The best restaurants in Cardiff South Wales

I've walked past this place a million times, and it was time for a visit. The menu is a thing of beauty. Simple and effective images. The main was £13:50 for the Chicken Karaage. Decent. I'll be back.

Our family Christmas dinner this year was at the New House Hotel and it was a lovely experience for which I feel compelled to leave this recommendation, I have special dietary requirements and the chef went above and beyond to assist even at this very hectic time and I can’t thank the chef and his team enough the whole experience was perfect we have already booked for Christmas 2025 and recommend this Hotel to anyone thinking of booking a special Christmas lunch.

Visited 11/11/24 @ 11am. Great little independent Cafe in city center. Brilliant service. Lovely food and drink. Will be coming again when in Cardiff.

My favourite place to eat! Deliciously authentic veg Indian food, service and atmosphere, I seek Maruti's out every time I'm passing through Cardiff. Highly recommend a thali or dosa, and the Dal Kachouri are the best I've ever tasted

A great local pub, it seems to be a stop for me when I am in Grangetown, such friendly staff and amazing atmosphere.

Sunday lunch with the family. Service is very over powering with too many staff on top of you when serving the table food. Very uncomfortable feeling. Food is bland. Baby potatoes hard , not enjoyable. Suggest pee's and mash! ( at a cost understandably) Roast potatoes very chewy and feel and taste like they've been finished off deep fat frier. Deserts bland with lack of texture and taste. Sadly its a no no from the family .

Freezing cold venue, even hot tea didnt warm me up!

The dom yam gung spicey prawn soup was delicious, packed with flavour. Lamb massamam curry was also tasty, although the lamb a little dried out. There is no cutting back on the Thai style ingredients at this restaurant.

We had a lovely experience at Browns today. The food was very good, the ambience was festive and fun, and the service was great. We were looked after by Simon, who made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. He was friendly, helpful and professional. We will return.

The brunch has been fabulous, amazing ambiance, amazing service from Yulia. She was so attentative. I had a lovely Eggs Benedict with Avocado.

Awesome Sunday Lunch! Beef was melt in the mouth gorgeous! We enjoyed the ambience and our male server was very helpful and provided great customer service we would highly recommend! We will return to try the afternoon tea next time!

Had our wedding here in October this year it was perfect the venue was beautiful the staff amazing so helpful really made our day less stressful they couldn't do enough for us. The food was stunning all our guests commented on the food and still talk about it now. Not one guest has said anything bad about our day or venue. Would highly recommend canada lodge and lake not just for weddings as also been to their pizza night and loved it.

Staff was very friendly and efficient, the food TopClass and plenty of choice we have used the restaurant before and always get the same results

Really nice little bar, has really fun games and good staff. Student discount available on certain drinks. Just a good vibe all in all.
