Located close to Ashford United Football Club, those seeking a large and reasonably priced meal are assured of a warm welcome from the staff. The menu is imaginative and varied and the helpings big. There is parking close by and two large tables in front of the serving area. Recommended.

I still believe this is the best cafe in ashford and has been for the last year or so. It has got more expensive, but so has everywhere. The food is still good, the service has remained okay, and the choices on the menu is just as good. Personally, I’ve never had a bad breakfast here. The only thing I would like them to change is the mushrooms with the breakfast. The cafe used to serve small mushrooms that were delicious (and I’m not a mushroom fan), now they serve a large mushroom which has little flavour and is dripped in oil. Having said that, the fruit pot you get with the breakfast is a nice touch. To conclude, yes it’s more expensive a few things have changed, but it’s still the best in town by quite a distance!

Well, we may as well have moved in this week! We went for a cheeky lunch on Thursday and then dinner on two evenings, Christmas Eve and Christmas Eve,Eve. 😃🤶🎁 The food on both the festive menus was outstanding and the service from everyone was as friendly and welcoming as ever. Chef even gave us a portion of his delicious pickled cabbage to take home for our Christmas Dinner! Legend! We'll be back in the New Year! 😃

Our last visit to the hooden ditch. It's plain to see that the owners of the Hooden horse only care about profit and not customer satisfaction. My wife and I went for a meal on Monday 17/3 and it was evident that the company only buy the cheapest of the cheap food from their suppliers. I had the Monterey jack burger that was flavourless and disappointing and the chips had been double fried. My wife was really looking forward to the full monty mixed grill but, again, left wanting. The chicken was dry, the sausages were tasteless and we couldn't even cut the steak it was so fatty. Even the waitress could see me struggling to cut it for my wife. The only good thing was that the waitress offered to replace it ( I think she was probably a manager, as she seemed the only person to actually care )Thank you for offering to replace it. I should of known it was going to be another bad experience when I went to get the cutlery only to find it was grubby and smeary. Obviously too cheap to polish. We won't be returning as we want to spend our hard earned money on something we will actually enjoy. Now let's get ready for the generic unfelt response.

My wife is a big KFC fan, whilst I am very much indifferent to it, whilst being largely scathing about the sort of people that go to KFC. However, my wife convinced me that we should have KFC in our hotel room once our daughter was asleep, and as she agreed to run across Eureka Way to go and collect it, I reluctantly acquiesced. We had the larger pieces of chicken and some popcorn chicken, plus some creamy mash (we got two portions instead of the one that we paid for, so that was a bonus) and gravy. To my eternal surprise, it was actually really nice! Maybe my tiredness and hunger blurred my judgement, or maybe I have been wrong about KFC for all this time. The chicken was really good, the coating was tasty, the mash was very good, and the gravy was an inspired addition. It was so enjoyable that I might even be convinced to have it again - though it will be a cold day in Hell before I step foot in one of their actual stores.
