Nice staff, nice food. Lots of choice with a specials board. Dog friendly, with rules which is perfectly acceptable 👍. Baby changing room. Unisex loos (plenty of room inside, no squashing up against the loo which is a massive no no!) Eat outside or inside. Cozy feel. Cakes and coffees as well as breakfasts and lunches. Was a bit of an issue when one meal didnt turn up but they sorted that quickly. Kids menu looks good 👍. Order and pay at the till. Will go back when in the area.

This café is pure magic. Their waffles are golden, fluffy clouds — crisp on the outside, meltingly soft inside. A true gem for anyone who thinks comfort can be tasted.

I had not been for a while as I had heard it had gone downhill recently but we really enjoyed our teas and slices of cake that we had- delicious & you can tell they home-make their cakes. I can very highly recommend both the lemon and the coffee and walnuts sponge. Lost points from me as I wish they still had the option to have high tea here as we used to book that for most of our family occasions. But we will hopefully be back again for more this week as my friend says they do the best millionaires shortbread which is my favourite cake but you have to get there early to bag yourself a slice as apparently it goes quick!

Went in for coffee which was lovely. There is a very attractive selection of cakes, all hand made and look delicious. We did not eat in but decided to buy a few slices of cake to take home. I had the last slice of lemon drizzle which, as the others seemed fine. When I got home, half way through eating I noticed mould on the edge and underneath cake. Will not eat here again. Something going seriously wrong here if mouldy food is served. Needs a shake up !!

This place is fantastic, lovely ambiance, great view and fab food. A great place to stop for breakfast, lunch, coffee &cake, we've been here for all of the above. After a lovely walk on the beach we stopped in for breakfast, the eggs Florentine was fabulous, great quality sourdough, perfect poached eggs, you get the picture. My husband's tuna melt panini was so good I had quite a bit of that too! Despite coming for breakfast, the cakes were so enticing we had a second coffee and a slice of cake too! I had a really hard job choosing between 6 different AMAZING looking cakes. I can tell you the coffee&walnut and the biscoff sponge were awesome. I would give this place 6 or 7 stars if I could.

Such a lovely rustic coffee shop and the fact that they have a section for dogs is great. The Bacon and Brie Panini is amazing, even the dog approved. Look forward to going back. The staff are friendly and efficient. Highly recommend

Very disappointing on every visit (5 times) hot drinks arrived way before the toast… not just us either , almost everyone has already finished drinks before food came. Please please Whitmore & Jackson coordinate food with drinks where appropriate. This has happened to us too many times now to be because it is a busy time..

Went here with the kids today. They loved the strawberry waffles with Nutella and maple syrup! Amazing morning roll with delicious bacon and black pudding. Best I've ever had!! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

We had 2 veggie breakfasts, sausage for our dog and 2 latte coffees. Freshly cooked and not at all greasy like other establishments. Excellent quality and portions. Coffee was extremely good. All staff very helpful and friendly. We were all made welcome. Nice dog friendly place.

Great place for breakfast or just a cuppa, Dog friendly!

Good quality ingredients cooked well, very tasty breakfasts and the sourdough toast is really nice. There was a stew on the specials board and it was delicious. Only one minor complaint, hash browns could be crispier, they’re a bit soft but it won’t stop us going back again

This place has a good selection of vegetarian and vegan options for breakfast, which is great to see! However, the food could really benefit from being cooked a bit longer and seasoned better. With a little more attention to these details, it could be a much better spot.

Lying in bed at 4am in the morning writing this review I am cursing this place, I know I must've been served full fat coffee and not decaf as requested. Kids don't understand the effect caffine can have on people, and this place is staffed by kids. It's a shame as everything else about the place is nice, and we visit at least twice a month, but this is not the first time this has happened and I won't be trusting them again.

Whenever I come to Barry to get stuff fitted to my van I always come here. The food and service is fantastic, the staff are welcoming and really friendly. Been coming here for years and the quality is always great. Highly recommend

I wanted chips on the seafront, which I'm sure would have been lovely, but my husband chose here. So glad he did. Honestly the best tuna melt I have ever had. Usually tuna melts are more about the bread but this was not. Lots of tuna, seeded bread was lush. Salad and crisps too. Absolutely gorgeous. Staff are really friendly. Very busy but not a long wait for food. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back. Thank you!

False advertising if we where in America u wouldn't say so mutch but we are in Wales when they say with chips you expect chips not crisps and eating a jacket potato out of a bowl wasent the best idea it was difficult to eat.

We popped in after being turned away from another place ( for breakfast) well there loss and our gain as we were made to feel very welcome, The food was well presented and delicious. Staff very friendly, Loved it

The food was nice and you get good sized portions. The male server was really nice and friendly. We came in on a tuesday and like I said the male server was lovely, helpful and really friendly. BUT the 2 female servers were grumpy, unfriendly and not an asset to your business. They both let the side down. Our whole group felt they were rude and they didn’t smile, say very much or smile. They didn’t look like they wanted to be there or like they knew what customer service was. Was a real shame because the food was really nice.

9.am Saturday Morning...Went in to have breakfast after a long drive. What a fab breakfast!! (Sorry was so busy enjoying it forgot to take pics) Standard English - Sausage mushrooms egg (however you wanted it) bacon hash browns a nice chunk of warm buttered sourdough bread and a (large!) tea. No problem swapping items out..(because beans just don't belong on a breakfast)...Delivered to our table in under 10 mins. Great way to start the day. If we're ever back in Barry, we'll be back!

We had lunch here recently and thoroughly enjoyed it! We both had the chicken and mayonnaise sandwich on sourdough and it was absolutely delicious. It came with a side serve of crisps, coleslaw and salad. Such great value for money too! 10/10. Highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful, we only went in for coffee & snacks, but well worth it. I was treated very professionally. I am dairy free, not through choice, but a lot of cafes don't treat me respectfully. I was even offered dairy free spread for my teacake, that has never happened before and when I went to praise the owner his reply, "Its not rocket science" is so correct. Staff are lovely. Thank you all. Definitely recommend

The best coffee and breakfast at Barry Island without a shadow of a doubt. My daughter said the waffles are like biting in to a fluffy cloud😍. Add to that the fact that it is dog friendly and that’s a double win!!

Very friendly staff and greeted as we came in. Food arrived a bit quicker than our drinks. The sauces and shelves were spotlessly clean, but the saarachia sauce bottles weren't great. Will definitely be back.

Good food at good prices! I really recommend the breakfast. My only issue is that it's quite crammed in there and really difficult to get the pram in. And when you are at your table it's in everyone's way

Had to send my breakfast back as it was all cold. When it was returned to me he said it’s fine now as he heated it in the microwave. Egg was hard and looked like plastic the rest was so dry. My daughter ordered a Panini when received had sesame seeds all over it,It didn’t say on the menu that it was seated bread, and weren’t asked if we had any allergies, I know it’s the responsibility of the person but it’s just courtesy to check. Server just said oh well and walked off. It was a very busy Sunday,guess it was an off day for all but £40 on breakfast that we couldn’t eat.

Best fry up on Barry Island 👍 Dog friendly, however expect a long list of dog rules when you arrive. As long as you have a well behaved dog you'll be ok.

WiFi doesn't work. Music is super loud, so hard to hold a conversation. My order was wrong, but the lady did change it & apologise. You have to order at the counter & collect your own cutlery, but it is dog friendly.

We enjoyed an excellent freshly cooked breakfast on a grey December day. A full English with tasty butchers sausages and bacon. Good coffee too! Friendly helpful service in nice surroundings with a sea view.

Lovely food in a lovely environment. Easy access as we took our parents who gave mobility issues, but just across from the disabled parking zone… they loved it! All day breakfast and coffee were fab. We can also recommend the ham salad bowl! Staff were lovely and spoke with us regularly. A really nice place to visit for a bite to eat and a drink, whilst taking a walk down the island.

Dirty tables, customers with dogs on seats next to tables. Barking dogs on opposite table disrupting our conversation. I love dogs and have a well behaved one myself. Personally I don't let my dog on furniture but understand some people do AT HOME, but for a cafe to let dogs on seats I think it's unhygienic. Wouldn't matter so much if I had seen any attempt by staff to clean anywhere. Not very good value compared to other cafes I frequent.

This is a great eatery, really lovely environment, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Lush sea views! Fantastic staff and excellent food. Working in Barry over the summer and this fast became my favourite place to have brunch, lunch and get much needed refreshments. Love the frappes! Vegetarian and Vegan options. Love the sourdough sandwiches! Amazing cakes! Most of all the staff make this place because they are super relaxed but offer a first class service.

We came here for Afternoon tea to celebrate our grandchildrens GCSE results and graduation from University. The food was excellent and they catered for one gluten free which was outstanding .

The food and customer service was excellent. Was a delay with some of the food, and they were very apologetic about it and offered my wife and I a complimentary hot drink each to apologise. They then also refunded the breakfast I had as they felt it wasn't a good thing that I ate alone while my wife and kids waited. In summary, food excellent, customer service excellent. A little delay on this occasion.

I am GF and based on previous Trip Advisor reviews I went to Whitmore+Jackson for Breakfast/ Brunch with my 2YO, and family. On arrival it was fairly busy, but the waiter directed us to a choice of tables, and was pleasant. The menu insinuated GF options/ variants, but when I checked with the staff, I was given fully reassurances, on an item by item basis!! Sausages and Hashbrowns were not GF alternative, but were GF on all breakfasts, I just informed the waitress taking the order that I was GF for the chef to be aware (which I do even if ordering off a GF menu!) I had one of the nicest all-day-breakfasts with good quality GF bread. Prices were reasonable coming in at sub £40 for 4xmeals and drinks. I didn't ask for a childs menu as my LB wanted a jacket potato, there wasn't one clearly visible, nor was I asked if I wanted one (but I find that is the standard in most cafe-type eateries!). There were baby seats available, but we gave these up some time ago! The pews/ benches in some areas were high in relation to the table, which was great for my LB and other small children we saw.

Husband and I were staying at the Premier Inn. Neither of us are fans of buffet breakfast so we walked to Whitmore and Jackson for brekky ( we’ve eaten here before so knew it was good. It’s also half the price of a PI breakfast, decent coffee. ( latte is lovely) and the food is hot, hot, hot and freshly cooked Absolutely no complaints at all and highly recommend if you’re in the area that this is where you go for a generous, good quality, hot breakfast

Bought an afternoon tea as a Xmas present for my mother, tried booking for over 2 weeks without success phone line just ringing out. Sent a message via messenger automatic response back saying to book afternoon tea etc phone the number below the same number we've been trying for the last 2 weeks! Don't live local so decided to visit the shop to see if they were still open, in which they were. When mentioning we have been trying to phone to book an afternoon tea the guy rudely responded as well yes we are too busy to answer the phone as u can see, opened the till and slapped 40 pound in my mother's hand as a refund!!! Oh my gosh, very rude and abrupt man, have always came here for our afternoon teas but after that response today we won't be returning. Disgusting
