Popped in for lunch on a Saturday after visiting castle. Dog friendly, they were very busy due to Chepstow Racecourse sessions. But food was good and the light meals were generous portions and reasonably priced. We had the Blanchbait and the Pathways both very good.

Popped in for a drink while visiting Chepstow with my wife. Got served quickly by a very friendly barman who coaxed us into trying a new cocktail. What can I say?! Easily the best cocktail I've ever had, by a long shot, it literally tasted like Gods vagina. If you're a fan of superior cocktails, a proper pub atmosphere, and amazing music, this is definitely the place for you. Amazing service, spotlessly clean toilets and amazing views of the castle from the beer garden.

Decent valued local locals pub. It felt a little quiet and a little clicky when we entered but the barmaid was very polite and welcoming. They have a dukebox and pool table. Only real negative was on one occasion I had to wait nearly 10 minutes for a pint, even though the pub was almost completely empty, and I had been noticed, and twice told "I'll be with you in a minute". But without knowing the ins and outs of how the place is ran I can put that down to being a minor inconvince and wouldn't stop me coming back again

Stayed in Chepstow for 7 nights & fortunately came in here on our second night so that negated the need to look any further. Many pubs were like this when we were younger but now they are a collector's item. Old building, one table out front. On entry, serving bar to your front & a recessed window to either side frontage with a table & chair's in. A fireplace with stove next to the bigger table. Unvarnished parquet flooring for a bit but stone flags elsewhere in a series of narrow levels. Black/ Brown wood & beams, plaster in rich lemon yellow & a virulent dark green. Knocked about wooden chairs & tables plus some well-worn bar stools & a couple of circular wooden tables on metal pillar's. Comprehensive juke box. Beer mats on walls. Pool table & dart's at far end. No food apart from nuts, crisps & nibbles. Bog's adequate & fairly wholesome & a metal door giving access to steps leading to a larger than expected garden with a view of the castle. Dogs welcome. Beer & lager in good condition, not vast range but o. k. Clientele very friendly & interesting, service likewise. Some amusing conversation to be had. Live music occurs at weekends. If you like pubs & not pale imitations, look no further.

Another enjoyable visit to the Holland Arms. Usual friendly welcome and great service. We shared a duck starter from the specials board, amazing, especially the sauce. We then had lamb and steak as our mains. Both meats were delicious as were the accompanying vegetables. Good choice of wine (I enjoyed the Malbec). Couldn’t resist a bread and butter pudding for dessert - even though full. Look forward to our next visit - probably one of the Christmas meals now being advertised. Very reasonable bill.
