Al Sham Sweets in Cardiff

Having seen friendly people buzzing around this smart shop/cafe late in the evening, I called here for a morning break. The shop is spotless and in the little cafe at the back I succumbed to chocolate baklava fingers and Arabic red tea. I loved both and hope to visit again not least because of the friendly welcome.

The staff had very bad attitude, no thank you and please. They don't clean the tables after costumers. If you want to make the most of your trip to Cardiff don't visit city road.

Stopped by to have Kunefe and mint tea. The kunefe was made and cooked after order. The kunefe was served hot, sweet, slightly fragrant and thoroughly enjoyable desert snack with mint tea.

We dropped in for takeaway dessert and came back again to have drinks and cakes in the cafe. Lovely friendly service. Great selection of baklava, cakes, desserts and ice creams. Would recommend.

Me and my family came all the way from Birmingham to try these desserts and it did not disappoint, MashAllah it was delicious and so fresh ! We all tried various things! The service at this place was the best and made our visit to Cardiff a lot better ! The owner was very kind and if u ask nicely he will explain each dessert for you ! Waitress can’t speak English Doesn’t understand when discussing food intolerances Showed clients where all the cakes with nuts were when they said they were allergic. Serious health and safety issues around their ability to tackle food intolerances.

Popped in here for some dessert after eating a meal elsewhere. The decor is beautiful, the cakes and baklava all look amazing and the staff are friendly and attentive. We felt really welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our cakes and drinks. We will definitely return for more tasty treats.

Al-Sham Sweets have the most authentic and delicious ‘Knafeh’ in Cardiff. The staff are also very friendly. Highly recommended if you are into Middle Eastern sweets.

I went into AL SHAM today as my son was treating me to a box of delicious cakes and baklava. This is my favouite shop. Its a beautiful shop, candelabras on the ceiling, beautiful display cabinets, so clean and the cakes are set out so beautifully. I asked the owner to fill a box with as many delicious treats as he could. I am delighted with my Christmas treat. Al Shams is a lovely sweet dessert place with lots and lots of baklava’s, Middle Eastern sweets as well as cakes and ice cream. Service is always prompt. The place is decorated in lovely warm lighting with gold accents which adds to the inviting atmosphere. The baklava’s are always delicious and I would recommend this as a place to get your Middle Eastern pastries from!

Visited here for baklava but ended up with one of my favourites Kanafe it was a huge portion asked for it to be warmed up which they kindly did and served it to me with pistachio ice cream all for £5, it was one of the best I have tasted unfortunately I had to share 😋 definitely worth visiting five star from me 👍

I visited Al Sham this afternoon while on a day out in Cardiff. We made a detour to this place as I was curious to try it, after reading the positive reviews. I was not disappointed, quite the opposite. The place looked ultra clean and the owner Youssef and his daughter Bushra were very helpful. I was spoilt for choice, but in the end went for some Konafa with cream, coconut basbousa and almond basbousa. I have just had some of the Konafa and I can honestly say that it’s the best I have had ( and I have had many!) not too sweet and the cream filling was lovely and just the right consistency. My husband has tried the basbousa and was equally impressed. Also, I thought the prices were reasonable, especially as the ingredients were of a high standard. I will definitely make a point of going back on our next visit to Cardiff.

One of the beast sweet in UK. Highly recommend to try middle east sweets. All dishes are delicious. Staff are friendly and cooperative.

Visited this bakery yesterday and bought some baklava and kanafa. Oh my goodness both items were so delicious! Highly recommend a visit to this place if like me you are a fan of Middle Eastern sweet treats.

Passed the shop and was tempted in by how clean the shop front looked and the gorgeous looking baklava. Went for half a kilo Of mixed baklava and oh my goodness, they are all gorgeous. Didn’t have any chocolate ones.

The sweets here are amazing! We ordered several boxes of baklava to take home, and ate kunefe there. The gentleman working there was so helpful in helping us decide what to have. Everything tasted delicious, already looking forward to our next visit!
