Great portion sizes, very tasty chips and lovely staff! And opening hours are perfect for us!

Swimming into bigger things is the Crispy Catch Caerphilly road, Cardiff. I knew from my Flaming Tikka experience, that Raz and his tasty catch wouldn't disappoint, and it certainly didn't! You may think chicken, chips and curry sauce is standard stuff, but the chicken chips with hot curry sauce from Raz and his guys is something else, a totally different level. Can't wait to try EVERYTHING else. Highly recommended, a true staple for the area, long may it sail.

Twice I’ve used you “ ready in 10 mins “ get down to collect order have to wait 20 mins for chips 🤷‍♂️

I recently visited The Crispy Catch, and I have to say, it was a delightful experience. The shop had a cosy vibe, with friendly staff ready to help you choose from their wide range of options. I opted for fish and chips, and it did not disappoint. The fish was perfectly battered crispy and light, not at all greasy. The cod itself was tender and flaky, easily falling apart with the slightest touch of my fork. The chips were thick-cut, crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside — the ideal balance of texture. I paired the meal with a generous serving of Hot Indian curry sauce and a sprinkle of vinegar, which complemented the flavours wonderfully. What stood out to me was the attention to detail. The batter was light and crispy, not too heavy, and the chips were clearly cooked fresh, not sitting around under a heat lamp. The portion sizes were also generous, leaving me feeling fully satisfied without being overwhelmed. One thing worth mentioning is the quick service — even though it was a busy time, the staff were efficient and made sure my order was prepared perfectly. The shop also offers a variety of additional items like battered sausages, pies, and sides (All Halal), which I’m definitely planning to try on my next visit. Overall, Crispy Catch in is a must-visit for anyone craving a classic fish and chips meal. With its top-notch food, friendly service, and no-nonsense approach, it’s clear that this chip shop knows what it’s doing. I’ll certainly be returning for another helping soon!

Went over to the crispy catch and ordered 2 bags of fish & chips, 1 mince pie, 2 fish cake and a jumbo sausage. It was absolutely delicious! Everything were cooked to perfection!! The portions were really good. The whole family really enjoyed it! Even my son reheated the chips next day in the airfryer and still tasted good. The service and staff was amazing! definitely will be going there again soon.

One of the best fish and chips in Cardiff, they do a lovely steak and kidney pie but the cod is so fresh!

Oh my god, old school, fish and chips with curry sauce. The Curry sauce had a slight tinge of chicken khariah which was soooo tasty. the fish was a big one succulent and juicy and the chips were thick soft and fresh. Brings back memories of fish and chips from when I was a kid. This has been a favourite of mine ever since I was a kid. Happily tucking in to this timeless treat. And the portion was so big I couldn't finish it. Alhamdullilah. Thanks team. Dreadful asked for chicken curry with chips....the chicken was kebab meat full of fat gristle skin and bone..the chips might have well been mashed potato...tasted awful no one in the family would eat it so went in the bin...

Don’t come here if you want something quick popped in for sausage and batter 2 pies a chips waited over 20 minutes and there was noone in the shop!!! Way too long for chippy if you ask me !! Food is nice but pathetic waiting that long in a chip shop for such a basic order

Just had 2 cod and chips 1 curry sauce delivered , the chips and curry sauce were lovely the both fish were terrible, very small thin and like a brick you literally could snap them in half worst piece of fish I’ve had in a long time , first time trying this place because reviews were good .

Tried this place tonight as I saw it had really good reviews, however the food isn’t great. The service from the staff is amazing…. I can’t fault it. But the food was cold, sausages were definitely re fried and chips were brown and mushed together.

I recently grabbed some fish&chips, sausages, fish cakes, donner kebabs, chicken&mushroom pies and hot curry sauce from The Crispy Catch. I can quite honestly say this chippy is by far the best In Cardiff! The chips are the best chips I’ve eaten and the fish is super fresh and crispy and most definitely lives up to its name! The hot curry sauce is one to order, simply moorish with those deliciously fresh chips! The rest of the food was also gorgeous!!! The owner Siraz is very friendly and the customer service is 10/10! He can’t do enough for you! You have a loyal and returning customer, keep up the good work guys!

Absolutely bad experience gave me gone off donor meat and the sausage was clearly refried many times causing it to be solid and then he just gave me food with no bag I’m absolutely shocked at the food level was really bad had bad stomach for 2 days

Brilliant food! The fish and chips were fantastic great portion sizes. The kids loved the fish cake! On our second visit we had the kebab/chips and curry sauce and it was amazing!

Called in looking for something tasty to eat and wasn’t disappointed. Cod and chips freshly cooked. A lovely piece of fish, great chips all finished off with a portion of hot Indian curry sauce. I very much enjoyed it. Engaging, friendly owner and staff. All good will go back.

Arrived at the shop and were quickly served. The food, 2 cod and chips with gravy and hot Indian curry sauce, was cooked from fresh. I was cheerily greeted by the owner as I waited. The wait wasn’t too long despite being cooked fresh, and smelled great. When I got back home I was pleasantly surprised by the portion size of the chips, which tasted good enough even without the fantastic curry sauce. The fish was perfectly cooked and nice and meaty. Lush!

It was like a went back in time to when going in to the local chippy was enjoyable, through service - and the chips tasted nicer! The tikka style chicken curry and chips is by far the best I’ve tasted too! Highly rated!

Thought this place was great the first time we ordered from them...the driver forgot half the order so the owner drove it down to us himself. Since then its obvious they've become a disaster area. Every time we order from them they forget half the things we ordered culminating in tonight delivering us cold food and HALF a poppadom instead of the 4 we ordered! Its disgusting and suffice to say we will never use them again!

The order arrived late and when it did the food was cold and there was only half a popadom in the bag instead of the four that we ordered. Appalling service and terrible food. We will not use this restaurant again as this is not the first time we’ve had a problem with them.

Have ordered from Flaming Tikka a few times now, the food has always arrived hot and on time. My favourites are the Pulled Rickshaw Curry, the Onion Pakora Bhajis, and the Flaming Chilli Wings. The one time there was a problem with the order (a missing item), I rang the restaurant and they brought us a replacement really quickly.

I ordered food and it was delivered 2 hrs 20 mins after I ordered. By this time I had left to go to do my night shift, hungry. Called restaurant multiple times with no answer, delivery time was altered on the app three times.

Really bad service, ordered on a Tuesday, supposed to arrive between 6:30 and 6:40, didn’t arrive until 7:40. They put on the app “delivered” twice even though it hadn’t been delivered. They used traffic as an excuse, although the drive is only 8 minutes and no amount of traffic leads to an order being an hour late. Refused to give a partial refund. Rice is also very dry and tastes as if it has been in the fridge for days. Decent curries, arrived hot, but the service is terrible.

So sad to be leaving this review as the food is very good. We ordered at around 6:30 pm and the food didn't arrive until 8:45 pm We were told it was because of a crash but also told it was due to alot of order so not clear but this amount of time is crazy I've never waited this long for food
