The Little Man Coffee Company in Cardiff

I can't rate the food coz I only had coffee. But it was quiet during the rugby. It was the only place I could find where I could read a book. Just what I needed when I was tired and needed coffee.

I was recommended to try this place, and I really enjoyed it. I had a v60 pour over with the house blend beans and it was lovely, rich and flavourful but not at all bitter. I also had a delicious bacon bap with a lovely soft seeded bap. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor here, a great mix of comfortable arm chairs, industrial furniture and what looks like church pews. Brilliant. Everyone was so helpful and I was offered a choice of v60, cafetiere, or aeropress. I have walked past this café many times, I just wish I'd walked in sooner. Highly recommended.

Great place to do some work or studying. Fast, reliable WiFi and enough seating that you don't have to feel shy about using a laptop. The barista was also pretty laid-back. Would be 5 stars if the extraction was better balanced (probably my fault for ordering an espresso all the way at the end of the day). The snacks/sweets selection could also be expanded.

Was fantastic place to go to do a bit of work, the space was really friendly and the barista - Brandon - was incredibly patient and engaged me on my interests and helped me get set up. I had a productive time and a delicious hot chocolate!

I liked the coffee but a bit of a cold dull atmosphere. A bit pricey too

This café is a gem! The oat milk late was smooth and rich, and the ambiance is perfect for studing or meeting friends.

The only vegan food they had was some carrot cake (and I grabbed the last slice…!) I wish they’d offer more vegan options. The space itself is very nice and cozy, good music but not too loud.

Food was good, located in a good spot, the staff were warm and welcoming however a good vet could have brought the bacon back to life.

Great little coffee shop, quick service and great tasting coffee. Better alternatives to some of the busier/ bigger chains.

Ordered hazelnut cappucinno. Got some sort of oat milk crap without hazelnut. When I told them they tried to gaslight me. Rubbish coffee, overhyped hipster wannabe establishment. 🥥

I wanted something that wasn’t a Costa or Starbucks, (or Greggs) and found this cafe which is quite quirky and trendy. It offered a simple yet very nice food menu. The coffee was good and they also had an alcohol license. There was Wi-Fi available and a few armchairs for those with weary legs. Nice place to eat and refresh the brain and stomach.

Just lovely, friendly people serving propper coffee and great cider. Food looks good but wasn't hungry so can't comment on taste. Sitting in here made me not want to leave Cardiff

It wasn’t super busy when we came in. The coffee was great and they also had gluten free and vegan option. I almost tripped on the way in because I didn’t see the step. And toilet was a little confusing to me. I’ve never seen a handle that’s a lock at the same time. So it took me about a minute to figure out that it’s not broken but used to lock the door 😂 funky toilet paper that you can also buy in store.

Very cute little coffee shop with patient and friendly staff a stones throw away from St Davids shopping centre, with the best coffee I have had from any cafe in Cardiff. They were not serving food when me and my partner arrived but they did give us multiple suggestions for nearby places that were serving food. Great customer service, and great coffee. Will definitely come again. Absolute no brainer to come here, especially over any chain cafe in the area. (Café Rouge, Café Nero, Costa, etc)

Nice coffee shop! There was a good working atmosphere with loads of tables and the coffee was nice, although, it was very cold, not sure how long I could stay without a coat on.

Nothing is more unprofessional than a shop that claims to be open till 6 but closed randomly at 5.16. Horrible and disrespectful to customers. Reply to Owner: Are you serious? Now you’re trying to put the blame on me ? I only arrived in Cardiff on Friday & would not have changed your opening hours on google. The passive aggressive response of ‘ being glad ‘ I took a wasted Uber trip to your establishment is poor customer service.

A solid 3.5 stars. The coffee is quite good and the atmosphere is conducive to work as it is well lit with plenty of tables. I had the avocado and egg bagel for breakfast, which had generous amounts of avocado and greens. Although the bagel isn't exactly very bagel-y, it does the job holding the avocado and egg together. I'd recommend they add some salt to the avocado. Nonetheless, standard good food.

Update for December 2023: Possibly my favourite cafe anywhere. Coffee is great, staff are phenomenal and so friendly, and it is just such a chilled out spot. I love that they stock so many coffees from a huge variety of different welsh coffee roasters, and can even enjoy this selection at home now with the new coffee box delivery Little Man do. I have so much love for Team Little Man - thank you all! :) Original post: My favourite cafe in Cardiff. Coffee is fantastic, food is delicious, and they cater to veggie and vegan too which is good for our friends. Always vigilant and helpful with my allergies - can't fault them. The staff are all lovely and the atmosphere is chilled and happy. Not too pretentious, and doing their bit for the community. Also dog friendly, and they even deliver coffee or alt milks to your door! 6/5 stars if I could!

Terrible service, myself & my partner with our 10 month old son came in to grab a hot beverage before departing Cardiff and heading back home to plymouth. We ordered 2 hot chocolates and I was willing to let go how busy it was in store, being that time of year and didn’t mind waiting patiently for our drinks to be made. But what came after is where I am unhappy, so 10 minutes or so after leaving Cardiff, I sat drinking my drink and when I eventually got to the end of my drink, I was left with the marshmallows, only to have to spit out into my hand the contents of some marshmallows and some GLASS. Not just one, but two sharp pieces after biting down into what I thought was just a stale marshmallow. I’m am utterly distraught at this & I understand these things can happen and was willing to just let it slip but I wanted to inform the shop, so I tried to call (6 times) & I also sent a Facebook message, only to be completely ignored. It’s been nearly a week and my message has been read and ignored!! I am absolutely shocked at the customer service here! If it wasn’t for the marshmallow being a chocking hazard for my son, I would happily have given him a sip of my drink, so it could have been a lot worse, thankfully it was just me this had happened to. I am a big supporter in independent businesses but I feel truly let down by being rudely ignored.

Didn't cancel to good to go order and allowed me to come to the store. Was offered a croissant in compensation. Bag I'd supposed to be 12 quids worth of food. There would be no negative review if the shop had cancelled the order

Pleased when told my old style loyalty card was now complete, displeased when an hour later a different server said it was not valid (as it had combination of stamps and punched holes). Seems like loyalty depends on who you ask and works one-way. Important? No. But does spoil the taste of an otherwise consistently good coffee.

Coffee and brunch all well made and delicious! Gluten free options too. It's good to have an independent place in a city of chain stores. However, as much as i like the concept there's something missing in the delivery. Staff just seemed "not bothered" Has the vibe of a student veggie cafe in the 90s. Toilets dark and dingy.

A great little find. I'm so glad I chose to go here for coffee and breakfast. They offer a good selection of drinks, cakes, and food options. There is something for everyone. I was really pleased to see some interesting veggie and vegan options, different from the norm. The marmite mushroom bap was incredible. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Cardiff.

This is one of my favourite coffee shops in Cardiff. Perfect spot for getting some work done - especially with the all-day coffee deal. I have been to this cafe a few times now and if I need to get my head down and work, its such a good place. A lovely cafe with great design, and a huge basement as well, with a bank vault! Wifi isn't super strong at the back of the vault (fine everywhere else though!) so that's where I sit if I have to get on without being distracted by twitter. The staff were lovely - one day a brand new team member was being trained and they were all great, dealing with training and with the morning rush really well. They are great, and great at their jobs too. if you're working on your laptop for the day, you can pay £10 for all day hot drinks, or £18 I think for lunch and cake as well as the drinks. Works really well and is a fair price for an office for the day. Quality of the drinks is high as well.

This is a great coffee shop serving deliciously freshly roasted beans. The coffee was great, the cakes looked wonderful and I will certainly try one on my next visit. The staff are friendly and welcoming, definitely somewhere I will go back to.

We visited here twice in 4 days during our stay in Swansea. The coffee is good and served hot not Luke warm. The cakes are delicious. We had carrot cake and Victoria sponge

The coffee was ashy and burnt like taste and the standard of milk and coffee for the flat white was not balanced, although the vibe and people their seem to be interested in the coffee details, which is a good sign.

One of my top five breakfasts of all time. Chickpea and avacado bagel. Bacon roll also exquisite due to perfectly peppered egg and well cooked bacon.

Early breakfast fabulous coffee served in mugs ✅ lots of non dairy ’milks’ if required. Really fresh croissant and generous French toast with berries. Near premier inn and en route to train station.

Close to the centre of town, but far enough from the centre that it wasn’t busy at all, so if you want good food without a crowd, this is a very worthwhile short walk from Queen Street. The decor is, at best, basic. The staff were welcoming and the food was great. Not a huge choice but I had a bacon roll which was substantial and good quality. The coffee was good, of course.

We came across your coffee house by aimlessly wandering. Wow, what a great find. We ordered bagels with avocado 🥑 & mushroom. First class quality food, delicious. The young lady who served us today was honestly the nicest I’ve come across in a very long time. Welcoming, friendly and generally upbeat.. it was a pleasure. And she is worth every penny & more. I walked out of there feeling our custom was appreciated, which again is rare. Will revisit next time we visit Cardiff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Recommended to visit by so many friends and finally did - was not disappointed. Very simple setup, WiFi for remote work, friendly efficient staff, nice coffee and water offered also. A lovely work space or meet up spot, and all very affordable. Would recommend!

Simple classic menu for breakfast/ brunch/lunch. Went there for brunch with our kid. Staff very friendly. Food is tasty, my highlight was the French toast - photo attached. Would go back!

I was surprised with the size of this amazing BLT sandwich! I was expecting it to be small, but I was happy when I saw this! It was delicious. I don’t give it 5 stars because I would’ve liked the option of warming it up. It was great though! When I come back to Cardiff I will be coming to this coffee shop again!

Great coffee shop with lovely staff, always helpful and very central. Coffee is definitely the real thing. Rooms to hire downstairs. A chilled atmosphere with no pressure to hurry your drink and go... Usually art being displayed both up and downstairs...

I've been here a few times and the coffee is always of a high quality and there is almost always a vegan cake available. I have never been disappointed here.
