Sunday Lunch was amazing. Can't wait to go back. Very welcoming staff . Wish this was my local would be there all the time.

Excellent in every way..service - prepared to change elements of the meal on the menu. Beautifully cooked . My steak was perfection. Not just on one visit but on several of late (we are local) And a super environment too from conservatory, restaurant proper to bar with wonderful inglenook open fire at this time of year. Thank you The star!

Looking for really good food and a welcoming and cosy pub for a meal out this Christmas? The Leedam Natural Burials team had a fabulous meal at the Star on the Hill, Llansoy on Friday. So many of our guests said it was the best yet. Give them a try! We're definitely going back.

Was recommended by freind. However o did not enjoy my experience. I had sunday lunch. Beef was not cooked enough. No one came around to ask if the meal was OK. Waitresses were just stood around. We didn't have pudding due to the fact no one came to our table to ask us. We asked for the bill and left won't be back

Booked a table for 11 people, young and old, for a surprise celebration on a Saturday evening. Nothing was too much trouble. Service fabulous, food scrummy, staff friendly, atmosphere cosy. Christmas Decorations very classy and made the Conservatory a magical room to eat in. Didn't realise before hand, but there was fabulous entertainment on the night by singer Jim Ramsey & Dave Williams on Cajon. They sang new and old, an excellent addition to our celebratory evening. Would highly recommend.

What a fabulous lunch we had at the Star on the Hill. All our meals were beautifully cooked, the best chips I’ve ever tasted. The spices in my chicken curry were balanced and full of flavour. Some other meals my friends had were the gammon, sausage and mash,and a choice of vegetarian/ vegan dishes. The sticky toffee pudding was excellent as was the tart tatin. We would definitely return and perhaps try Sunday lunch next time.

I have been a few times for Sunday lunch and it has been fantastic every time. The food is excellent (particularly the beef dinner!) and it was a warming and cosy atmosphere. The staff are always super friendly and attentive and I would 100% recommend a visit!

Fabulous Sunday Roast. On a cold, wet November day, we were delighted to have a cosy table for two next to the amazing open fire.

Open fire to die for, absolutely wonderful steak probably the best I've had cooked for me , and the peppercorn sauce was wonderful , please thank the chef 🙂 service was also very good.

4 friends met for an informal reunion there, and it was the perfect venue. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food and drink were good in all respects, the venue was pleasant with a good atmosphere but quiet enough to have a good long talk, and without piped music (thank goodness). It is set midst stunning views, and though out in the country is on a good road with a good car park. Recommend it!
