we ordered a takeaway tonight . we would have visited but my wife had been unwell earlier in the day and was dressed in her Jim Jams . we have not used the Royal for several years as we had been disappointed in the past , but it has been well patronised recently so we thought we would give it another chance . we won't make that mistake again . we like our Indian meal to have fresh zingy flavours with things like fresh onions and capsicum , alas that didn't happen . the sauce for my lamb Bhuna must have come out of a tin - it was just a mess of bland puree and the lamb came complete with lumps of fat and sinew . yuk. my wife's Chicken Tikka Masala was no better , the chicken falling apart (re heated?) in a sauce the colour of old white emulsion paint . anyway , you get the picture . Sorry Royal but we will never darken you door again

This is one of the best curry restaurants I’ve ever been to. Fantastic Nepalese collection but featuring most of the Indian classics. Been several times and thought every single dish was amazing. Friendly service and very reasonably priced too!

The food here is lovely, lots of choice and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried. I want to love this restaurant, but the service lets the experience down every time. Every visit the same staff member has made us feel somewhat unwelcome - the last time they seemed to be laughing at our order with the chef. They joked about turning customers away who came in looking for a table. It made for a very uncomfortable time in a very small restaurant. Another waiter arrived later on who was lovely, I wished he had been there the whole time! Maybe a little more training is needed?

I’d been wanting to experience this restaurant for a while! I live locally and has tried their penang curry a couple of times as a takeaway but having my sister come to stay, I finally had a chance to experience eating in. It’s very small and cosy (I’m sure the table & chair right by the door is a fire hazard! 🙃) but it does have a nice warm and welcoming vibe. The waitress was lovely and the menu choices looked so good it was difficult to choose what to have. We ended up sharing the spring rolls & chicken gyoza to start, both were very very good! For mains, my sis had chicken pad Thai and I had prawns with ginger & spring onion. Both looked good but unfortunately we found both dishes to be strangely sweet. It was hard to describe but the sweetness ruined it a little for us which was a shame as we were very much looking forward to it. I will still try Siam town again, as I’m hoping it was just a one off? I really want to like this place so will definitely be giving it another go and trying some different dishes next time.

We really enjoyed our first time visit here. The lady that served us was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent. It was fresh and full of flavour and as far as I could tell it was very authentic. Prices reasonable and portion sizes were good. My only criticism was the lighting. It was way too bright, and this made it less cosy inside. But we shall definitely make this a regular place to dine.

Tried this restaurant with friends this afternoon. I ate dumplings, fried squid, fried rice noodles, and chicken skewers, they were so delicious! The dumplings are crispy, the flower branches are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the rice noodles are springy and not greasy. Chicken skewers are my favorite! Tender! Then that Satay is impeccable! You can’t eat it outside, it’s delicious! recommend! There is also the Jasmine Tea, which is very fragrant and is obviously different from other teas. Highly recommended authentic Malaysian cuisine! No compare to takeaways!!!
