Went on Saturday night for an early birthday celebration. Wow !!! The food was absolutely outstanding. Service was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Portion size was the right size n clean plates all round. It's nice to have a curry house back in Leyland. As soon as we finished our meals, we sat back in the waiting area. The table was cleared n was freshly laid for the next reservation.

The best in Leyland for Indian food! Having eaten in Indian restaurants the length and breadth of the UK this is by far one of the best! The lamb naith is the best I have ever had and the lamb mogul is definitely worth booking for. We will be regulars there! Four months on from the launch of the new Viceroy the food is still brilliant and the quality is of the highest standard

Booked table for 8 of us. Fantastic surroundings, fantastic staff and outstanding food. Jamal has done wonders here and I seriously wouldn't go anywhere else for a sit down meal in the area. Looked after us well thankyou so much

The new Viceroy is top notch! Friendly atmosphere with brilliant staff and service. I also have to recommend the Mogul Lamb with red rice, absolutely beautiful meal.

Ordered a couple starters for takeaway on my way home, could only pay with cash online so I asked inside the restaurant if I could pay on card and wait and they were happy to accommodate. Staff were lovely from start to finish and the food was delicious, especially the shish kebab, can't wait to dine inside soon!

Food was distinctly average. I ordered a chicken and keema jalfrezi, and peshwari nan. Portion size for mixed starter was a piss take, and not so much as a popadom in sight despite having a £ 23.00 take out for one (including one cobra). Value for money, not. Will I go back ? Probably not. Restaurant was quite nice and staff friendly, but hugely underwhelmed given the hefty price tag. May be my last Indian from a restaurant. I can do better at home myself.

We have Known Jamal for over 30 years and he has a vast amount of experience in Indian Food and good service to the public,the New Viceroy Indian Rest.is no exception we visited on 11th AUG 2024, We had alovely meal the service from all the staff was excellent. The best Indian restaurant in the area lovely food, very friendly and helpful staff Tikka Masala excellent 7 in our party and everyone really enjoyed the food.

Having new management has made a massive difference. Lovely restaurant and the food is excellent. I visited with my wife who had a vegetable saag and I have the lamb moghal which was delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a lovely meal here. The midweek special menu is exceptional value for money with full portions and a lot of choice. The lamb was so tender and not fatty at all. Service was friendly and efficient with plenty of drink top ups and checks that everything was OK. Chef came out for a natter and explanation of how he had cooked parts of the dish we had. The music and environment was great and even when it got a bit busier with a lively birthday party, it still felt intimate in a booth which would easily fit 4 but we were given to ourselves. Will definately go again.

I've been to many Indian takeaways in Preston, but this one is the best of the lot. The flavour is top notch. I'll definitely be back again. It's a shame that the previous owners are knocking this review score down. It deserves 5 stars.

Update from previous review, we got a chance to visit Jamal and the new team at the New Viceroy, thoroughly enjoyed our meal, much better under the new management, food was delicious and the atmosphere is great.

Four mates called in and was met by old friend Jamal from many years going to Bangla Spice, and few familiar staff faces. Poppadoms and starters all hot and well spiced. We all had different dishes and I was recommended the Lamb Shank Mogli rather than standard Lamb Korai, I’d did not disappoint and the sauce was rich and deep in flavour similar to Korai. I know the previous Viceroy was very up and down in quality but the decor and attention to detail will be a great addition to Leyland that has lacked a decent Indian restaurant for many years. Just been for a meal at the new viceroy. The resturant is looking amazing. The food was so good. All the staff was very polite and nothing was too much trouble. Was lovely to be greeted by Jamal and to see him looking a lot more relaxed. We wish he well is his new resturant and im sure we will be visiting lots. All the best Maria and Greg

Visited the new Viceroy on their opening night for my partners birthday. The service was excellent and friendly. The food was just as good. As someone who doesn’t eat meat, I’m never sure what to expect, but the veg korma was delicious. Full of veg and really well cooked. Really great value for money too. The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is the naan bread was a little tough for my preference. Will definitely be visiting again!

Just don’t bother. Awful service, awful food. Go to KFC or for a kebab, or Tesco for a microwave curry. Dirty glasses that we had to ask for.

Food is excellent and timely when you're there in person. They don't seem to care about orders for delivery as they are consistently late every time we order delivery and we've been ordering on and off for years. Once they were an hour late. Conversely it never seems that busy when we pick it up ourselves. Again the food is gorgeous but the service is really sporadic.

food is usually really good from here, Balti is excellent every time from here, tonight flavourless and full of water. 4 out of 6 poppadoms didn't arrive and the 2 that did were chewy, mango sauce leaked everywhere all over the bag so that was a nightmare and the chips were barely cooked. massive let down and they are quite rude when you ring up to check where it is when it's late. on top of that delivery driver knocked on door left on cold porch and was driving off before I opened the door.

Super tasty flavoursome perfect Indian food. If you've tried here in the past you must come and try again. Rezzela dish is highly recommended, onion bhaji is perfect, salmon starter is divine.

Delivery was later than expected so had to call up to see where It was as site said It had already been delivered, they said It was on the way and quickly hung up (must have been a busy night I guess) Curry was luke warm, rice, saag aloo and onion bhajis were cold, which Is very unusual as previous orders have been brilliant. Maybe the delivery driver didn't show to collect and they had to send a member of staff. We ended up eating It anyway as It was treat night, though generally the food and service Is wonderful.

New synced lights and new decor had certainly added to the charm of this place. Food is great with loads of choice, limited drinks but Cobra and Kingfisher on draught. Plenty of room for small intimate alcoves or large open tables for parties.

There is a recent change at the Viceroy that has transformed it into a smart vibrant restaurant. New synced lighting gives the place an added oomph and with its bold decor it’s certainly a nice touch. Limited drinks choice but Cobra and Kingfisher are always good. Food as always is freshly cooked and tasty , decent portions and fairly priced . First time try of an Afghani curry and loved it, nice heat with good blend of spices. Aloo chat is filling and very tasty. Overall great meal out with nice service and competitively priced.

I have never ordered from the viceroy before because I thought it was a bit pricey, but my family highly rate it so I thought I would try it out with my partner. the order was delivered early and piping hot. the poppadums and dips were fine. the starters were ok but the lamb chop virtually cremated. the lamb passanda however was really disappointing. watery sauce that had not been reduced properly and overcooked chunks of lamb. won't be ordering again

After paying nearly 30 pounds for 2 meals was very disappointed order was short of 3 chappati when they finally arrived after driver realised he hadn't given us them it was to late meal was unined will not be useing again

Honestly I actually felt sorry for them it's was nearly empty. 1 blonde girl was running around doing everything because 1 of the lady's running it didn't no what she was doing and didn't understand English. The food was awful tasted reheated and bland. I will try again in a few months hopefully it will be a lot better

The special request - for my chicken prawn and chicken peas jelfrezi Asian style medium spice - was delicious. Also, my fried king prawn and massala fish were also nice. the only thing missing was a fresh lemon with the fish , , it would be lovely if they sold something like bolognaise noodles with keem or keema cheese pie kiesh pie - tuna sweet corn and pasta - the menu needs to change a bit

The food was cold..ordered a kabab a small piece was plonked in a box which was cold and awful.actually the whole meal was awfull so we won’t be going there again.supposed to be the best in leyland but will go elsewhere in future.

I’ve put a 1 star for food even tho I haven’t received it we have been here 1hr 50 and only had popadoms the service is extremely slow and they took orders from other people before us I have never been to such a rubbish place

Horrendous waited 2 hours for food fair enough it was 14 people but when it arrived naans we’re missing food was passed to wrong people food that wasn’t for us was forcefully gave to us and left 4 of us with really bad stomach ache I would’ve rather had a microwaveable meal Tried charging me £17 extra

Very late despite chasing the restaurant several times and getting fobbed off with a 3/4 minute delivery eta. Best part of an hour late, food was ok but naan breads were cold.

Only person in there, waited 20 mins for a couple of popadoms. Another 20 minutes for the main. In the meantime a family came in, ordered and walked out after waiting too long. The popadoms were soft and could be torn. The main course was utterly tasteless and comparable to a supermarket curry. I mentioned this politely to the waiter/owner who accepted my findings and offered a discount. Just give me a tenner he said, which I did, but I certainly will never set foot in there again. This place will not survive serving up shoddy food like this.. I wished him luck,

I have always gone to eat in at The Viceroy mid week. The atmosphere is quieter due to lack of clientele. I would say that it actually lacks atmosphere. The waiter who has worked here for many years, does not openly engage, this has a tendency to make the experience feel tense and uncomfortable. (I am unable to comment on weekend activity). The food is cooked to average western standards and taste. It is ok and consistent and I have never had a bad experience with the food. I have now found an alternative restaurant on Wigan Rd, heading towards Bamber Bridge. The reason for this, the last 3 times I have eaten in at The Viceroy, I have chosen from the mid week offer menu, where the waiter (older gentleman) has tried to over charge me by a few pounds each time and I have had to challenge the bill. If you do go here or order a takeout/delivery, be sure to check your invoice before payment!

Nice meal well ok went with our tastecard that we were supposed to be able to use but we're told that we couldn't although the tastecard did it could be used on Sundays (disappointed). We would go again but in reality I won't be rushing back.

Well well well where do I begin The mixed starter left me with nothing but mixed emotions fuming to see the state of it but happy I wernt paying the bill. Now when I eat a nice madras I like to feel a nice heat gradually kick in and hit the back of my throat not the two greasy black hairs i found this evening. Very bland food, all those spices in the kitchen and yet I've had more flavour in a bowl of porridge. wouldn't come back again the nicest thing about my experience tonight was leaving.
