Great breakfast/brunch spot. Pleasant views. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food excellent: well chosen ingredients (sausages lovely) nicely prepared. Service with a smile. Parking easy and it is above an interesting shop. Family recommended, now I am telling you.

We are so glad to have found Nellie's coffee shop! My husband and I have been several times for their breakfast menu. Each time the service is fantastic with really lovely, friendly and chatty staff. The food is absolutely delicious, with so much choice and is such a reasonable price. The atmosphere is lovely - warm and welcoming. Our new favourite spot!

We've been here several times, usually just for coffee/tea/cake, but on our recent visit I tried the scrambled eggs: They were over-cooked and dry with apparently no seasoning... Scrambled eggs should be taken off the heat before they're fully cooked so that they finish cooking in their own heat and thus remain soft and slightly creamy. Now to more positive aspects... a spacious airy cafe with good staff. Very dog-friendly, they have a photo wall with their dog customers' photos, also close to the Wales Coastal footpath if you want to take your dog for a walk. Outside balcony area which is very pleasant in suitable weather. See my photos for menu details.

We were recommended to visit Nellies as they have a dog menu for our furry friends. The human food there was excellent and there were no complaints from the dogs either. We visited on two occasions during our stay locally and will be back again when next in the area

What a great find! Came off the Severn Bridge and spotted this place off the roundabout. Called in on my way to Somerset and on my way back. Sandwiches freshly prepared, pasties were lovely and great coffee. Staff were also so kind and let us off the price of a coffee when my mum under ordered! Busy on both visits which speaks volume. Will definitely be back.

Spoiled by two things. Firstly, the cafe was very cold and secondly there were very limited lactose free milk options for teas or coffees

Nice little cafe after a dog walk, dog enjoyed the doggy menu. I had veggie breakfast could have been slightly warmer and not keen on tinned potatoes , husband enjoyed his breakfast. Will be back to try some more options.

A great cafe for light lunches we can highly recommend jacket potato with chilli. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A sign at the bottom of the road would be very useful it took me a while to find their car park but we'll worth it for the lovely food. Will definitely be returning soon.

Deservedly popular coffee shop. Good quality breakfast/lunch, friendly and efficient service. Lift access and parking for disabled.

Dirty cutlery. Dirty crockery. Tepid cheese jacket that wasn't hot enough to melt a single piece of the rubbery cheese. Nothing good to say about it. I cannot in all honesty recommend this place to anyone.

A great little gem in Chepstow. Fantastic service with amazing views across Chepstow. Amazing food with great variety of choice. Only downside is that their are no ‘standard’ range drinks ie coke, fanta etc. However that doesn’t affect the fantastic venue and staff they have here

What a great hidden gem! Walked over the Severn Bridge from Aust and decided to call into Nellie’s (first floor of the Wye Valley Country Store) for a drink and something to eat. Extensive menu and reasonable prices. Great coffee and selection of cakes and light bite savouries. Friendly and helpful staff and clean facilities. Lovely balcony outside to enjoy the Autumn lunchtime sun. Will definitely visit Nellie’s again when in Chepstow again. (Note: if travelling by car, the Wye Valley Country Store and Nellie’s are accessed through the small industrial estate at the side of B&M Superstore).

Called in here following a recommendation and we weren’t disappointed. Iced coffee was great and so were the sandwiches, great choice and price too. I opted for the prawn and avocado sandwich on granary which was bursting with filling and great soft bread too, served with crisps and salad. We’ll definitely be back to try the breakfast and cakes too as a good selection. The outside balcony looks fab for finer weather and I did notice a basket of blankets you can take out. Cafe also has a menu for dogs and a photo gallery of its dog visitors, free parking outside in the country store car park. Wandering round the country store below made an interesting change too.

Delicious breakfast! Staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of space and a great view, don’t be put off it’s above the country store as it’s a lovely cafe well worth a visit. Got a nice relaxed atmosphere and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. Good range of choice on the human menu and even a dogs menu too. Will be visiting again.

9 of us for dinner. Just as well we had booked as the place was rammed! No surprises why! We had a fantastic meal. I think we had the best waitress I've ever experienced and the landlord and his wife/partner put in a good shift as well and obviously the chefs. What amazed me most was I could see into the kitchen and there only appeared to be 2 people in there and I didn't hear a raised word all the time I was there! Anyway top marks Hall Inn, we all loved the experience. My wife and I live in York and we will be definately coming back when we next visit.

Took my sales team here for lunch, 10 of us in total. The food is incredible and you certainly won’t go hungry. Everyone at the pub is friendly and can’t do enough for you. Feels like a good old fashioned boozer set in an amazing position on the Wye. Everyone only had good things to say about the place. Steak is a specialty here. No hesitation in recommending the Rose and Crown. Thanks all who looked after us that day.

Lovely Irish landlady was extremely accommodating to me & my two boys.. Service was how service used to be before the big pub chains took over everything… Food was brilliant.. Had to have the bread pudding as haven’t had it since I was a kid.. took me right back! Definitely recommend and will return 👌🏼

We shared 6 Vegetable dishes for lunch today, plus a pud, and every mouthful was sensational. The dishes were complex and delicious, and very satisfying. It is difficult to find good vegetarian food that I can’t cook equally well at home. These dishes really were better than anything I’ve cooked, and there was plenty of choice. Plenty of choice for carnivores too. The chefs really know how to squeeze the maximum flavour out of every ingredient. The celeriac dish was my favourite , but we couldn’t decide which was our second favourite plate of deliciousness. We’ll be back.

Just had fish bites and chips. Absolutely stunning!! The inside of the chips were fluffy and soft and the fish tasted so good. Will definitely call in again
