Coffee was nice. Food was just okay.

Great coffee shop, delicious coffee. Just off the main streets of Cardiff and well worth the short walk. We can recommend the croissants and the banana cake too.

Very cute little coffee shop with patient and friendly staff a stones throw away from St Davids shopping centre, with the best coffee I have had from any cafe in Cardiff. They were not serving food when me and my partner arrived but they did give us multiple suggestions for nearby places that were serving food. Great customer service, and great coffee. Will definitely come again. Absolute no brainer to come here, especially over any chain cafe in the area. (Café Rouge, Café Nero, Costa, etc)

Nothing is more unprofessional than a shop that claims to be open till 6 but closed randomly at 5.16. Horrible and disrespectful to customers. Reply to Owner: Are you serious? Now you’re trying to put the blame on me ? I only arrived in Cardiff on Friday & would not have changed your opening hours on google. The passive aggressive response of ‘ being glad ‘ I took a wasted Uber trip to your establishment is poor customer service.

A solid 3.5 stars. The coffee is quite good and the atmosphere is conducive to work as it is well lit with plenty of tables. I had the avocado and egg bagel for breakfast, which had generous amounts of avocado and greens. Although the bagel isn't exactly very bagel-y, it does the job holding the avocado and egg together. I'd recommend they add some salt to the avocado. Nonetheless, standard good food.

Update for December 2023: Possibly my favourite cafe anywhere. Coffee is great, staff are phenomenal and so friendly, and it is just such a chilled out spot. I love that they stock so many coffees from a huge variety of different welsh coffee roasters, and can even enjoy this selection at home now with the new coffee box delivery Little Man do. I have so much love for Team Little Man - thank you all! :) Original post: My favourite cafe in Cardiff. Coffee is fantastic, food is delicious, and they cater to veggie and vegan too which is good for our friends. Always vigilant and helpful with my allergies - can't fault them. The staff are all lovely and the atmosphere is chilled and happy. Not too pretentious, and doing their bit for the community. Also dog friendly, and they even deliver coffee or alt milks to your door! 6/5 stars if I could!

Terrible service, myself & my partner with our 10 month old son came in to grab a hot beverage before departing Cardiff and heading back home to plymouth. We ordered 2 hot chocolates and I was willing to let go how busy it was in store, being that time of year and didn’t mind waiting patiently for our drinks to be made. But what came after is where I am unhappy, so 10 minutes or so after leaving Cardiff, I sat drinking my drink and when I eventually got to the end of my drink, I was left with the marshmallows, only to have to spit out into my hand the contents of some marshmallows and some GLASS. Not just one, but two sharp pieces after biting down into what I thought was just a stale marshmallow. I’m am utterly distraught at this & I understand these things can happen and was willing to just let it slip but I wanted to inform the shop, so I tried to call (6 times) & I also sent a Facebook message, only to be completely ignored. It’s been nearly a week and my message has been read and ignored!! I am absolutely shocked at the customer service here! If it wasn’t for the marshmallow being a chocking hazard for my son, I would happily have given him a sip of my drink, so it could have been a lot worse, thankfully it was just me this had happened to. I am a big supporter in independent businesses but I feel truly let down by being rudely ignored.

Small café, short walk from the St David's centre food court side. Usually very busy but there is extra seating downstairs behind the bar.

Didn't cancel to good to go order and allowed me to come to the store. Was offered a croissant in compensation. Bag I'd supposed to be 12 quids worth of food. There would be no negative review if the shop had cancelled the order

Absolutely incredible service! Polite staff who provide service with a smile, great music for relaxing, vibes are immaculate. Would like to praise a certain staff member by the name Brandon for going above and beyond with giving me a 5 star experience. I will be returning for the rest of my life.

Pleased when told my old style loyalty card was now complete, displeased when an hour later a different server said it was not valid (as it had combination of stamps and punched holes). Seems like loyalty depends on who you ask and works one-way. Important? No. But does spoil the taste of an otherwise consistently good coffee.

Coffee and brunch all well made and delicious! Gluten free options too. It's good to have an independent place in a city of chain stores. However, as much as i like the concept there's something missing in the delivery. Staff just seemed "not bothered" Has the vibe of a student veggie cafe in the 90s. Toilets dark and dingy.

A great little find. I'm so glad I chose to go here for coffee and breakfast. They offer a good selection of drinks, cakes, and food options. There is something for everyone. I was really pleased to see some interesting veggie and vegan options, different from the norm. The marmite mushroom bap was incredible. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Cardiff.

This is one of my favourite coffee shops in Cardiff. Perfect spot for getting some work done - especially with the all-day coffee deal. I have been to this cafe a few times now and if I need to get my head down and work, its such a good place. A lovely cafe with great design, and a huge basement as well, with a bank vault! Wifi isn't super strong at the back of the vault (fine everywhere else though!) so that's where I sit if I have to get on without being distracted by twitter. The staff were lovely - one day a brand new team member was being trained and they were all great, dealing with training and with the morning rush really well. They are great, and great at their jobs too. if you're working on your laptop for the day, you can pay £10 for all day hot drinks, or £18 I think for lunch and cake as well as the drinks. Works really well and is a fair price for an office for the day. Quality of the drinks is high as well.

This is a great coffee shop serving deliciously freshly roasted beans. The coffee was great, the cakes looked wonderful and I will certainly try one on my next visit. The staff are friendly and welcoming, definitely somewhere I will go back to.

We visited here twice in 4 days during our stay in Swansea. The coffee is good and served hot not Luke warm. The cakes are delicious. We had carrot cake and Victoria sponge

The coffee was ashy and burnt like taste and the standard of milk and coffee for the flat white was not balanced, although the vibe and people their seem to be interested in the coffee details, which is a good sign.

One of my top five breakfasts of all time. Chickpea and avacado bagel. Bacon roll also exquisite due to perfectly peppered egg and well cooked bacon.

Early breakfast fabulous coffee served in mugs ✅ lots of non dairy ’milks’ if required. Really fresh croissant and generous French toast with berries. Near premier inn and en route to train station.

Close to the centre of town, but far enough from the centre that it wasn’t busy at all, so if you want good food without a crowd, this is a very worthwhile short walk from Queen Street. The decor is, at best, basic. The staff were welcoming and the food was great. Not a huge choice but I had a bacon roll which was substantial and good quality. The coffee was good, of course.

We came across your coffee house by aimlessly wandering. Wow, what a great find. We ordered bagels with avocado 🥑 & mushroom. First class quality food, delicious. The young lady who served us today was honestly the nicest I’ve come across in a very long time. Welcoming, friendly and generally upbeat.. it was a pleasure. And she is worth every penny & more. I walked out of there feeling our custom was appreciated, which again is rare. Will revisit next time we visit Cardiff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Recommended to visit by so many friends and finally did - was not disappointed. Very simple setup, WiFi for remote work, friendly efficient staff, nice coffee and water offered also. A lovely work space or meet up spot, and all very affordable. Would recommend!

Simple classic menu for breakfast/ brunch/lunch. Went there for brunch with our kid. Staff very friendly. Food is tasty, my highlight was the French toast - photo attached. Would go back!

I was surprised with the size of this amazing BLT sandwich! I was expecting it to be small, but I was happy when I saw this! It was delicious. I don’t give it 5 stars because I would’ve liked the option of warming it up. It was great though! When I come back to Cardiff I will be coming to this coffee shop again!

Great coffee shop with lovely staff, always helpful and very central. Coffee is definitely the real thing. Rooms to hire downstairs. A chilled atmosphere with no pressure to hurry your drink and go... Usually art being displayed both up and downstairs...

I've been here a few times and the coffee is always of a high quality and there is almost always a vegan cake available. I have never been disappointed here.

It's a great little cafe with a chilled atmosphere and good coffee. I had a brie and ham sandwich, foolishly I suppose, since I hadn't noticed the mention of jam. I ate it up like a good girl but it was definitely too sweet for me and I had a sugar headache afterwards. I'm sure lots of people would have loved it..

Dropped in to shelter from the rain. Staff are super friendly and helpful. An unassuming local shop with an easy atmosphere. Coffee is sourced from a few roasters. We had a single origin Ethiopian americano, a green health smoothie, brownie and courgette/lime cake for £12.35. Not the cheapest but the coffee was spot on. Smoothie was ok and cakes were great.

I just happened to stumble onto this coffee shop, and it was genuinely the best latte I've ever had in my life. The pastries were amazing as well! Will definitely be back.

Great for breakfast! I had the pancakes with Berry compote, yoghurt and syrup. Will others had the bacon bun and coffee deal. Very nice quiet atmosphere and great coffee!!! Looks good for coffee and cake or lunch as well. Make sure you check out downstairs.

We were looking to stop somewhere for a drink and snack late afternoon, after most cafes are shut. Great cafe with a relaxing atmosphere. We loved the insect decoration on the walls. My husband loved his coffee - praise indeed from someone who is very fussy about his coffee. Great choice of teas (loose leaf) and smoothies made to order. There was a choice of about 6 cakes including one gluten free option (a brownie). I had courgette, line and pistachio cake, which was a little bit heavy although with a really good flavour. All in all a great place to relax for an hour or so.

We have visited this cafe based on “the top cafe chart in Cardiff” and we wer not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and th coffee was very good quality. We have liked the whole place a lot, its a little industrial style and also coffee oriented journals available to look through (as Standart for exqmple ;-))

In my opinion this is the best coffee in cardiff . Great vibes and when you need to slow thing s down and get ready for the day there is no better place to be .

I went to the cafe for breakfast and had a really good breakfast deal, the coffee was really good and they do even swap food if you have an allergy/ intolerance and you don't have to pay extra! I can only recommend this little cafe! Staff is super friendly!

I’ve stopped here previously and it’s always refreshing to find such pleasant service with good coffee.I was in town early yesterday for an appointment at 0900.I popped in for a Latte and Bacon Roll.Wow, the Bacon Roll was amazing and so much better than you might get in the coffee chain outlets.

Staff are friendly, food is different and yummy and the coffee is great! The toilets are clean and have good accessibility. Highly recommended:)

Went here on the way to a concert at The Motorpoint, had a tuna sandwich and pastry was very yum . Excellent service and very good value for money.

Popped in to grab a coffee to go as working in the area. Was pleasantly surprised with the price, and also I noticed they did suspended coffees. It looks like a great place to hang out, lots of people working on their laptops at the desk in the window, and the cafe itself was really busy with a real buzz. Planning to take the wife on a visit soon.

Terrific coffee served to you by really friendly staff. Cakes and pastries first class. A pal of mine had the pressed corned beef sandwich and raved about it. A nice change from the big chains, and very reasonably priced.

Went here for a business meeting, it looks basic and the chairs do make you feel like your back at junior school but it’s a lovely atmosphere, good coffee and great variety of homemade cakes.

I approached Little Man Coffee as was seeking donations towards a University Mental Health awareness event I was involved with planning at the University of South Wales. They were kind enough to donate some free coffee vouchers for our Students which were very much appreciated. Thought i'd treat myself while I was there as had often walked past but never called in before. Had a vanilla latte and some Lemon Drizzle cake. They were both beautiful!! The cakes are hand made in house and there is, as you would expect a great selection of coffees to choose from. I will definitely be back even though i'm not sure my waistline will thank you!

We come here for lunch every time we are in town for work. Staff are friendly the food is freshly prepared and very tasty 😋😋😋😋 We love that they run a suspended coffee system too 😍😍

after being recommended to us we called into try this. I have to say the coffee is great and not bitter like a lot of the coffee houses. we also had cake to go with it and that was good as well and all at a very reasonable price, with great staff you cannot go wrong.

After reading the reviews I was really looking forward to trying some of the food at Little Man but I left feeling really disappointed. I ordered one of their new baps - the 'Rocket Man' (beef, horseradish, salad, tomato and pickles) and at £6.50 with a packet of cheap crisps (could choose walkers, hula hoops etc) I wouldn't say it was good value. Although it tasted quite nice as the salad was fresh and the horseradish wasn't too strong, I only got one, very thin slice of beef in a modestly-sized roll. It was mostly a salad sandwich. For the price I would expect a lot more and I felt very cheated. I also didn't enjoy the mango, pineapple, carrot and orange juice smoothie - it had a very odd, thick and lumpy texture, more like soup than a smoothie! The only flavour was very sour orange with no hint of mango or pineapple. I have had much better sandwiches for less (overall it set me back £10.50) and unfortunately I don't think I will be visiting again. However the staff were friendly and the place had a nice atmosphere

The food items are limited, but that’s ok. What they’ve got is good. I had a ham & avocado on toast with chilli relish. Light and delicious. Coffee was great.

Cozy atmosphere & great cappuccino

I don’t like coffee (and I’m pretty sure the first time I came here the guy frowned at me when I told him) but I do however love spending time in little coffee shops. I had been looking for a new one to spend my time in and just happened on this lovely little place! The staff here are so lovely, I’ve been here so many times just to read articles and the atmosphere is great. The teas are really nice and I definitely recommend the lemon drizzle cake

Went in to buy a bag of coffee for my machine at home (new machine, complete novice). They took me through everything they had, ground the beans to suite my machine at home and then on finding out how much of a novice I was they then gave me a demonstration of how to make a coffee including frothing the milk! Taking me through the process step by step on their machine. Above and beyond customer service, brilliant.

i had a very bad experience waiting for more than 30min just for toast and they don’t have salmon as written in menu :(

I had to wait more than 40min to finally get a cold toast, and not tasty at all. Regarding the others comments, I expected much more. I am very disappointed.

Last week we had my husband's 50th birthday party in Little Man. The staff went above and beyond to meet our needs, and helped to create a warm, friendly atmosphere that our guests loved! They even created a table tennis area in the vault...fab! Many guests had never been to Little Man before but said they can't wait to return. Perfect evening! Great coffee. Awesome selection of drinks. Attentiveness to details!

OMG best coffee ever. First time in Cardiff, but this coffee is really great. Also the cake and toast with avocado spread is finger lickin' good!!! Relax and enjoy the Latte or espresso or the regular black (tall and handsome)!!
