This is our new go to restaurant in Abergavenny. Beautifully decorated. Friendly, attentive staff. We asked to sit in the spacious back station to avoid the proximity of small children & we had the most pleasurable lunch. We ordered a selection of dishes that we shared between us in a tapas way. The prawns were a triumph. The cooked cheese needs a rethink but everything else was amazing. Food came out in good time & the servers were charming. We look forward to being back soon.

Attended this venue when visiting elderly relatives in the area, it was a second visit. The food is excellent, the staff were attentive enough without being over the top. They were very accommodating and while we were there for some time there was not feeling of being rushed. The venue is also excellent with short stay parking nearby. All in all good food, good location, excellent staff, a great experience that we expect to repeat on our next visit to the area.

Huge place, nicely laid out and wonderfully firendly and attentive staff. Unforunately the pasta in the tortellini was really thick, which made it a bit claggy and unpleasent to eat, which was a shae as the sauce and the filling were delicious. Pazza was pizza, thogh a bit heavy on the salt. Not terrible but a frustrating near miss to being really good.

I’m guessing the chef has a Tuesday night off as both the starters and the mains for all five of us were extremely poor. It felt very much like that will do it looks almost the same as when chef cooks it

we have used this restaurant twice over the past few weeks for a family lunch and a larger evening meal for 11. The menu was varied, covering all diets & tastes, the puddings were amazing. Prices are average but the portions are really generous. The service was impeccable, attentive but not intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. would definitely recommend this restaurant for any kind of celebration or just for a weekday lunch or diner.

Had calamari and a four cheese pizza. As someone who visits Italy regularly I was not disappointed. If you are in Abergavenny Amo's is well worth a visit.

Excellent meal. Very good service. Will definitely go there again. Cuisine is greek/italian and there were some unusual touches.

Had a lovely family dinner here. The staff were professional and attentive. There was plenty of choice on the menu for vegetarians and vegans and a cocktail menu. The food was delicious. We will definitely back!

Really enjoyed the food (I ordered a house white, duck breast as starter and Risotto Milanese as main. Sadly no time to have dessert). The staff were great.

The venue itself is lovely, offering outstanding views of the river and a warm, welcoming atmosphere upon entry. The staff are friendly and attentive, with plenty of smiles, which adds to the overall experience. Unfortunately, the food falls short of expectations and feels overpriced for the quality provided. While I’m happy to pay more for good food, I expect it to deliver on flavor and value. The seafood pizza, which I’ve tried twice (hoping for improvement), was bland and rubbery, far from the standard I’ve enjoyed in other Italian restaurants or in Italy itself. My wife’s lamb shank was similarly underwhelming, lacking flavor. Desserts were another letdown—particularly the tiramisu, which was heavy on cream and light on the coffee-soaked biscuits, making it a far cry from the authentic Italian version. While the meatballs were enjoyable, the sauce was again bland, and the portion was unbalanced, with too much dry pasta and too few meatballs. Overall, while the venue is charming, the food lacks the freshness and vibrancy you’d expect from Italian cuisine. It’s a disappointing contrast to the beautiful setting.

Lovely shop, lovely people. Great shop to have local, that sells mostly local produce. Psst the milk is great!
