Coffi Lab Abergavenny in Monmouthshire

Exceptionally noisy, and dogs barking. The coffee was ok, the food 'focaccia' was not well constructed, and the warming was very poor; one side was hard as it had been dried out. The chocolate muffin was delicious. Personally, I don't like animals (dogs) where food is being prepared or consumed. The staff was great. I would not have used Coffi Lab had I known it was dog-friendly.

I usually go here when I am in Abergavenny for a coffee and I order an oat milk latte. Today, as usual I did the same. Walking back to the car I tasted the coffee and the oat milk had gone off - it was very sour and unpleasant. I went back to the shop and kindly told the girl behind the counter that the oat milk was off and please could I have a fresh one and specified I would like a newly opened oat milk. I figured they would want to know if they are selling out of date milk. The two ladies behind the counter began talking about me as if I wasn’t there and acted as though I was lying? To which the one said to the other ‘just give her the same milk’. They made me a fresh one, but once again it was sour, unpleasant and made me feel sick for the rest of the day. I am extremely disappointed about the lack of professionalism and the fact they had continued to serve gone off milk! I will not be returning.

What a fab dog-friendly cafe. Fab food and soooo dog friendly!! It’s so good to find somewhere where sitting inside with your dogs is such a pleasant experience… They’ll even bring your coffee and food to you if it looks like your dog may pull you and the tray over! Will definitely visit again when in Aber.

A very pleasant and spacious coffee shop enticed us inside. We were sadly left disappointed by our experience and a bit perplexed by the unnecessary rudeness of one of the staff members. The coffee shop was long and stretched far beyond what we could see from the street. There was seating outside but we ventured inside as it was a bit chilly and it is dog friendly inside. I ordered drinks and cakes. I was a little perplexed that the basic dog treats, which are often given out to dog owners for free, cost £1 each but I purchased one of these too. I was then told, despite having a table, to join a queue to wait for my coffee. I joined the queue of almost ten people waiting for my coffee. I decided to sit down and check back. I sat down and watched whilst my partner enjoyed their drink and cake and I sat waiting. I returned and still there was no sign of my coffee. I sat down and after returning a second time and still no coffee I went to the counter with my cake for a refund. There was a single person making coffee for the entire premises on one coffee machine. The serving staff were taking orders and getting paid and the orders were just building up. After a few minutes of not being served for my issue whilst staff continued to take coffee orders I went to the coffee dispensing area and to the person who had served and asked a refund. She was very rude and told me that the coffee which had conveniently been placed in the counter was mine. I declined it and asked for my refund. She asked if I wanted the cake to go, I declined. She told me she would have to throw it out, again unnecessarily rude. I would suggest this company hire another barista and buy another coffee machine and perhaps offer table service to prevent their customers paying premium prices and standing for 10/15 minutes waiting for their coffee. Maybe then they mightn’t have to throw their cake away. They might also consider some staff training for that member of staff who chooses to challenge a customer who merely wishes to eat their cake with their coffee and not have to wait 15 minutes for the privilege.

This is our go to place when visiting Abergavenny. The atmosphere is lovely as are the staff. Great coffee and the sandwiches are really tasty and well priced. We love seeing all the well behaved dogs as well. Such a friendly, relaxing place.

We decide to return to a Coffilab as we had such a good experience a few days earlier in Monmouth It was to the same high standard, staff were polite and helpful. Again a delicious Oatmeal Latte, gorgeous Americano and two amazing toasted sandwiches. If you"ve read my other reviews you will know my main objection is sticky tables. The cleanliness here was outstanding.

Great cafe. Nice food, coffee and feel to the whole place. Like a high street chain but ten times better so choose here instead. Very dog friendly with a fab ‘menu’ of things on offer for furry visitors!

Fantastic coffee and sour dough panini. I like it, will be back, with my dog. It is just a very nice atmosphere.

I love love love this place, spend half my life and half my income there recently and am more than happy to do that as the Team are a real credit to the company, super friendly, very professional and the product is outstanding, best coffee this side of Italy ( and I lived there so know ) BUT I went in today and was sooooooo disappointed with the Christmas Tree decorations ☹️ The place, decor and ambience are so classy and I was expecting the same from the tree but was left feeling how miserable the tree looked ( sorry guys, I luv you and everything else but miserly tree ! )

Busy but lovely hot coffee, good room between tables so dogs were not interested in other dogs, lovely selection of hot drinks no extra charge for alternative milks always a bonus

They serve the best flat white coffee! A nice spacious, dog friendly café. The staff are always friendly. The food is a little pricey though.

This was our first visit for coffee, juice and breakfast. We were so impressed with everything - friendly, prompt service; a well considered interior; excellent food/coffee. We really enjoyed our time here and will be back. Highly recommend.

As I have said many times before …great visit again today…..I don’t think I have said before but I am disabled and use a wheel chair…my husband and I are always greeted with happy smiley faces …always welcomed and the staff are always on hand if needed…. This is a great team always working together and no one standing around doing nothing …the tables are always cleared as soon as possible , always difficult if staff are busy serving . So ….don’t change a thing great to have such a happy friendly team as things are today . Great visiting …M.& S ………..

Ok so I am gonna be honest I am a confirmed Nero’s customer in Abergavenny but was forced to go in to Coffi lab and now I am gonna have to change my habits as the Gingerbread Latte I had yesterday and again today was in the Top 3 latte’s I have ever had ! And they are super generous with the extras that accompany the Gorgeous Toasted Teacakes Well done and special mention to the 2 staff on yesterday who were so welcoming and friendly - huge 👍 from me, a definite new regular.

We visit every Sunday morning if .possible ….it is so friendly ,great coffee and always clean …….we also love seeing all the dogs and like to make a fuss of them …. Can’t fault it thank you …..M. And S …Brecon …….

The food and drinks were nice. We also appreciated being able to bring our dog with us and the tables were well spaced. Unfortunately the staff were disorganised and aloof towards their customers. When we arrived we had to clear our own table (which was one of at least four that needed doing).

Went for a mid-morning break recently. The service was slow, the coffee not very warm, the cakes indifferent and overpriced, and the music too loud. I guess dogs are less critical and dog friendliness seems to be the selling point.

Having visited Coffi Lab in Monmouth the day before we decided to try the Abergavenny branch and were not disappointed. Delightful staff and excellent coffee in a friendly and clean environment. Again - thoroughly recommended.

Turned down a dirty table at the window to retreat to the back of the shop. Sat down to discover the table full of crumbs as well as the table next door. Not acceptable in these times, especially as the shop was extremely quiet with...

Called in here for coffee and a slice of cake on a Saturday morning. What a find. From the warm welcome fom the staff to the coffee and great cakes and to welcome dogs as well was a bonus.

Very blessed to have popped to the pre-opening of Coffi Lab Abergavenny! The coffee/cakes are fantastic - fresh and yummy! Lovely ambiance, very friendly and helpful staff and classy branding and decor. There’s plenty of space and a lovely little court yard out the back...
