Can’t recommend enough!! The customer service was outstanding and the food was even better! Makes a lovely setting for a date night and the menu had something for everyone. I went for the beef cheek bourguignon and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, 100% recommend. Special mention to our waitress Ginny, she had briefly mentioned she was relatively new, never would have guessed, amazing.

Absolutely delicious food and cocktails. We were lucky enough to sit outside in the glorious weather. Inside the restaurant were ample seating and beautifully presented and decorated with an upstairs area too. Toilet facilities, spotless. Staff were very polite, friendly and accommodating. We were impressed as a first visit and plan to return with family.

I have been to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We were in 4. My daughter (11) was so happy that she received a birthday card, which made her experience ever better. We had 3 steaks with fries and pasta. This time, my daughter steak (type of meat) was different from last time. Everything was very good. Great customer service and, in particular, great manager (I believe he is the manager: great person). Another good reason to come back is for their staff: very polite and make feeling you very welcome. We had again a great experience, and we look forward to coming back.

We hadn’t eaten at Cote for quite a while , so we decided to try it . What a great decision , we had the “ Sunday Deal” , half a roast chicken , 8oz sirloin steak and belly pork to share , with dauphinoise potatoes and 2 sides of spinach and green beans . We were asked how we wanted the steak , we said rare and it was perfect , the chicken and belly pork were again cooked perfectly . The accompanying sauces were great , we asked for extra helpings of the mushroom and peppercorn as they were outstanding. We had “ boring “ calamares to start , they were great , tender calamari and lovely crisp coating . The service was fantastic , very friendly yet professional , all in all a great meal

The manager was helpful, but some staff were slow and chatty amongst eachother. I asked to order twice, I asked for a child ice-cream twice and ended up cancelling and getting the bill. They did bring my daughter some crayons and some paper when she became impatient.

Good food, nice staff. I like the decor of Côte restaurants, and their menu too. The two things I didn't like were 1) the volume of the music. It was quiet when I walked in (only one table was occupied). Shortly after I sat down, the volume increased, and it felt more like a nightclub than an early morning at a restaurant. If I could choose a restaurant which doesn't have music, I would... 2) Given that there was plenty of space available, and the tables being pretty close together, I would have preferred it if they didn't seat all customers as they arrived at a table next to occupied ones (i.e. so that all customers are bundled together in one corner of the restaurant). It would be good to have some space when the restaurant isn't very full.

I have come to this restaurant for about 7 times and I am prepared to come at least one time every week, as the Manager Bart has the professional serving attitude and manner and patience to explain the details of the French dishes.

I often come to Cote before a theatre trip or concert for a meal. Used several different locations before and been to Cardiff a few times. Always my first choice due to great service, good menu choices and reasonable prices. Never been let down. Staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. The restaurant was busy but it had a lovely atmosphere and everything was great. No complaints at all. A lovely experience as always.

Despite it being an incredibly busy night due to rugby and mother's days we were warmly welcomed even though we were a little early and we had cocktails outside while.we waited. We were promptly showed to our table and everything and everyone was extremely professional and courteous. Special mention should go to our waitress for bubbly personality and maximum efficiency despite the place being full to the rafters - we felt really comfortable and cared for. The menu is nicely varied but the highlights for us were the baked camembert and the cheese board to finish off

A relaxed afternoon celebrating a friends birthday. The service was excellent and the food was great. The main course with a shared bottle of wine was about 36 quid. Although it was busy, you could still have great conversations with your guests, and it didn't feel like you were competing with other tables. They cater for vegan ( first pic) palates as well.

Buzzing atmosphere on a Saturday evening with large contingent from France for Sunday's 6 Nations fixture. Very good food and service, small wine list but some nice choices. Sancerre Rose recommended.

We booked lunch feb 14th & we were greated by a very charming young man. For I’m the off the service was first class. Food was amazing & our server Bart gave us outstanding service. We chatted with him as he was from Poland & we had recently visited this country. Mid shop lunch - very slick. I had beef bourginon W mash. Very tasty. Also more recently went for early start brunch when Wales played Scotland. Had such a good time I forgot to take photos. Staff coped very well W raucous customers and business. Thankyou for a great start to a memorable day.

A bit empty when I went in by the time I left it was getting busier. The service was quick and polite. The menu choices are huge and I liked the option of so many non alcoholic cocktails.

Had a really great meal here. Confit of duck as the main course. Starter was good, chicken liver patè and I loved the fruity chutney. Could have done with more bread with it, and may a small salad garnish,but apart from that well worth a visit. Revisited a couple of weeks later and was consistently good. Love the cheese souffle. Still as good as ever on my latest visit - Jan 2024.

Excellent food and service. Friendly & helpful staff who pay attention to detail and treat you like you are the only customer. Food portions are just right, respectful of food intolerances as well as allergies, even pointing out when a chosen dish contained one of these. Lovely ambience. Refreshing to visit a restaurant that uses proper table linen and really does offer a 5* dining experience. Will definitely visit again.

I’ve usually had really good service in Coté and enjoy the food. Both my partner and I felt this was probably one of the best meals we’ve had in Coté over the last few years.

The Full breakfast was absolutely delicious. Cristina the waitress was the best! She was absolutely lovely, we had a wonderful quick chat and she made us feel really special. The strong americano coffee was so tasty! I’ll definitely recommend it!

Have visited Cote restaurants a few times and this was up there with service , quality of food and value for money. Well worth a visit.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Duck starter can only be described as poor, really disappointing. The steak main was really tasteless, the sauce was lumpy, the meat fatty and chips ..come on you can do better than chips ... just really disappointing The salted caramel tart was OK. Overall ... not great at all .. Sorry.

Went for lunch with some work colleagues. We chose from the main menu but there was also a 3 course menu available for £37.95. Not sure if they do this all the time or whether it is just a Christmas thing. Food was delicious, service was good.

We were a group of 22 and made a reservation prior. We had an area of the restaurant set aside for us. Meals were pre-booked and there were no issues with the quantity of items. They came out in a systematic order. £16.95/£20.95 for the 2-/3-course dinner is really a good deal! Thank you to Bart and his team for waiting on us on the upper floor. A pleasure and delight to have been served by you. Had a smoked salmon fish cake, steak frites, plum clafoutis, and G&T for dinner. Really enjoyed it! Highly recommended!

I thought the service was excellent. My crab starter was disappointing. There was no taste of crab, too wet and acidic. Three of the party had crab and we all agreed that it was disappointing. To be fair we weren't charged. The rest of the meal was good.

Visited after going to see the lights at Bute Park. Staff were super helpful. Partybofv6 and our mum is struggling to walk, so using a wheelchair at the moment. As the table reserved was up some steps, another table was found upstairs, and staff took us to the lift and made sure we were OK. Food was delicious and service all evening was great.

I have never been here before, and will not go again. Very limited vegetarian options, but not my main complaint. A busy lunchtime, so service was stretched. When mains arrived I was very surprised at size of portions, the smallest quiche I have ever seen.and the reference to a salad, which consisted of few sprigs of rocket was somewhat misleading. But the noise! Conversation was well nigh impossible, which made the gathering of friends a disappointing experience and almost a waste of time.

Very underwhelming visit which is a shame as the food was tasty. Weve been to a few cotes and this is by far the worst of the ones weve been to unfortunately..the disabled toilet was a mess really and needs a proper clean including the grouting and flooring!! The staff need to be more cheery, happy & attentive as very few were also they had quite a few items not available from the menu which is not good as our booking was at 12.30 so not sure how they got through rest of day! We did see 1 table arrive be seated have drinks & then leave which I can only assume would be because of the lack of things available. Shame really as we won't visit this one again.

We went to Cote for breakfast as we had a day planned in Cardiff. We had not booked a table in advance but arrived just at the right time before it became very busy. We all ordered the champagne breakfast (£22 each and a choice from the breakfast menu, a glass of champagne and a glass of juice/coffee/tea). The full English was lovely and the scrambled egg, in particular, was really good. It took a while for the food to be served (30 min +) but everything was nice and the service was friendly. We had a bit of an issue with the bill when it arrived as they had charged us separately for the coffees but it was quickly rectified, and overall, it was a perfectly pleasant breakfast right in the middle of Cardiff.

Our 3rd time eating at Cote, each time a different restaurant and each time an excellent experience - great service and great value for money 👍

Went with my family the meal and the service was fantastic. And we all decided was the best place to eat in Cardiff. The staff was fantastic as well especially Christina. I had the pork was amazing my husband had the Beef , mushroom bourginion it was gorgeous. And my daughter in law had Duck. We where all very happy we all agreed it was the best meal we've ever eaten in Cardiff . Desserts where fantastic aswell. House wine was lush also . Ambiance was fab we'll be back.

Been there many times. Nice wine and food, but food wasn't spectacular quality, in my opinion. Well, I revisited today and had an absolutely spectacular meal with the duck confit. They seem to have reformulated it and put it on a bed of red cabbage, which really goes well with the orange sauce. Today would have been difficult to beat. Best meal here ever. I just hope they keep it up. The duck was first class and done to perfection. Update November 2023: Food was much improved since my last visit. so I have uprated the place. Service was also great but relaxed as I like it to be. Well worth a visit.

I know it's a chain, But it doesn't feel like it. Right in the centre of town, great food and great atmosphere.

We always visit here when in Cardiff as a special treat but I think yesterday will be our last time. The food and service were excellent but as with our previous visit the music was way too loud and I couldn't hear half of what my wife was saying sitting right opposite me. There were a few people in the restaurant and I found that some were having to raise their voices to be heard over the music. Not a pleaseant experience and very irritating. I'm OK with music but in a restaurant it should be background and not so loud it becomes irritating.

Really loved this Restaurant. A nice atmosphere, the food was great & a nice selection of Wines & other drinks. The Waiter was very professional & polite. Spent a lot but worth it. Finished off with a lovely Calvados & an Armagnac. The Wines we had with the Meal were also excellent as were the Plum Desserts

Lovely French style restaurant which is a stones throw away from the Millennium Center. Close to taxi rank and 5/ 10 minutes walk from car parks. Our party of 8 pre-booked a table prior to visiting the Millennium Center to see a production. The restaurant is very busy and pre booking is advisable. We were quickly seated and our drinks order taken, served very quickly and food orders taken. Within 5 or six minutes our first courses arrived, well presented , cooked and served. The main courses followed in due course. Everyone was very happy with their meals. Efficiency, tasty and beautiful food. We all agreed we would definitely return to dine there. The prices are competitive for both food and drinks. The restaurant is well decorated, with comfortable seating and easy to find. It is adjoining the Dolphin Quay and it's attractions ,a short taxi ride from Cardiff city center. It's wheelchair accessible too.

Having a day out looking around central Cardiff, surprisingly modern and fresh with lots of arcades, retail shops, bars and restaurants. We visited Cote after a good experience at the Bristol venue, this one is situated in the brewery quarter in Cardiff. My Duck was superb with Dauphinoise Pot's, my wife had Tarte Fine with Frites and we shared a Fougasse bread. She was expecting the tarte to be a bit like a quiche but it was more like a small vegetarian pizza, although it was quite tasty she had to ask for a steak knife to cut it up as a bit over crisp in parts. Our friend had GF Ratatouille, she thought it was OK but nothing to write home about. GF is quite a difficult food to prepare as the flavour can diminish in some dishes so can always be a bit hit and miss. It was banging in the area so lively and enjoyable and all in all not a bad couple of hours. The staff were very polite and helpful, preparing our table and accommodating extra space for my wife's wheelchair. Thank you guys.

Un bon restaurant français dans un lieu où on ne s'y attendrait pas ! Bonne ambiance, très bonne nourriture, peu de monde à une horaire pourtant propice à voir une grande clientèle, et un très bon accueil. Les prix sont un peu chers mais c'est une très bonne surprise !

Lovely atmosphere our server was fast and attentive but not over the top. French onion soup to start was amazing. Rich tasty and refreshing. I had the brecon seafood and my partner had the fish pie all the food tasted fresh and well seasoned.would definitely go back again.

A nice place to eat, they do a great a la carte deal during the week which should be sampled. I will say very quiet, could've been the day or time of but still no atmosphere. Food is lovely, lots of choice - it came out at an ok time but I do feel service could be a little quicker. The lamps on the tables are also full of dust! Not great when your food and drink are underneath them. My desert didn't arrive, but once raising to the wait staff they voluntarily took it off the bill and had it made quickly for me. Grateful for that! Not sure I'd recommend, and wouldn't rush to go again.

Food was really good. Staff were ok but not great. One waiter knocked my drink over the table whilst collecting my plate A waitress that greeted us asked about any allergies, I told her I was allergic to peas/pea family and her reply was "well don't order anything with peas then!" Not really taking allergies seriously then!?

The Calamari was the best I've ever had, exceptional. I couldn't believe it, and I've eaten in top fish restaurants around the country.

Visited this chain in other cities in the UK and this is the best one we have been to. The meals we chose Beef Bourguignon and Fish Parmenter were excellent. The service received from all staff was excellent and would definitely eat here again when next in the area.

This was one of the best meals I've tasted, it looked great and the flavours were so delicious I didn't have to add any seasoning at the table. The staff were tentative and friendly. I don't live locally to this restaurant but would gladly travel the 40 or so miles to go for a meal there.

In my opinion one of the best restaurant in Cardiff. Excellent decor. Food was very tasty (we ordered sirlion steak with white wine). But the special attention care and friendliness from the manager with mustache who made us feel right at home. He personally came to our table to check if we had everything we wanted and if everything was up to mark. I will definitely come back to Cote Cardiff Central.
