Llanerch Vineyard Restaurant in The Vale of Glamorgan

Had afternoon tea, it was bought as a gift, as I'm gluten free I always wonder what I'm going to get!!!sandwiches, cakes and scone were lovely, down side I never get the savoury pastries.

I was given a voucher by my daughters for mother's day for a Sunday Lunch. Upon Arrival I was informed that I had been allocated a dog care table. I advised that I do not have a dog and requested a seat in the actual Restaurante. I had booked previously and at no time Was a dog care table mentioned. I did not want to make a fuss particularly as it coincided with my 45 th wedding anniversary. I was told in no uncertain terms that was to be my allocation when I noticed numerous seats in the restaurante that were available. I tried to make the best of the situation and they told me that only one dog was in that area which happened to be a large rottweiler. The meal was OK however, the seats were really uncomfortable. The waitress to be fair was lovely The couple who owned the dog dog were great although they had to move her under the table for us to pass. I will never return.

We enjoyed a Sunday lunch here today at Llanerch Vineyard, the staff were all extremely friendly and courteous, a special mention to Chiara who was our main waitress. The food was delicious and the venue excellent. We enjoyed a coffee outside on the terrace after our lunch. We will definitely return. Only one pic as to busy enjoying the surroundings.

Had an informative, delicious Wine Tasting Tour followed by an excellent lunch in Roots Restaurant & coffee with moreish Llanerch Truffles outside under an umbrella - a gorgeous sunny day in beautiful surroundings, such kind and accommodating staff in a glorious place.

A beautiful venue for a wedding, arrived to prepare hair & makeup for our bride and her bridal party for her special day. Beautiful preparation room, but the lighting for makeup could be better, we brought our own light rings, knowing there was no natural light for application.

Please could I start by saying that this is the first negative review I have ever written—but I feel compelled to share my experience, as I am genuinely very upset. I tried to book Afternoon Tea for two at Llanerch Vineyard last week. The phone line was initially busy, but I eventually got through to a very polite gentleman. He explained that he didn’t work directly in the restaurant but kindly offered to take my request (Afternoon Tea for two this Saturday at 2pm), said he would try to book it for me, and promised to call me back. I never received a follow-up. I rang again today to check. A lady answered, and when I began to explain the situation, she immediately cut me off and said I must be lying, insisting they are not permitted to take bookings in that way. I was taken aback—it’s extremely upsetting to be called a liar when I was simply repeating what I’d been told. Despite this, I asked if there was still availability for Saturday, which there was. I proceeded to book and mentioned that one of us is both gluten and dairy free. I was told they could only accommodate one dietary requirement, not both. I politely mentioned that I had visited just a few months ago and had been served a delicious gluten and dairy free Afternoon Tea. She curtly told me that “things have changed” and then hung up on me. I’ve never experienced such poor customer service. I was nothing but polite throughout and simply trying to make a booking. I had been looking forward to returning to Llanerch Vineyard, but after today, I will not be returning—and sadly cannot recommend it to others.

My favourite restaurant in Wales! This place is amazing: great service , great atmosphere, wonderful food. I’ll certainly be back!

We dined at the restaurant, the staff were very kind and greeted us straight away. They had good knowledge of the wines. Excellent wine pairings and the Welsh Fillet was cooked to perfection. Maybe a touch overpriced but overall a lovely experience.

Very good restaurant with great food. This was a midweek visit. We chose off the 3 course set menu. The presentation was very good , cooked just right and tasted delicious. We chose a bottle of the Organic Pinot Grigio £26 which complimented the meal well.

Never been before - we went for Mothers Day celebration (Friday before). Lovely venue. Great location. Food choices very nice quality excellent.

Lovely food, wonderful setting and exceptionally good staff.

We booked this for a 25th Wedding anniversary meal and we weren’t disappointed! We had exceptional food, wine and service. We weren’t rushed and were really able to enjoy our visit there. Would 100% recommend and will be returning for our anniversary next week 🫶

The afternoon was absolutely lovely! A real treat. I took my mum here for Mother’s Day and we had a lovely time. The afternoon tea was yummy, we both really enjoyed the extra savoury plate, something a little bit different to the usual! The service was fast and friendly. Will definitely come back.

Lovely afternoon tea in a very nice restaurant. Tea, sandwiches and cakes were scrummy as was the wine. Staff polite. It was busy, bit of a wait for tea & coffee to be served. It was cold in the restaurant, a few ladies were putting jackets/cardigans on including myself. The air conditioning was on in March? Although a lovely day not warm enough for the air con, although it did seem to click off once or twice which was much more comfortable with it off. Receiving the bill noticed 10% service charge which I disagree with. Should be left to the diner whether they want to leave a tip and the amount. Would I recommend?...definitely, although expensive.

Had Sunday roast lunch today was absolutely awful never had such bad beef, couldn’t cut it was like rubber. Been previously and was nice but would definitely not be returning. Very poor a few other customers were also complaining about poor beef.

Tried Llanerch for the first time today. 4 of us having lunch, 3 courses, drinks, bottle of good wine, and a cocktail. £235, fair price for the quality of the food and service. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the service from the waiter was very good. 3 hours flew by. I'll be back.

Stayed 1 night for business meeting. Very large and luxurious room with fill width opening window and great view. Had dinner with 4 colleagues, sampled their own wines. Food and wine were excellent. Overall a superb hidden gem.

Stunning restaurant with beautifully prepared food. Really appreciated the vegan optional dishes - and the attentive service. Also thrilled to stay overnight for the first time and be given a room with wonderful views. Everything was spotless, smart and professional. Diolch!

We have visited previously, the food and customer service are of a very high standard. An extensive menu particularly accommodating Vegan & GF which 3 of our party were extremely satisfied with. All food was cooked to perfection, I would highly recommend the Scallops starter which was superb, the desserts were also very good all courses were well presented and attractive. Table service was timely, served by professional sincere attentive staff who were all happy at their workplace.

Fantastic food. Went for a Sunday lunch with the wife and thoroughly enjoyed the three course offering. The starter was just right and then the main was a great way to have a Sunday lunch. The desserts were a perfect way to finish off the meal. I would highly recommend coming here.

Stopped off for a last minute sunday lunch after a shopping trip. Our first visit. Lovely restaurant. Staff were extremely polite. Would visit again in the summer and try the wine tasting options. Food overall was very good lovely veg sides, we did mention that the beef was quite bad on this occasion and without asking this was removed from our bill. Very proffesional. Lovely meal, the food was excellent and very tasty. All the servers were kind and attentive, and their wine was gorgeous. Reasonably priced meal for the quality and service. The restaurant overlooks the vineyard and is a wonderful view. Make sure to grab a bottle or two of their wine from reception as well! Highly recommend!

Generally a good experience My wife’s pear starter was very poor and she hardly ate it but we were charged for it £10 which was very disappointing However the lamb main course was excellent, very tasty and well presented

Fantastic lunch today... New Year's Day. Festive menu. Everything was exceptional! Definitely the best restaurant for quality and service and value for money. Can't wait to return.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Llanerch vineyard. The surroundings were beautiful, the food was absolutely fantastic and the service was exemplary. I have to say as a vegetarian I went for the aubergine moussaka and wow, it is the best I've tasted. Although all 3 of us really enjoyed our meals so much, we hardly spoke.The clementine cheesecake dessert was wonderful and really hit the spot. Yes, it is a little pricey, but it is worth it, and what a treat. I am so glad we chose to visit. We will be back. What a lovely experience

Had an afternoon tea in the garden view room, which is next door to the restaurant. It was superb. The finger sandwiches and dessert treats were so tasty. The service was excellent, attentive but not overbearing. Ours was the festive version, which came with some savouries. Looking forward to trying the summer version in the near future.

Earlier in the year we had a fabulous afternoon tea at the Llanerch Restaurant so decided to try a Sunday lunch at the end of October. Once again we were completely satisfied with our experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant was really excellent which was followed with great food and drink. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. We will definitely be visiting again and have already bought a voucher to give as a Christmas present. Well done to all the staff

Nice relaxed atmosphere for Christmas get together with a few colleagues. Good value for money at £30 starter and main (except steak extra). My Lemon sole was first class and large!. Others enjoyed their selections too. Ordered bottle of the Vineyard’s white and red wines. Not invited to taste. White was excellent but red could have been corked. Exchanged for another bottle of white without question. Limited side dishes - chips or salad. Interesting but limited desert menu. Excellent setting just of J33 M4 outside Cardiff.

we've been before and the setting and ambience are fine.we booked lunch for 12.15 and arrived on time .we were seated straight away and ordered our meal and drinks in 5 minutes . after 40 minutes we got the head waiter and complained that we were still waiting he said it was only 25 minutes and walked off while i was talking.the starters arrived soon after and they were fine. at 1.40 we checked out and settled our bill with no sign of our meal .we wont go back and have cancelled another visit

Nice place, staff very helpful and couldn't do enough for you. (Except offered water when we got there didn't mention that the cost of it was £6 per bottle which they brought 2 then told us when payment was made) Very disappointed with the food soup was cold for starters bread was tough. 2 fish and chips were ordered for main meal. Chips were very hard and seemed like they were cooked 6 times not three. And and as for the fish looked like the ones you buy in farm foods 2 in a box for £1 . Can't understand why they only take card instead of cash as well or just they want to hide the add ons when you pay at the end. Disappointed ☹️

This was our first time staying at Llanerch Vineyard and it was wonderful! We stayed in a courtyard room which was so spacious, clean and comfortable. We had an evening meal at the restaurant which was out of this world! The service and food in the restaurant was 5*. It had a lovely atmosphere! Unfortunately, the weather wasn't on our side to explore much of the grounds but we definitely want to return in Spring/Summer for a Vineyard tour. Diolch!

Excellent all round. The quality of the complex is very high, the rooms clean and welcoming. The food and service all excellent. Wine tasting very good and informative. The only shame you couldn't see the wine making as this is done off site. Would highly recommend.

We have visited Llanerch Vineyard multiple times and each visit has been memorable. Great service, a friendly team and fantastic food and wine. The grounds are beautiful, make sure you take a stroll through the woodland walk. Beautiful. Thank you for another memorable visit, we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Wow, absolutely incredible! I have a dairy allergy and wow do they cater for allergies. I have never been to a restaurant and been so catered for. The food was absolutely incredible, the only difference between the normal roast and dairy free is a Yorkshire pudding! Our server Reece was the best waiter I have ever had. He was ever so accommodating, extremely friendly and efficient - everything you could ever want from a server. Thank you Reece and Llanerch! Will be back again soon. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Booked for lunch. Set menu with a good choice of dishes. Most of us had the steak which was delicious. Great selection of wines and ended the day with drinks outside over looking the Vineyard. Certainly recommend this hotel and restaurant

The Vineyard has been completely transformed during locking creating a range of new spaces inside and out. I'm looking forward to eating inside when restrictions end, but for now a baguette on the terrace overlooking the vines is a real pleasure.

Selected Llanerch for a corporate experience for 18 colleagues. We had afternoon tea, vinyard tour and dinner, we all stayed overnight with breakfast the following morning prior to departure. Everything was amazing, service was excellent throughout. Jo was our vinyard tour guide and she really was entertaining. The bedrooms were amazing, the view even better. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something different and special. Top class, and thank you to the reception staff for being there to answer all my questions and help create such an amazing and memorable experience.

We went to a wedding here and it was lovely, it's a beautiful venue. The staff were amazing and very attentive, topping up our drinks constantly and serving the canapes.

Just tried to book afternoon tea and the woman who was on the phone has got no manners whatsoever. Absolutely disgusting attitude and even put the phone down without saying goodbye. Wouldn’t waste my time or money, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I have now booked to go to the Celtic Manor. Much better service there ❤️🩵

A lovely place for family with beautiful scenic views and the vineyards along with a beautiful walking pathway thru the woods.

Although Llanerch was in the middle of grape harvest everything at this wondeful hotel was as perfect as it always is. Great customer service from Front of House and my bedroom was immaculately clean everyday, with daily replenishment of biscuits and water. The food in the resturant was fantasic and the selection of wines and beers is second to none. I am already booked in for two more trips this year.

we had a graduation event in the Llanerch Vineyard hotel. It was an amazing place ,service 5 stars ,atmosphere 5 stars.. we will definitely come back to this place.

This is the third time I have popped into book a table and not booked due to unhelpful staff. I wanted to book for people who are partially deaf so wanted a quieter corner. I understand that it is an open restaurant but having a table in a corner is very different to being in the middle when you have hearing loss. I was told THREE times quite dismissively that “it’s a Saturday and it is busy, everywhere is busy on a Saturday!” I didn’t ask for a non busy restaurant, I simply asked for a corner table which would be quieter. A little understanding, a smile and support would have been lovely. Llanerch please train your staff in customer service skills and knowledge of disabilities!

Room, food, views and wine are spectacular. We love this place and have returned on several occasions. Only thing missing is a spa!

Didn't stay so cannot rate the rooms, but one of the nicest lunches I have ever had. The food is stunning and the service absolutely impeccable, cannot rate it highly enough.

Amazing wine - beer and rooms. Incredible. Terrible and over priced breakfast. They sold it well to me saying it’ll be 15 if I book in advance or 25 the morning of. Breakfast 1 was a full English and typical cheap hotel ingredients or just horribly over cooked. Disappointing for a well established hotel as this. Second breakfast was avocado toast. No seasoning, one bit of bread, two eggs (due to request) At least salt, pepper, maybe some lemon? Everything was amazing but the breakfast was awful. Amazing parking - amazing rooms - amazing atmosphere in the evenings in the bar. I didn’t have the opportunity to have dinner there unfortunately but if it was anything like the breakfast I wasn’t missing out.

Can't decide whether or not to gatekeep this beautiful welsh gem. My boyfriend took me here on Wednesday for the mid week and tutored wine tasting retreat. The wine tasting was very well organised and a had a great balance between learning about and tasting wine. Vicky our tour guide had a lovely sense of humour and was very charismatic. Llanerch has some beautiful grounds, a cosy restaurant with great food, attentive staff and amazing views. I can't wait to return for another romantic getaway.

Aruchel! We did not stay at hotel so the review is just for the restaurant. What a lovely evening. Restaurant showcases the best of Welsh food, wine and hospitality. Each course was perfection. Support this and try their wines, surprisingly good. Well worth a visit

Great vineyard with restaurant and rooms. The quality was really good and the breakfast was exceptional.

Food, service and setting incredible. We ate from the 2 course lunch menu-generous portions and tasted superb. Kids ate from the kids menu, they loved it. Will be back soon. Service from Rhys was impeccable, an absolute gentleman. Highly recommend. Diolch

We went for dinner on a sunny evening and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The staff were very attentive and friendly throughout the night. I believe the waitresses name was Jess, she was superb and very helpful! We finished the night with a bottle of wine whilst overlooking the vineyard. Would definitely recommend 10/10.

Very nice gaff, staff lovely and helpful on arrival. The room was nice with all the amenities you'd expect. The only thing I can moan at is that I found this with loads of accommodation. Staff don't like cleaning shower heads, jets blocked with mould Apart from that, it's a very nice place

Afternoon tea stunning .. service brilliant just loved it...

My mum and I have stayed here for two nights, whilst seeing Pink in Cardiff. The stay, room, breakfast was exceptional. The staff, from reception (Liz) , dining, the owner and everyone else is unbelievable. We had an issue with our keys being locked in the car, and three of the staff had gone above and beyond in a way which cements that kindness from strangers is truly beautiful. We’re so thankful for the wonderful experience and can’t wait to be back. (Not even home and already planning our next visit - if you’re considering this place please just go 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟)

Lovely accomodation, lovely food and a fascinating afternoon wine tasting.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Ate in the restaurant every breakfast and dinner. Peaceful, yet in an ideal location to be visiting friends and sightseeing in various parts of South Wales. Easy access to Motorway. Will definitely be staying here again when I am back in South Wales.

Cannot believe this place is in Wales. Felt like we were abroad. Amazing food and the wine tasting tour with Jo was fantastic. (Bet she was glad to see the back of us 🤣🤣 only joking ) Thank you to all the team at Llanerch Vineyard.

Lovely location for a wedding or a a base to view the area. Bar is card only which was not only inconvenient but expensive to cover the extra bank cost for taking cards.

Beautifull food brilliant service and set in beautifull countryside

My mum paid in full for gift vouchers for us in December 2022. Sadly we were not able to use them in 2023 as my Dad was very unwell so I had to spend most weekends travelling to look after him. I contacted them before the voucher expired and they agreed to extend the vouchers by three months, which I had presumed to be the end of March (they did not clarify so it was a little unclear). Fast forward to 19th March I had finally a window to go and I cleared diaries and arranged childcare, only to be told vouchers had expired and there were not willing to honour them. Very unkind and petty and terrible customer service. Also there is no way of talking to anyone, just answer phone and abrupt 'computer says no' emails. Basically they have our money and I have received nothing in return despite trying. I run a small business and would never treat customers like this. Very disappointed.

Took my husband for afternoon tea for his birthday. The whole experience was lovely “lush” as they say here in Wales. The food was delicious and as an extra treat, they brought my husband out a cup cake with a candle and ‘happy birthday’ written in chocolate. Would definitely recommend

We visited the restaurant today for high tea. Very pleased with the food and was given boxes to take home the cakes we hadn't eaten . Also we were able to take our dog.

We ended up here purely by chance. We tried another venue which was fully booked and ghe staff were quite rude, so I did a quick Google search and spotted this little gem 💎. Lovely drive, ample of parking, beautiful ground and seating areas. Discovered up until recently they only prodand sold their wine on site but they now sell online. Staff were very polite and professional, food was cooked to perfection. My partner is a chef and if he's impressed it says something. Tried 2 different wines and very enjoyable. If you want a lovely experience look no further.

Had Lunch for a special Birthday. Food was excellent for the money, the restaurant is nicely appointed with views over the Vineyard. Our last fine dining experience was Limewood in the new forest and I would say if you normalised the meals £ for £ the whole experience is equal to Limewood. Yet it's less than half the price. We will be back.

Here is a list of nice things it has: rooms, bar, restaurant, grounds. AND it was dog friendly, which was nice as the grounds are lovely. There's a little lake and it's all just VERY, VERY PLEASANT. The fact it's about 45 centimetres off the M4 is also very handy. So in short, go there. It's VERY NICE.

The whole environment is relaxing and perfect for a peaceful evening with family or friends. The food was exceptionally good and the staff were polite and friendly. It is a quality restaurant without the snobbery that some attract.

Had a restaurant book Sept 30th. Made specific point to order the fish with no sauce as my mother-in law didnt want any sauce. The fish came out covered in sauce plus it was cold, almost freezing cold. The chips looked like they had been...

What an amazing experience. There was 4 of us having lunch and the afternoon was exceptional. The serving staff were very attentive and knowledgeable, the food was excellent I would highly recommend anyone who wants to be spoiled to go and spend the time here....

The hotel had booking slot times for breakfast, this was great as the tables and team are prepared for your arrival. It's all very nicely coordinated without feeling scripted. The full english breakfast was delicious. The veggie full english was super great as well.
