanying bread and pickled salad a wonderful treat. Then later, as utterly made to order, the main. So many ingredients harmonising and nourishing …Franky, best lunch in memory

Firstly. I have had several lunches here all of superb quality at an exceptionally good price. This visit I had a burger and chips which was amongst the best available in Basingstoke at a very competitive price, it couldn't have been improved on, see the photos. Secondly, the fact that this is a wonderful charity for training individuals with learning disabilities. Most of the staff are in training, gaining priceless skills and confidence, though this is barely noticeable, indeed some customers I got chatting to were completely unaware of the ethos behind the cafe. In summary amazing food, great service and by visiting you will be supporting an amazing charity. It is a lovely social cafe, providing, food, a meeting place, and training. On top of all this It is also. Dog friendly.

After a long walk we arrived just before closing. We asked if they were still serving coffee and they welcomed us in. Very friendly staff. Lovely cafe. Scones delicious. Would definitely go back

My husband and I had two amazing vegan roast dinners (the best we've ever had in our 8+ years of being vegan), followed by delicious desserts. The portions were generous, decor cosy, staff super friendly and our dog was very welcome too. Couldn't recommend more and just wish we didn't live so far away (just a holiday stop), otherwise we'd be back all the time!

Such a disappointing experience. Very expensive (£11 for soup and one slice of bread which didn't come with any butter) and even more money for a "hotpot" which was saag aloo. The saag also was basically overcooked potato, which was absolutely tasteless with hardly any spinach and, again, a small slice of bread with no butter (many vegan butters could have been provided!).
