Stopped for a pint while walking the dog along the river , very dog friendly and a nice pint of Guinness , will be even better when they finish the foot bridge over the river.

Mother’s Day. High tariff £30 2 courses. 40 min wait for starter 70min for mains + ingredients not as stated vegetarian meal worst for lack of vegetables but mains lacking too. Not a lot of meat on the plate. Front of house did their best to chivvy kitchen staff but to no avail.

We stopped off while walking back from town to the Premier Inn. Sadly food was not being served on the Monday night - however we enjoyed a couple of drinks in the sunshine while watching the river run by maybe next time we will time it better and try some grub.

We were on a canal holiday with Beacon Park Boats, and moored at Llanfoist to look for a pub for early evening meal. We walked down the cycle route from Llanfoist towards Abergavenny and came across The Bridge Inn after a 15 min walk down from the canal. This was the fastest, cheapest and best meal we had out of 5 pubs/cafes visited during our holiday. Lasagne was excellent and crispy bacon on the stacked burger was very tasty. Simple menu, done well, proper pub grub plus baguettes etc. Plenty of tables outside looking over the river and bridge, and inside looked nice too. Location was also particularly handy for canal holidaymakers as the walk back is past Waitrose to pick up supplies.

The Bridge has new management called Will and Georgia and they have certainly rung in some improvements since taking over. The best is that the food menu has been reinstated and Sunday lunch with three courses of fabulous. We’d advise booking a table in advance as space is limited but this pub is a great place to relax by the river Usk and Castle Meadows of Abergavenny

Our two vegetarian friends staying with us for the New Year really loved the food and the location of this pub by the river. This was only our second time of eating here but definitely won't be the last. The service was excellent, the chef really cares about people enjoying the food and came to check personally to ensure everything was okay - it was! The food was served fresh, hot and was really good value for money. The real ale is well kept and the staff are really friendly. A great start to the New Year. I would highly recommend this Inn after a walk along the canal.

Attended The Bridge Inn as pub 1 on son's stag, all sober. They put on lunch for 12 and all the staff from waitresses to Chef Gareth couldn't do enough for us. Of the following eight pubs in Abergavenny this is one I would definitely revisit. Thanks to all.

First meal here, everyone said it's the place to go, and they weren't wrong! Sunday roast was really good, but the starter was excellent, when we sent compliments to the chef, Gareth(the chef we later discovered )brought out the recipe! Excellent food, excellent service, couldn't do enough for us

A nice pub that serves a wide range of local ales, however I will not eat there again. I stopped there after two hard days of walking across surrounding hills and mountains and I ordered beef roast and a pint of Blorenge Golden Ale. A nicely presented meal with lots of vegetable and gravy, but the meat was almost raw, very very undercooked, and that really did spoiled my appetite for the rest of the day. I did enjoy the pint.

Just spent a wonderful evening catching up with friends in The Bride Inn in Abergavenny. What lovely people ! The landlord and lady were so accomadating- nothing was too much trouble, even when my friend mentioned she was disappointed her favourite pie wasn't on that day they said next time to let them know we were going and they'd make it especially for her. Now that is fantastic service! The food was fabulous and it won't be too long before we go again x

No frills just honest pub food from this wonderful riverside location. We are locals returning for a brief visit despite having lived away from Abergavenny for nearly 40 years. The best compliment we can pay The Bridge, is that within minutes we felt like regulars!Huge portions and good food.

Lovely quaint pub but too small inside and dark for a large function like a wedding. Glad they had the marque outside but needed more seating areas in and out for the amount of guests

Doesn't seem very inviting from the outside and, first impressions of the inside are of a rather tired premises but.........you then get a very friendly welcome ( never been here before), a welcome for the dogs and a nice menu, well cooked and tasty. With friendly locals as well this is exactly the first pub you want to visit in Wales if you have just come over the border. No complaints.
