Pear Kitchen in The Vale of Glamorgan

Absolutely blown away by the food and drink. Lovely atmosphere and friendly service. I'm not vegan but this had to have been one of the best lunches I've ever had. Will definitely be returning with more friends.

Haven't reviewed in a while, but thought it was time to update my thoughts on Pear Kitchen. Very little has changed, it's still excellent in every respect, excellent food, very reasonable priced and ethical in every way. Even if you eat meat, give this place a try I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Oh and to add, every dish is extremely healthy and teaming with a good quality mix of vegetables.

Amazing find!! We had the Buddha plate and it was stunning, particularly the braised spinach!! I would absolutely recommend! Very friendly, reasonably priced and lovely calm atmosphere 🥰

Lunchtime visit yesterday with my daughter. We were rushed due to work constraints but we both enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal.

Visited here twice and would highly recommend. Excellent menu and great portion sizes. The food is fresh and great variety. The sitting area is well spaced out for people with pushchairs/wheelchairs.

Awesome food, all fresh ingredients and lovingly prepared by a passionate chef :) Some amazing Asian fusion specials! Wether your vegan or not this place is a must visit!

Visited at lunchtime today with my partner and we both had an absolutely delicious meal. Fantastic food and service. The vegan milkshakes were incredible. We are looking forward to visiting again soon.

Had a sandwich which contained peanut butter and banana together which was so tasty. Friendly staff and food very nice. Will definitely come back

We visited for lunch and it was a really fantastic experience. The cafe was spacious and airy which was great for our little family with a chunky pram and lots of bags! The service was friendly and prompt, and the facilities to change our little one were clean. But obviously what we came for was the food and drink and it was just wonderful! We had a smoothie and a milkshake which were delicious and fresh, my partner had the chilli jackfruit wrap and I had pancakes - both were as good as any vegan food we’ve had. Everything was so reasonably priced too. We can’t wait to come back!

Picked up a takeaway of the Pear House Salad which was absolutely delicious. Packed full of flavours, roasted sweet potatoes, tofu, avocado, gorgeous dressing! Tasty and virtuous!

Forget the issue of veganism for a minute, this little place produces high quality and healthy food regardless of your choice of dietary requirement. An excellent choice, substantial portions coupled with an ecclectic mix of high quality produce. Try it once and it will soon become your regular.

After lots of hints being thrown regarding what do do with the family for my husbands birthday. Afternoon tea was decided up..... While chatting to Christine in Forage about where to go, she suggested Pear Kitchen.... I didn't realise afternoon tea take out was available..... Sam came to my rescue, even though he was pulled out busy, he still made the most incredible afternoon tea for this afternoon. Saturday 8th May. My husband was really thrilled and we managed to catch up with our grandsons in 'Virtual Tea". Due to very busy work loads, getting something organised for Monday was out of the question. Sam, Thank You! Everything was so tasty, sandwiches very moreish, cakes so light they could have floated away if we had let go of them..... I have popped in for coffee or tea, but you know what? I really look forward to the kitchen opening properly.

Amazing food, even if you aren't Vegan, it's delicious. Warm, friendly welcome. They also make amazing Cakes. I ordered a Rose and Chocolate one for my son, it's gorgeous. Definitely 5 Star rating. Definitely worth a visit.

Just found this lovely local cafe (take away at the moment). Our weekend treat. Great variety/choice.

Use this cafe at least twice a week and always thoroughly enjoy the meals. Always a good and varied choice of healthy vegan options, all made to order. They also regularly change their 'specials' and good variety of vegan cakes.

The food is always so amazing, will be going back to try everything in the menu. The specials are always interesting and tasty, love the cakes and hot drinks especially the beetroot latte! Great place to visit if you have a little one too as the kids menu is just as good as the adult as really reasonably priced.

Fantastic lunch sweet potato wrap beautifully prepared whilst I waited by professional friendly staff took it home and yummy I will return it was lush

I'm not vegetarian or vegan but I was advised by a friend to try a tofu shwarma wrap. It's a variation to the tofu burger that's on the menu. It had a nice small salad with it...it was very tasty, nice and spicy and a perfect size for lunch. I will certainly be back!!!

Pear kitchen continues to produce fantastic vegan produce. It's creative, innovative and absolutely gorgeous and all at a most reasonable price. The menu varies weekly so there is something for everyone. Give the weekly Hoggie a try you won't be disappointed!

Due to COVID we were only able to get takeaway; we chose sesame noodles and kale caesar salad. Both were absolutely delicious and generous portions. We'd absolutely recommend this place :)

Totally unique and delicious vegan food! My parents who aren't vegan thought it was really tasty. Highly recommend!

Been here several times over the last few months to eat in and take food away. Still as excellent as ever, lovely ,tasty, colourful food, which is not only vegan but healthy and reasonably priced. The choice is eclectic and ordering is simple. Service excellent and atmosphere is really friendly and welcoming. Forget the vegan / veg thing, give this place a try on the quality of the food alone, you will not be disappointed......

Stunning food and cake, reasonable prices and 100% Vegan to boot :) I had the quiche and my partner had the scrambled tofu. Both were presented beautifully and tasted equally as scrumptious. Top-notch service and the honeycomb/chocolate cake was just TOO good!!

A lovely little place serving unexpectedly great food. The sweet potato wrap was delicious, all the cakes and biscuits are baked to perfection, hard to imagine vegan food could taste so good. Highly recommended

Another glorious meal on a very very wet Cowbridge afternoon. Fantastic Kimchi and vegan cheese toastie, with accompanying salad, washed down with a Turmeric Latte and followed by a slice of vegan chocolate cake. Including my partner's Buddha Bowl and black coffee, the meal totalled £20.......great value! As I've said previously, even if you're not a vegetarian or vegan, get down to this place as the food is exquisite.

What a great find! A lovely place on the main Cowbridge road. The choices for lunch were excellent. Such a change to be able to choose from a variety of dishes. All the food is freshly prepared and well presented. Imaginative ingredients.Well worth trying. They do take outs too.

We've been here several times now. Always a really good experience, lovely people turning out exceptional food at very very good prices. Everything is fresh, healthy and served in a creative way. Forget about the fact its a vegan eatery, its top notch cooking whichever way you look ar it!

We have been a few times now with the children and the food is lovely. We have three small children and have been made to feel welcome with them in tow. Pancakes are my favourite. Lots of nice options.

This place could do with cosying up a bit inside...but don't let if put you off the lunch was fab, staff super friendly and the sourdough bread exceptional; plan stocking my freezer!

Visited this restaurant yesterday with my sister and daughter. My daughter is Vegan. My daughter had the Pear kitchen sandwich, my sister and myself had Buddha plate. It was one of the tastiest meals I have ever had. Only problem was that it was not filling. Would have benefitted from some bread on the side.

We visit this gorgeous Vegan Restaurant as often as possible, the food is absolutely delicious. The cakes are sublime, especially the Coffee Cake! Highly recommend.

Visited Friday. My partner and I had the toasted vegan cheese and Kimchi sandwhich accompanied by a Buddha Bowl to share, which included various pickles and seaweed....... Excellent! I also tried the Turmeric Latte, which was exquisite. A truly excellent place to visit if your both a food connoisseur and have a conscience when it comes to eating ethically.

What an amazing meal.We started the day with a smoothie bowl and a scrambled tofu on toast. Both of which were fantastic, the smoothie bowl was one of the nicest breakfasts I have had. To follow that we had the quiche and pancakes to finish. Again both were perfect and the pancakes were astonishing.We decided that after that we would take a great selection of cakes and deserts home.One of the best meals I have had and I highly recommend this to anyone in the area or not. Well worth the trip from anywhere.Mind blowing food.

Have started coming to the Pear Kitchen whenever we visit Cowbridge. very high quality of food & service. I particularly like the 'specials' of the day board & enjoy the freshness & variety of textures of the food on offer. very tasty too. Lovely friendly service, always with a smile.

The Pear kitchen is a wonderful cafe. Amazing food, even if you’re not Vegan. My husband eats meat and my daughter is Vegan. We called in for lunch and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his beetroot and vegan cheese panini. We also asked if they would make a Vegan birthday cake for our daughter. It tasted absolutely wonderful. I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone, Vegan, dairy intolerant or just fancy a healthy snack/lunch. The staff are so friendly. We love it there. X❤️

Decided to pop in on our way to an outing with the children during half term.I am not a Vegan. All I can say is that the food was all presented lovely.The food tasted excellent. There were some interesting combinations that I would never normally eat but there were all lovely.My Kids ate all there food and they never eat everything.highly recommended.Club Sandwich.Spicy Kimichi sandwich.Kids had pancakes.

As there aren’t many vegan cafes around we had to try it out, I just had a cup of tea, my wife had the asparagus quiche which was amazing, the staff are very friendly & helpful, this place is a little gem, I would highly recommend this place.

My partner and I visited Pear Kitchen for early morning food. We both (once again) had the exquisite and filling Vegan cheese and Kimchi toasted sandwhich with accompanying "bespoke" house salad. This was rounded off with a fantastic Chi Tea and delicious chocolate cake (which you wouldnt guess was vegan). We cant praise this little place enough for its food, quality, price, service and kindess!

First visit today. Have been meaning to visit but don’t seem to go into Cowbridge as much these days. Went for lunch and was not disappointed! I had the noodles with sesame & vegetables & my husband had the sweet potato wrap. Really tasty, well presented & plentiful. Will be back! Well worth a visit!

This was my third visit. My birthday today and met up with friends and family to celebrate. Food excellent with some interesting specials . Tried beetroot latte- lovely and something I would never make myself. Pear kitchen has supplied birthday cakes for my birthday and my sister’s as well since they opened- fantastic. I am not vegan but will definitely eat here again. Great to see a locally owned individual cafe - a welcome change from the usual chains .

Regardless that this is a vegan cafe the food is excellent. The venue is spotlessly clean and is run by a very nice family who obviously take a lot of pride in the food that they serve. Whether you are vegan or not you would not be disappointed as good food is good food!The kimchi and cheese toastie and the sweet potato wraps are amazing as a takeout sandwich :)Give this place a try!

Ive visited this place a few more more times and have to say the quality of the food is second to none. Takes a high degree of bravery to set up what is an ethical eatery in an area known for its meat and fish establishments. Every dish tasted has been first class, fresh, tasty and wholesome. Will certainly return. Good prices to.

Visited Pear Kitchen with family and friends just after it opened.Lovely place. Good choice of food all really well presented. Good value for money. The owner was very happy to talk about the food and clearly very enthusiastic .We took cakes away with us as we were too full from lunch! I would defy anyone to find a difference in the chocolate cakes from here ,and the usual ones you get in shops and restaurants.Would highly recommend this place and will be visiting again very soon.

A new local to Cowbridge vegan cafe. Been here with my partner on two occasions. Food excellent, fresh and full of flavour, cooked to perfection by the owner / chef. Eco friendly environment, with plenty of seating. Take away also an option. Prices excellent for Cowbridge and surrounding area. The toasted vegan cheese and Kimchi sandwich is out of this world. I urge you to try if in the area!
