Great atmosphere. They Play good music and its a really nice space. Had pretty much the whole menu between us and we couldn't find fault with any of it. Definitely coming back

We loved One O'clock gate!!! The food and service were fantastic. It was our first time visiting, and being a half veggie, half meat eating party, we were catered for brilliantly! Loved the wonton nacho special, and the tiramiso was amazing. I really can't emphasise how great the service was though. So slick, welcoming, friendly, and efficient. Such a great team! Will 100% be coming back. Thanks for having us!

Never disappoints, tasty food, value for money and the staff are fantastic. Korean chicken is a must !!! And always plenty on your plate.

First visit with family who have been before. Amazing food, Molly waitress was amazing. Friendly, knew the menu inside out , put up with my husband and brother on law's banter really well.. Hopefully she will go far in this industry as she deserves to. Would highly recommend this restaurant 👌. Will definitely be back.

Had lunch today which was delicious as was the coffee. The atmosphere was friendly and the staff most accommodating. I just wish the seating was more comfortable but that's for most restaurants we visit not just 1 o'clock gate thank you

Was completely unaware of this restaurant until recently and what an amazing place. The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff were very friendly and welcoming…….and then there’s the food !! There’s a good variety on the menu and good value for money. Absolutely delicious food, full of flavour and beautifully presented. We all had a different burger and shared side, which were all equally as good. Everyone really enjoyed their food. Will definitely visit again soon

Better make reservations as we didn't expect to need them going early on a weekday. Convinced them to seat us as there were plenty of tables available. We were surprised to find only Korean food on the menu, and we did not enjoy the spicy flavoring. Rather noisy children did not add to the atmosphere. Next time in Dinas we'll stick to the pubs [Cross Keys is under great new management] or try the Balti Tandori Indian. JMHO...

Fabulous fusion Korean Burgers the deep fried Cauliflower is to die for Great venue & atmosphere all year round!

We travelled from Carmarthen at the recommendation of a friend and are so glad we did. The service was warm , professional and friendly, and it was lovely that staff were smiling even though it was a busy service with a large group for a party also there. The food was lovely, particularly the satay chicken and the cauliflower. And the tiramiso (not a typo!) was superb. A great place- thank you

Have been eating here for a while now and it is by far my favourite restaurant in the Cardiff area. It has a great vibe inside, the staff are so friendly and helpful and the food in unbelievable. Highly recommend the chicken and beef bowls, but everything is so good the hardest thing is always deciding as the menu is that good.

1st visit to the One o’clock Gate last night after being recommended by a friend. The whole experience was perfect, food was amazing and the staff were great. Will definitely return soon

It is a wonderful place to have food. 1st time we have been here. 4 of us ordered some beautiful food dishes. The 1st thing I will say is that the staff are lovely, but unfortunately it seemed very, very difficult to get their attention. They never came to ask us how our meal was, and when we wanted more drinks, we had to really look out for them to attract their attention. The food and drinks were very nice, and 100% we would go back and hopefully get a little better service. The staff were very polite and helpful when you got their attention. With regards to ordering of food, if you are a small eater then order burger and chips, if you are a medium eater and there is 2 of you, you would need to order a burger each, 2 of the separate dishes and share a dish of chips also. Went again and still service very slow, which is a shame. I personally think they need to improve their menu and give some different choices 🤔

We've been here many times and every single time is as good as before - Easily our favourite place to eat. There are so many amazing options, especially for veggies. Most restaurants go for the same, safe choices but here even veggies are spoilt for choice. The service is always really good and the vibe is always really relaxed. We've been here for celebrations, for family meals, for a quick lunch and they never drop the ball. Definitely one of the gems of Dinas Powys.

A jewel in Dinas Powys, if you haven't paid a visit its a must, fantastic food and service.

Considering its location off the beaten path, in a fairly unassuming spot beside a rural golf club, One O'clock Gate is punching far beyond its weight. After reading a few reviews before visiting, I was expecting a decent meal but the food absolutely blew me away. This was without a shadow of a doubt some of the best food we've had in years. Every item was presented with immaculate attention to detail, and the recipes and execution were flawless. To start, we tried the tacos, which were on as a special at the time. After one bite each we were suddenly very excited to see what the rest of the meal would entail. The texture and flavours in this starter alone were phenomenal, and we were instantly reassured that the chef was not messing about. This was going to be some exceptional food. The Hot Honey Panko Cauliflower was a standout dish, which was surprising as I'm no vegan and I've never been impressed with cauliflower 'wing' type dishes before, but these were something else. The Sechuan Burger was beautifully cooked, and the use of local dry-aged beef alongside other fresh ingredients really shined through. The portion was enormous and great value considering it was only a couple of quid more than you'd pay for some tasteless, defrosted run-of-the-mill burger at a chain pub. My wife had the crispy beef which was again, seriously impressive. Even the side of sticky rice was seasoned beautifully with sushi seasoning and was a step above what we'd expected. Unfortunately by this time, we were beyond stuffed and unable to sample any dessert items. I was also impressed by the fully stocked bar, with some lovely draught options as well as wines, spirits and handmade cocktails on offer. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, but not overbearing, and had a great knowledge of the dishes on offer, helping enormously with recommendations. One O'clock Gate offers exceptional value for the service and quality you receive. The food isn't the cheapest you'll find, but it's hardly expensive, and when compared to other meals out you'd get for the same price, OOG absolutely blows it out of the water. We will absolutely return at the earliest opportunity.

We went as a family of four for a special occasion, the one o’clock gate was recommended us and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing, we couldn’t get enough of it. Two of us had the burgers and the other two of us had the mixed plates. Well we all ended sharing & having a taste of everything. Love it! Would definitely go back. To polish of the meal we had desserts, well the tiramisu was just incredible, the best I’ve ever tasted. Would definitely have that again. Staff were friendly, professional, polite, they were very accommodating, they couldn’t do enough. Great staff!

We just had Friday lunch at One O'Clock Gate! The food was tasty, delicious, and fresh. I hadn’t tried Korean food before, but I'm really glad I did, and I would definitely return. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The whole atmosphere was just perfect for a relaxed Friday lunch.

Fabulous meal and unique menu. If you want something a little different, with a fusion of different Asian cuisines and cocktails, then give it a try. Relaxed atmosphere and great story behind the owners passion to create this restaurant . Definitely worth a visit especially if you like spicy.

On a positive note, we love this place - staff are amazing, so friendly and can't do enough for you. Venue is fab and very welcoming and food is delicious. .We've been 6 tmes now. The last twice the menu has changed, which we found frustrating, especially when you are looking forward to something you've had before and loved. The Soy Garlic Burger which was one of the tastiest burgers we've ever eaten has been taken off the menu and replaced with Tare which we didn't enjoy as much. We came on a Thurs and were told no chilli fries which we love, just plain fries😩 But the chilli fries were available on a set meal????? My Sis had a bowl of chicken which she thought would have come with a salad but didn't. I think menus are different on different days. It would be nice to be able to get the same thing every time. The food is gorgeous but I'm a creature of habit and would love everything on the menu to be available all the time especially a side like chilli chips. Saying that, and putting forward that little bit of constructive criticism, you will really love it here. It 's lovely x

Absolutely awesome! This place is definitely 5 star. The customer service was exceptional with everyone being friendly and polite. The food was super delicious, cooked perfectly with amazing flavours and great presentation. A top class experience from beginning to end, thank you one o'clock gate!

Very very good food. Most of what we had was incredible. Korean burger and mac and kim cheese were 10/10. Disappointed by the Korean fries. At almost £10 for some fries with some sauce and veg I felt they were tasty but quite heavily overpriced. Similar story with one of the mocktails we had, for what it was, overpriced. All in all, good value and great food. Will definitely go back.

Wow!!! Absolutely stunning food, small menu which makes the food better quality! We came as a family of girls and opted to share dishes, the flavours were delightful and quality and quantity of food spot on. Definitely a hidden Gem. Staff were lovely and attentive. I will definitely be visiting again!

Consistently great food and great service

First time experience: Very welcoming atmosphere, very modern considering the location, which I liked. Food was great, well cooked and plenty of hyprid flavours to choose from. I would have preferred the burgers to come with a small side of anything rather than nothing, perhaps a small salad or chips. Staff were lovely, patient and kind, even talked in detail about future menu options they were testing which was interesting. A bit on the pricey end considering burgers come standalone but very flavoursome. Would recommend :) Thanks for having us

The booking process was probably one of the most wholesome I've yet experienced. Greg and Dave were not only quick to reply, but switched on enough to predict and suggest ideas that we haven't even thought about. The venue itself was pristine, cozy and well organised. The tables were well spaced which gave big groups the ability to communicate across the table without disturbing the other patrons. The DJ helped keep the celebration feeling alive. The staff was prompt, friendly and quick to make accommodations for our needs. They were well staffed, and there was barely any wait for drinks. Finally the food...oh the food. The originality of the dishes paired with how good everything tasted made the night. We had vegans and vegetarians as part of our group and they were given proper well-thought, flavourful dishes to make up for the bits they couldn't have - none of your usual "we can make this without the cheese and the meat for you" as replacement options. All in all, I wouldn't change anything. We are going back for my wife's 30th in a couple of months. Thanks to all the staff that worked hard to make that wonderful night possible.

Have been to One O'Clock Gate many times and food is consistently exceptional. Menu is small but they do it very, very well. Without doubt some of the best food I've ever tasted and certainly some of the best available within Cardiff and surrounding area. Nice wine selection, good cocktails and atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They are also very good with allergies and it's one of the few places my coeliac friend trusts for food.

Paid a visit to the ONE O'CLOCK GATE this afternoon for lunch, was not disappointed. The decor and lighting helps create an ambience of warmth and friendliness about the place. As soon as you walk in you feel at home, we didn't want to leave. The service was excellent, (well done to the team you have working there). The food was outstanding, right up my street. Would definitely come back here again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Innovative contemporary small plates and burger menu. Great dessert choices too. This really is a hidden gem in Dinas Powys ,based at the golf club but open to non golf club members Based in a large function room attached to the club house the venue is light and airy. Ideal for lunch or early evening dining. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Still wearing shorts in October! The food is delivered piping hot and beautifully presented We have recently had 2 baby additions to the family. The large space provides plenty of room for buggies!

I have been here before and I always forget that they do some of the greatest burgers in Cardiff! Food is always great. The staff didn’t make me feel weird for being on my own (dog helped) and were really attentive without being too attentive. It’s a real gem!

Birthday meal with family. We all chose the Asian/Korean burgers. The flavours were fantastic, side dishes needed more seasoning but everything cooked well. When they arrived the staff were friendly. Then we decided to look at the dessert menu and our server never returned! Everyone avoided eye contact. I eventually got up and paid at the bar without ordering dessert. Later my partner who was facing the bar told me that the bartender was goofing around and staff gathered there to chat often. Almost 5 stars, food excellent, staff very pleasant but far too inattentive.

The burgers are insane but the small plates are even better! My favourite place to go for a coffee or a cheeky morning pint of offshore. Highly recommend OOG, well worth traveling for, book to not be disappointed. If you are dining for 2, split a burger in half and share 3 small plates.

Loved the Korean chicken burger!

Following really helpful advice from the staff regarding food selection, I enjoyed an amazing lunch with my family to celebrate my wife's birthday. The Korean chicken burger with cauliflower and honey chips was fantastic. The fire on my tongue was cured by a quick douse from the water jug supplied when we arrived. I would have had pudding if there was any room! Prices were reasonable and about average for the fayre. Booking is optional but apparently recommended for evenings. Gluten free menu is available so son in law got a doggy bag too. Thanks guys we had a great time.

Highly recommend One O’Clock Gate. Food is superb, cocktails are some of the best we’ve had & staff are very friendly. Lovely outdoor seating and Dog friendly which is a bonus. Look forward to returning to try the rest of the menu!

Get excited because you're about to eat the best food ever

Friends had been recommending this place for a while so I finally decided to go there for lunch. I went with my Mum and we both absolutely loved it. We shared the Panco King Prawns, Mac & Kim-Cheese, Hot Honey Cauliflower, Hispi Cabbage and Chilli Fries. It has been a long time since we enjoyed a meal this much and we returned a week later. We pretty much had the exact same food but swapped the Mac & Kim-Cheese for the Korean Fried Chicken. We are already planning our next lunch there and will gradually work our way through the menu. It is truly fabulous food in a contemporary setting with very attentive and helpful staff! If you haven't been there you are missing an exceptional dining experience

Lovely place and fabulous staff. The menu is quite small but oh wow the food was gorgeous. Shared the Korean Chicken, satay noodles, Mac and cheese, prawns and fries. It was all lovely. Reasonable prices too.

My first visit and won’t be my last. Visited for lunch today. Our waiter (tall, slim young man with glasses) was really pleasant, helpful and provided good insight into menu choices prior to our ordering. Food was delicious and good portion. Great that they provided takeaway box for leftovers. Stylish venue with a good vibe, delicious food & great service. I highly recommend.

We can't fault One O'clock Gate. Great atmosphere and space to relax, dedicated staff, food that we travel overseas to find - right on our doorstep. All the meals are intriguing delights. Even the sauces are unique. A pleasure for a meal, a drink, a coffee, an easy venue to park and meet up with choices for everyone.

Amazing food and very friendly service. Burgers were perfectly cooked. There's great balance between the ingredients. Gluten free bun was good, but not the best. However it still worked well with my burger. Fries are great and the Korean ones in particular. Got the sauce on the side as it's not GF. Everyone loved them. Drinks are quite limited, and so is the seating. But I'm sure once they're done refurbishing (early 2022 I was told) it'll all be better. Do yourself a favour and give these guys a try. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic burger restaurant. Tried both Korean and Teriyaki, both were outstanding burger matching the likes of Patty&Bun or Honest Burger in London. The fries could need more work to be at the same level as the burgers and some other sides could be interesting. As a fresh team with one location, I really wish you great success in expending this fantastic concept that stands-out in the current burger scene of the Cardiff area. Think Deliveroo/Uber dark kitchens, catering corporate events, truck locations in Cardiff/Bristol…Your brand/concept is strong enough.

Previously visited in a morning for coffee, which is probably the best I’ve ever had! I mean, it’s special!! Visited again for dinner with family. I’m not really a burger fan tbh but enjoyed the miso caramel chicken. The Korean fries, cauliflower & satay chicken all delicious, as were desserts. The coconut ice cream was awesome & I don’t like ice cream normally. Constructive feedback: cigarette smoke from outside was a little off-putting, so would suggest closing the doors. I felt the burger plates were small esp if you order sides. My partner was given the wrong burger - but had already demolished it by the time staff or he, had realised 😂 Most importantly, my veggie 10yr old was given a beef burger 😱 the staff realised & literally ran over to take it away after she’d already taken a nibble of it. The burgers look really similar (to me) so may be the vegan / veggie food should be more distinguishable, to prevent this from happening again? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I can only assume half our party had received someone else’s order. Despite this, the food was really lovely and it’s so refreshing to have a restaurant like this on our doorstep, we will be back.

Amazing food. Limited menu which we liked and what's on it is delicious! Staff really friendly. Wheelchair accessible : flat access, and accessible toilet, couldn't see any designated disabled parking but spacious car park.
