Hooden Smokehouse & Grill in Ashford

Well, we may as well have moved in this week! We went for a cheeky lunch on Thursday and then dinner on two evenings, Christmas Eve and Christmas Eve,Eve. 😃🤶🎁 The food on both the festive menus was outstanding and the service from everyone was as friendly and welcoming as ever. Chef even gave us a portion of his delicious pickled cabbage to take home for our Christmas Dinner! Legend! We'll be back in the New Year! 😃

The food was nice but not amazing the staff was very rude. Also charging me service charge and said it was on menu but on this menu clearly states no service charge. I asked for service charge back but told me he couldn’t as it already gone thru the till.

Difficult to fault. Came here for a family meal. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was flawless. A really nice place to go for a family meal or just a casual drink. Will be returning

A group of 17 went for Sunday lunch. Booked in advance. 2 items not available which was disappointing as I was looking forward to the steak and ale pie. Was told there was only one portion of creamy mash left when 2 people asked for the belly pork. Then they changed their mind and said they would make some more - weird. I had the chicken roast and asked for a side of cauliflower cheese. So did 2 more people ask for the cauliflower cheese. My chicken came out ( smallest chicken breast ever)and no cauliflower cheese for another 10 minutes! The other 2 people had aslo ate their roast beef dinner by the time it came out. I did say to the waitress that we would not be paying for the cauliflower cheese and she was ok with that. However this was not good enough as my dinner was cold waiting for the full dinner to come out. If you cannot cope with this amount of people at a table then don't book this amount and limit the people on a table to what you can cope with. The restaurant was not even full when we went. Quality of food was good but qty not so and if you ask for a side with your dinner make sure it comes out at the same time.

We love this place - the food's great, but the staff are even better! They always make you feel welcome, and that nothing is too much trouble for them - brilliant when you're eating out with young family who have complicated dietary requirements and ever-changing likes and dislikes.

Josh and Daisy we’re both brilliant and very welcoming and friendly, everything you hope to get when you visit a new restaurant for the first time. We had the Fajitas which were fantastic.!!! We will be back 😀
