Chaiiwala in Cardiff

I went to first time , all good but inside is small , custumers speaking very loudly.you cant hear your friend

Falooda disgusting taste when I said to staff it’s not tasty cream is disgusting she says that’s what we make it 😡 she did not intend to offer me other one or she did not even made an effort to satisfy a customer disgusting I wouldn’t refer anyone to come Chaiiwala again.

Excellent Dal and roti accompanied by cheese & onion omelette. Man serving was lovely asking me to try the drinks before I purchased. Brilliant Cardiff breakfast, Thankyou xx

I would like to extend my heart felt gratitude to chaiwala for my experience recently. I was on my night shift when I went in to grab a cup of tea. The person on the counter did not charge me for my cup of tea when he saw me in my scrubs. Thank you for appreciating nhs workers . I have always enjoyed dining in with my family and we love your tea.

The food was really dry as if the chickens were cooked many days ago. Also, the delivery time took way more than expected. What a waste of time and money.

The atmosphere was really good.The staffs are really friendly. Keep an eye on the cup lids,those ones are not very friendly😂

Everything is fine chai is tasty but recently they have increased the price as compared to them chai at Nafees bakery opposite to caiiwala is more aromatic and nice plus cheap with same amount just £2 . And desi breakfast I was expecting that would be homade parathas but they were just dawn parathas with tasteless chanay chickpeas and omlette so got disappointed.

Chaiiwala is a great place to be. The atmosphere and food is top notch with service being speedy and reliable. Would definitely recommend coming with family and friends to try out their new menu too!

Love chai wala however cleanliness is really important to me. The toilet is a disgrace. Its obvious men/boys stand and do their business. Splash urine all around the toilet seat and god forbid goes on the floor. The sink is dirty. Its a real big let down. If there were antibacterial wipes or sprays i could at-least clean it for myself but i have to always go and ask at the till for some sort of cleaning detergent. They are happy to clean it for u then. But really it should be checked hourly if the toilet and sink basin are clean. Thats where all the germs are stored and then spread! Just feel the basin has layers and layers of dirt??? Next time i will add photos! Otherwise it is my number 1 stop for chai!

Esta fue mi primera vez en Chaiiwala en City Road y realmente disfruté de mi desayuno. Una buena señal era que Chaiiwala estaba ocupado justo después de las 10 am. Pedí la tortilla Masala con chile en un bollo. Estaba muy sabroso. Totalmente recomendable. La presentación fue excelente. La señora que me sirvió fue muy amigable. Sin duda volvería para probar algo más de su menú.

Don't ever have cheese grilled paratha, you might loose your teeths while chewing it. Yesterday i ordered it on uber. The gajar halwa is also worst. Thw only thing worrh having is bombay sandwich.

The best coffee so far - closest to the one I have at home. Tried their counter parts in London but the coffee in the branch in London is not the same ie not as nice.

The tea served here is second to none. Highly recommended.

I have not received my food. I let the courier know that I'd ordered to the wrong address - my fault - but they ignored all my messages despite having seen them.

"Disappointing experience at Chaiwala! We're regular customers and love their food, but our recent visit was a letdown. We ordered the samosa chat, but unfortunately, found an insect in our food! We immediately brought it to the team's attention, but they brushed it off, claiming it was just a spice. We know what we saw, and it was definitely an insect. While we've had great experiences here before, this incident has left a bad taste. We hope Chaiwala takes food quality and hygiene more seriously to prevent such incidents in the future.

Worst experience: So that was my last time at chaiwala as i experienced something unexpected as i was being treated very rudely, the tall guy on the till who handed me a cup of tea and I believe his action was quite inappropriate also he used his hand to to keep me on waiting when asked to take my order, as he could have have been told me politely to wait. However, I want the owner to take a deep look into it and avoid customers being treated this way by guiding his/their employees. I hope nobody ever get treated this way otherwise, customers have many more places to eat. Make customers feel valued on thier visit. Many thanks!

Mini doughnuts are not good would not recommend them but aloe paratha with there mint chutney and yogurt sauce is very good would recommend overall is not bad but is Nat amazing

I had a chicken tikka wrap. Absolutely delicious. Made freshly for me. Absolutely brilliant. The gentleman who served me was friendly. Kind and helpful. I had a free sample of chai tea and a free sample of the coffee. Coffee is the one I went for lovely. Will definitely return again. Thank you.

they should notify us on the app that delivery would take longer. Food was great but had to reheat in the oven before having it.

Food was delicious and fresh. The food came within 5-10 minutes and the strawberry lassi in particular was absolutely delicious. I’m always apprehensive about franchise places but this branch (Cardiff) were prompt, fresh and delicious. Another point was their fry up wasn’t drenched in oil. Quality food.

Ordered beans, dal and chana and got beans beans and dal for desi breakfast, they need to employ people who can READ the order and not give incorrect takeaway food, £4 for 2 portions of beans, how many beans can one person eat, not the first time I been given incorrect order but when u got parking on double yellow lines u trust they are giving u wat u ordered, deffo not happy so make sure u check ur order before u leave

Whoever said in reviews the Karak Chai is not authentic has never tried Indian tea. This is as close as it gets. Pair that with extremely delicious savoury options and you have got one of the best breakfast places at an affordable price. Shout-out to the guy serving us. Really nice person.

Absolutely fantastic food. Everything was amazing. My only criticism is I wish the allergens were listed on the website to make it a bit easier. The dessert I ordered had nuts sprinkled on top- luckily I noticed before my partner ate any.

Food and drinks and nice as usual but they don’t provide free water to paying customers.

We popped in after months to get a tea and we saw they now do mini donuts so we bought those with chocolate. If anyone was thinking about buying them don’t bother they were refried balls of crust and oil and one drop of chocolate. Absolute waste for £6.50 we used to love the Nutella wraps but they became so stingy with the Nutella we would have to pay an extra £1.50 to get an actual amount in there. Not worth it at all.

Always best for the tea but sometimes it’s watery . I don’t know why but compared to chai green and karak chai my fav place for chai . Love the aroma of the chai . Recommend karak tea.

Service is good, Food is always hot, get it before school. Chaiiwala is a incredible way to start the day. Love the selection of both drinks & way of using bread. Love the drinks and Ice cream. Looking forward to my next visit.

I am very disappointed I didnt receive my order and the shop didnt help me with anything.

I am a regular customer of Chaiiwala Cardiff branch but my last visit (6/4/2024) was far from ideal. The restaurant was pretty full yet there was no one manning the tills. Normally there is a bell at the counter which you can ding to grab attention but this was missing as well. I called a few times to be served but there was no response. Unfortunately my love of chaii was too great to walk out so in my last attempt to get lucky to be served I reluctantly took the liberty to walk across the unsecured counter to grab attention. I was instantly met with attitude instead of an apology for giving priority to your phone (Yes! I saw you on your phone) rather than customer service. You should know the competition for Chaii is fierce on city road, now more than ever and there is no shortage of "Chaiiwalas" anymore. I will be taking my custom elsewhere from now on and I won't be visiting this branch anymore. PS: Chaiiology across the road provides a much better customer experience.

If you love Indian Street food and that taste go for it you will never get disappointed. Tried Panipuri , Samosa chat, loaded fries with chicken, chicken tikka roll, butter chicken roll,Karakk chai, all in its authentic taste

Our takeaway meals were missing condiments which formed part of the meal on the menu. Instead of yogurt to go with the Parata it was a watery mint sauce. The cut Parata was the size of my hand but cunningly cut up to disguise all these short cuts. Didn’t notice until we got home. Felt like we were shafted and disrespected. Don’t serve food if you can’t do it fairly and give the customer what they pay for.

No lactose free milk..30p each for anything on the omelette...

I ordered at 1 in the morning so can't really complain about items being forgotten but still my buttered chicken never got delivered or my J2o but the food is amazing but my tongue is on fire amazing food though I loved it would have rather had my chocolate caramel shortbread not melted and loved to have received my buttered chicken and J2o Uber eats is a rip off as well only get refunded 1 item and I found out they put their own prices on and charge service fee

very delayed, the food was cold and hard. I ordered a bunch of random items from here it all tasted the same. food was over cooked / fried and hard to chew. portions were tiny, felt very greasy and cold. the black and white packaging was aesthetic and it looked good it just didn't taste good. never have a great experience when ordering I must pick dreadful places. either that or the restaurants don't care for take aways so much.

Butter chicken wrap is poor, I didn't even feel like I had chicken wrap.masala omelet wrap is a tasteless wrap. Chai is very good. Overall I had a bad experience.

It's absolutely terrible. First of all, they promote false advertising. For example, a chicken roll is advertised with lots of filling and season and is the size of a large burrito, however, in reality, it is 10x smaller and costs an extortionate amount. Next, the chicken roll has no seasoning what so ever up to the point that you dont know whether you are eating chicken or being scammed and eating baby food. I won't be visiting here due to my terrible experience and will not be recommending this place to anyone as well!

Food and tea are average, some crazy markups on some of the food as well. There are enough lights in this place to power a nuclear station as well, maybe I’m getting old but the acoustics in this place are so bad you can barely hear yourself speak in there as well.

Absolutely love the place been a very devoted customer ever since Chaiiwala Cardiff opened its doors. Very humble staff, spot on food. However, I felt bad to see a young child working on Wednesday this week in the evening, really sad to see such an established organisation having 10yr olds at work.

I've developed a bit of an addiction for a weekly desi breakfast. I always have the daal and wow, it is just the best daal ever! Try the Mogo chips - they are delicious!
