Came across this pub when looking for somewhere to eat after not finding anywhere suitable in the Town Centre. So glad we did as the food and wine were delicious . We had the Curry specials and a steak burger which were all cooked beautifully. The pub interior has been renovated to a very high standard and a treat to find such nice toilets. We will visit again when next in Abergavenny on our travels from Dorset.

So pleased we found this little bakers while on a visit to Monmouth. The Cornish pasties are excellent, plenty of filling and just the right amount of seasoning. Were able to sit outside, with our dog, and chat to the friendly locals at the next table. The staff were great to :) Would definitely visit again if in the area!

The Sultan is a lovely place to eat with genuine great food. Some negativity on this site but from our experience, and we have been quite a few times, with family or individually, the food has been excellent and the dishes we have had are really flavoursome. Raj and Neha make you welcome and I would thoroughly recommend going there to experience their lovely cuisine. Let’s support them

We purchased some goodies from their stall during an event. The cob was rustic and delicious and the vegan sausage rolls are probably the best we've ever eaten. Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to try the yummy looking cakes because the dog stole them from the kitchen worktop. Due to the cake containing currants, we then had a horrible time at the vets waiting to see if this had impacted on her kidney function. I messaged the bakery for information about the ingredients of the cake and they were super helpful. They continued to show compassion and interest in the welfare of our pooch, who thankfully came out the other side healthy. They were even kind enough to offer us some free cake. Hoping we can visit in person one day.

I visited the Parva Farmhouse for dinner with a friend who was visiting. The small dining room was almost full and tables were well spaced out to allow relaxed conversation. The decor is tranquil and rustic. The food we had was exceptional! And the portions very generous. The chocolate mousse we shared for dessert was absolutely dreamy! There’s a good wine list and delicious cocktails available. All reasonably priced. I can’t wait to visit again

Excellent food and staff. Quick service and knowledge. Service is quick and you can pop in pub whilst waiting. A firm favourite with everyone

A very pleasant and spacious coffee shop enticed us inside. We were sadly left disappointed by our experience and a bit perplexed by the unnecessary rudeness of one of the staff members. The coffee shop was long and stretched far beyond what we could see from the street. There was seating outside but we ventured inside as it was a bit chilly and it is dog friendly inside. I ordered drinks and cakes. I was a little perplexed that the basic dog treats, which are often given out to dog owners for free, cost £1 each but I purchased one of these too. I was then told, despite having a table, to join a queue to wait for my coffee. I joined the queue of almost ten people waiting for my coffee. I decided to sit down and check back. I sat down and watched whilst my partner enjoyed their drink and cake and I sat waiting. I returned and still there was no sign of my coffee. I sat down and after returning a second time and still no coffee I went to the counter with my cake for a refund. There was a single person making coffee for the entire premises on one coffee machine. The serving staff were taking orders and getting paid and the orders were just building up. After a few minutes of not being served for my issue whilst staff continued to take coffee orders I went to the coffee dispensing area and to the person who had served and asked a refund. She was very rude and told me that the coffee which had conveniently been placed in the counter was mine. I declined it and asked for my refund. She asked if I wanted the cake to go, I declined. She told me she would have to throw it out, again unnecessarily rude. I would suggest this company hire another barista and buy another coffee machine and perhaps offer table service to prevent their customers paying premium prices and standing for 10/15 minutes waiting for their coffee. Maybe then they mightn’t have to throw their cake away. They might also consider some staff training for that member of staff who chooses to challenge a customer who merely wishes to eat their cake with their coffee and not have to wait 15 minutes for the privilege.

I’ve had a few breakfasts from here during the lockdown period; all been good, but this is the first time we did the share box between the 3 of us, my sons of 10 and 8 and me. It worked really well, and was suggested by the lady with whom I spoke. I rang through the order and breakfast arrived 20 minutes later – I live in Aber so free delivery; don’t know what the score is if you live in the surrounding villages. Lovely large pizza style box containing the main items: eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausages, toast; separate to this were: mushrooms, tomatoes and beans all in their own containers. Everything was well wrapped. We also ordered some extra toast. Everything nicely cooked, with very little going to waste. It was nice just placing the food in the middle of the table, and everybody helping themselves. Lovely treat to have during the Easter hols.

Great breakfast/brunch spot. Pleasant views. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food excellent: well chosen ingredients (sausages lovely) nicely prepared. Service with a smile. Parking easy and it is above an interesting shop. Family recommended, now I am telling you.

Unfortunately this meal was awful. The mixed grill was bland and the pork was bleeding. My partner had the ribs and it was flavourless and extremely fatty- very poor quality. The children shared a burger which was such a low quality meat it looks so processed. We brought it to the attention of the bar maid within 5 minutes of the meal- they were adamant to take the mixed grill and cook it but in fact we asked them not to and they still included it on the bill despite not eating it (£25!) The ribs were taken off the bill but it was such a poor experience. It makes sense that the restaurant was empty when we walked in. Very very poor quality food for not cheap prices and the celebratory meal we were hoping for.

Attentive staff, nice atmosphere and good sushi. Plenty of unagi (eel) which we love! Delicious fresh seaweed salad. What a treat to have a Japanese restaurant in our local town!

Very, very dry baguette, didn't seem fresh at all. So disappointing. Not much filling either. Won't be returning.

We were on a coach holiday from North West England staying at Symmonds Yat. Chepstow was on the itinerary for a couple of hours stop.We were dropped off at the main bus station. We asked a local lady for a recommendation for a decent coffee / snack. She suggested a visit to The Palmer Centre cafe. What a fabulous little gem we found it to be. The place has a loving calm atmosphere, very clean and comfortable. The staff were excellent- friendly & welcoming to strangers ,waitress service a bonus. Food & drink excellent quality for a good price. plus outstanding washroom facilities. Would highly recommend to anyone who is visiting Chepstow to call in for a Palmer centre Cafe experience & give support to a worthwhile community facility
